I think the thing about Butters is that he’s this really fun contradiction to me. And from what I’ve seen from going through the seasons. Butters Stotch starts out as a contrast to the main four. He’s gulliable and a push over, which turns into the perfect victim, and then he’s the perfect sidekick.
For awhile he seems almost like a loner, or perhaps just comfortable with himself. Something likely picked up from being grounded in his room so often. He sings to himself various songs to pass the time by, he does various art mostly drawing several times throughout the show. Something like tap dancing seems to be something he could attach himself to while not needing to be physically strong and his parents could gain socially from having a talented son.
Yet as time goes by we see his “innocent ways” be twisted, but instead of it being a straight laced kid he’s already quite the asshole. In season 3 he doesn’t hold back from bullying the Codswolds, and in season 7 he quickly piles on to the bullying of Gary Harrison. He has an aversion to difference, the kind that makes you think anyone different is bad. Which wouldn’t be surprising to have come from his parents and their more religious background.
Butters, showing off his age, attacks life in the only way you can when you’re in elementary school and learning everything for the first time. Butters doesn’t start cussing because his friends do, we know he’s capable because we see him do it a few times such as in Christian Hard Rock. He’s not really afraid to stop his class and tell them he’s never played WoW and instead likes Hello Kitty Island, but he will tell Stan “I'd rather be a crying little pussy than a faggy goth kid”. There a hierarchy he’s picked up on, and he knows being gay is the worst. Even as he doesn’t know what it is.
Butters didn’t know what his father was doing, he didn’t know why everything was so upset while at camp, and instantly after his first kiss he think he’s a “man” and needs to change his entire life to be one. In that same episode, Butters Bottom Bitch, he rags on gay people quite a bit. Which we see over the course of the series in various ways (see previous paragraph’s quote). He’s been homophobic while having no clue what that really means. This seems to manifest just as much with his sexism, very little clue as why girls are lesser than (though his sexism also seems to stem from the fact they are different) but he accepts it and says a lot of misogynistic shit.
We see almost again and again the abuse that Butters faces that there is no root wrong, there is just an overall wrong. There is no nuance to why a sect of people are bad, they just are. He’s grounded episode after episode for things he hasn’t done or wasn’t a big part of, his school photo being a great example of this. He is nurtured into a world where he is belittle enough to believe he doesn’t know better then others a lot of the time via his parents and later on Cartman.
A more deep rooted homophobia and/or sexism would have him against presenting or doing anything related to being feminine. He’d hide against naively showing his true self so he wouldn’t get bullied. He would care about being masculine or enforcing gender roles. Yet the majority of the time he doesn’t seem to understand the deeper intricacies of these topics like the other boys do. Otherwise he wouldn’t enjoy himself as Marjorine in the self expression and acceptance he’s given. Otherwise he would understand what was happening in Cartman Sucks.
Yet in early seasons Butters is implied to study often to avoid being grounded. He’s shown to be a relatively smart side kick when he’s not being tricked into believing the world has ended and he’s the last person alive. Tbh I believe he would be a lot smarter if he wasn’t largely plagued by a bended view of reality because of the ongoing psychological trauma he receives from his parents.
He loved being Majorine, he doesn’t want to be a faggot. He’s harmed most times he expresses himself, he continues to anyways. He’s seen as a cringe outcast yet can summon a whole crowd with a tap dance performance.

True Colors: An Emotionally Fantastic Serious Game Changer.
If we’re to look back at Reunion as Season 1′s dramatic pay off for Amphibia’s message of toxic friendships, as Anne & Sasha’s conflicting dynamic showed us, then True Colors is a colossal expansive note on this big theme of the series. True Colors makes Season 1′s finale look like a walk in the park for what angst goes down between our three main heroins in Season 2′s climatic resolution. Everything that can go wrong does go oh so painfully wrong for these three kids. Anne, to no one’s surprise, gets double crossed by Sasha leaving things between them a Hell of a lot more bitter than they were previously, as if that couldn’t already be topped when Sasha tried to kill the Plantars before. Anne has had enough of her lies and manipulation not being afraid to tell Sasha straight up how awful of a friend she’s been in general, even hitting her where it hurts most of all saying, “No, I’m done listening to you! I’m done trusting you! You’re a horrible person and I am done being FRIENDS with you!”, going so far as to get a shaken reaction out of Sasha dropping her brave face act, making this girl try to wipe away the frog family.
Right off the bat, True Colors makes it highly evident this isn’t just another story of stopping a bigger threat, but one hitting much closer to home, overall. Yes, King Andrias is certainly a dangerous villain, who makes his presence and intimidating nature known to the others by True Color’s final act, which despite this Amphibia isn’t entirely putting him at the forefront, rather focusing on a more intimate study of Anne, Sasha, and Marcy’s big emotional conflict. This finale knows exactly where to put its focus of importance on, so I love that instead of it being action packed we’re getting the spotlight shined on just how screwed up these three of a friendship have, in spite of Marcy claiming in The Dinner episode, “We’re supposed to be friends for life. We don’t split up!’ . Very ironic stuff right there, indeed.
Tumblr media
True Colors’ most powerful strength it adds to Amphibia’s ongoing profound story about healthy friendships is the thorough deconstruction of these girls defined “ideal relationship” as people. Before Anne came to the world of Amphibia this kid was afraid to stand up for what she believed in, even knowing especially well that stealing the calamity box was morally questionable, but did it anyway. Sasha was super manipulative, abusive, and used her power to control people, like she did a lot of toward Anne in their lives. Marcy, while very smart, wasn’t the most competent physically, who soon grew into being more independent without needing to rely on Anne always having to be there for her. These three were changed immensely by the events of being thrust into this world of sentient amphibian creatures. Anne benefited morally most out out of all three in taking up the mantle of responsibility and ironing out her own issues. She’s become a much stronger person all around.
This episode asks us an important question though in nutshell with, “Have Sasha & Marcy truly changed for the better?”, since Anne has reached a point in her arc feeling genuinely content with who she’s become and the bonds that have been made with the Plantar family shown most notably with Sprig Plantar. Hence the whole purpose behind the song, It’s No Big Deal, with Anne feeling proud for who she is, yet not noticing a bigger issue right underneath her nose. That previous episode was meant to bring Anne’s happiness up only to bring it all crashing down in a devastating display of new revelations in True Colors. Every dramatic emotional beat isn’t just earned. Each significant moment is completely knocked out of the park by terrific voice acting, beautiful animation, and music composition that gave me serious emotional goosebumps. True Colors did exactly as Not What He Seems accomplished for Gravity Falls in shaking up its own respective dramatic stakes just when you thought it couldn’t get any higher for these protagonists. Shit seriously hits the fan here.
Tumblr media
Did it ever occur to you, Anne? Sasha? That one of you knew more, than she was letting on? That ONE of you might’ve gotten you stranded in Amphibia on purpose...?
The big bombshell twist of Marcy playing a part too in getting them into this whole debacle completely flips everything upside down. Sasha pushed Anne into taking the Calamity Box, yes, but if Marcy never sent that photo because of her desire to stay with them together forever, then they wouldn’t have been stranded in basically a world full of dangerous creatures and who knows what else. Easily my favorite part of the episode, considering it adds more nuance to a situation that defined Amphibia’s story. It wasn’t just one person’s fault at the end of the day. Sasha bullied Anne into taking the box, Anne didn’t put her foot down to make a stand for something morally questionable, and Marcy took advantage of them both to benefit her own selfish desires for supposedly a “happy ending” not involving them staying apart, due to her parents moving away for a new job. All three girls played an important part on why they got landed into Amphiba. It’s why Anne’s statement to King Andrias, “The three of us may have made some mistake, but you...You’re evil and I’m gonna stop you!”, holds such a real weight to it, as this story continues to solidify how genuinely fleshed out their dynamic is.
Marcy’s super desperate plea to be understood by Anne & Sasha when Andrias revealed her getting them thrown into Amphibia purposefully was hard to watch. On one hand, I felt for Marcy because she didn’t want real life circumstances to tear apart that close connection she had to Sasha & Anne. Sure, she could’ve just kept in touch with them over the phone or chatting online, too. However, Marcy had known them since very early childhood. When you’ve been so attached to someone it can be a devastating thing, depending on just how vulnerable you are emotionally, to start drifting apart. Marcy represents that embodiment of toxic need for togetherness and couldn’t bear to let a possibility, like moving away, throw a wrench into her happiness and friendship, as well.
Never mind Marcy wanting to stay permanently in a different reality, rather than face her’s, but it made this person feel like something more. It gave her a chance to feel truly special in being able to live out a fantasy dream of having such power and freedom that a kid, like herself, couldn’t have had. The freedom to know she is plenty capable of making it out there on her own without Anne having to watch this kid like a hawk. So, to have someone, or something, try taking it away from her terrified Marcy of facing a terrible truth. That she isn’t strong enough after all to live a life without Anne & Sasha by her side completely, where Marcy will never feel truly worthy enough to blossom into her own person. It’s why that line, “I just...didn’t want to be alone...”, carries such a deep pain to it all. Marcy just crumbles into pieces accepting her greatest weakness. As much as Marcy fumbled the ball big time, it’s so easy to empathize with her on the idea of feeling competent enough. Marcy never meant to hurt Anne or Sasha, but the sad crushing punchline is she very much did.
Tumblr media
Speaking of which, Anne had every right to be upset and mad, obviously. Anne has been missing so many things from her life before everything went off the wall. Hopping Mall especially highlighted Anne’s emotional desire to give anything just to hear her mother’s singing again. This teenager has been really dealing with a lot of grief in general quite honestly. Anne got into a high stakes battle against Sasha to save new friends, who’d practically became like an adopted family, which left the poor girl traumatized and heartbroken over the end result. She thought finding Marcy would help compensate for it and eventually be able to mend those complications with Sasha to boot. It’s simply painful to see it all blow up in Anne’s face to know not only Sasha betrayed her trust yet again, but realizing Marcy also played a part of responsibility in getting them thrown here. Matt Braly really just decided to slap future trust issues onto Anne finding out Hop Pop, Sasha, and Marcy were all super dishonest in their intentions at one point or another. Damn, I feel so bad for her.
It makes their embracing hug back in Marcy At The Gates so much harder to watch. Anne was super glad to see her again. Anne had wondered what became of Marcy or even possibly started to think she could even be alive at all. Then come to find out later on Marcy having intentionally ripped her away from a normal life must’ve felt worse then what happened with Sasha. Anne, already done with all of Sasha’s bullshit, thought she could at least expect better from Marcy not letting her down, but that too wasn’t the case. Marcy is very much as flawed as Sasha in what she has done. To think, Anne wanted so badly to get back home, yet she’s staring the very person dead in the eye, who ripped her away from it to begin with. Marcy knew Sasha would talk Anne into taking the box from that thrift shop, even if she wasn’t completely certain it would successfully teleport them away. Regardless of whatever good intentions someone can have in why they did what they did, it still doesn’t absolve them of said mistake. Fact of the matter is, Marcy tragically made her own bed, by choosing to mess with forces she couldn’t begin to comprehend and now has to face consequences, in spite of her not deserving them.
What really got to me was when Marcy tried to spin around Anne’s personal growth and close friendship with the Plantars as all entirely thanks to her. When she said, “I gave you this! I gave you everything!”, I was like, “Nope, that couldn’t be any further from the truth.”, seeing everything that has culminated in Anne’s journey of bettering herself. Marcy didn’t give Anne anything, but a one way ticket to cutting the kid off from her family, presuming she’d be fine with this idea. It’s all kinds of messed up, however what it boils down to is Marcy undermining Anne’s independence and agency. Anne’s moral judgement in decision making was what allowed her to create this new life she made for herself in Amphibia. Anne’s honesty as a whole led her down a path of togetherness, while Marcy’s lying landed her in a result of not wanting to be alone, costing her so much.
Tumblr media
“I don’t believe this. We were so focused on each other we couldn’t see what was right in front of us!”
True Colors excels at earning each of its emotional beats because they line up with character motivations down to the last letter. Anne doesn’t want to trust Sasha anymore because of their already rocky past, which leads to her helping King Andrias regain control of his kingdom. Sasha not keeping a lid on her temper, wanting to rule over Amphibia, and trying to reinforce that power dynamic with Anne & Marcy only made things worse for her image of a changed good friend. There wasn’t a chance in Hell Anne would hear Sasha’s reasoning after she flat out tried to take away her frog family, by attempting to use the Calamity Box a bit ago in the episode. Marcy wanted to believe there was a happily ever after in seeing this world traveling idea as their only chance for salvation as friends for life, but it turned out to be something much more sinister, when learning of Andrias’ backstory and his true scumbag nature. All three of their motivations come clashing together, blinding them from a much bigger danger. Something that effectively puts everyone at stake.
Amphibia’s Season 2 finale works so excellently, given it covers important dramatic elements it’s been stirring around since Season 1′s early rumblings. Amphibia is a story centered around people’s need for emotional connections. True Colors builds miraculously off what Reunion already did quite well in showing friendships can become rough and they are never easy to deal with. When you have to make a stand it can be a tough pill to swallow on the reality check of maybe this “good friend” of your’s isn’t as nice as you previously thought them to be. Anne having been hurt one too many times now by her former friend sends that message close to home, so much so even Sasha begins to question her morality as a human being. It poignantly encapsulates how this trio’s complex friendship is a serious growing issue needing to be reexamined, overall.
Tumblr media
What if Anne’s right..? What if I am a horrible person...?
Something I absolutely love to pieces about True Colors, also a testament to Season 2′s darn good writing, is how much introspective we get from each character on what they’re feeling. We’ve seen plenty of Sasha’s vulnerability before in other episodes centered on her issues, but now we’re getting to the root of it. Sasha is really taking everything more to heart, little by little. Sasha’s understanding what kind of an effect she has on people, seeing the damage it has caused made evident by Percy and Braddock in Barrel’s Warhammer. Grime once told her, “Some dreams have a price and not everyone is willing to pay it.”, where she’s questioning that idealism every passing minute the invasion plan proceeds further into reaching success. Sasha isn’t sure what to do with herself anymore feeling aimless. Those previous episodes had a real impact on her priorities more than she cared to let on with Sasha’s typical tough girl act. This kid has let her guard down more, which scares and confuses Sasha. She’s always used to playing the role of protector it contradicts everything Sasha stands for when the roles are totally reversed because now Anne has made her feel the tremendous change in their growth as individuals.
Sasha’s lifestyle has been all about control that after somewhat learning to be more considerate to Anne & Marcy’s feelings she feels beyond conflicted about what truly matters to her. The most screwed up part of it all is Sasha didn’t want to fight anymore, taking up a pacifist approach after seeing what King Andrias had been hiding from everyone. It’s a fitting punishment for Sasha to try bringing Anne over to work together once more, but getting her pleas for companionship outright ignored. Anne was correct that Sasha had wasted all the chances to be reasonable. Boonchuy tried to hear out Sasha before at The Third Temple. One wanted to start things over again to iron out their serious issues, but the other was driven by bitterness, while only remorseful to a degree at best, of seeing their once weak friend become so independent, mature, and stronger that it drove her up wall. Sasha wanted to take away that “problem” being the Plantars, since in her eyes they’re the source of Anne’s strength, driving a wedge further between the two girls in their heated Reunion 2.0 battle.
True Colors demonstrates the horrific price of no trust, communication, nor teamwork from the three main girls that Andrias smoothly took advantage of, as if they were fiddles.
Tumblr media
“That’s the thing about friends isn’t it? The more you love them, the more it hurts when they go.”
King Andrias is quite literally what I wanted Lunaris to be, where DuckTales’ Season 2 finale didn’t impress me on doing. He’s a serious big baddie to the main cast, who follows through on his threats of violence to demonstrate his wide array of arsenal and power. Andrias doesn’t just emotionally manipulate characters, like poor Marcy, but utterly crush them without an ounce of remorse for his actions. When he dropped Sprig out that window after Anne willingly let him have the Calamity Box back I thought they were legit gonna kill this boy off. The way Anne’s flashback montage of her good times with Sprig were eerily shot really didn’t help either on that note. Anne’s Calamity power finally activating is easily up there among stuff, like Dewey risking his life for Della’s disappearance in Last Crash, where the cinematography is shot and animated brilliantly. You feel Anne’s blind raging sadness in every hit she landed on those robots and Andrias. If anyone didn’t believe Sprig was like a little brother to Anne, then I dunno how anyone couldn’t view their bond anymore as such after this hugely defining scene. Anne went bloodthirsty when she believed Sprig to be dead further evidenced when she hugged him in relief afterwards exclaiming, “Sprig!? You’re alive!? Oh, thank goodness...”, which cuts deep so damn much.
Tumblr media
Anne was ready to fight every one of Andrias’ troops in that castle to the death, if need be. Before Sprig came back from falling, thanks to Marcy’s quick acting, to comfort Anne, her only goal was to slaughter every opponent in that throne room, along with making Andrias pay dearly for even daring to lay a single finger on anyone of the Plantars. I’m not gonna lie, this pivotal power up reminded me so much Gohan turning Super Saiyan 2 after Cell curb stomped Android 16 into pieces with a smirk on his face. Anne Boonchuy’s maddening outburst is a classic testament to the idea of, “Piss off the nicest person and they’ll make it their mission to instill the biggest kind of fear/terror into you.”. showing this kid at her most vulnerable mental state, yet. Sprig & Anne’s cathartic embrace really messed me up in reinforcing just how these two respect, love, and would go above any of their limitations to help the other out. Sprig’s “death” scene was a masterful bait by the writers into making us think someone was gonna die and it was gonna be a poor kid, no less.
However, it was actually all just a bait and switch for the real, “Oh, shit. They really just did that”, moment with Marcy unexpectedly getting run through with Andrias’ gigantic sword. In a last ditch effort, Marcy wanted to atone for what she had a hand in getting them all into. Marcy was ironclad determined in making her own stand for what was right trying to save the people she endangered. Akin to what Sasha did in Reunion for saving Anne’s life, Marcy does the exact same here. Although, unfortunately this time, no one is here to protect Marcy from escaping death, like Grime catching Sasha from plummeting at Toad Tower. Marcy couldn’t react in time because she was so focused on helping her dear friends out. She wanted to prove to herself at least one time, “I’ve screwed up so much stuff with my friends. Maybe, just maybe. If I get my friends back home, it’ll prove I’m not an entirely crappy person for setting these events into motion.”. Marcy’s own deep seeded remorse is what saved Anne & the Plantars, while being the cause of her own untimely demise at Andrias’ hands.
This scene is what no doubt encouraged the warning sign for younger viewers Disney decided to make for them. It’s impressive how far Matt and his crew are willing to go for intense dramatic content. Andrias trying to crush Polly with his fist after destroying Frobo with casual ease, dropping Sprig out of the window from up sky high, and stabbing Marcy with his powerful sword displays his cold blooded brutality. Doesn’t matter who you are. If you get in the way of Andrias’ plans for multiverse domination, then he’ll throw anyone into their own grave, be it man, woman, or child. That’s the mark of a truly terrifying antagonist.
Tumblr media
Andrias didn’t care who had to be hurt or manipulated to get back the box, so he could invade other worlds with Earth being his next prime target for invasion. Marcy’s fate is a horrifyingly poetic statement, since Sasha stated to Anne in a flashback from Marcy At The Gates, “One of these days, she’s gonna get herself killed.”, with True Colors tying back to this line in a disturbing manner. Something that sends chills down my spine is we get to see the full extent of how far Andrias shoved the sword through her body. We don’t just see the entry point of where it hit her, but it even zooms out to show the whole thing. Real talk, I got serious Avatar The Last Airbender vibes from this scene. Reminded me so much of Aang getting suddenly zapped with lightning by Azula when he tried to enter the Avatar state. Marcy didn’t want to be alone so badly she ended up inevitably dying alone trying to send Anne back home to their reality. One Hell of a way to close off Marcy’s last moments in Season 2, until her inevitable resurrection happens in Season 3 now that King Andrias has her in a tube tank that looks tied to his master.
True Colors ends on a deeply bittersweet cliffhanger leaving the fates of Sasha & Grime totally unknown if they’ll get away by the skin of their teeth, or get captured by Andrias’ soldiers and robots. Anne finally returned home with the Plantars, but at a deadly cost of leaving her other close friends behind in Amphibia. After all the isolation, heartbreak, and endurance she went through with her frog family Anne finds herself at a total loss for words. Once again, Anne is in a state of solitude of not knowing if her friends are really okay or not, mirroring the start of Season 1 when she landed into Amphibia’s world. It’s safe to say to say that, “Finally me and it’s no big deal.”, lyrics have aged terribly for Anne’s realization of finding her own identity came at the expense of getting separated from friends she’s known since kindergarten. Definitely see Anne becoming a lot more protective of the Plantars now more than ever after watching Marcy drop to the ground from being stabbed in front of her eyes.
Tumblr media
Amphibia’s Season 2 finale is exactly how you capitalize on a winning story telling formula of dramatic writing, lovable characters with layered depth, and increasing the stakes of your story in an organic manner. True Colors is a finale that should be talked about for a long time to come, as it not only showed how worth the wait it was, but reinforces why Amphibia is a truly great series. It’s unafraid to take its characters to dark places in a way that feels totally earned.
Amphibia Season 2 is everything a sequel to a first film should be.

