((I’ll put this here but between the wing zero Albion and, uh, my robot addled brain what if like Code Geass but explicitly 100% more Gundam coded.
I don’t mean the pro-Illuminati 00 I mean like closer to zeta or wing but more in tone/style of geass. Of a revolution against a corrupt aristocracy where a noble prince(ss) fights to dismantle the corrupt world government against their former companion/sibling while allied with advance scientists who created the first advanced Gundam type mecha
Or something. Might get a hyperfocus for a while.))

(I had this idea of what if Lelouch and Light traded series, like what if Lelouch got the Death Note in Death Note and Light obtained a Geass in Code Geass and I had some surprisingly concrete ideas.
-Lelouch would immediately make the Shinigami Eye deal, he doesn't believe he deserves to live in the paradise he will create so he'll definitely do that to make it easier and would probably do any other self-sacrificial thing his Shinigami suggested because that's the kind of guy he is.
-I don't know why but I am fixated on this idea that Light would be in a fake relationship of convenience with Milly, like both are people of high status who need a relationship for their cover and there would kind of be this unspoken loveless transactional factor to them being together in public and then not giving a shit about each other in private that Milly would kind of resent but Light would be fine with.
-Light would probably actually be a pretty good Knightmare Frame pilot, he has a similar level of intellect to Lelouch but is far more athletically inclined so he may not be a freak genius at it like Kallen and Suzaku but he'd probably be pretty good, BUT he'd also not be as willing to be on the front lines as Lelouch and would probably set up more dummy systems and decoys to make it look like he was there when he's really controlling things from far away like a computer game.
-Lelouch would be far less willing to use the Death Note on people just doing their jobs like cops hunting him and stuff, this'd probably help him out in the short term as there won't be a bunch of cops dropping dead when they come to investigate him and he won't draw L as quickly because he doesn't have the instinctive drive to draw L in for daring to challenge him but it will make some decisions more complicated if fate forces his hand on some of these choices.
-Light would loophole the shit out of Geass like instead of direct commands he'd make the whole school sleeper agents to activate a specific action when he does a random innocuous thing, Lelouch got up to some creative implementation of it but Light's more about testing the boundaries of rules and once he realizes he can only use it once per person he'd get as many pawns in his local vicinity as possible to make getting caught less likely.
-Lelouch would probably use the Death Note more strategically and selectively, targeting specific heads of state and basically enforcing a "Super Geneva Convention OR ELSE" policy specifically targeted at systems of oppression within governments instead of the general idea of "bad people" and probably go for a more top-down approach by demanding better social policies from the world at large.
-Suzaku would probably generally be gullible enough to fall for Light's good guy act, like it would take some serious plot twisting to actually get him to suspect Light because he's just a lot better at dissociating and pretending he's on a completely different wavelength than the terrorists of the story but if he ever did catch up with him you could imagine how merciless he would be to Light's arrogant god schtick, man would not be getting the same mercy Lelouch did.
-L would have a hard time getting a read on Lelouch because Lelouch doesn't have any pride in his plans and wouldn't purposely fuck up to draw L closer like Light did, it's entirely possible depending on the level of police surveillance available they'd eventually catch Lelouch slipping since he's not quite as meticulous as Light but they'd have a lot less to go on, though if L ever does catch a whiff Lelouch probably doesn't have the same kind of charisma and psychopathy to ellude L the way Light did.

In a not so distant past, he would've felt honored, valued for being approved of by the only person who ever knew him truly. His friend, a real one. He misses that. Even Euphie never had to see the rotting hatred he'd let creep into his chest because she didn't believe in it--Pity. If she had, she might have known he couldn't save her. She might've found someone else and survived.
i need him to blow up he's so. what is WRONG WITH YOUUUUUUUU he wants to be a martyr so damn bad and for what i cant stand him

Custom Toonami Block Week 210 Rundown
Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture: It’s finale time and OH BOY KALLEN’S HERE! Like she’s here for two seconds of fanservice but I definitely enjoyed it. The world has an estimated three days before the Loki overwhelm the global military effort and I’m just like… how? Like how did Norland fucking MAKE all these things, where did he keep them all, get the metal, deploy them and shit, like how do you make an army of drones capable of a GLOBAL devastation front, like they explain they’re being remotely controlled by his suit but that’s kind of the least of the logistical issues, like a manned Knightmare can take a Loki relatively easily so if you assume the Loki have to outnumber regular Knightmares by at least 2 to 1 if not more, how did you make a robot army of that size? Like Britannia does have a lot of resources being a former global empire and all but the Empire’s broken up and Neo Britannia seems to only be working from within Japan and apparently NO ONE knew about this enormous effort, it’s like if they built the Death Star and fucking nobody had any idea but also it was built with only the materials on Alderaan, like it’s like that scene in Rise of Skywalker where they’re like “oh yeah here’s a bunch of huge death ships for free” like there’s a reason plots like Gundam Wing’s Mobile Dolls usually have the vastness of Space Production to facilitate autonomous weapons overwhelming human pilots with sheer numbers because otherwise it doesn’t make fucking sense. Back with Ash and Sakuya, they regroup and Ash fills her in on how Norland knows all his moves so Ash asks to be put under a Geass again and it basically acts like a Fate Command Seal, accepting a vow rather than being issued a command, making him extra sharp like how Suzuaku was when Lelouch’s “Live” command was triggered.
