As much as I love the netflix shadow and bone and I really enjoyed watching it, let's be so fucking for real: it's not a good adaptation.
Season 1 was not a bad start. Like yeah you can have your complaints about certain acting choices and cgi and whatever (it is a Netflix show let's keep our expectations,,,,,level) but it was not that bad! It was fun, it was pretty faithful to the characters! In terms of book adaptations, it's honestly up there in quality. Season 2, though.
This whole show has been compared to a crack fic, and I second that---its not really the grishaverse. It's like someone's six of crows/shadow and bone crossover fic. Meaning we're smashing together two stories that are each already full of so much content on their own that it would be hard to do it all justice in an 8 episode netflix series. Even harder when you're combining 2 books, random storylines we pulled out of our asses, and scenes from soc and ck that had no business being there. I understand why they did this: six of crows is much more popular than shadow and bone, and the people at netflix wanted to get the most money possible from this. Alas, this hinders the story of the show so so much. For all it's flaws, there is so much good shit in the shadow and bone trilogy. There is SO MUCH that is so interesting, so poignant, so fun, etc etc that we entirely skipped past and cut out because we jammed so much other shit in there that had no reason to be. We skipped almost the entire plot of book 2! And while there's stuff in there that certainly drags on and could be cut, why did we cut out Alina and Mal's time in hiding? The Darkling finding them and everything else with Sturmhond? All the political shit that goes down with Vasily? Alina's struggle with being seen as a saint, her genuine struggle with being plagued by the Darkling? The reveal that Vasily was a fucking idiot and led the Darkling and the Fjerdans to the capital? The CHURCH SCENE??? WHITE HAIRED ALINA??? And that's just book 2! And then we get the canon divergence. Now I'll admit, I was slightly curious to see where they were gonna take this plot. However, if it was gonna go how they seemed to be setting it up, it would've been disappointing. I'm not a fan of stories where after the big climax the female lead loses her magic powers in favor of some peaceful life as a housewife or whatever. However, I loved the way the shadow and bone books ended. It was set up and foreshadowed that using merzost would have a cost. Alina willingly chose that cost to save mal, to have her happily ever after and her normal life which is what she always wanted. To prove the Darkling wrong. That's the important thing. Instead I guess mal goes "damn I know u literally brought me back from the dead but I'm gonna break up with u now bc I hate destiny I guess". And it seems as though the show was planning to have a storyline where Alina deals with having the Darklings power and struggles with whether or not she should succumb to the Darklings ideals or whatever. Which sounds like an interesting plot right? But guess what? WEVE ALREADY SEEN THAT SHIT IN THE BOOKS. IF THE SHOW ACTUALLY SHOWED US WHAT HAPPENED IN THE BOOKS WE WOULDVE HAD ALINA STRUGGLING WITH HER LITTLE VILLAIN ARC INSTEAD OF WHATEVER TF WE WERE HEADING TOWARDS AT THE END OF SEASON 2.
Anyways. Netflix execs get ur shit together and start greenlighting adaptations that fans of the original material---who you are literally appealing to by making this adaptation in the first place---will actually enjoy.

The part of the video about Hades game where the creator himself said that "the Greek gods were called that way because they worshipped by ancient Greeks, but they were not ethnically Greek"....
Wow the disrespect again and how it doesn't make any sense. The Greek gods not only were worshipped by our ancestors (some still do) but they were called that way because they were ethnically Greek too. The same goes to the Egyptian, Norse, Japanese gods and every other mythologies. They are called that way because they were worshipped by the people ot that country.
But it's still frustrating people (especially USians) feeling the need to erase the roots of something that not only it's not theirs, but want to claim it as well. Seriously i thought the game was okay at first, but after that έπεσαν λίγο στα μάτια μου αυτοί :/
This has become the mantra of all people who have baptised Greek mythology a fandom. Newsflash for them: Any god technically has no ethnicity as the god reigns over the world and everyone can be moved by the religion’s philosophy and decide to be initiated in it. This does not just apply conveniently to the Greek religion but to all known religions where deities have power across the universe.