What do you think is gonna happen in ep 4 of DSN based on what we know rn ? Any ideas ?
Hiya Nonny 👋😊
Thank you for kicking my ass into gear. I've been tring to sort out the previews we've had to date for a while.
Last weeks guess came so late because it was a last minute throw together of half sorted previews 😅
So well done for stopping that repeating.
Don't suppose you could pull the same trick with my actual job? 😳 Update: I realise this ended up being barely any earlier than last week, but my brain decided to give me a sucky 36 hours, so it's actually impressive it's out this early. And there are even subs! Note: There's an ongoing game of outfit matching. I think most (non-university) outfits aren't going to be reworn. I presume they change after returning from uni Mon-Fri, and wear one day outfit on each of Sat-Sun. Note 2: Other than Mait, antagonists will probably not be referred to by name.
What do I think will be in ep 4?
This time I went more daring with more of a narrative than a list, so possibly none of it will be exactly right, but it'll be interesting to see if any is along the right lines.
So we start off the next morning with the delivery of photo guy. The twins are in different clothes, so I guess they kept him over night. Possibly Natsu sent a group message along the lines of "left Fiat with Leo; leave them alone for the evening. I think he needs a bit of time."
As for what happens next with the photo guy... frankly I've not a clue how far they'll take that or what they'll show us, but I think the basic conclusion of the scene will be that someone told him to do it and no, he doesn't know who.
From one of the stills it looks like Fiat turns up and ends up joining Leo on the couch while they're dealing with him.
Either before or after that we get the twins chatting outside, I've gone for after right now. Possibly Leo sent Tho out first and he's waiting for Aek as he checks his watch, they chat, and Tho leaves first. 🤔
With the arrival of the jealousy trailer, I'm going with this round of soft hand-holding happening after rather than before dealing with video guy. Fiat takes Leo upstairs to lay him on the bed, climb on top, and reassure him that jealousy (as much as Fiat loves to see it) is unnecessary. Which would suggest they don't get interrupted by the arrival of the twins.
This would be a Saturday, with the rain scene being on Friday.
The following morning we have a pensive Leo with a small gift - probably cake - for Fiat.
Fiat also does some studying in that top. Probably for school, possibly for other purposes.
In the following week, the girl makes her "threat" to pursue Leo, possibly buoyed by the few days the previous week Fiat had been avoiding him. Frankly, she is such a non-threat I'm going to keep putting her in the next ep until she appears again.
And specific to this episode, I think it could work as a nice contrast to Fiat being actually worried about Pobphan "going after" Leo.
I like the idea that it's because Pobphan is a "good guy" who anyone's parents would love to have as a son in law - a nice contrast to what Mait was saying in Ep 3.
Being based around how Leo's parents would feel goes some way to justifying Fiat having any fear whatsoever of losing Leo to another guy.
Leon's ridiculous photoshoot hopefully happens sooner rather than later.
During the week, we have Leon finding out Pob's name and having a few chats with him, including some light library stalking and Pob asking about Leo twice.
Overall I think this ep will give LeonPob a significant chunck of screentime.
Note: in the trailer with "Leo already has his man", the previous line was Pob asking "Leo is kind?". It was said over a title card so technically it might not be in the same scene. I think it will be, so I'm reminding people it was there at this point. It suggests to me that Pob hasn't talked to Leo yet.
I wonder if the thing Pobphan needs help with is somehow related to their father being a diplomat? Just because I can't imagine why else Leo would be the only one he felt he could ask for help. (Asking Leo rather than Leon would be due to his perception of Leo's greater reliability.)
Then the library scene happens on Friday. Leon promises to get to the bottom of Pob's intentions.
That evening we get hair-drying and Leo lying for who knows WHAT reason. (This t-shirt Leo wears multiple times 😒)
I think Leon turns up and says something, which makes Fiat decide to sleep in his own room, and Leon stays with Leo (Leon did say he didn't want to sleep "alone" at the main house).
Alternatively Fiat's unhappy on Leo keeping something about trying to find the video guy from him. I prefer the Pob option because I want that lie to be dealt with straight away.
I moved Pob talking to Leo to after the library scene in order to give Leon something new to say.
The next morning Fiat comes out of his room to Leo waiting for him. Leo apologises with a very cute cheek kiss and then Fiat walks away... trying not to be too softened up by that.
Leon ramps up his stalking of Pob, who gets increasingly annoyed by his presence.
Fiat and Leo finish talking about the thing that upset Fiat, and that issue is resolved.
I wonder if that girl will actually make attempts at chasing Leo. I can see potential comedic value in that. If her role is mostly completed within the ep, then the issue resolvement could end with pda at uni, and the girl being disgusted with their love. 🤣
Then ep 5 I think something cat related happens to bring Leon and Pob closer together. Meanwhile the team have a match and curly hair turns up.
Now it's bedtime for bunnies 😊