Also their tactical countermeasure is actually pretty cool it’s like the Mobile Suit equivalent of the Yugioh Mind Shuffle, Sakuya calculates Norland’s firing data and navigates a path and Ash is the one who uses his reflexes to move in that path, so it’s still Ash’s expert piloting but in a dodging pattern Norland’s not familiar with. The fight kinda devolves into data collection from there but it’s a neat trick. Eventually they wear down his firing rate from just dodging long and hard enough and are able to poetically double-stab him in the back the exact way he killed Ash’s brother (btw we get NO explanation for why he wanted to genocide humanity, just the laundry list of reasons he DIDN’T want to do it last episode because he’s a quirky not like other girls villain).
But since the fight took so long and we have to have a dramatic ending, Ash sacrifices himself to Norland’s self-destruct bomb so Sakuya has the energy to get back to the surface and like bro you’re over water, just descend as best you can and take your chances with the fall. Still the world is saved since it’s like the end of The Phantom Menace and all the Loki fall over broken (was Norland just gonna sit in the cockpit floating over shit for three days? Like I imagine if you make a global wifi death robot you have supplies in their for the long haul but to my knowledge he’s still a normal somehow Geass-immune cloned human so like he’s gotta eat and pee and shit like I guess he’s hooked up to an IV and catheter but still). Everybody just kinda moves in to Narah’s new orphanage and Sakuya becomes Empress for real and she uses her Geass to silence herself and like… wtf I have so many problems with this, like not to be ableist or anything but she says it’s to seal away the power of Geass forever because she’s grown to hate manipulating people and like… two things: That ignores the whole thing of Ash accepting a vow like Suzukau did when he killed Lelouch, showing that Geass isn’t an inherently evil power and like Lelouch said it’s a wish you give to others, and two SHE COULD’VE JUST GIVEN HERSELF THE COMMAND NOT TO USE GEASS EVER AGAIN, like she’s the FUCKING EMPRESS now, again not to be ableist but I think people usually like political leaders that can… you know, TALK, it’s kind of the whole thing of politics. She says it’s “her resolve” but it just feels like she’s being moody because her boyfriend died, like Sakuya’s not the same kind of character as Lelouch that would always take the path that hurts him personally the most because he feels he’s not worth living in the paradise he will create, that’s not part of her arc, so why actively hinder her ability to use her position for good when just throwing away the power would’ve gotten mostly the same end, idk this kinda pisses me off more than it should and maybe if she wasn’t the Empress I wouldn’t mind it but it rubs me the wrong way. Either way she adopts all of Ash’s cats and dogs and moves into the orphanage with Sakura (who have like two words together at the end despite their relationship being her whole motivation) and becomes a single cat lady, that part’s fine I don’t mind that but geez this ending fumbled so much shit.
Overall I did NOT have high expectations for this series and I was kinda right to think that, like it pleasantly surprised me in some areas and there’s a lot of good waifu designs in this but the story reeks of sequel series nonsense and with the weird pacing they had to do to make it twelve episodes it feels like they just ramped it up to make it as big as possible at the end and doesn’t feel worth it for a “now there’s peace for real until we can milk more drama out of this series” and a lot of the mysterious shit was never explained like idk, 6/10.
Arcane: So Cait’s gon full Police Brutality mode and is gassing sections of the city and given the montage it’s not clear how rough they are on bystanders versus actual former Silco agens but it looks like Cait’s either on the edge of shooting first and asking questions later or already there and Vi is not down for that and you know it’s bad when the person whose answer to everything is a bar fight tells you to chill a little. Mel’s Mom gets attacked by Black Rose cultists but Utena’s still a ways off so nothing really comes of that yet aside from them being fucking magic and this world establishing that’s kind of a not great thing. Vi takes Cait aside and tells her to slow her roll and also let the redshirts go so they can be buddy cop lesbians before the fodder characters get picked off in one of Jinx’s saw traps for drama, which knowing this series yeah that’s probably valid. Vi is tired of having people she cares about become deranged psychos and asks Cait to tone down the police brutality by at least like 20% and they kiss and I guess they really are a couple now, okay. Like come to think of it Mel and Jayce kinda happened the same rushed way so maybe that’s just how this series does romance, like the difference was I didn’t think they wanted us to take Mel and Jayce seriously at first like it seemed like Mel thought they were fuckbuddies and Jayce was getting too attached but moving forward it does look like the show wants us to take them seriously as a couple so maybe it does just kinda do “these characters love each other now take our word for it” like I get we don’t exactly have time for sweeping romantic arcs but it’s kinda saying something when the most believable establishing of a partnership is fucking Jayce and Viktor and they’re not even together. Mel’s mom is getting the band together to accelerate her plans for war and Mel’s spies are keeping her abreast of it too. Jayce and Ekko figure out that Magic is pissed and is doing all kinds of bad shit because they made iphones out of it so it’s like “Fine you can have the iphones but also fuck your tree because I’m angy.” And also there’s just a giant fuckoff magic generator underground leaking poison magic into the underground because they made it s it wouldn’t blow up the important people.