It would be a good moment for some to admit that "racebending" the Greek Gods has nothing to do with whether these Gods have a Greek or other or no ethnic descent or can shapeshift, but it is exclusively a feeling of misplaced right to its abuse for being perceived as a "white religion", "popular with the colonialist West" or even worse "a religion of people who have had colonies at some point a gazillion years back in time", which gives this abuse an element of deserved retribution. These people are in truth well aware of the unethical aspects of it, which is why they consider it racist if done for "POC-originated" religions but almost ferociously exciting when done for the "evil white-originated" one. Furthermore, the potential remnants of ethical concerns that some of these people might have are often overcome by Greece's place on earth, in the Mediterranean Sea, where one can conveniently claim the looks of people are more "open to interpretation" than looks in, say, Scandinavia are. Of course, the concept of considering a person's looks open to interpretation is hugely problematic in itself but this is another can of worms. Besides, it is also very enticing to attempt to argue that this religion / mythology wouldn't be as fascinating if the people's looks weren't open for interpretation (because as we all know in the Tumblr Law, all white people without exception have no indigenous lands or cultures, they landed from another planet just to inflict suffering on others).
Producers, woke creators and obtrusive fans are also equally hypocritical in not admitting that using Greek mythology while trying to modify it to fit in their own reality or a contemporary reality anyway is nothing more than just them liking what the #Western_trends like, coming up with their own little story and trying to project it through the mythology that currently SELLS the most. Trying to change an admittedly famous mythology and squeeze yourself into it instead of finding the one that truly expresses you is a "mimicking the strong one" syndrome accompanied with denial issues. And you know what? It might even be internalised racism for some. Hopefully they will realise it one day as they grow up. This for the “woke”. The producers and businessmen are using the Greek brand and the diversity brand very knowingly to maximise their profit, as they know this is the safest way to attract the trending woke wallets. Idealism, inclusivity or accuracy have absolutely nothing to do with their true intent.
Last but not least, I rarely talk about this and I honestly don’t care as much about it as most people here. Even if a portrayal gets out of typical ethnic Greek look range, towards either the lighter or the darker, I can usually live with it. Some artwork is so beautifully done that I don’t have the heart to be the party pooper. But it’s the self entitlement that gets me and the greediness, the “ I can fix Greek mythology” stance (no dear, you can't, it's a mythology not a car) even though they are AVID readers of it and the “no you don’t know it well, Ancient Greece was like modern USA” no it wasn’t, you just come up with things to prove the validity of your entitlement. And unfortunately when a project is based on so questionable foundations, the creative result is rarely good. It can be, but rarely.
I think I speak on behalf of all Greeks when I say that we don't ask for anything except for the Ancient Greek mythology to be appreciated for what it is. Take it or leave it. For whatever issue in which you personally find the Greek mythology to be lacking, find another one that isn't and also appreciate it for what it is. It's that simple, really.

In her 2015 book Capitalism's Toxic Assumptions: Redefining Next Generation Economics, (Bloomsbury) Eve Poole lays out the seven flawed presuppositions of capitalist economics. Poole, however, should not be mistaken for a radical leftist. She is a reformist liberal who wants to see capitalism function better, not do away with it. Nevertheless, her book provides valuable insight into the problems with the standard paradigm in economics.
She writes that any capitalist paradigm will "require a number of assumptions to be made for that account to hold true" (7). In capitalism, however, there are "meta-assumptions that are so core to the DNA of modern capitalism that they are foundational to our understanding of the market" (7).
Poole identifies seven core meta-assumptions within the capitalist paradigm:
One: competition as the mark of a healthy, well functioning market
Two: the "invisible hand" as an equilibrium calibration mechanism whereby countless market transactions generate social benefits for the whole
Three: utility as the means by which each individual pursuing their own self-interest are assumed to generate ethical outcomes for the common good (closely related to #2)
Four, agency theory, which believes that the interests of capital and labor will diverge
Five: the presumption that market price, based on supply and demand, always settles at a fair equilibrium
Six: the shareholder myth, which prioritizes the interests of the shareholders above all other considerations
Seven: the belief that limited liability (shielding investors from liability in the actions of their corporations in order to incentivize risk) is universally true a d helpful
Poole writes that the "passage of time has shown that many of these assumptions are now open to challenge" and describes them as "faulty foundations" which must be "updated" (8).
What is needed is a paradigm shift. While in the natural sciences paradigms regularly go through upheavals, this is "[n]ot so, however, in the 'science' of economic theory" (8). The trouble is that "old assumptions seem to have assumed the role of precious artefacts" which are beyond challenge and critique and question (8).