LiS2 Fanfiction recommendation list - updated
I updated the ff list I made a few months ago. As before, if anyone has any suggestions to add, I’m all ears. I divided the stories into three categories (Post-ending, AUs and Missing Moments) and all the ffs on this list are either completed or still actively updated.
POST-ENDING
Blood Brothers: To Puerto Lobos - And Beyond! by SerratedCucumber, in progress. It starts as the brothers break into Mexico and follows them as they try to build a life for themselves. I swear that I hear Gonzalo and Roman every time that Sean or Daniel say something: the dialogue is that good. 11,000 words for now.
*
Lone Wolf: The One You Feed by zeldanerdster, in progress. This work follows the "Lone Wolf" path immediately after events unfold at the border. Following that, it will chronicle Daniel's experiences for as far as they take him in an effort to reconcile the various open-ended resolutions of Life is Strange 2. Because LW didn’t break our hearts enough. 20,500 words for now. Lone Superwolf by Dreamprism, in progress. The ff begins with Sean’s death at the border and aims to show how Daniel got from the car to the “six years later” scene. The fanfic is written from the perspective of Daniel Diaz, similar to how Sean shares his internal thoughts with the player throughout Life is Strange 2. 17,000 words for now.
*
Parting Ways: After by koldtbold, one-shot. Sean gets to Mexico, Daniel doesn’t. Sean has a lot to do and think about. What I love about this story is that there’s much bitter and little sweet, but like in the game there’s an undercurrent of optimism, a feeling that tomorrow can still turn into a better day. 6,000 words. When There’s Nowhere Else to Run, by Autumnyte, in progress. It begins right after Daniel yeets himself from the car and follows Sean as he tries to build a life for himself in Puerto Lobos. I told Autumnyte that this story feels like a blanket: it’s warm and comfortable. No matter what issues Sean has to deal with, there is a pervasive undertone of "tomorrow will be better" that I think really captures the spirit of the game. He is done running, and he can now start to look to the future with hope. 31,000 words for now.
*
Redemption:
The Bravest Wolf in the World by RoodAwakening, 2 chapters left. Ask anyone for reading suggestions, and they’ll inevitably point you to this story, for a reason. Sean finds out he can use his sketches to time-travel, much like Max did with her photos, prevents Esteban’s death, and has to deal with the consequences as he tries to navigate the new life he made for himself. Wonderful characters, a realistic depiction of trauma, and golden dialogue. I love this Sean, I love the people in his life, I love his interactions with all the characters. 160,000 words (!) for now. A Howl in the Night by Bracco, one-shot. Sean is in prison, and Daniel is free: it’s everything that Sean had wanted when he surrendered. That means he can be happy… right? 28,500 words. Tomorrow's Horizon by AlariOdonell, in progress. A mysterious stranger recruits a post-bay Max Caulfield with the promise to bring Chloe back to life and to right a few wrongs along the way, like those suffered by two brothers. I am very partial to this story because it ticks every box in my list of narrative kinks: a well-written OC, an incoming threat, superpowers, misfits teaming up, IC characters, action and fuzzy feelings... 52,000 words for now, updated bi-weekly. Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want by DarkJaden825698, one-shot. After his sentence, Sean reconnects with some old friends and says some things he didn't get to say when he had the chance. This story is a warm, fuzzy thing where everything goes well for a change. I may also be very partial to the title: that song is tied to some of my fondest memories, so extra points to the author. 4,000 words. Spirit Realm: Road to Redemption by Sombraguerrero, completed. Sean has served his sentence, abbreviated by a lack of success on the authorities' part to attain burden of proof on the supposed major crimes. The public has run out of patience and has allowed Sean and Daniel to try and pick up the pieces, with as much help as they can get along what is once again a rough road. 21,000 words. Stay Strange by DarkJaden825698, completed. Dr. Bright is assigned to Sean Diaz as his therapist in prison, and walks him through his trauma while trying to find him a lawyer to challenge his sentence. Crossover fic between LiS2 and The Bright Sessions podcast - you don’t know anything about the podcast? Me neither, and it’s not an issue. 32,000 words.
AUs
And All These Empty Streets by Riona, one-shot. After the apocalypse, Sean and Daniel have a run-in with Joel and Ellie from TLOU. I think that this is the story that made me realize how I love Sean and Daniel so much that I’m willing to read the weirdest AUs and crossovers so long. It flows really well and it feels natural. 2,000 words.
Riona has written a lot of stories that start from an unexpected premise and draw a little vignette. They are all different from each other and I loved them all. Check out her AO3 profile! Can you give me a hint by Idnis, completed. Teenage Daniel/Chris. If you like “mutual pining” and “dumb idiots in love”, this story will make your day. It’s just... fluffy and sweet and innocent, a tiny bit of teenage drama that Daniel and Chris deserve after everything they’ve been through. 22,500 words. Closer to the Heart by darkjaden825698, in progress. After the shooting, Sean waits for the police to arrive. He’s cleared of all charges and sent to live to Beaver Creek, where he must come to terms with what happened and rebuild a life for himself. A teen drama where nothing bad happens to the boys and they get to live normal lives? Hit me with it. 4,000 words. Double exposure by Riona, completed. It draws inspiration from *Your Name*: Max and Sean begin swapping bodies at random. If the premise doesn’t turn you away, it’s a beautiful bittersweet story about two people trying to help each other while their own worlds are falling apart. 11,000 words. Faithless by HollowK, in progress. Six years after the failed heist, Sean wakes up from his coma and has a brother to find. Exactly: oof. 6,500 words for now. I Took Both Roads, series by owlmug. AU where Esteban isn’t shot. Sean/Finn (with some Sean/Cassidy in the first story). It’s a coming of age story, and I really loved how the author mirrored some situations that are found in the game by giving them a new twist. I won’t lie, these stories hurt, because they made me think about what could have been. The characters are spot on, and the interactions of the Diaz family are golden. Bonus points for having Sean behave like a teenage brat at times, because the boy deserved to have temper tantrums and getting into fights with Esteban over stupid stuff. There are also a lot of beautiful images across the series, a lot of lines that feel raw and powerful, and a lot of healing. At times it’s like having a heart-to-heart with the author. Sometimes I felt that the sex scenes were too long, and some of them I found unnecessary, but that’s just my personal taste. I really liked all the four stories, but the last one is my favourite for sure because it follows Esteban’s point of view and it’s *chef’s kiss*.
 1.       A Way to Reappear (https://archiveofourown.org/works/19096837), 18,000 words. Sean’s POV
2.       A Piece of the Puzzle (https://archiveofourown.org/works/19386670), 26,000 words. Sean’s POV
3.       A Little left Behind (https://archiveofourown.org/works/19852561), 24,000 words. Finn’s POV
4.       (I’ve Been Going Through) a Change (https://archiveofourown.org/works/20562086), 28,000 words. Esteban’s POV.
If I Lay Here by owlmug, completed. Diverges from canon after episode 3. Sean and Finn try to track Daniel down. Sean/Finn, 46,500 words. I can repeat here most of what I wrote for the earlier series: wonderful characterization, beautiful imagery, touching themes, characters that find themselves along the way. Something that makes you go “Please, sir, can I have some more?” at the end of every chapter. i just don’t know how i’m doing (i’m so curious about you) by Larrymurphycansteponme, one-shot. Another High School AU, another wonderful coming of age story for Sean. I wish I could make it justice without repeating everything I said about owlmug’s series: spot-on characterization, a beautiful narrative about growing up and finding one’s way, wonderful imagery. It’s the story of what Sean deserved to have, and one of my favorite ever. 28,000 words.
MISSING MOMENTS
A Night With Misty Mice by That_one_internet_lover, completed. It follows Sean and Lyla’s concert night that is mentioned in his phone chat in ep.1. It’s the first fanfiction I read after my endgame heartbreak: it gave me all the happy Sean I wanted, and even a bit more. The dynamic between him and Lyla is exactly what I pictured from their interactions in the game, put into words by someone who knows what they’re doing. 10,000 words. Astray by Riona, one-shot. Daniel leaves Sean behind after the events of Wastelands. It’s probably more of an AU than a Missing Moment, since it was written before Faith came out and so it’s not entirely canon-compliant, but it’s still a very good window on Daniel’s state of mind after the heist. I’m eternally grateful to Riona for filling some of the gaps that the game left in the development of these wonderful characters. 1,500 words.  Fire and Floods by Riona, one-shot. Sean and Daniel go on the run, and this fic covers the first day of their journey. A spot-on dissection of Sean’s feelings after the shooting. 1,500 words. life is strange 2 poems by Spotsuns, an ongoing collection of one-shots. These stories have all the oooffness of the game. The stories in here hurt. In the good way, but they hurt nonetheless. Beautiful character studies, and some heavy-duty, post-ending feel unpacking. 11,000 words. Never Stop Shining by CorazonDesnudo, in progress. During his stay in Away, Sean receives a letter from Finn with an offer to help him and Daniel cross the border. It’s a chance to come to terms with a lot of things he didn’t really process before. 11,000 words for now. Torchbearers by Riona. Ep.1’s Sean and Daniel run into Max and Chloe among the ruins of Arcadia Bay. I can definitely see this story being a moment of quiet in the game. 2,600 words. What Remains of the Diaz Family by That_one_internet_lover, completed. Lyla sneaks into the Diaz household after the brothers have disappeared. Heartbreaking oofness ensues as Lyla walks through their memories and faces her own pain. 6500 words.

Biden Law, Five Years Lockdown Plan
2021-02-01 - Monday
Hello Pocahontas
Americans to be placed under Extreme Lockdown House-Arrest for at least 12 months, that is the plan. You will be stuck in your house like they did in China. You will starve to death and die. The plan is to begin this before 2022, as in as soon as possible. Your loved ones will die from Covid Vaccines which is already murdering hundreds to thousands of people. This is a hole straight down to the pits of Hell.
Canada Kidnapping Themselves
2021-02-02 - Tuesday
Biden, Harris, Napoleon Dynamite Voting Meme
When Canadians return to their home country, Canada, they're federally kidnapped, imprisoned in Covid Concentration Camps for many days, and then charged at least $2,000. Wow. Justin is so liberal. Let's all move to the Land of the Moose. 2 masks at least says CDC. Go to their website and read the article.
Try To Withdraw Money
If you try to take your money out of your bank, they'll flag you, stick the IRS up your butt. Just try it, I dare you. When you try to withdraw cash, watch what happens, and don't get me started with if you ask for gold when you try to cash out. Paper money was supposed to be an "I-Owe-You" check which is supposed to be exchangeable for actual gold, a place-holder.
All About Hive Blog

Picture of Joey Arnold
Hive is like Facebook except it pays you to post. Did you know Covid is also called SARS-COV-2? Wait a minute, whatever happened to SARS-COV-1? Did we have a pandemic for the first one? How are we already in the second one? Was I sleeping while the first one was going around? How many years ago was the first one? Is China stealing oil from Texas? Why was Joe Biden refused a Pentagon security clearance? There has been documented cases where people were missing over 90% of their brain tissue but where still able to function like a normal person. One person to even had just a thin layer around the inside of the skull. Literally an empty head and yet could still function as a human. They are destroying the second amendment right now. You have no idea.
Alex Jones and DR. STEVE PIECZENIK
2021-02-04 - Thursday
Trump Terminator
Big interview between Alex Jones and DR. STEVE PIECZENIK today, 2nd hour of the show. The dollar could lose over 20% of its value under Lord Biden before 2022 and much more the following 12 months. It is likely the dollar will die sooner or later meaning you must convert your dollars into something else while you still can. This is financial advice. You have been warned. Your money is on fire but not in a good way. You're leaking value each day. You might as well give me your money as you're losing your money each second. You're wasting your money as you let inflation destroy the value of fiat. Was the Burma Election stolen like it was in America? If you think Biden won, then you do NOT know who won in Burma. I don't care what military is doing. Who won the election in Burma? I'm asking who got the most real votes excluding the fake votes. I want to know who really won. Please let the REAL WINNER be the leader of what you call Myanmar. Whoever actually won should be allowed to run that country, period. Military should help whoever got the most legal votes in that nation. Period. I don't know who won. I am just saying let the real winner have the power, good or bad.
Fall or Rise of Empires
This is what Mike Adams said today. He said something bad could happen over night, that is to the extent the dollar crashes, they'll try to blame the crazy Redditters, the conservatives, for destroying the money, they'll come up with crazy excuses, conspiracy theories, and then say how they saved us by giving us Biden Coins or whatever they want to call it. They are trying to have one centralized global digital currency, no cash, no decentralized cryptocurrencies. So, I agree this could happen at any time, especially if three or more stimulus checks come out in 2021, as they spend more and more money, as people demand silver, gold, etc. The centralized banking system could fall in the next few years or sooner. As that happens, either the good guys or the crazy globalists and baby eaters can take over as that happens. So, in other words, we are in a major transition in global history similar to the rise or fall of other great empires like that of Rome, Babylon, Persia, England, China, etc. But I can't say if we are in the middle of the fall or the rise of an evil authoritarian regime.
Are you ready for Weapons of Mass Distraction?
2021-02-05 - Friday
Alex Jones
Happy birthday brother. Are you ready for Weapons of Mass Distraction? In order to buy guns in 2021 in America, you either have to right now or potentially soon will have to pay too many taxes, additional taxes, including gun related taxes, and pass a test which includes questions relating to if you want to own a gun. If you answer you want a gun, you fail the test because only crazy bad guys want guns. If you want a gun, pass a test. The only way to pass the test is to answer you do not want a gun. Once you answer you do not want a gun, then the genie in the bottle comes out and says in the voice of Robin Williams in Disney's cartoon movie, Aladdin, "As you wish." There were at least two 2020 USA General Election court cases which heard evidence meaning the other dozen or more cases were unconstitutionally dismissed by compromised judges. There is one case in Arizona which is leading towards potential ballot auditing. There may be other legal cases pending in other states in the United States of America. New court cases may rise. Others are ongoing. Some may be, if they haven't yet, potentially, refiled or retried. In some cases, you can do that. It's not double-jeopardy in some cases. It depends but you can sometimes do this depending on the details. A federal case for example could be then tried on the state level. That is not double jeopardy. You can pressure your local counties to call for ballot audits today. Join the revolution.
Nullifying Federal Executive Orders
North Dakota is planning to nullify (on a state level) unconstitutional federal executive orders. If you're not living in this state, you should either go there or encourage your state to call up North Dakota. Hello Texas, Idaho, Wyoming, Arizona, etc. In the world of rock paper scissor, you can see state and federal power. However, never underestimate the power of the county sheriff which trumps over them. You should make friends with your local sheriffs and talk to them about the rule of law regarding what you have to do in your county, legally speaking. Don't go against the sheriffs. Find out what they expect from you as a citizen of the county you're living in.
Amazon Spies
2021-02-06 - Saturday
Trump
Amazon vans have cameras actively spying on people, as in anybody and everybody as they drive around delivering packages, not just their customers but also neighbors and everyone else as well. They collect the data in order to develop a China Social Credit Score Database. Even if you're not on Facebook, they'll still have your data. If you do something that our overlords deem not right, your social credit score begins to go down and down. A lower Social Credit Score means you will not be able to buy and sell, travel, have food, have protection, have safety, have a job, have schooling, have a house, have children, have parents, have organs, have water, have power, have Internet, have apps, have trash, have doctors, have hospitals, have health care. When you call 911 and say somebody cut off your arm and you are bleeding to death, the operator will answer the phone and say, "Sorry, your social credit score is too low, please raise it to an acceptable level and try your call again. Have a good day. Good bye."