Unfortunately this is the worst possible time to have Poison Magic Meltdown as Vi and Jinx and Cait and Sevika are having their individual Gunner vs Melee pairings and Vi and Caits weapons malfunction while they’re trying to do shit. Vi has Jinx dead to rights but the Olivier Twist child gets in the way and Cait has a bombing the hospital moment and Vi has to stop her because no one’s capable of prying a tiny child off of a scrawny girl I guess. Sevika initiates the getaway plan which… I think just paint? Like they play it big and dramatic like it’s gas or something but it looks like she just paintbombed Piltover which is kinda funny. Vi and Cait have a breakup over both understandably being upset with Cait being willing to bomb the hospital but also Vi kinda dropping the ball on getting the hospital out of the way and losing them their only chance to stop all-out war. This proves especially true once Mel is abducted by the Utena cultists and her mom appoints Cait the new General of the Army of the Republic and like… I don’t think you’re allowed to do that, just go into someone else’s country and override their governmental bodies to nominate someone else general, like everyone’s on board with it so I guess it’s fine but you shouldn’t be allowed to do that. It’s also revealed that Mel’s mom has been pushing everyone towards aggression and stoking the flames of war and like… we kinda already knew that but the confirmation of her involvement in specific events is nice, plus she’s pinning the Utena Cultist attack on the underground and idk why that’s the tipping point like “Yeah sure half your government died and then dozens more were massacred at their funeral but your city was paint bombed and one merchant with no power was assassinated so let’s go to war” like I get it’s an aggregate response but it feels weird that that’s the final straw. Also one more ominous stinger of something I have no clue about and a Bigger Big Daddy so yay.
SAO Alternative: The Squad Jam begins and it’s revealed GGO has gone with the Fortnite model as everyone’s on an island that will slowly start sinking, pushing everyone towards the mysterious center of the island. Llen’s group makes for the train depot near them and it’s revealed the other teams have agreed to gang up on them and are sharing signal flares to coordinate their position and surround the group after the satellite sweep reveals their positions. And so now we’re back to where we were in the cold open with LLEN dodging bullets and dashing through the train yard like crazy. It’s kinda funny how Llen doesn’t seem that into it this time and mostly wants to settle her score with team SHINC and get the fuck out of dodge. The team regroups in an old coal car and everyone surrounds them but Pito makes eye and muzzle holes for everyone with her lightsaber so it basically becomes a bulletproof bunker for them to take all the mooks out. The guys try lobbing a grenade in there but Pito shoots it down and Fuka’s able to return fire to take basically everyone out. Now that the first wave of fodder is out of the way we can start getting into named characters.
Trigun: It’s the episode where SHIT GETS REAL, Vash and the girls are having a lovely peaceful day when this fucking walking Square Enix design strides in like like he doesn’t have a huge fuckoff spiked skull shoulderpad on, like maybe fashion’s different in Trigunworld but the fact that this guy attracts NO attention whatsoever is hilarious. Legato Bluesummers is a telepath with a both ridiculous and haunting name and gives a really good chilling scene to Vash warning him that the mysterious villain from his past has found him and he’s going to die today, like bro makes a fucking ENTRANCE “You know who sent me, you’re going to die, I’m not going to do it personally but I could and I’mma send you a brain blast of me choking out a child so you know I’m serious about murdering everyone in town if you try anything”. Vash is subsequently arrested for the murder of the boot maker he just visited and Milly and Meryl go to bat for him to get him out. It’s kind of funny how Meryl, the more emotionally invested one is more emphatic about Vash’s release while Milly, the more instinctive one, is wary of the slow toll Vash’s past catching up to him is taking on him, like Meryl’s probably closer to Vash and that’s why she can’t see it but Milly tends to have a sense about people and can see him just a few steps from sicko mode. However this episode of Ace Attorney: Gun Edition is cut short when Legato’s assassin just busts into jail to kill Vash and despite literally having him tied down and against a wall, dude still fucks it up and Vash gets away. A high-speed chase through the city ensues and while the dude doesn’t seem to be actively targeting civilians to use as hostages against Vash he doesn’t seem to be avoiding them either and one of his AOE attacks does blow away a good number of people despite Vash’s best efforts to clear the streets. It is ON now and Vash rigs a safe vault door to launch out and crush this guy before revealing his SECRET ARM GUN and blowing him away, very clearly going for the kill despite this guy’s armor. Now that Vash has him dead to rights this guy starts bawling, like when he kills other people he says who cares but when HE’S on the end of the gun he starts blabbering like Light Yagami about not wanting to die. Vash struggles with the idea of killing someone even if it means stopping someone who’ll likely kill again, saying that if he does kill someone then Rem really will die in his heart since his pacifism vow is all he has left of her and damn bro we’re actually legitimately challenging this, I feel like if you got Thorfinn and Vash in a room together you’d get a very interesting conversation.