Here I think it is worth pointing out that without at least some of these assumptions, capitalism cannot function at all. The reason they are regarded as sacrosanct is for precisely this reason. It remains to be seen whether her fine tuning reforms can realistically happen within capitalism, but in my view this seems unlikely. Capitalism needs these assumptions in order to justify its relentless pursuit of profit maximization, and so the market pressures against any reform efforts will be immense and will eventually overcome them. The experience of the 20th century's experiment with social democratic capitalism between 1945-1971 would seem to prove the point well enough.

I disliked the idea of a World Tour from the very beginning (maybe cause I hate cringing) but I also understand that in Asia, celebrities often do international fan meetings (they do singing, dancing or any other special things for fans) so I would not judge them too harshly altho the stripper number is actually...hard to watch to say the least lmao I would say that the band number (Cummulus? lol) has actually good potential, they know how to play instruments and if Jeff sings then it would be alright. Sadly MA barely got any stage time in their own country, so I don't expect anything different this time either. It's not that I hate the other actors excepting that Builder man but we barely saw them in the show to get invested in what they do or their characters. I'm here for MA and maybe a lil for JeffBarcode. Perth, Bas and Job are okay cause they stay in their business and are kinda cute but not enough for me to stan lol.
I'm not judging the fans for this debacle at all. I'm judging the company for how this whole thing came together. My issue has never been with the people who may want this. My issue has always been with this company thinking they can pull this off when they're clearly ill equipped and too inexperienced to do so. But see, anon, you may have inadvertently raised enough point for me - if this is something that's quite common in Asia, then why do they believe there's a market for something like this elsewhere? In the continent of Asia, this may be something that could be quite successful. In other parts of the world, would that still be the case? Probably not. But that's where an accountant and finance department would be necessary to determine if this type of investment is lucrative and profitable. Sure, the fans may have wanted this but it was still the company's responsibility to determine whether it was feasible to pull off.
I like Jeff and I feel protective of Barcode somewhat, but I'm not that invested in the rest of them. Luckily, I've been given a crash course in some of the cast names so I know the last three people you mentioned here. However, you could put a gun to my head and ask me to tell you the real names of the characters who play Time, Jom, or Tem and I couldn't tell you. Not even if my life was on the line. Yet, some people truly believe it's normal to stan 16 people like this. I don't even care about and/or are interested in 16 people in my real life, anon, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that respect. So if there's not 16 people I know in real life that I check on every day, then why do people believe I (or anyone) would ever choose to become emotionally invested in the real lives of 16 people I may or may not even remember from this show? I'm sure they're lovely people, (obviously not all of them) but my time is way too precious for that. Nobody has the time for something like that, unless they're really young and/or naïve and believe it's possible to do so.
Yeah, I said it. People who push this OT 16 bullshit are naïve as fuck. You're just as clueless as Pond.

The perks of salary - during the off seasons, you get paid to do nothing at work except scroll social media looking for time to kill or something to do. You have weekly meetings detailing office shenanigans and how Sales is about to start a robot battle using modified Roombahs to showcase how good our firm is at the "techy nerd stuff". People want in and don't know the first thing about modifying, much less programming, Roombahs. But your team does - and your phone is blowing up from Slack messages. Teams from other offices you ain't ever heard from dub it the RoboDome. You and your coworkers at the same position/dept. across all branches are banned due to accusations of bribery, theft, and schematic alterations ripped from the iRobot website within the first few hours of the announcement. You become "consultants" for the participating teams, by accepting dog/cat pics, donuts, and covered shifts on holidays. You go back to scial media scrolling the rest of the week, before you remember that you don't need to even be at the office anymore (a habit of yours from the insane crunch period from last month) and file with HR for "work from home". You dread the upcoming crunch time in a few months so you pretend this is how work is done the entire year. You go to tumblr to view your favorite fandom trending and see Neil Gaiman' blog. You remember the dread of work in the last few 'crunches'. You doomscroll more. Still get paid to reblog.