Cronyism Sucks

Cronyism Sucks
George Washington did NOT say, "My fellow Americans, read my lips, I hereby grant you some rights which we can then take away if there is a pandemic or if you feel a little unsafe regarding your neighbor's cannons." You can either help your state leave the United States of Satan or you can leave that state. A woman in Vancouver, Washington went to a hospital. Nurses and doctors tried to stick a needle in her arm against her wishes. She said no. The hospital called the police who came and kidnapped her for not breaking the law. No crime. The hospital and the police committed crime against her. And believe all women. And what if I told you she was black and black lives matter. And police are bad. The police might as well sell her to sex trafficking. Don't we want to defund the police? And I am Pro-Choice too. My Body My Choice. And none of your business. Thousands of people go to Oakes Farms Market in Florida daily without masks in 2020 and many of them go there seven days a week because it's the new Disneyland, the happiest place on earth, even some of their staff are 80 years old or older and yet are not getting sick. But if you do want to wear a mask, have at it. Hundreds of new customers come in each day from out of state, some come as far as like New York. You can tell they're new because when they enter the store, their jaws drop like as if they're cartoon characters.
Cash App
My Cash App is $joeyarnoldvn and what is yours? Let's have a party before the dollar dies. Let's come up with backup plans and come together in local communities while we still can. Now is the time. I will invest in a gold-backed cryptocurrency, as much as I can. Is there such a thing yet? Sign up to be a First Responder today, just call, not toll-free, at 1-800-Get-A-Gun-Duh. Don't kill your chickens, wait until they die of old age, say a little prayer to remember the wonderful life Chicken Little had and then get out your knife and prepare for a feast in honor of the life of the little guy. Study shows over 80% of Covid-19 Patients have vitamin D deficiency. Nurses stick stuff inside babies causing hearts to stop. After that, they try their best to restart the infant's hearts. Too many do die. It is covered up. You don't hear about it. Most viruses die in the air within seconds. Over 85 percent of child trafficking related things seem to be happening on Facebook Messenger.

Gold and silver are accepted as legal currencies in Utah, Oregon, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Missouri. Before 2030, globalists will most likely murder over 6 billion people. The good news is, number one, we can try to stop some of that, and, number two, regardless, you don't have to be one of them, you don't have to die, there may be only a billion people left on our planet soon. Come join me and survive this coming Holocaust. The greatest Holocaust ever. Save as many people as you can. But at the same time, you don't have to die. Get out of the big cities. Find a farm while you still can. You are running out of time. Find a community of like-minded people and get a room, I mean a community, a neighborhood, a state where you can find like-minded people. Do it while you still can.
Genocide Coming
Because there may be over 7 billion people who support the globalist agenda, they will end up dying most likely in the next few years. You must be prepared for this probability or worst case scenario. Every day you're still not dead yet is precious. You get what you promote. Justice is coming. There are consequences and rewards for the actions we take in life. Will you buy smart underwear which will be connected to the NSA? How do we detox from the lead which is in the soil? I have a friend named Tim Osman. Please don't Google his name. You can make money posting to blockchain social networks, I can help you sign up for free, no credit cards, no money required. I post on these websites and I make money. I did not put any money into them. You can take the money out. You can wire the money to crypto exchanges, banks, wallets.
Protonmail Banned Me on my 36th birthday.
2021-02-11 - Thursday
Protonmail Banned Me on my 36th birthday.
Protonmail Banned Me on my 36th birthday. Step one, find out how many people died annually for the last ten years in your country. Step two, please post those statistics for each individual year including 2020 in your report. We will copy and paste what you find everywhere. Thank you very much. Leftists say you have to say chest, can't say your baby is sucking on your breasts. You have to say human milk. You cannot say it is the milk of the mother. Oh My God. Russia killed the ALL-MIGHTY DOLLAR! I hate you RUSSIA! Are you happy America is becoming Venezuela in the next few years or much sooner because you do nothing, isn't that really cool that you're helping this republic and the world crumble? Are you excited as millions of people die? Do you wake up each morning happy that you don't care about this? Covid Vaccine has over 5 different viruses which it programs and mass produces in your cells to eat up your body from the inside-out, to attack the proteins, to kill your babies, to give you HIV, to kill your immune system and cause you to die from the common cold within months to the extend you're lacking enough essential vitamins.
Regarding Gold-Backed Cryptocurrencies
But the idea of a gold-backed cryptocurrency could at least in theory become a 2-in-1 deal where it might be backed by gold and yet as a fail-safe if all else goes wrong, if governments and others come in to confiscate the gold, you would still have something like Bitcoin or whatever type of cryptocurrency it may be. I see that as a potential two in one deal. Of course the risks, liability, privacy risks of having governments seek to imprison people for having gold which might be connected to a cryptocurrency, I understand that might be too big of a risk in some situations, it may be harder to be anonymous if police were to spot you holding some gold. Finding ways to stay as anonymous online in the mist of tyranny is a worthy cause and that is why I value the 4th amendment of the U.S. constitution. Cartoons and other children shows are actively singing songs and otherwise encouraging toddlers to wear masks, to not shake hands, hug, or get close to other people; to simply not be humans at all, this will scar these kids for the rest of their lives, deep intellectual abuse.

My brother joined Hive - When I Was Young, Busted Knees, No Helmets, No Limits
Mother cries as insulin for his son who could die without it costs more than $500 even as it only costs pennies to make. Biden did this. Watch the video of this mother in her car video. Listen to her passion as she speaks truth. They say even after everyone on the planet is vaccinated, we still must have lockdown globally, even in ten years from now. Are you happy for living on Planet Wall-E as Fat People stuck in The Matrix? Over ten million starved to death in 2020 thanks to people staying at home and being safe. We kept ourselves so safe, we ended up dying because we had no food. We are so scared, we make the problem worse. The odds of coming up with the exact numbers of the 2020 U.S. General Elections, Mathematician Expert Edward Solomon says there aren't enough stars in the known universe to have it come up by chance apart from electronic manipulation, statistically, it's astronomical, he went on to say there aren't even enough atoms in the universe. Biden won exactly the same percentage points across multiple precincts at designated times a day just long enough to put him in the lead. One example in Fulton County, Georgia on starting at 12:54 AM on Wednesday, the 4th of November of 2020, the percentage was set 5.5555%, and every 30 minutes to an hour plus a few times on Thursday, that is eleven separate times, each time it was exactly 5.555% percent, and that is humanly impossible to replicate by hand without the help of voting software.
Elmo Vaccine
Elmo got the vaccine and people on Sesame Street are locked in their homes like as if they were living in China. Children are being brainwashed. This is worse than sexual abuse. Green means you can travel. Different colors means different things under the Chinese Credit Score which is going to Europe, Australia, Canada, and is also slowly getting into America. If the centralized powers don't like you or your friends, then you can't work, school, travel, buy, sell, have your kids, have Internet, have a phone plan, health care, police care, fire care, water, sewer, garbage, food, etc. There is an alleged James Clapper interrogation audio tape which I'm listening to right now.
Shoveling Snow
2021-02-13 - Saturday
Michelle Obama, "Joe Biden, get your hands off my dick."
Before getting the Covid Vaccine, read the ingredients, the insert. And tell yourself, oh, I am putting this thing in my body, that is awesome. And oh, I am putting this other thing in my body. It is not a vaccine. Ignorance is Bliss. It's cool when you don't know you don't know something. It's cool when millions of people are likely to die or very close to it in 2021 because of Covid Vaccines.
Money is Dying
Cannot wait for the dollar to die. A study found that over 80% of those who got Covid were vitamin-D deficient. And the Flu magically disappeared during the winter. If you're going off the CDC website, you should make a list of the exact numbers.
Happy Valentines Day
2021-02-14 - Sunday
Joe Biden in like 2003
Happy Valentines Day. America has been dead for 209 years. They try to kill people via nano bots which goes into the body to cause flu like symptoms. That is fused with 5G, geoengineering, chemicals, waves, a variety of things working together. You must actively try ten times harder to counter as much of it all as you can, your ignorance is bliss, your children will suffer to the extent you try not to counter things you are yet to know. I repeat, things you are yet to know. Apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons a day but broken up gradually throughout the day, can help you. Encouraging healthy pH blood level balance minimizes cancer, detoxifies the liver, dissolves viruses, and helps the heart. The brain-gut connection. Is it true the last U.S. President to take the oath for the united states for America was back in around 1812? Has America been dead for over two centuries now? Did you know there is a star inside our earth? Biden is telling Americans to wear masks until 2022.
Reducing Zombism
Candida is a type of fungus which helps decompose dead bodies but the problem comes when the people are still alive while Candida is excessively growing and eating up your body even before you are actually dead. Therefore, you want to look at fasting, at starving those little guys at least once every ten years if not as often as you can to minimize how much of them you have inside of your biology. Borax detoxes fluoride from the brain. Inside your body are the bad guys, the fungi, which wants your body to die, and the good guys, which are the bacteria which wants your body to live, that is the civil war within your chemical makeup. The pineal gland in our brain is a spiritual window into the Supernatural Internet which transcends space and time, it truly is the third eye, but fluoride blocks it. Does the earth have two moons?

When immigrants come in, as they do right now, they are NOT being tested for anything really, they can pass on diseases to you and you are not allowed to do anything period.
Texas Freezing

Girl from Firefly show
A 28 YEAR OLD WISCONSIN MOM DIES DAYS AFTER SECOND PFIZER SHOT. Why are kids sneaking out of the White House? Is Tom Cruise part of an off-planet corporation called Umbrella? You can find really old videos on the Internet of really tall people, some of them may be 14 feet tall or taller as you can see people and horses almost reach the height of this man's knees. Did you really think those videos were fake? Many times you'll find truth hiding in plain sight. Truth is often lying underneath your nose all along. This takes the Mandela Effect to a whole new level. Is the South Pole actually the North Pole? It's below zero degrees in Texas right now, they refusing to turn the power back on as people freeze to death, they're shutting down stores as people starve to death, and they're refusing to plow roads. You can literally watch videos of giant semi-trucks crashing into other trucks, at least three giant trucks, one which was going at least 70 MPH and the others were going pretty fast too, several people died in just that pile up alone.
Who is Oatmeal Joey Arnold?
I am single, 36 years old, I live in Shelton, I am Christian, no kids, I live with my parents, I don't wear a mask ever, I listen to Alex Jones, I love Trump, I am a little bit crazy, I don't work. I don't have a job. I just sit on a computer all day writing on my blog and that is it. Was the inspiration behind the Star Gate movies and shows stolen from the Native American Indians? Weather manipulation meetings at your local town hall in a county or state near you, why are you not there to ask them questions? Things got so bad in India that they created a task force and then ended up banning the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. That's how EVIL India is. Hey folks, how could India keep out our SAVIORS? We all know Bill Gates is the second coming of Jesus Christ. Kissinger wrote a report back in the 1970s regarding how to control the African population.

White Culture Dont Have Any Joke Yes We Do
Texas Dark Winter to last for weeks, people are freezing and starving to death, people are so excited as the globalists take over the world, Biden said the Dark Winter was coming, he was right. Be prepared for a new biological weapon, a new Covid disease, coming either this year in 2021 or at least before 2025. It will kill at least 4 billion people. Don't tell me I didn't warn you. I'm on record trying to tell you how bad things are. If you're reading this, you're guilty of not caring. Please, do something. The clock is ticking. Will China be aiming nuclear weapons at 24 targets across the globe, will it be real, will it be staged, will it be an excuse to lockdown the world, what is going to happen? Will it be exactly 24 different places in different countries around this planet? Will this be a good thing or a bad thing? Will the good guys or the bad guys be able to take control of whatever that might happen in February of 2021? Will it be any day now? Will people fall for false flags? Is there anything we can do right now?
Bill Gates Over Biden
Biden won't speak to world leaders. Boris Johnson said Bill Gates is really the head of the G8. This is how globalism works. They're getting the general population used to the world being run by technocracy. In a secret video, Mark Zuckerberg told his Facebook staff he didn't trust the Covid Vaccine. So, why isn't Mark telling his 2 billion users this? Why keep such a thing a secret? In the 1960s, America asked Russia to start a world war against China but Russia declined. That was declassified.

1776 Put Mask On Americans No Way
Funny story today, somebody used photoshop to try to fool me ahahahahhaaa! Biden is taking over the Texan Power-Grid, red alert, warning warning. We know their plan. We know the patterns. They'll say deadlier strands are out there now. This will likely be by the fall of 2021 if not a lot sooner. The strands will generally be less deadly. But it's extremely coordinated, scripted, they will all try their best to make you gulp down this Kool-Aid of Death. Shifting into Techno-Scientific Dictatorship, they're phasing the general public to accept this shift in world history globally, most people are stuck in a trance and they do NOT even know it. Even if you tell them, they will say to you, "You are crazy." THEY'RE PUTTING CHEMICALS IN THE SKY THAT MAKES THE SNOW GAY. The power grid was an attack on water-power devices, especially in the 1930s. Some people had water-powered devices. They didn't need electricity because they water-powered devices.
Scaring Children to Death
A ten year old was admitted to the hospital because he was losing weight because he was refusing to eat for so long because he was afraid he would get Covid and die. Sergeant Major said they don't call it a Lie-Berry for nothing. Did you know they used to have water-powered mechanical devices? You were not told real history. A lot of stuff covered up. Why not get back to water power? Aren't you even just a little bit curious? People had free electricity thanks to tap water in the early 1900s. So, why would people give that up? What happened? Why trade that in for a monthly electricity bill?
We Need County Coin

Steele mentioned the idea of CountyNet. Also, he mentioned an idea of a CountyCoin which loses value the farther away from the county the coin moves in order to incentivize investing back into the same community as opposed to going excessively and obsessively overseas aggressively, as in too much and too often. I confess I fell for fake news when I thought Babbit died. I was wrong. Steele says Wall Street and others stolen 100 trillion dollars. People in power plants in Texas were ordered to lower down, to power down to zero percent in most cases, the documents are here, you can read the documents, they were ordered to do this on purpose, this is KILLING PEOPLE, and YOU DO NOT CARE. Do you have no friends or family in Texas? 2021-02-14 - Sunday - 08:51 PM EST - The 14th of February of 2021 - DOE Order Number 202-21-1 was issued for Texas (ERCOT), for more info, go to Energy dot gov, their official government website.
Texas Being Murdered
The Department of Energy (DOE) was ordered to turn off the power in Texas which is causing people to die. They're literally murdering people and nobody cares. The evidence is right there, we can all grab and share it. But nobody cares that thousands to millions of Texans are starving and freezing to death. I said, to death. The Department of Energy told Texas they CANNOT produce more energy, that is why people are dying. DOE Order Number 202-21-1 mentions ERCOT (ISO), this document can be read on their official government website, you can go there, you can read it, you can pass it on to your friends, or you can let your friends die in the cold in Texas with no power. Texas electricity bill for your power, just this week now, went from $50 per Megawatt to over $9000 per Megawatt. Breaking News,  Megan Fox is an Anti-Masker which means she is Pro-Vitamin, we are all going to die.