Revolutionary Girl Utena: It’s the start of the third and final arc and Utena and Anthy are moving in with Akio who’s just ominously talking about his name being linked with the Devil and how he is compelled to destroy all light and be sad about it and I’m sure that’s nothing to worry about. We also get a really sweet moment with Utena and Anhty in the gayest possible beds specifically designed to let them fall asleep looking into each other’s eyes. But they agree to help each other if they’re ever in a pickle and Anthy does seem to be becoming more assertive so their bond is developing from Utena just wanting to make sure Anthy can function as a human being with some autonomy to a genuine care and intimacy with each other and it’s nice. Meanwhile Sayonji’s finally back on the council, feels like it’s been forever since that Wakaba episode but I guess realistically it’s only been a couple days. He says he’s tired of being led around by the nose by some faceless mastermind literally named after the apocalypse dicking them around and you know what, good for him. Sayonji started this show as the most unlikable character in the world and I still don’t necessarily like him but the growth is noticeable and important. Sadly it doesn’t last long though as Touga and Akio take him on a shirtless drive in Lightning Mcqueen to change his mind and just like that he’s back on Team End of the World, damnit Sayonji I was rooting for you, we were all rooting for you. The new gondola duel happens and we get a cool new animation for the intro as well as cars sprouting out of the ground like daisies, honestly didn’t expect the apocalypse to be so car-centric. Still Sayonji is able to use his new apocalypse powers to de-spawn Utena’s sword and when it looks like she’s about to lose, Anthy musters the spec of autonomy she’s gained and saves her, deciding that she’s done being an impartial observer and helping Utena pull a new sword out of herself like how the Black Rose cult did it and she gets a new attack and wins the duel. Afterwards Anthy seems to be retaining some resistance to Akio, for someone everyone insists is a blank slate she’s finally showing some will of her own, albeit slowly. But the struggle of the final arc is taking shape as the struggle for the formation/destruction of Anthy’s soul.

🏠, 🪀 !!
for this;
🏠: oh i will rp with Anybody. i will FIND a way to make it work. with granblue being as niche as it is, you sort of have to go in welcoming and expecting crossovers. and honestly, with how many collabs gbf has had with anime and other mainstream media? (ie; tales of, code geass, jujutsu kaisen, one piece, tensura, etc.) anything is possible. IF CYGAMES CAN MAKE IT WORK SURE AS HELL CAN I!!!!!!!!!!!!
🪀: eeeEEEHHHH it depends on the contents of the ooc posts. RLY i dont care and just means I SPY WITH MY LITTLE EYE.... A FRIEND!!!!!! outside of writing!! BUT. if i do see some sketch shit i will maintain my distance and likely limit interactions w a person or softblock. it takes a long time for me to get to that point tho and usually i will have to notice a linear pattern of behavior first over a prolonged period of time before i consider it. i try to give people leeway bc life is very unexpected and shit gets hard. I mentioned it in a recent post, but I'm usually OK with character deaths in fiction. And by that I mean I can feel a wide range of feelings: sadness if it's a character I loved, happiness if it's a character I hated, indifference if it's a character I didn't have a strong opinion on, frustration if I think it was poorly written/executed, and morbidly amused if it crosses the line twice into being funny in how weirdly done it was. But whatever the feeling, I still accept the death.
....BUT there are at least 10 occasions I can recall where my feelings went beyond usual frustration from a writing standpoint and were genuinely repulsed and upset about it, to the point where I'm not so forgiving and will harp on it whenever given the chance. They aren't just bad choices, IMO - they actively harm their stories. And those 10 occasions were....
Asuka Langley Soryu (End of Evangelion) - This is a movie where practically everyone dies, and I knew that going in, so you'd figure I wouldn't get upset. But something about Asuka's death just rubs me the wrong way. It feels especially mean-spirited in a way none of the others do. This girl has already been through the ringer, then finally finds her resolve again and has a badass fight sequence, only to then get beaten down, mutilated, and driven mad by excruciating pain before expiring. And then Shinji strangles her in a hallucination on top of that. And again at the end where she's sort of resurrected maybe? I don't know, it just feels so excessively cruel, to the point where it even put Yuko Miyamura herself off of Asuka and Evangelion for years. It's just one of many reasons I prefer the manga, which lacks it.