The downsides to having a salary - you work overtime almost every day/week during crunch times with no OT pay or bonuses. You reenact a breakup scene everytime you leave your bed, it hasn't had the bedding washed in over a month, and your coworkers are all zombies begging for someone with brains (to come relieve them from the slog of chugging out code in PHP because one of our clients demanded it in that language). One of the clients called about a syntax typo that crashed everything on the user end and made their systems look "like the Matrix if it was a Scy-Fy knockoff". There's a programmer who has quit at the lunch table at least three times this week but can't officially send off his resignation because his wife is pregnant and needs his insurance benefits (she's doing her residency and can't afford shit). The coffee you reheated in your mug is from last week, and your breakfast of one wrinkly apple and half a bag of Veggie Straws was the only fresh thing you've seen in days. No one knows who is in charge of what, and you keep getting texts asking where you are hiding because all of you engineers owe the dept lead a program from last week that was due a month ago. You get the first email from the owner/CEO of the year, thanking you all from his office that he has been sleeping in for a few days now. There's 4 shareholders that you've never seen or met and they all want monthly updates from each dept. Someone's calling out because their kid is sick and you can taste the salt in the air. You are hiding with the other engineers in one of the 'executive' workstations, feeling like you are putting your forehead against a cheesegrater when you see the jumbled mess of PHP and what you think is PowerShell. You quietly type away and remind your coworkers and yourself, "I need this job".
Between all of this you have periods of normal, healthy, and productive periods of work. You stay at home, get up and shower and get to work, and you do all of your tasks from your living room. You come in for meetings once a month, excited to see people. On special projects you come in everyday. You see code and you see hardware and you see all kinds of cool things that made you fall in love with your career. You hate the "Big 4" in IT for corrupting and warping your industry. You hate what greed has done to necessary industries like IT, education, medical and public services.
You hate how everything that is a commodity eventually seems to turn into a necessity and in turn gets warped for profit and gains. Need a degree? Go get a pricey degree! Need medical attention? You need pricey insurance! You want to use public services? Sorry, we have underfunded those in the last decade or more. They aren't gonna be as helpful - or you can spend more money on this other useless service that kinda sorta works better and is more than the other one! (I'm looking right at you Amazon, and your stupid book subscription thing.)
You are sick of it, but because you make more money than should be possible at your workplace you try to suck it up and tell yourself that it's what you signed up for, like how retail workers know about Black Friday. So you suck it up. And go back to mindlessly scrolling through social media feeds while getting paid.
The benefits of salary: paid to browse.
The downside? Your career's enshittification has you regretting your life choices.

Top 5 Benefits of Using Commercial Fishing Permits Center for Your Alaska Fishing Permits
Alaska is unlike any other place to visit because there are so many things to do outside, like fishing, hunting, and sightseeing. If you live in Alaska, you know that commercial fishing is a big business there, so you can’t be blamed in the least if you want to do the same. Commercial fishing, if done correctly with the necessary Alaska commercial fishing permits, has the potential to be extremely profitable, and the fisheries off the coast of Alaska feature varieties of fish that are in high demand and fetch a high price when sold on the open market.
Before you begin, you will need to acquire the necessary licenses and permits in order to engage in commercial fishing in the state of Alaska. Especially if you don’t know about the requirements, the process can be hard and take a long time to complete. You are in luck because there is a private online service, the Commercial Fishing Permits Center, that can assist you with the process. What's your opinion on Padmé falling in love with Anakin while knowing that he killed a bunch of tuskin people and how he technically can't be in a committed relationship? Do you think it makes her an immature person or just someone who made the wrong choice?
Different anon:
Tumblr media
Aaaah, I have a bit of a complicated relationship with Padmé. I dislike her as a character - as in, I don't particularly enjoy seeing her onscreen - but I try not to let that affect my opinion on her moral character. (I mean, I absolutely adore Dooku but I'm aware that he's a piece of shit, and I'm not really into the OT but I am aware that Luke and Leia are objectively shining beacons of goodness even if I'm not really interested in them.)
So since I kinda dislike her - again, based purely on personal taste, and I do genuinely recognize and appreciate her bravery or kindness even though I skip the Padmé-centric eps/scenes given the choice - I don't really think about her, or talk about her, except in the context of Anidala. (And that's because it's often brought up when talking about the Jedi Order, the one thing I'm much more interested in.)
Hence, I have to honestly say that I don't entirely know how she was intended to be understood. I do think at least some of the issues with the discrepancy between her morals and her behavior can be attributed to clumsy writing. If I had to go and hazard a guess as to how we were meant to see her behavior, it'd be blinded by love ('her judgement clouded by her emotions,' to use the appropriate Star Wars term), and somewhat selfish - but I certainly don't think Lucas meant for her to be a self-centered oblivious monster.