Stores are not legally allowed to discriminate or disrupt commerce which comes from even the customers who refuses to wear masks. Stores can say it's private property. However, because the stores are open to the public, thanks to the 4th amendment, thanks to other things as well, prohibiting customers is discrimination among other things as well. The maskless buyer is not trespassing if he or she is not disrupting commerce. Moreover, when you prohibit customers from stores, then you are engaging in the disruption of commerce which may be illegal among other things as well partly because the customers are part of the free market exchange system which we call commerce. Stopping customers means you are disrupting commerce. That is illegal. You should go to jail for disrupting commerce. It may be many different things, not just that. Stores and states must be held accountable for violating laws. Stores are public. They cannot enforce masks. Churches however are legally considered to be private and can enforce masks.

Sound of Freedom is a great movie. The only preparedness that counts is the preparedness that happens when you don't yet need it. One day without notice, you will wake up and you will go to an ATM and it will not work. You will have no food in your house for many weeks to many months or longer. It takes less energy to walk on two legs than it takes to run four legs. The majority of suicides are from white male adults. Second spot is held by black male adults. Why was Bill Gates thrown out of 32 countries? New monthly vaccines for the virus of the month. Are you excited? He said now we have to difficult work of "Untying this knot," that is code for crazy people have to be sent off to re-educational FEMA camps where they will either recant or be murdered.

The only time your name is written in all uppercase capital letters is on your tombstone and yet that is how it's formatted on birth certificates, when parents sign it IN CURSIVE LETTERS when you are born, that is necromancy. When they say you can't leave the hospital with your own newborn infant baby without signing it, that is theft or worse. Legally speaking, it is a literal death sentence as you are literally selling away your baby. You need to live in groups of at least ten people. Zombies will be coming from the big cities. Protect your family from the walking dead. Why are so many big people being arrested around the world each day? Why?

Please let me know such things were not signed. Please let your friends know nothing at all happened in 2019 at all. I'm only asking. I have no idea what happened.

My-Body-My-Choice No-Mask Sign
Masks Causes Bacteria Pneumonia. My-Body-My-Choice No-Mask Sign. Their goal is to make all humans unable to naturally reproduce by 2030. Why is South Africa cancelling the Covid Vaccine? There is also related news in Brazil, India, etc. See, people are dying from vaccines. They've been spending billions to trillions of dollars covering up vaccine deaths for decades globally. They murder people who expose this or worse in most cases. You have no idea how bad it is. Bill Gates and others are involved in giving vaccines to people around the world. That is why Bill Gates is banned in so many countries. In other news, there may be someday selling cloned synthetic children meat to encourage people to eat. Hell, they may have it ready already. Celebrity meat actually. The only we defeat this invisible enemy is to decide our own destiny. 80% of people who died of Covid in Canada were in nursing homes. 101 Pocketball Journal Scans Uploaded.
Covid Vaccines Are Murdering People
Why are over 75% of U.S. military troops refusing the Covid Vaccine? Because vaccines kill people. But more than that, the Covid Vaccine is not a vaccine. It utilizes mRNA which turns your cells into virus factories. That is what mRNA is. See, the M on mRNA means MESSENGER. This is Basic Biology & Science 101 For Dummies here. The vaccine literally sends messages or mRNA into the cell nucleus to tell it to make specific items. Covid-19 and the alleged vaccines in response to it are both GMO-like chimera monsters. They're a combination of different viruses, different things, I'm talking Frankenstein on a microscopic level. I've been talking about this many times. That is why so many people and so many countries are saying no to the vaccines. And again, the Covid Vaccines are not even vaccines to begin with. I wouldn't even be surprised if nano-tech is involved among other things in regards to these things which are murdering people right now. Sadly, they're blaming the mRNA deaths on Covid. So, they're trying very hard to make you think that you need to take monthly vaccines. And the more people die, the more they'll say, "Hurry up, you need even more vaccines, etc." Remember, they have spent billions to trillions of dollars covering up vaccine deaths. They murdered many people who tried exposing them. Fake news would never tell you all of this because they're fake news.

Alex Jones Predicting Covid-19 Back in 2010
Wear a mask or I'm calling the cops. Alright, call the cops. I'm suing them. In 2020, over 40 million alleged votes for Biden were fake. In 2008, it was reported that HAARP was learning how to steer hurricanes via high-atmosphere heat injection, kind of like guiding a kitten with a string. Watch out for Bioterrorism says Bill Gates. Which reminds me, kind of funny how Texas was suddenly colder than Montana. Wow. Out of nowhere. What happened on this day in 1933? Reich Fire. Hitler. Germany. Klaus Schwab says you will ONLY ONLY ONLY eat bugs and will love it.
What is in the Covid Vaccine?
Some of the ingredients for the mRNA Covid Vaccine includes some of the most commonly consumed things including vinegar, salt, sugar, plus a few very common preservatives found in so many food items. Too many people buy processed foods which includes preservatives in them. So, why are these commonly consumed items in the vaccine? It is there to trigger autoimmune responses in your body's immune system. It may takes years for your body to get there, but slowly over time, your body will begin to develop allergies to salt, sugar, vinegar, etc. These allergies may spiral out of control into even worse problems over time. Now, that is just the tip of the iceberg. But it is a good thing to start with and share with others. Don't believe me. Don't take my word for it. Go get a list of the ingredients to these vaccines and post them here. I will wait for your awesome responses. Thank you so much in advance for responding with the real list of ingredients. Prove me wrong. Easy to do. Just show me the ingredients. Show me these items, like salt, is not in the vaccine.

Covid Vaccine Ingredients
Your body will become DEADLY-ALLERGIC to YOUR-OWN-BODY. Why is Pfizer giving their customers one thing but their staff a different thing? Pfizer got a new drug out which is going to help people deal with one of the side-effects of their own vaccines. So, they make money trying to fool you into getting one and then even more money when you have to come back to take some of their drugs to deal with the deadly side-effects. Have fun, kids. You WILL swell up like a balloon. I warned you. Why were thousands to millions of 2020 ballots had computer-printed vote marks as opposed hand-written vote marks all for Biden and none for Trump?
Trump 2024 is Retarded
Downvote because Trump won in 2020. See, they can steal it from Trump in 2024 too. We have to call for FORENSIC-STYLE ballot audits in each county each day. Call people. Email people. You can make a difference. Call the military. Call Congress. Call judges. Write letters. Protest in person. Make videos. Write articles. Share things everywhere. Do something. If you are reading this and you are doing nothing, then you deserve Biden and the Chinese takeover of America.

A decade of dicks: How NSFW internet pics changed the world for the worse
Tumblr media
Has Jeff Bezos' impressive exposure of Pecker finally broken the curse of Weiner?
Oh yes, we all laugh at the double entendres in the news that the Amazon founder has accused the National Enquirer's owner of blackmailing him over compromising selfies. But it's a grim gallows chuckle, because we live in the decade of the dick pic — an age where one man's inability to keep it in his pants, and the technology that enabled him, literally changed the course of history by helping elevate Donald Trump to the White House.
That man's name, of course, was Anthony Weiner. The disgraced former congressman was not the first man to ever text a picture of his penis; we don't know who that was, but it probably happened about five seconds after the first camera-enabled cellphone went on sale in Japan in 2000.
SEE ALSO: A survival guide to dick pics (both solicited and unsolicited)
Rather, Weiner was the first politician ever to accidentally tweet a picture of his package, way back in 2011. The junk-filled photo was supposed to be a Twitter direct message to a student in Seattle he was corresponding with, unbeknownst to his wife, top Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin.
This DM fail heard 'round the world was the first in the three-act story of Weiner's downfall, and it was clearly a comedy — with Weiner's old buddy, Jon Stewart, leading the charge on The Daily Show. How innocent the jokes seem now; how little clue we had of what was to come.
Then came the second act, when Weiner ran for mayor of New York, and another couple of Weiner's correspondents decided to reveal their own dick pics from the congressman.
Everything about this scandal was captured by a film crew with full access, and you can see the result in the documentary Weiner, now streaming on Hulu. It's funny, but only in the sense of the most cringeworthy Office-style embarrassment comedy. Weiner emerges as a passionate politician paralyzed by his own self-destructive behavior. We watch his marriage to Abedin begin to disintegrate in a series of tense conversations and withering looks.
youtube
One of the most telling parts of the Weiner story was that he never met his correspondents. Usually they would reach out via Twitter or Facebook, Weiner would take things to DM or Messenger, and everything unfolded consensually — and digitally — from there. On election night, he literally runs away to avoid meeting one of his correspondents, 23-year-old Sydney Leathers, who had been egged on to confront Weiner by Howard Stern.
Here was the worst of our social media age in a nutshell: the sad sexting with anyone who would indulge him; the tragic, grainy pictures shared in chat windows by an older man who should have known better; a viral media frenzy sparked again and again by sheer titillation, exposing our baser instincts.
And then came the third act, where no one was laughing anymore. Weiner was caught in the summer of 2016 sexting with a 15-year-old, an act for which he was later jailed. Because he had sent some messages on a laptop he'd shared with Abedin, the FBI decided it couldn't ignore Abedin's emails on the same device. That led to the infamous Comey letters, re-opening and re-closing the Clinton email investigation a week before the 2016 presidential election.
Since the margin of Trump's electoral college victory was so slim — roughly 77,000 votes total in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania — we've been having heated arguments ever since about why it happened. Russian propaganda on Facebook was a factor. So was Clinton's lack of campaigning in Wisconsin. So was GOP voter suppression.
But the reopening of the email investigation is the only event where we see a clear drop for Clinton in the polls. In a post-election study, FiveThirtyEight found the net effect was a four-point swing to Trump — enough to put those three key states in the GOP column by less than a point. (The polls were, in fact, more accurate than we remember.)
There are so many if onlys here. If only we'd known what Cambridge Analytica and Wikileaks were really doing behind the scenes. If only Comey had told us that Trump's campaign was also under FBI investigation. If only Abedin had dumped Weiner after the first scandal broke. However, the ultimate "if only" is tied to Weiner himself: If only he hadn't been so tragically compelled to send dick pics, and/or been more open with his wife, the world would be a very different place.
It's a compulsion that, we now know, the world's richest man shares. But Bezos, thus far, seems smarter than Weiner. He didn't deny the story; in fact, he got so far ahead of it that his Medium post may well be taught in PR classes someday. He stood up to a bully with humor, grace, and full disclosure. All of which generated what seems otherwise impossible in 2019: sympathy for a billionaire.
And while Weiner's weiner brought us Trump, Pecker's pecker-related threats may help to bury him. We know that the National Enquirer was Trump's enabler in helping him to bury the threat of adult-film star Stormy Daniels' story of their affair before the election; we know that Pecker and Trump have both been unusually tight with the Saudi regime.
Bezos claims Pecker was trying to get him to disavow any connection along those lines. Bezos' security expert Gavin de Becker reportedly believes that Bezos' texts were intercepted via a government agency, but he hasn't said which one. He could mean the Saudis, the Russians, one of Trump's own agencies, or something else entirely.
It's early days yet, but we may be looking at the first ever geopolitical weaponization of a sext.
If the battle of Bezos’ pants turns out to be the Watergate of the 2010s, I’m officially quitting news https://t.co/vetUlqO1NN
— Chris Taylor (@FutureBoy) February 8, 2019
And there may be worse to come before the decade is out. According to the ongoing lawsuit filed to extricate her from a nondisclosure agreement with Trump, Stormy Daniels has "certain still images and/or text messages" sent by Trump. If she were to be released from the NDA, she could in theory release them to the highest bidder.
We don't know what that means exactly, but speculation has centered on the most horrific option: that Daniels has Trump's dick pics. Which would certainly explain why he was so keen to keep her quiet. As the sex writer Dan Savage noted with horror last year, Trump could break yet another norm by effectively providing the first presidential dick pic.
Of course, if that were to be released, it would be without the man's consent. Which would at least be a neat reversal of the usual patriarchal power play that unsolicited dick pics represent. But it would also mark a new low in public discourse — one that made the Black Mirror episode "The National Anthem" look like a cheery story about farm animals. One from which the intersection of technology and politics may never recover.
One thing's for sure — we're a world away from what the makers of those early camera phones would have ever expected. If they had, perhaps they would have paraphrased what Robert Oppenheimer said when he first saw his atom bomb in action: Now I am become dick pic, destroyer of worlds.