Euphemia Li Britannia (Code Geass) - Another mean-spirited death, as Euphie gets forcibly mind controlled into committing a massacre of the very Japanese people she was trying to help, then put down and publicly demonized by her killer...who is also the one who mind controlled her. But what is worse than that is the context of that mind control came completely out of nowhere, amounting to an OOC joke; the circumstances had other alternative means of resolving it without killing her; and it makes no sense that she, a Britannian princess, can die from a single bullet when a rando like Mao who was riddled with them can be saved through "modern Britannian medical science". Nothing about this death adds up logically. The manga does it a lot better due to several alterations, but I still prefer that it not happen.
Graham Humbert (Once Upon a Time) - Strangely, it wasn't the death itself that pissed me off this time. I was fine with the death, it was perfectly fitting for the story and characters. The problem comes with the fall-out of the death....or rather, the lack thereof. Emma takes his place as Sheriff of Storybrooke...and that's it. Graham never receives justice. It is never discovered that Regina killed him, she never admits to it, and he is barely ever mentioned again across the rest of the series. He doesn't even show up in the Underworld even though he should have unfinished business! In the last episode, his murderer is crowned Queen of the Multiverse and a montage of past scenes plays...with Graham's death being one of them, as if the show is rubbing it in that his death received no closure. It is simply infuriating.
Kaede Akamatsu (Danganronpa V3) - This is the death mentioned in the recent post which sparked this one. We get a refreshing, interesting, likable female protagonist for a mainline Danganronpa game...and then she ends up being the culprit from Chapter 1, passes the torch to Shuichi who is the same breed of male protagonist we've had twice already, and is fridged to give him man-pain via an intensely graphic and painful execution. This "twist" was completely misaimed and caused the story and my personal investment in it to crumble.
Kairi (Kingdom Hearts III) - I'll just let this video do the talking. Re:Mind and the manga both did things to make it better, but like with Euphie, such fixes shouldn't have been needed at all.
Nia Teppelin (Gurren Lagann) - She is taken out of the show for an extended period of time due to being possessed, has the possession shown as unpleasant Mind Rape, and then after being rescued gets to marry Simon just in time to fade away during the wedding in an out-of-nowhere gut-punch. Thanks, I hate it. I'll stick with SRW’s version of the ending instead.
The Magical Beings (Star vs. The Forces of Evil) - Star Butterfly's character arc is destroyed at the last minute as she prevents a genocide by causing a bigger genocide, which includes killing all of her sentient spells. The Magic High Commission's deaths being played off as a joke and what they deserved - save for Hekapoo just because she's popular despite having done just as much bad - is especially insulting since it ignores all the nuance and likable traits they used to have and the fact they were only going along with what Moon was doing yet Moon gets to be a Karma Houdini. A bad choice from a notoriously bad finale.
The People of Earth (Dragon Ball Z) - OK, all the nameless extras being killed by Super Buu was fine. Chi Chi being killed by Super Buu was pointless but I can let it slide. Damn near everyone else on the Lookout except for Dende was pointless and an unnecessary downer. Goten, Trunks, Piccolo and Gohan dying while unconscious as the planet is destroyed!? NOPE. That was a bridge too far. Toriyama clearly wasn't even trying anymore.
Rodrigue and Fleche (Fire Emblem: Three Houses) - BYLETH. YOU HAVE TIME REWIND POWERS. USE THEM!!! NOBODY HAS TO DIE HERE! WTF ARE YOU DOING!?
Tara Markov (Teen Titans) - Like with Graham, it wasn't the death itself so much as the inadequate fall-out. But possibly even worse than that was the stunningly ableist, victim blaming narration placed over the death as it transpired, and the whole misogynistic vibe around the character’s usage, especially compared to Deathstroke, the adult man who masterminded the scheme Terra took part in and who committed statutory rape on her. It doesn’t even make internal sense: one moment we have Raven moralizing that Terra was born evil and cannot truly feel love or hate, but then the next the narration is moralizing that she made herself evil by choice and taught herself “how to hate”. Marv Wolfman has talent as a writer, but he’s a really gross person, and I can never forgive the way he treated Terra.

Send ✒️ and I’ll tell you a muse I’ve thought about writing, but never did
OOC;; WHERE ARE ALL THESE COMING FROM??
Uhhhwho else?? Recently I've wanted to try writing Tamayo from Demon Slayer due to a rare pair that I unearthed thanks to a friend and me discussing some stuff. Shinobu and Kanao too, but there are so many people who adore Shinobu and understand her far more than I believe I ever could. I- omg dude how could I have forgotten. This was years ago but the excitement remains the same. I really wanted to write for Euphemia Li Britannia from Code Geass. But I backed out because nobody had any interest in her at the time.. and I was very much a novice writer at the time so it was coming across as cringe.
