I tend to be of an “all or nothing” mindset, very black and white. Grey doesn’t work well for me, unless it’s the color of my clothing. If I couldn’t workout for two hours, I wouldn’t work out at all. I would track my calories meticulously, or binge on food that was extremely unhealthy. I would get disappointed when the scale didn’t move after a couple of days, and then just give up. That’s until I learned that taking small steps added up to BIG changes. I didn’t need to be all or nothing, I could find balance with my health. Baby steps has gotten me to where I am now, and if I hadn’t been taking these small steps over the past two years, who knows where I would be? I would probably be standing still, stuck in the same place I was 25 months ago. Does this sound like you? Are you tired of feeling stuck? Today I learned that on February 20th I like to wear green workout pants and a black sports bra, at least that’s what I have apparently done for the past two years 😂. But it provides a perfect opportunity for a transformation post. A year ago I was completely satisfied with my progress, with my effort, and with the habits I have built. But staying on top of your health is a lifelong journey. So as I have continually searched for growth and change over the past year, one thing has remained constant: my support system 👯♀️. I had tried working out on my own, working out with Spence or friends, running to keep my interest, and even these at home programs, but I ALWAYS fell off the wagon. Over the past two years I can count how many workouts I have missed and how many times I have completely fallen off track on one hand ✋🏻. I swear it’s all due to my supports. If I didn’t have them to check in with every day, to pick me up when I am down, or to hold me accountable, instead of continual growth and change, I would have stayed stagnant. Counting down the days until Operation Spring Break starts 🌴👙🌊 and I’m so excited for all the ladies who have already committed to join me. Life’s funny sometimes. I always have had a passion for helping people (hence the psychology degree 👩🏼🎓) but when the opportunity fell into my lap to lead, help, and inspire people on their health & wellness journeys, I never knew how much joy I would get from it. Seriously, last night I was supposed to work on a paper for internship, but instead I worked on this side business, simply because it does not feel like work at all.