Regarding her telling Anakin he's breaking her heart, I disagree with the interpretation that it was because he was advocating for fascism now, and that was worse than what he'd done. I think it's simply that she was in complete denial up to that point - she didn't believe that he had killed the younglings, because she couldn't believe it (and she could still lie to herself about it because Anakin wasn't admitting to anything up to this point, just saying vague stuff about his powers and saving her). But then he says "I have brought peace to the Republic," and she just can't deny the truth any longer, and that's what makes her back and way and change her mind. It's not that fascism is worse than slaughter, it's that Anakin spewing bs is what opens her eyes, and so it's fascism and slaughter hitting her in the face at the same time.
The issue of the Tuskens is a more complicated one - though believe me, I have ripped into her often enough about it. But what are we meant to understand? That she takes Anakin at his word and thinks the Tuskens are indeed animals? That she just refuses to delve too deeply into the implications of Anakin's actions because she cares about him and she doesn't want to see his life ruined, and so she purposely blinds herself to reality?
I honestly don't know.
I don't know what we were meant to take away. I don't know how Lucas and Co wanted her to be read.
But if you're asking me how I read her...
My understanding of her marrying Anakin despite the rules is that she doesn't get the Order's rules, and so both her and Anakin convince themselves that What They Are Feeling Isn't Wrong (which, true, their love in and of itself isn't wrong) - when it's not the issue with their marriage. I think it was terribly near-sighted of her to marry him (in regard to her own career + the issues it raised regarding the Jedi's neutrality) and disrespectful to the Order as well (which again, I don't think she really understands). As Senator, she has some degree of power over them - so her flouting their rules and marrying one of their apprentices (not even a Knight) really rubs me the wrong way. She could have - should have - asked him to leave the Order for her, instead of accepting to live in secret, and he probably would have done it if she'd been the one asking. (And yeah, "but how could she ask that of him?" - well, Satine couldn't ask that of Obi-Wan so the two of them didn't get together - conundrum solved.)
Also, not disclosing such a connection to anyone - in the middle of a war - was beyond irresponsible. Irl, a high-profile member of government marrying a general during a full scale conflict and not telling anyone would get their asses in SO. MUCH. TROUBLE, and justly so. (And Padmé and Anakin's relationship ended up being a huge liability in the war on multiple occasions).
Her attachment to Anakin blinds her to who he is, to her duty, and to everything that truly matters. She is willing to overlook things she should never have let happen - like the whole situation with Clovis. Can you imagine the political shitshow that would have caused? You have the Senator of the planet the Chancellor is from manipulating her ex - the head of the neutral Banking Clans - with her current Jedi love - a member of the politically neutral Order the Senate oversees - shadowing them both and eventually beating the crap out of said ex. What would that look like? Are the Jedi influencing her? Is the Chancellor using her connection to Clovis? Is she the one influencing both the Order and the Banking Clans to profit her planet, with the approval of the Chancellor? We know it's not what's happening, but it could have led to a complete catastrophe, and she did nothing to safeguard herself against that.
Or when she traded Anakin for Grievous without telling anyone. That was a political nightmare as well, not to mention highly unethical.
So all in all, I don't know how much we were meant to criticize her for all of it, and how much we were meant to empathize with her. Since I personally don't like her, I had a hard time feeling sorry for her most of the time - except for when Anakin scares her or physically hurts her - but that's my own bias. I don't think she's a bad person - or at least, I don't think the worst implications of the way she was written were intentional. (Like how she waited eight months to tell Anakin she was pregnant, since RotS happens over a week max.)
I don't agree with bashing her, or tearing her character down completely, since I don't think that's what we were supposed to take away, but again I don't really know. But to sum it up: to me, Anidala was a gigantic mistake on many different levels, for many more reasons than just Anakin being a Jedi.

Alt Text: The Good Morning America Twitter account (at GMA) on March 3, 2022, writes: "NEW: Disney responds to protests and calls for action surrounding Florida's 'Don't Say Gay' Bill, saying in part, 'The biggest impact we can have in creating a more inclusive world is through the inspiring content we produce.' MORE: https://gma.abc/3sg3P8y"
The image in the GMA tweet says: "We understand how important this issue is to our LGBTQ+ employees and many others. For nearly a century, Disney has been a unifying force that brings people together. We are determined that it remains a place where everyone i treated with dignity and respect. The biggest impact we can have in creasing a more inclusive world is through the inspiring content we produce, the welcoming culture we create here and the diverse community organizations we support, including those representing the LGBTQ+ community."