Dio from JJBA was also contented for a while but I truly could not take him seriously as I was writing him. Johnathan Joestar was another one but again, no interest. He is one of my favorites because he is.. he's just a good dude and doesn't get enough credit for that because a lot of Part 1 is not as well received as the later ones. His story illustrates the duality of how kindness can serve as a strength but can just as easily be grounds for fatal mistakes.
I've wanted to write Scaramouce from Genshin Impact too, but I don't feel like I could do him justice at this point in time. I always get so nervous that I'll just saturate the RP-space if I have certain muses that seem to be everywhere.

⤷ 『 Jeremiah Gottwald from Code Geass 』
Though the odds were seemingly against them in this moment, there was no doubt in his mind that they would prevail. Their hold on Area 11 was not yet well-cemented enough to allow it to be run by fools and honorary Britannians. These terrorists would not succeed!
Prince Clovis was no longer with them, but perhaps this would pave the way for Britannia's rule to thrive in this place where formerly Elevens were allowed the opportunity to shed their baser past and join the ranks of proud Britannia. Jeremiah had always disdained the practice, after all.
But Private Suzaku Kururugi had been taken into custody and everything had been arranged for his execution. His death would be the stepping stone that allowed them to truly take charge in this abysmal backwater and prove their worth in the eyes of the motherland and their Emperor.

The Code Geass sequel seems to basically be the question of how many big titty waifus do you have to throw at the screen before I care about a flat plot that betrays the ending of the original... turns out the answer is five

Custom Toonami Block Week 204 Rundown
Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture: So despite the cliffhanger last time, the fall of the Damocles is only a problem for like two minutes before they drop it in a park and minimalize casualties, so all that shit about how this was really the bad guys’ plan the whole time was either bunk or it was just a really bad plan. Discount Char is fine with the outcome for some reason presumably because we can’t go killing Knights every time a mission fails or the series will only be three episodes long. They send Nina off and it’s kinda weird for her to be the legacy character that gets the most focus of all things, like yeah she probably does have the most impact on the future but now they’re pretty sure there aren’t any more Fleijas so it’s just a weird choice to go “hi, bye” for. Sakura asks Catherine to help her be stronger so she can face everyone that’s been hurt in this conflict and we get kind of a cute moment of Catherine getting flustered by her strength-based hierarchy being challenged by someone who’s essentially powerless trying their hardest to do what they can. Meanwhile Sakuya’s taking her parents’ death anniversary off and so we have more maid café shenanigans with her and Ash. She bugs his jacket and overhears a conversation when he and Narah cross paths that he didn’t really kill her father and just harbors guilt for it happening and has a martyr complex. Narah also tells him she stays on the evil side so she can protect people from Anti-Britannian racism since there were understandably some hurt feelings after the thousand year empire of racism came crumbling down and apparently the orphanage she and Ash grew up in got caught up in it and also Discount Char is Ash’s adopted dad. This whole conversation is a lot of infodumping and it’s made all the funnier by them awkwardly trying to keep pointing guns at each other while driving and Sakuya chasing them on a motorcycle in a maid dress. Sakuya ends up rethinking her plans to kill Ash while Sakura muses over hearing a coded message that Sakuya is doing well and turns out the new guard replacing Catherine for the day knows about her not actually being Sakuya and confronts her about it while she’s naked because what kind of show did you think this was. Also the stinger seems to imply that Ash was the one that murdered all the orphanage people.
Ranma ½: It’s the end of the ice skating arc and okay there’s a lot more ice left than they were showing at the end of last episode, like before it looked like mostly water with some ice islands, now it looks like mostly ice with some ravines of water. Either way hijinks ensue as Ranma and Ryoga do their fakeout shenangians against the ice skater couples’ fakeout shenanigans and it’s all very silly until Ryoga manages to lift huge chunks of ice that basically KO’s everyone else and puts this whole silly arc to bed. Akane gets hit in the crossfire of the fight after the fight and Ryoga jumps in to save her from the water because she doesn’t know how to swim (headcanoning that Akane at a Devil Fruit rn) and Ranma covers for Ryoga and gives him the credit for saving her. Wasting absolutely NO time we jump right into the next arc as Ranma’s death challenge amazon woman Shampoo (seriously was Ms. Rumiko just looking around her house for these names, Tofu, Shampoo, like this lady’s Chinese it doesn’t make any sense) who has a vendetta against girl!Ranma for breaking her insular warrior code and defeating her but loves male!Ranma when he accidentally does the exact same thing, Amazonian double standards are weird. Still I like the language barrier shenanigans they have with her and she has a fun design and of course it’s yet another character to have the exact opposite reaction to the different Ranmas, it’s just the sword guy in reverse.