The Book I Need to Write A Long Fucking Time Ago (pt.1)
This is my final goodbye to you.
Because all my life, I’ve written down what I’ve felt.
Ever since I realised my head only had so much space for thoughts and I had to get them out, I’ve written them down.
And now I want to be happy, and I want to remember everything about you, but I can’t have both. And I can’t have you.
This is my final goodbye to you.
Our story, my memories.
Chapter One:
This is Ebony.
I was in year 4. I hated school, everything about it. I didn’t get along with the guys, I hated sports. I got along with the girls but that is gay, so I couldn’t really do either. I liked to read, but books were limited being a Christian and all. And we were only allowed one book a day.
This is the year I started taking the bus, which was a big deal for me because it was my parents telling me I was old enough to be trusted.
I would read on the bus, listening to the radio. But I sat alone.
A year earlier I was sitting in the counsellors chair, telling them my feelings.
“Every time they say something to me, it’s like my face turns to stone. My lips turn down, I can’t help but to cry, and then they’re mean to me for crying.”
“I want you to try this.”
She disappeared and handed me a printed out photo of the ocean. Fish, coral, all kinds of animals floating underneath a giant pirate ship. All uncoloured.
“Every day you get home from school, every moment you are in school and you feel like you can’t cope with what they’re saying, I want you to take this out and colour in an animal. Fill in a blank space. On the really bad days, fill in two. Then, if the photo finishes, grab another. And 2 things will happen. Eventually, you’ll come to realise it’s been a week since you last drew, then a month, and then a year. You’ll forget all about it. And, two, on the bad days, you’ll create something beautiful out of the pain.”
Mum encouraged me that I should at least try it. Dad didn’t say anything, because he wasn’t there. He never really was around for the emotional stuff, I think he didn’t really know how to cope or deal with it. And, I was more emotional than the other kids.
Here’s the deal. Do not teach someone to create beauty out of the pain, because eventually they’ll start to tell themselves that until something beautiful is created, it has to be held on. And they only ever feel talented when they draw, or eventually write, and then when they’re happy and unable to write because they don’t know how to write out happy thoughts, then they crave sadness.
So every day, I found myself sitting alone on the bus. I would be colouring photos, drawing pictures, watching out the window, but I was alone.
Then I met Jeremy, Aaron and Imogen.
Aaron was the first. Mitchell was busy throwing rocks at me while I was reading in the ‘Ark’, a giant wooden box that had a seat on both sides, with a walk way in the middle. Originally I was in the sand creating cities, an underground world like Tatooine or wherever it was that Luke Skywalker grew up, but Mitchell had destroyed that too. He was a bigger kid, kept down 2 years because he wasn’t the smartest. Meth addicted mother, father who just didn’t love him, but Chairo always had this thing about ensuring every year level had students, 70% who came from Christian families and 30% who came from, well from somewhere else. And boy was that Mitchell.
So I was in the Ark dodging stones as I tried to read, when Aaron came in with the teacher who sent Mitchell away.
Aaron was in my year level. Skinny kid, brown hair, 5 younger siblings who I often saw sitting on the bus. He introduced himself as Aaron and told me he wanted to help fix Dan-opia the stupid name I gave to my sand-castle city.
Aaron and I clicked instantly. I don’t know why, it was probably a majority to do with the fact that I didn’t have anyone else, but I was always grateful to the guy that rescued me from Mitchell.
And then he introduced Jeremy, the kid who lived next door to the school. A World War fanatic who’s first words to me were regarding the ongoing science experiment (he was a fucking nerd), that involved a Big Mac he hadn’t touched for 2 months (and I saw it at the 11 month point, it was genuinely interesting).
Jeremy went to the same church as I did, and we eventually would dress up so the pastor wouldn’t recognise us, meaning the other bought a friend to church which was rewarded with chocolate, something we never were allowed from our parents.
Jeremy and I would go on to collect Horrible History books and he would be the one to tell me that Doctor Who both existed on the television but not in the real world to save us from our troubles. From the day care centre I could never open up about or from his pilot dad that would disappear for months and come back, only to leave him with a bruise to remember him while he left again.
Jeremy was the one who’s house I would go to most nights when I was allowed, before basketball where we would sit and watch Doctor Who and cook recipes from the Horrible History books, or played mercy, a game we invented which involved linking hands and trying to hurt the other person more without breaking the grip. The first to yell mercy.
Jeremy introduced me to Imogen, the girl on my bus and my first girl who was a friend (the importance of the words ‘who was a’ was very important at this age).
Imogen was the smallest girl to this day I have ever met, and had 11 siblings either side of her. She was first on the bus and last to get off every day and sat with Aaron, and eventually myself.
And just like that, over the space of a week, I went from having no friends to having 3. Our group of four would sit in my ark every day at lunch and recess. One would play guard as the others took off their hat (a task that would be punishable with a week library ban and extra homework, we later found out). Every other day we played stop, running around the playground as one us threw the ball at the other. Imogen would go on to break her front tooth on the monkey bars as her after school aerobics allowed her to use them as a safe haven from the tennis ball we were throwing at each other.
Within a month we had our routine figured out.
Monday til Wednesday I would go to the after school day care, which is a horrible chapter in itself.
Thursday Jeremy and I would jump the school fence near the danger hill, a hill at the school that they told us snakes lived in but looking back they really told us not to go near it because we could probably hide around the corner and do drugs, had we known what drugs were. We would go to his house and watch that weeks episode of Doctor Who, and then play lego or read more Horrible Histories.
Friday was for basketball training and youth group, which led to Saturday, game day. Dad would always drive me because it was the first thing he was proud of me for. And then Sunday we went to church which meant Sunday night was for listening to the radio while mum and dad fought. It was never super aggressive, or abusive like you hear some stories from some families. But every night they would yell about whatever their shit was at the time.
And then we would repeat it, day in day out.
School was always shit, I hated the other kids and I especially hated Mitchell. But I had my colour page so I wasn’t allowed to be sad anymore.
I had two sisters, Lorin and Nicole.
Lorin was born after me, and loved sports but hated learning.
Nicole was born after her, hated sports but loved movies.
Some weekends Nicole would make us put on a play for mum and dad with all our toys which always led into a fight about who had to clean up.
Lorin was the reason I lost my two front teeth as she double bounced me on a trampoline.
Nicole was the reason that all of us kids got presents on each others birthdays, since she couldn’t go without getting something.
Lorin would eventually be the reason we got kicked out of the church and my parents would focus on her mental health than mine, which was only fixed when she got out into the real world and discovered drugs.
Nicole would go on to develop extreme anxiety disorder, and not be able to do a lot in the real world.
But for the time being, at this point in the story, they were each others best friends. Being a girl Nicole was put in my spot on the bunk bed sharing a room with Lorin and I was upgraded to the new bedroom, which used to be mums study. This only grew their bond, which made me feel even more alone.
Before Nicole, Lorin and I would stay up to all our in the morning, talking, laughing, and being supportive of each other.
After Nicole, Lorin had someone who understood her more, and I was quickly replaced. Especially since being in a new room meant I could no longer jump out of bed and talk to her at night anymore.
Mum and Dad were the only 2 other members in the family (Aside Candy, Lorin’s cat, which would come to be called Candy Tangerine Sparkles Scanlan over the years of Lorin’s indecisiveness). Mum and Dad tried too hard to be the perfect Christian family which resulted in a lot of thoughts being oppressed and issues never being resolved. They started one of the bible study groups of each of our year levels so they could secretly get a deeper insight into our lives, and were always trying to present us as the perfect children in the perfect family, which resulted in all their kids not feeling like they were ever going to be good enough (still trying now Mum, maybe this book will help).
So that was my life at this point in time.
And It is probably worth noting at this moment that there is no point to this book, other than to get it out of my head. I don’t think you’ll learn a lesson, I don’t think it will even be published, all I know is that I have a story, that not many people ask for before they judge how I behave, and I want to get it out of my head. Because right now, it’s floating around screaming at me every day, and I am hoping to fix this.
It was a Monday, middle of the school year. Mitchell had destroyed the comic book Jeremy got me from some market (a shitty WW2 magazine, Comando Comics or something, I hated them but Jeremy loved them), so I was colouring in my chair, finishing off the next photo in my collection of depressing days.
I looked up as the classroom door shut. She was tall, long Ebony hair, and skinny. All her clothes were new, her bag shining in the lights. Her hair was pulled back with a blue head band, and she walked in behind her mum, with jellies tied around her wrist. She looked around the room and then met eyes, as I tried to think of who this girl was. I had never met her before, or seen her on the playground. But there was something different about her. Which sounds like a cliche, but that is what made her who she was. She was my living love story, and this is that story.
“Just take a seat anywhere, I’ll be with you in a minute.” The teacher leant in and whispered in her ear as she picked up her bag.
She walked down the aisles of chairs as everyone mumbled words about her. She had dark brown eyes with a red mark in her left eye. She moved slowly and cautiously like she was desperately trying to memorise all of the faces in the crowd. She came and sat in the chair next to me, and started to grab out her bright blue and red stripped pencil case.
“Daniel,” The teacher was standing over me as I was staring at the girl beside me. I was transfixed on her. When you’re in year 4 you never really notice things about people other than whether they were a boy or a girl. My mind told me she’s a girl but she’s nothing like Imogen. Imogen felt like one of the boys, but this girl felt different.
When she smiled her eyes closed, and the dark brown would shine through as she opened them again. Her smile would crinkle on the right side of her face, and her lips were bright red. Her hair was so dark it was like light just disappeared into it. Her skin was pale right, wth brown freckles down her arms. Her nails were long and blue, as she taped them on the table nervously. She sat with her legs crossed, leaning on her left arm, as she stared at the teacher, staring at me. I have never seen someone light up the room like she did, and I couldn’t break my vision from her. I wanted to remember everything about what I was seeing, I truely have never seen someone so captivating before, and I was transfixed.
“Daniel,” the teacher said again, trying to break my sight, “I told her to sit here because her brothers and her go on the same bus as you, so I thought you might be able to show her around the school and help her with the bus. This is Ebony.”
Ebony.
My god how that name will haunt me for the rest of my life.

@whatif-no tagged me for 11 facts. i’m so glad!! :)
Here goes:
1. Cooking helps me focus and I’m allergic to deadlines. Whenever there’s a deadline, I’ll cook something; the more important the deadline, the more elaborate the dish.  Some people find this funny.
2. I remember things mostly as statements instead of pictures or feelings. This means that I’ll remember facts about what happened (where I was, who was there, what we did), but not a mental snapshot of what it ‘felt’ like. As a kid, it actually took me a while to learn to recall my family’s faces without reference. Overall, it’s neat, I guess, because remembering is like reading---but I tend to take a lot of photos so I can have the illustrations to go with it.
3. I never use swear words, not even most mild ones. I’ve kept the habit since I decided not to swear when I was a kid (my own resolution; the rest of my family swears lots).  Can be distancing: sometimes swear words are hilarious for jokes with friends, and sometimes “oh no, that’s awful” feels less from-the-heart  than “ ■■■■, dude, that ■■■■ing ■■■■s.” But has also helped me track my toxic beliefs easier: I felt really good when I included ‘sex’, ‘lesbian’, ‘gay’, ‘queer’, etc. in my lexicon, explicitly recognizing that these were not bad words. (I’m here & queer btw.)
4. I’m under a friendship jinx: whenever I meet anyone (anyone!!!) for the first time, I automatically notice all of the good things I like about them. This often leads to a disastrous friendship crush (some say “squish”) where I casually note their likes and preferences and construct fleeting plans for elaborate gestures. Not wanting to act selfishly or make people feel uncomfortable/ creeped on/etc., I tend to reign in any outward lack of chill, but the squishes persist. Basically, I’m a quivering mass of indiscriminate affection, please be gentle.
5. I have an almost surreal lack of navigation ability.  I get lost using turn-by-turn walking instructions on a smartphone. Whenever I rote-learn how to walk someplace, I have to learn how to do it all over again in different lighting conditions, walking the opposite direction, on the other side of the street, etc.  One of my more scientific friends loves when I’ll agree to walk to a particular starting point  and try to get to a specific destination under supervision. “Do you really not know where we are?” they say delightedly, “We’re like a block from your house. It’s just raining.”
6. I'm a Latin scholar. Well, I studied it in grade school, and on the side I really got into translating songs and famous poems into Latin such that you could still sing along in rhythm. I’m still really into the idea of Latin nowadays, but in practice I mostly just collect etymologies. I think words are really powerful and neat, and I think wordplay is a special kind of magic. (Could explain #3.)
7. I’m a minister of the universal life church and can  officiate weddings and funerals. ULC is practically non-religious and gives ordination to anyone who fills out their name in an online form. Some people consider this to be a cynical practice. I don’t --- I think it’s lovely, unpretentious, and egalitarian to ordinate anyone who asks, and I consider being ordinated a chance to decide for myself what it means to be a minister, to be mindful, and to help others. I’m not religious, but justice and service are my jam.
8. Humor is so important to me!!  Like, I automatically re-characterize even the bad parts of  my life as an ongoing absurdist comedy and it’s so precious to me that this has been a constant part of my life.  Not “cruel” or “clowning around” humor, but humor as a healing narrative, you know? In the same vein I love listening to friends and if we talk I will definitely try to find a ray of humor for you if I think it will help. Also I am very very weak and if you make me laugh i will not know how to react or what to do with myself (see #4).
9.  I have a piano sense: if there is a piano in the area I will find it and so help me i will play it if given an empty room and half a chance. I don’t read music, but I used to spend hours figuring out songs on my grandma’s piano  growing up, so now i can play some songs from the radio, and ghibli films, and steven universe and so on. I’m a big believer in doing things like this: not to be good or better at them, but just because they make you feel good. I also think music is a way of connecting to different points and feelings in your life (an addendum to #2).
10. I love positivity, fantasy, humor, and escapism in stories and have approximately zero tolerance for stress. So, hard pass re: angry dramatic misunderstanding, cruel tragedy, broken dreams, inventive or gratuitous violence, frightening situations, unsolvable dilemmas, etc. Actually, WTNV is a minor miracle in that its fun tepid spookiness hovers exactly at my level of  tolerance: I can handle like two or three episodes in a single setting with friends, but if I listen to one too many, I transform into a Bespooked Stressknot.
11. I have approximately zero tolerance for caffeine: If I have like coffee, tea, soda, or chocolate at any time after noon, I will find myself a few hours later doing something hideously repetitive and tedious like looking up ISBNs for all the books i’ve ever read, or making a cast list of all named side characters in my life, e.g. that I’ve sat next to on a plane. I enter a twilight purgatory doomscape where time has no meaning, pop song choruses take the place of thought, and true, godly action is impossible. Release comes near 5am when I slip into an unsettled dream-state. My well-meaning friends assure me that metabolism does not work this way and that caffeine absolutely cannot account for this behavior.
Cheers; that’s it for now!  I hope I did this the right way. Also, I feel too shy to ask other people directly to respond, but I really like this 11 facts thing and am interested in hearing everyone’s responses.