Arcane: It’s Viktor’s episode and that means I have to actually learn his name instead of calling him Jayce’s boyfriend the whole time. He’s busy sulking over his impending death and reminiscing his start into the sciences while Jayce is kind of having a breakdown and being very vulnerable with his new girlfriend and seems a lot more comfortable with the whole thing that she does, like I get the vibe Mel’s taking this as more of a friends with benefits thing and Jayce seems more serious. Meanwhile Vi and Cait are fleeing Silco’s men and giving them the slip which is making enough noise for Jinx to find out Vi’s back and/or not dead, apparently that was Cop #2’s thing to tell Silco she was dead but he just put her in prison and never bothered to put a “do not release under any circumstances” on Vi’s file, like I’m pretty sure Silco will have had guys in prison at some point, like he’s gotta have connections in there he’s a criminal there’s gotta be ties to get people in/out if they get captured how did he not know this? Like he can do all the ominous daughter block playing he wants but part of that’s on him, police dude hid someone the criminals were looking for in the place where criminals go. Vi takes Cait to the… Undead Burg I guess and hide out from her stab wound and they get some sketchy venom liquid from one of the local Hollows. Meanwhile Professor Porg hears Jayce say “Magic that learns” and is ready to shut down that generative AI shit before it gets out of hand but of course people aren’t ready to give up their Hexphones that easily and there’s the whole saving Viktor’s life with Human Transmutation thing that has Jayce on edge which gets Professor Porg kicked off the council, like Jayce I get and Mel’s got her thing with him and we established the dumb king guy just goes with whatever she does but idk about the other two, just peer pressure I guess. Vi recovers and faces off with Silco, stapling his grasp again and finally meeting up with Jinx after she sends up the flare to reunite with her. Things are cool for half a second before Jinx’s neuropathy kicks in and Vi has a moment to let it sink in what a Harley Quinn monster her sister has become and like girl you said you knew she’d do what she had to to survive and she wouldn’t be alive at this point if she wasn’t at least a little bloodthirsty. Either way Cait loses the Hexphone 2.0 in a fight with the Firelights and they take Vi so Jinx is back to being alone and crazy instead of together and crazy.
Dandadan: Picking up right where we left off last time, I’m glad the series isn’t glossing over the “how do they live after being caught naked at school” dilemma, ironically Okarun’s the only one unaffected which is ironic since he was the only one actually naked but he is a male and has no friends so I guess no one’s interested in calling him on it. The beginning half is mostly just arc cleanup and we get the fallout with various friendgroups because both main girls have exactly two secondary friends to react to stuff and Momo’s friends get a funny little moment here where they were thinking Momo and Aira were dueling naked to the death for Okarun’s heart, good stuff, most of the time these sorts of characters are just glorified background characters that exist solely to confirm that a character has a social life and I’m glad they’re getting fleshed out a bit. Okarun also theorizes that ghosts and aliens kind of keep each other in check and supernatural stuff basically protects the earth from all the sci-fi stuff, given that the alien stuff is also slowly getting more fleshed out and it’s looking like a very scary, silly Rick and Morty universe this is probably something good to nail down for the intersectionality this series is based in. Aira meanwhile as the most socially conscious of the group does have to deal with the fallout of her lies about Momo and does come clean even though it hurts her image, showing her growth as a character even if she won’t admit it to Momo’s face. They come across the Shrimp Alien and we get his tragic backstory about his son needing daily blood transfusions and it’s very silly because it turns out their blood is milk and they prove this by giving him a glass of the stuff and telling him to drink it. Idk how shrimp blood works but if aliens gave me a glass of blood and told me to drink it to check and see I’d be like ‘wtf you people are monsters, drinking blood is not good for you’ but it turns out to be a good enough match so Seiko sets him up with a cow to abduct and as long as nothing ever happens to that cow and it lives forever they’ll be fine, I mean I’m just saying he’s probably just gonna be back in a few years for another cow, prolly should’ve given him a breeding pair at least to keep him going for a while. Meanwhile while everyone’s on cooldown and back in hijinks mode, Momo’s childhood friend/crush Jiji stops into to stir up trouble and cause drama because this romance arc was going a little too smoothly.
Gleipnir: So the Hobo Boss has the group dead to rights and honestly what follows reminds me a lot of Negan’s intro in The Walking Dead, guy gives his philosophy, tries to make it sound reasonable and then tells everyone to pick a sacrifice to apologize for hurting their man. He quickly realizes what a fucking psycho Clair is and takes a liking to her personality (among other things) and he explains his method of gathering scumbags and pooling coins to dump into him and he does whatever they want him to do with that kind of power, making sure that anyone who joins them has the resolve to do nasty things as well as the compliance to bend the knee. Telescope guy quickly realizes no one likes him so he’s basically dead anyway but instead of being honorable and doing a heroic sacrifice he decides to be a bitch to the very end. Clair makes flower guy make poison flowers to smoke them out and poison everyone basically doing the Hunter x Hunter Rose Bomb plan on a budget, I mentioned Negan earlier but this whole episode did get very Walking Dead with the “I’ll do what I have to to make sure the group survives” theming, I don’t necessarily have a problem with Clair using her natural psychopathy for the greater good I’m just a little concerned with how quickly she had this plan ready like she has a twelve of the most dickish war crimes in her back pocket in case she needs them, even using the guy’s one redeemable trait against him in trying to save his group. Telescope guy tries to warn them but that activates Sayaka’s noose quirk thing because we had to see that in action at least once in the series. Clair goes on about how her sister feels the same way about all the bad shit she’s done and how she thinks she wants Clair to be the one to set her free from it by killing her and I’m very doubtful of that given we’ve established Clair’s sister’s character is full Shuichi yandere and barely even registers Clair as a player and Clair seems to think she’s a lot more important to her than she is so this is all probably a heft dose of cope.