A Silicon Valley for everyone – TechCrunch
Editor’s note: Get this free weekly recap of TechCrunch news that any startup can use by email every Saturday morning (7am PT). Subscribe here.
Many in the tech industry saw the threat of the novel coronavirus early and reacted correctly. Fewer have seemed prepared for its aftereffects, like the outflow of talented employees from very pricey office real estate in expensive and troubled cities like San Francisco.
And few indeed have seemed prepared for the Black Lives Matter protests that have followed the death of George Floyd. This was maybe the easiest to see coming, though, given how visible the structural racism is in cities up and down the main corridors of Silicon Valley.
Today, the combination of politics, the pandemic and the protests feels almost like a market crash for the industry (except many revenues keep going up and to the right). Most every company is now fundamentally reconsidering where it will be located and who it will be hiring — no matter how well it is doing otherwise.
Some, like Google and Thumbtack, have been caught in the awkward position of scaling back diversity efforts as part of pandemic cuts right before making statements in support of the protesters, as Megan Rose Dickey covered on TechCrunch this week. But it is also the pandemic helping to create the focus, as Arlan Hamilton of Backstage Capital tells her:
It is like the world and the country has a front-row seat to what Black people have to witness, take in, and feel all the time. And it was before they were seeing some of it, but they were seeing it kind of protected by us. We were kind of shielding them from some of it… It’s like a VR headset that the country is forced to be in because of COVID. It’s just in their face.
This also putting new scrutiny on how tech is used in policing today. It is renewing questions around who gets to be a VC and who gets funding right when the industry is under new pressure to deliver. It is highlighting solutions that companies can make internally, like this list from BLCK VC on Extra Crunch.
As with police reforms currently in the national debate, some of the most promising solutions are local. Property tax reform, pro-housing activism and sustainable funding for homelessness services are direct ways for the tech industry to address the long history of discrimination where the modern tech industry began, Catherine Bracy of TechEquity writes for TechCrunch. These changes are also what many think would make the Bay Area a more livable place for everyone, including any startup and any tech employee at any tech company (see: How Burrowing Owls Lead To Vomiting Anarchists).
Something to think about as we move on to our next topic — the ongoing wave of tech departures from SF.
Where will VCs follow founders to now?
In this week’s staff survey, we revisit the remote-first dislocation of the tech industry’s core hubs. Danny Crichton observes some of the places that VCs have been leaving town for, and thinks it means bigger changes are underway:
“Are VCs leaving San Francisco? Based on everything I have heard: yes. They are leaving for Napa, leaving for Tahoe, and otherwise heading out to wherever gorgeous outdoor beauty exists in California. That bodes ill for San Francisco’s (and really, South Park’s) future as the oasis of VC.
But the centripetal forces are strong. VCs will congregate again somewhere else, because they continue to have that same need for market intelligence that they have always had. The new, new place might not be San Francisco, but I would be shocked just given the human migration pattern underway that it isn’t in some outlying part of the Bay Area.
And then he says this:
As for VCs — if the new central node is a bar in Napa and that’s the new “place to be” — that could be relatively more permanent. Yet ultimately, VCs follow the founders even if it takes time for them to recognize the new balance of power. It took years for most VCs to recognize that founders didn’t want to work in South Bay, but now nearly every venture firm of note has an office in San Francisco. Where the founders go, the VCs will follow. If that continues to be SF, its future as a startup hub will continue after a brief hiatus.
It’s true that another outlying farming community in the region once became a startup hub, but that one had a major research university next door, and at the time a lot of cheap housing if you were allowed access to it. But Napa cannot be the next Palo Alto because it is fully formed today as a glorified retirement community, Danny.
I’m already on the record for saying that college towns in general are going to become more prominent in the tech world, between ongoing funding for innovative tech work and ongoing desirability for anyone moving from the big cities. But I’m going to add a side bet that cities will come back into fashion with the sorts of startup founders that VCs would like to back. As Exhibit A, I’d like to present Jack Dorsey, who started a courier dispatch in Oakland in 2000, and studied fashion and massage therapy during the aftermath of the dot-com bubble. His success with Twitter a few years later in San Francisco inspired many founders to move as well.
Creative people like him are drawn to the big, creative environments that cities can offer, regardless of what the business establishment thinks. If the public and private sectors can learn from the many mistakes of recent decades (see last item) who knows, maybe we’ll see a more equal and resilient sort of boom emerge in tech’s current core.
Insurance provider Lemonade files for IPO with that refreshing common-stock flavor
There are probably some amazing puns to be made here but it has been a long week, and the numbers speak for themselves. Lemonade sells insurance to renters and homeowners online, and managed to reach a private valuation of $3.5 billion before filing to go public on Monday — with the common stockholders still comprising the majority of the cap table.
Danny crunched the numbers from the S-1 on Extra Crunch to generate the table, included, that illustrates this rather unusual breakdown. Usually, as you almost certainly know already, the investors own well over half by the time of a good liquidity event. “So what was the magic with Lemonade?” he ponders. “One piece of the puzzle is that company founder Daniel Schreiber was a multi-time operator, having previously built Powermat Technologies as the company’s president. The other piece is that Lemonade is built in the insurance market, which can be carefully modeled financially and gives investors a rare repeatable business model to evaluate.”

Adapting enterprise product roadmaps to the pandemic
Our investor surveys for Extra Crunch this week covered the space industry’s startup opportunities, and looked at how enterprise investors are assessing the impact of the pandemic. Here’s Theresia Gouw of Acrew Capital, explaining how two of their portfolio companies have refocused in recent months:
A common theme we found when joining our founders for these strategy sessions was that many pulled forward and prioritized mid- to long-term projects where the product features might better fit the needs of their customers during these times. One such example in our portfolio is Petabyte’s (whose product is called Rhapsody) accelerated development of its software capabilities that enable veterinarians to provide telehealth services. Rhapsody has also incorporated key features that enable a contactless experience when telehealth isn’t sufficient. These include functionality that enables customers to check-in (virtual waiting room), sign documents, and make payments from the comfort and safety of their car when bringing their pet (the patient!) to the vet for an in-person check-up.
Another such example would be PredictHQ, which provides demand intelligence to enterprises in travel, hospitality, logistics, CPG, and retail, all sectors who saw significant change (either positive or negative) in the demand for their products and services. PredictHQ has the most robust global dataset on real-world events. Pandemics and all the ensuing restrictions and, then, loosening of restrictions fall within the category of real-world events. The company, which also has multiple global offices, was able to incorporate the dynamic COVID government responses on a hyperlocal basis, by geography, and equip its customers (e.g., Domino’s, Qantas, and First Data) with up to date insights that would help with demand planning and forecasting as well as understanding staffing needs.

From Alex:
Hello and welcome back to Equity, TechCrunch’s venture capital-focused podcast, where we unpack the numbers behind the headlines.
After a pretty busy week on the show we’re here with our regular Friday episode, which means lots of venture rounds and new venture capital funds to dig into. Thankfully we had our full contingent on hand: Danny “Well, you see” Crichton, Natasha “Talk to me post-pandemic” Mascarenhas, Alex “Very shouty” Wilhelm and, behind the scenes, Chris “The Dad” Gates.
Make sure to check out our IPO-focused Equity Shot from earlier this week if you haven’t yet, and let’s get into today’s topics:
Instacart raises $225 million. This round, not unexpected, values the on-demand grocery delivery startup at $13.7 billion — a huge sum, and one that should make it harder for the well-known company to sell itself to anyone but the public markets. Regardless, COVID-19 gave this company a huge updraft, and it capitalized on it.
Pando raises $8.5 million. We often cover rounds on Equity that are a little obvious. SaaS, that sort of thing. Pando is not that. Instead, it’s a company that wants to let small groups of individual pool their upside and allow for more equal outcomes in an economy that rewards outsized success.
Ethena raises $2 million. Anti-harassment software is about as much fun as the dentist today, but perhaps that doesn’t have to be the case. Natasha talked us through the company, and its pricing. I’m pretty bullish on Ethena, frankly. Homebrew, Village Global and GSV took part in the financing event.
Vendr raises $4 million. Vendr wants to help companies cut their SaaS bills, through its own SaaS-esque product. I tried to explain this, but may have butchered it a bit. It’s cool, I promise.
Facebook is getting into the CVC game. This should not be a surprise, but we were also not sure who was going to want Facebook money.
And, finally, Collab Capital is raising a $50 million fund to invest in Black founders. Per our reporting, the company is on track to close on $10 million in August. How fast the fund can close its full target is something we’re going to keep an eye on, considering it might get a lot harder a lot sooner.
And that is that; thanks for lending us your ears.
Equity drops every Friday at 6:00 am PT, so subscribe to us on Apple Podcasts, Overcast, Spotify and all the casts.

How A Bad Boss Remade Himself As A Climate Hero
In December 2018, George Luber, a top climate expert with the CDC, declared himself the latest victim of the Trump administration’s war on science.
As Luber later alleged in a whistleblower complaint filed to the US Office of Special Counsel, officials at the CDC tried to censor work on climate change shortly after the 2016 election; this included canceling a major climate conference he’d organized, trying to take away funds earmarked for the Climate and Health Program he oversaw, and even trying to stop him from using the words “climate change.”
In response, Luber said, he fought back. Agency officials then put him under investigation, removed him from climate work, barred him from showing up unannounced to the campus where he’d worked for nearly 20 years, and tried to fire him.
His story, first reported by the New York Times and then covered by many others in the press, sparked widespread outrage from former government officials to climate activists to Sen. Bernie Sanders, echoing many other cases of the Trump administration censoring, ignoring, and undermining climate scientists.
But Luber’s powerful narrative, according to about a dozen current and former staffers and people involved in the investigation, was false. His ouster from the agency’s climate program, they say, was for a less heroic reason: He was behaving badly in the workplace, particularly toward women.
BuzzFeed News has learned that the scientist was kicked out of the CDC’s climate program shortly after five women on staff accused him of absenteeism, misuse of agency resources, and sexist behavior — including one instance in which he called a woman employee “a naughty girl,” another in which he shared a naked photo of himself with a subordinate, and several times when he joked about making an app for hooking up with twins and triplets. One black staffer alleged that Luber made inappropriate comments to her about race, and three others said that Luber repeatedly mistreated her.
As the CDC investigation expanded to include interviews with the rest of the staff, the allegations about Luber’s offenses increased.
This reporting is based on more than 1,000 pages of emails, calendars, text messages, sworn statements, internal CDC documents, and recordings, as well as interviews conducted by BuzzFeed News. Four of the complainants are going on the record publicly for the first time.
When BuzzFeed News asked Luber for an interview to discuss these allegations, Kevin Bell, Luber’s lawyer with Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, a government watchdog group, said that it would be Luber’s “first interaction with what could potentially be unfriendlier reporting.” Luber declined the interview request, but sent statements through his lawyer.
“PEER is defending Dr. Luber against dozens of minor and baseless charges levelled by CDC,” Bell said in an email. “The serious allegations about inappropriate behavior reported by BuzzFeed are not among the charges brought. PEER continues to assert that the charges against Dr. Luber were brought as retaliation for his advocacy for the efficacy and independence of the CDC’s climate and health program.”
In a follow-up statement, Luber explicitly questioned the character and motivations of the accusers, claiming their efforts “to paint me as dishonest, sexist, absentee boss, are absolutely false, and driven by personal agendas.”
Luber has dominated the public narrative, talking to the press about how the CDC censored him and winning accolades along the way. Meanwhile, the agency has remained silent on the investigation, which has dragged on for nearly two years. And the staffers who originally came forward are frustrated that, even at the height of the #MeToo movement, the allegations of sexist behavior have seemingly been disregarded.
The CDC declined to comment on any of the allegations made against Luber or on its handling of the investigation.
“George Luber is no whistleblower. He is a perpetrator,” said one person involved with the investigation who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of their current job. “There’s a great deal of evidence of unprofessional conduct and inappropriate treatment of women, as well as leadership and management failings.”
Although the agency’s climate work continues — some say more effectively than when Luber was there — morale is low. Three high-profile CDC officials have resigned, allegedly because the agency had “botched” the investigation, and some climate staffers have left due to the chaos. Several employees fear that Luber’s aggressive public relations campaign could result in him coming back.
“He cannot come back,” Chelsea Austin, a member of the Climate and Health Program and one of the women who initially came forward, told BuzzFeed News. “If nothing else, for the damn sake of climate change.”

Luber does have a claim to make that he’s something of a champion for climate science. Over more than a decade as an epidemiologist at the CDC, he became a prominent voice in an emerging field studying the ways climate change is harming people’s health. A regular on the conference circuit and as a climate expert in the press, he has issued warnings about how warming has driven Lyme disease into new pockets of the US, how intense heat waves in Europe and Russia have killed thousands of people, and how natural disasters have had lasting negative impacts on mental health.
He has authored more than 50 scientific publications, including the seminal US climate change reports, the National Climate Assessments. He flew in a helicopter with Matt Damon explaining the effects of extreme heat on urban areas in a 2014 episode of the documentary series Years of Living Dangerously.
But after Trump became president, Luber said, his public profile took a hit.
In fall 2016, Luber was finalizing a CDC climate symposium that would feature former vice president Al Gore as a keynote speaker the following February. But shortly after Trump was elected, Luber’s managers ordered him to cancel it, according to his whistleblower complaint.
“These managers expressed that they thought it would be politically unwise to have such a high-profile conference about climate change weeks after the inauguration of President Trump,” the complaint stated.
Luber said he pushed back. “Dr. Luber insisted this sudden about-face on an existential issue would undermine the scientific integrity of the agency and the public’s faith in the CDC and in climate science generally,” the complaint said.
The weeks following Trump’s inauguration were a period of heightened fear and uncertainty among the climate community. At the time, there were reports of gag orders on federal scientists (some of which turned out to be overblown), climate-related tweets from agency accounts getting deleted, references to climate change removed from federal websites, and people nationwide desperately scrambling to preserve scientific data they feared might soon disappear online.
News of the canceled CDC summit leaked to the press, spurring Gore and others to host the event instead.
According to Luber, CDC officials believed that he may have been responsible for the leak and banned him from speaking to the media and giving talks. He also alleged that Patrick Breysse, the director of the CDC’s National Center for Environmental Health, told him to use words like “extreme weather” instead of “climate change.”
Luber also accused the CDC of threatening to undermine and take money from the Climate and Health Program in an agency reorganization.
Breysse denied Luber’s many climate censorship claims and declined to comment on the ongoing investigation.
Asked about Luber’s allegation that he told him to stop using the words “climate change,” Breysse acknowledged that they did discuss different ways to label the Climate and Health Program, but “none of those discussions resulted in any change.” As for whether CDC tried to take money away from the climate program as part of the reorganization, Breysse said, “My comment is simply that is not true.”
Current and former staffers who spoke with BuzzFeed News provided a messier account of events.
Several staffers said that it was widely understood within the CDC that the agency had canceled the 2017 climate conference in an act of self-censorship, fearing how Trump would respond. They also viewed the decision to slot the climate program into a new branch without “climate” in its name as a deliberate attempt to downplay their research, but they did not recall ever receiving an official order trying to censor their work.
In response to these allegations from his staff from BuzzFeed News, Luber provided contradictory responses about whether it was well understood within the climate program that censorship was going on. He added that the climate team’s budget was “the sole job of the chief” and that “I know I was asked to misappropriate funds.”
Kenneth Archer, Luber’s former deputy who was placed under investigation with him in March 2018 but was ultimately brought back and demoted, said the CDC had resented Luber’s outspokenness for years and had been looking for an excuse “to remove him or silence him.” But Archer, who retired at the end of 2019, could not recall a single instance of censorship apart from the conference cancellation nor a blanket media or public speaking ban on Luber.
Seven current and former staffers disputed Luber’s claims that he was silenced at the agency under Trump’s presidency; they pointed to examples in the public record of the scientist giving climate talks well into 2017, including at Gore’s makeup climate summit, as well as one case of him telling reporters that there was no climate censorship happening at the CDC. Current staffers also said there has been no change to their mandate and that there have been no funding cuts since the reorganization.
The same seven staffers, all of whom participated in the eventual investigation into Luber, agreed on one more thing: Luber was not pushed out over climate censorship.

On Feb. 16, 2018, CDC officials announced that Luber would be promoted to lead the new Asthma and Community Health Branch.
In a single week following the announcement, four climate staffers came forward with complaints about Luber’s treatment of employees, especially women: public health analyst Jane Horton, program evaluator Chelsea Austin, epidemiologist Kathryn Conlon, and administrative assistant Deneise Turner. (Horton and Conlon have since left their roles at the CDC.) A fifth woman came forward shortly after.
It was not the first time complaints had been made against Luber. In 2013, Turner had reported Luber to a high-ranking CDC official for demeaning behavior toward her and contacted the agency’s Office of Equal Employment Opportunity, according to internal emails reviewed by BuzzFeed News. In 2016, Horton said, she reported Luber and Archer for workplace bullying.
The chorus of complaints included allegations of Luber’s misogyny in the office. He was accused of lashing out at women and telling lewd jokes, including calling one colleague “a naughty girl.” He allegedly talked about using a heart rate monitor during sex, gave a woman staffer, while in the office, a photo album that included a naked picture of himself, and repeatedly joked about wanting to create an app for hooking up with twins and triplets.
Turner, who is black, also alleged Luber made inappropriate comments to her about race and apartheid. She shared these remarks with at least one other colleague, emails show. Moreover, Austin, Conlon, and Horton alleged that Luber routinely targeted Turner, speaking to her in a disparaging way in public and scapegoating her for problems in the office.
“I have had a fear of speaking out about the things that I have had to suffer through working here,” Turner later wrote in an email sent to a consultant working with climate staff. “I am tired of sitting at my desk and crying about how I’ve been mistreated.”
The women complained about Luber’s preferential treatment of men in the office. They provided examples of Luber allegedly promising women in office leadership positions on projects, travel opportunities, and promotions that never happened.
And they described his absenteeism: They alleged that Luber often ditched work trips early, once leaving a work conference in Alaska to go on a fishing trip, and was known for blowing off meetings and not responding to emails.
“He wasn’t a boss — he was a one-man speaking tour and publishing tour,” said Horton, who retired from the climate program in 2018. “I can’t tell that he managed that program. I think it went along on its own.”
In response to these allegations, Luber, through his lawyer, explicitly denied the “naughty girl” comment, as well as the incidents with the heart rate monitor and photo album. He also stated that he “put in inordinate amounts of time working” in his role at the CDC up until 2017, when he had a heart attack. “Recovering from a heart attack does not constitute absenteeism,” Luber said.
Luber did not respond to a request to comment on Turner’s allegations about inappropriate remarks to her about race. But in a previous response to the CDC, he called her claim a “wildly inappropriate accusation.”
CDC leaders met with the complainants several times and formally launched an investigation in early March 2018, according to internal calendars and emails reviewed by BuzzFeed News.
“We understand the seriousness of these claims and the concerns you all have of speaking to us,” John Tibbs, one of the CDC officials tasked with conducting the investigation, wrote in a March 7 email obtained by BuzzFeed News. “If required, we have the authority to take action.”
“He wasn’t a boss — he was a one-man speaking tour and publishing tour.”
That all came to a head at an Asthma and Community Health Branch meeting on March 19. According to seven people present for the meeting, as well as text messages sent at the time, Luber joined the meeting after it was already announced he wouldn’t be attending. He told the group that he’d just learned there had been accusations made against him, that he was being placed on administrative leave, and that he’d probably be fired. (Luber disputed that he said he’d be fired to BuzzFeed News.)
He also spoke about how he grew up in South Africa during apartheid, bore witness to structural racism, and described how he was opposed to any kind of unequal treatment or harassment, according to the text messages and witnesses.
In his final address to staff, Luber made no mention of climate change censorship. He then exited the building.

In spring 2018, the CDC expanded its investigation, conducting interviews with most of the dozen or so staffers on the Climate and Health Program. Seven of these staffers, including the women who initially came forward, spoke to BuzzFeed News.
Many of them told the investigators that Luber fostered a frat-like culture and was an absent boss. They also alleged that Luber pressured staffers to work on his outside projects — including guest lecturing for his class at Emory University or helping to write a textbook chapter — even if they viewed the requests as good gigs.
“As horrible of a boss as he was, he gave me all these opportunities,” one former staffer, who spoke on the condition of anonymity out of fear of retaliation from Luber, told BuzzFeed News.
On Oct. 22, 2018, investigators held a meeting with a handful of women staffers and announced the CDC would soon be presenting findings from their investigation and their recommended discipline for Luber. The staffers recalled being told that nothing had been finalized — Luber would still have a chance to respond to the allegations, and the investigators warned that he or his lawyers could target them as a result of their complaints.
That same day, the CDC’s Breysse notified Luber of the agency’s plan to fire him.
The agency ultimately brought four charges against him: first, falsification of time/attendance records, citing 23 examples; second, failure to obtain prior approval to engage in outside activities; third, misuse of position, citing cases of him asking women to teach for his outside class or work on a personal book; and fourth, conduct unbecoming of a federal employee, listing examples where he ditched work events or was intoxicated. The charges did not mention any of the complaints of sexism or inappropriate comments.
Dustin Chambers for BuzzFeed News
On Dec. 20, 2018, Luber went public. The New York Times published a bombshell story, “Climate Team, and Its Boss, Just Got Harder to Find at Top Health Agency,” that has come to define the narrative around the investigation.
The Times story reported the CDC’s climate program had been “quietly folded” into a new branch that “expunged the word climate from the name.” The story detailed Luber’s claims of climate censorship and described how he’d been recommended for dismissal until his legal team said it was considering filing a whistleblower complaint.
That same day, Luber’s legal team published a series of documents tied to the investigation, declaring him a victim of “persecution.” The release included the CDC’s recommendation of his dismissal and the accusations against him, his response, and the agency’s retraction notice.
For the people who participated in the CDC’s investigation, particularly the women who first came forward, the move was a gut punch. This is when they learned Luber had been recommended to be fired and that the CDC had taken it back. For the first time, they also got access to the CDC’s list of allegations against Luber, where they saw some of their names released to the public but no mention of what they felt were some of the most damning claims.
“We definitely have felt like the most egregious things we had to offer were the least useful, and that’s been massively disappointing,” Austin said.
But perhaps the most jarring piece of the document dump was Luber’s own accusations against his former staffers. He accused his administrative assistant, Turner, of tampering with his timekeeping records, attributing her actions to “the fact that we had begun to initiate significant disciplinary action against her.” Luber went on to say that Conlon’s participation in the investigation was “motivated by an act of revenge” over a disputed performance review. (Luber denied the other charges CDC brought against him, chalking them up to misunderstandings, personal mistakes, agency errors or inaccuracies, or falsehoods.) Both women have denied Luber’s claims.
On a recorded January 2019 call with one of the complainants, obtained by BuzzFeed News, CDC ethics director Carolyne St.Louis said that some high-level officials involved in the investigation felt the agency “botched” Luber’s case and had resigned. St.Louis declined to comment to BuzzFeed News.
On the call, St.Louis described her understanding of CDC’s motives in the investigation. “Frankly, the agency is concerned about protecting itself rather than protecting you all, and that’s the bottom line,” she said. “It’s most unfortunate in this situation.”
In early 2019, the CDC brought in an outside consultant to conduct recorded interviews and, for the first time, get sworn statements for the ongoing investigation.
If this was an attempt to assuage current and former staffers that the CDC was still committed to the investigation, it didn’t work. Horton, who had since retired, was never asked for a statement. Four people said the sworn statements were riddled with typos and factual errors, that they were given only a few days to edit and sign them, and that they were never notified about whether the statements were used to bring charges. Conlon’s statement, which she said she refused to sign because of errors and not having enough time to run it by a lawyer, was used without her knowledge.
“Frankly, the agency is concerned about protecting itself rather than protecting you all, and that’s the bottom line.”
Multiple employees shared the names of former staffers who they said could substantiate their claims or add new ones, especially involving inappropriate remarks, sexism, and mismanagement. But months later, the CDC has apparently not followed up on these leads. BuzzFeed News confirmed with at least three people whose names were recommended that they were never contacted for the investigation.
Despite new allegations of inappropriate behavior surfacing in the sworn statements, the CDC delivered a similar set of charges to Luber in July, according to documents released by his legal team. The agency recommended Luber be suspended for four months.
Although not included in the listed reasons for Luber’s proposed suspension, the agency concluded that the investigation revealed a history of troubling interactions with staffers. “Recent inquiries into Dr. Luber’s interactions with CDC staff reveal he does not get along well with many employees, including women and subordinates,” the agency wrote on July 1. “In particular, it has been reported that he has made derogatory comments about women to the staff, disparaged employees in the presence of others, and generally engaged in abusive conduct toward subordinates.”
A month later, Luber’s legal team responded to CDC, again either denying or arguing with the charges laid against him, and also filed an official whistleblower complaint with the Office of Special Counsel. It’s unknown if the agency has started investigating. The agency “cannot comment on or confirm the status of specific investigations,” spokesperson Zachary Kurz told BuzzFeed News in an email.

Since the official whistleblower complaint has been filed, it’s unclear how the CDC’s ongoing investigation will be impacted or what will happen to Luber.
In November, Luber appeared on Ralph Nader’s podcast, where the host Nader kicked off the show by saying the interview was going to “show what heroism was really about.”
Despite the July recommendation that Luber be placed on leave for four months, he told Nader that he has been working on assignments not related to climate change. “I work from home 100% of the time, isolated,” he said.
“And what’s left in the program, unfortunately, is not much expertise,” Luber told Nader. “And that is really what loss is — the core knowledge base that we need in order to move this forward. We’re left with individuals with not much experience or credentials on this.” He also said his former staffers were secretly rooting for him, but they were afraid to speak out and were being told by the CDC not to speak to the press.
The current climate staffers who spoke to BuzzFeed News vehemently disagreed, arguing that the program is not just carrying on — it’s doing better.
“We still have expertise in-house. We’re still doing our work. We are not misappropriating our money,” one longtime CDC climate staffer told BuzzFeed News.
Two staffers, including Austin, said in their sworn statements to the agency that the program has been better managed since Luber left. “The amount of assistance I get now is the most it has been since coming to CDC,” Austin’s statement said.
After three years of the Trump presidency, the CDC has expanded its climate and health funding to 29 states, cities, counties, and tribes, up from 18 in 2016. And in March this year, the agency will be hosting a climate symposium in Atlanta. The conference will be smaller in scale than the event Luber tried organizing three years earlier, but will feature “researchers conducting cutting-edge climate and health work.”
Although some people on staff told BuzzFeed News they are excited about the summit, they also viewed it as the agency’s strategic rebuke to Luber’s claims. It’s both a “legitimate conference” run by the climate program and an attempt to “respond to Luber,” said one climate official involved in the planning. ●