Trigun: We actually get a neat little bit of continuity to start the episode off as Vash gives the credit for catching last episode’s escaped convicts to the town that needs the money for their plant restoration, did feel a little odd that plot thread was left open though it begs the question would Vash even be able to claim the bounty? Like no one seems to know who he is anyway and the convicts did seem to think they could claim Vash’s bounty so maybe they don’t care who brings in the bounty idk. Either way Meryl is trying to cope with the fact that the bozo they’ve been following around and she’s slowly gaining attachment to really is the legendary outlaw she’s looking for and part of her still doesn’t believe it. Meanwhile a woman comes on a giant sand ship to fix the town’s plant and it turns into a segment of “The author’s barely disguised fetish” as she treats Vash like a pet dog while using him as a bodyguard while in town. We get some more lore about the plants and how they do… science stuff… to basically make life possible on the desert planet this show takes place on, nobody knows where they come from and the IT guys that fix them are basically illuminati taking their secrets to the grave and passing the knowledge through generations. Vash manages to defeat the assassin coming after this lady but she locks them both in the plant while triggering it to melt down because Vash destroyed her town when she was little and amazingly didn’t kill anyone but still caused the whole amount of economic strife that you’d imagine a whole town getting blown up would caused, and even worse he hasn’t aged a day despite this girl easily being in her twenties, almost like he’s some sort of Plant Man or something. Either way he… absorbs the plant’s… science light and stops the meltdown, saving the woman from destroying the town like he did to her and apologizing for not being able to oblige her request to kill him. He says he can’t remember if he did or didn’t destroy the town and aside from backstory fragments being in the town’s ruins are the first thing he remembers at all. She initially just wants to kill him to make herself feel better even if she can’t be sure if her revenge or justified or even properly directed, but bemoans the target of her spite being such a kind and honest man. Lots of extra lore stuff this time around and hints at Vash’s mysterious past which I only have vague memories of but yeah shit’s starting to ramp up.
Revolutionary Girl Utena: It’s a Wakaba episode and it’s kinda unclear whether or not this’ll be a filler episode or not until the very end. Wakaba meets up with her old childhood friend who’s actually going after Utena romantically atm, given the guy is a guy he doesn’t have a chance but Utena senses Wakaba is the one that likes him so humors things to get them to talk out their feelings. It’s kind of unclear how much of their past is glamorized by Wakaba since even in the flashback he’s not exactly enthusiastically playing along with the prince role she gives him, Still Utena does sit them down and get them to talk things out, convincing the guy Tatsuya to go confess to her after he admits that he was confessing to Utena to get to Wakaba because they’re so close which idk that didn’t seem to be the case but if that’s what we’re going with sure. The two meet on a romantic hill at sunset and do their confession and Wakaba “If only there was someone who loved you”s him like damn bro, I thought the scene was a little to sincere to play completely straight but this show is also old and awkward sometimes so I wasn’t sure so it completely caught me off-guard. Tatsuya goes to the Black Rose Clinic and just when you think they’re gonna have a five second fight with Utena to round out the episode, his psychoanalysis stops when they go as deep as they can and he doesn’t have any desire to hurt Wakaba for hurting him, he believes in true love and thinks she’ll find him in the end which may be a bit delusional but point being there’s no actual malice in his heart for her and nothing for the Black Rose to latch onto so Souji has to awkwardly stand there like “Bro wtf you doing here, you can’t Revolutionize the world, gtfo” like I’mma be honest, I thought Tatsuya was boring as fuck but the fact that he’s so boring they can’t twist his character to hurt people is kinda endearing, like weaponized blandness, like he’s not a great soul and still kinda feels entitled to Wakaba tbh but he’s a good enough egg that he blames himself for not being good enough for her and doesn’t bear her any actual ill will. Instead we get a small scene of Wakaba returning hom and oh fuck Sayonji’s back, he’s done his Chazz Princeton rich boy humbling arc and has hopefully got over his domestic abuse habits and Wakaba is now in a secret relationship with him and took Tatsuya’s confession to mean he knows about Sayonji and asking him to keep it a secret because he’s so roundabout about it. I love these episodes where they twist the formula up because I did NOT see any of that coming.