(Disclaimer before I continue with the alt text: Good Morning America is owned by Disney--so, this is just one part of the corporation covering up for the rest of it.)
Representative Anna V. Eskamani of Florida (on Twitter at AnnaForFlorida) replied on March 4, 2022, at 7:52 AM: "Nope. The biggest impact you could have on the #DontSayGay bill is leverage your political power to stop it or at least amend it. Last session Disney got a theme park carve out on the Governor’s deplatforming bill. If they really wanted to help stop this bill they would & could."
Also, the sponsors of this anti-LGBTQ+ bill have all received campaign contributions from Disney.
So, what the hell does any of this have to do with Soul Eater?
This is what I’ve been trying to get at lately, when complaining about the Fire Force ending, when I say that the argument, “art will save us,” is not enough. The biggest impact creators can have is limited when anyone profiting from those creators' works helps awful people in government to do harm to any of us.
This seemed like Ohkubo’s argument at the end of Fire Force: Shinra argues that, if the world sucks, just keep re-imagining it until it works for you. If we think of Shinra as Ohkubo’s author avatar (soccer fans, both end up creating the Soul Eater world), then this seems like his soapbox speech: be like Shinra, take the despair you feel or someone else feels, and turn that into something that you can live in.
And I don’t want to take away from someone’s personal message in their art, so long as that message is not toxic and hurting people. And I don’t ignore that, yes, art does inspire change in the world. But art only inspires change in the world by giving people the idea. Art inspires action, art doesn’t execute action; art inspires people, but people take that action; art can give a roadmap for what to do, but that roadmap may not be something we can execute in our time, or at any point. Art deserves to be its own thing, it doesn’t have to speak to our real world. But, as I keep complaining, I think that, when Fire Force literally shows warfare as one cause of despair, and then ends with a magical boy turning the post-apocalyptic world into a cartoony world with the Grim Reaper as the One and Only God, there’s a big problem with acting like your art is going to be enough change in the world.
Ohkubo is not responsible for the problems in the United States, especially when it comes to what states like Florida are doing, criminalizing being LGBTQ+, and when corporations like Disney are actively funding that criminalization while at the same time pretending they give a shit about LGBTQ+ persons because fund stories about LGBTQ+ characters. Even creators behind Disney shows know that their art is not enough–a lot of them put their money where their mouth is, and their money where their values are, to donate and to fundraise for protecting and enhancing the lives of people who are in marginalized groups. The nerve of Disney to say that their stories are the best they can do–that is such bullshit when they could defund Republicans and other bigots harming all of us with this anti-LGBTQ+ violence.
Again, not that this is Ohkubo’s responsibility, as it is up to any of us in our own art to do it, but I almost wish there was more of an anti-corporate bent in his works. Fear Factory in B Ichi gets pretty close, although its so over-the-top cartoony that it’s hard for me, without a re-read, to find something that I think is speaking to contemporary issues in Japan. (There are a few references to SquareEnix [the publisher of Ohkubo’s B Ichi and Soul Eater] in B Ichi, but I don’t think those are in association with Fear Factory to read as biting-the-hand-that-feeds-you humor. I don’t think it’s even at the level of Horikoshi ribbing his publisher Shueisha by having Curious in My Hero Academia running an evil publishing corporation with a similar name, and that joke by Horikoshi was so unfocused that it seemed like a gag rather than having any meaningful political criticism at his publisher.) Heck, Haijima in Fire Force was raising children into weapons, and it hardly got much pushback for that kind of corporation malfeasance--I guess because, when it is now in-canon with Lord Death using child soldiers, it's hypocritical to criticize one and not the other. And Hibana and others in Haijima got off scot-free, so, guess there isn't much of an anti-corporate bent in his story, anyway.
What I'm trying to say is, if you took something out of Fire Force and its ending, that's great--but your work doesn't stop there. This bigoted shit from Florida? That shit doesn't need just your art--that art is what is going to empower you and, I hope, share your message with others. But you also need direct political action, and that means where you spend your money, where you protest, how you get better people elected into office, and how you persuade your members of your government to do the right thing. Just making art is not enough; using that art is more.
(Also, could we stop calling it "content"? It's art, okay--it's something you created, it's not "content" to consume, it's art, for crying out loud.)

My greatest apprehensions for the new My Little Pony movie & generation.
Today MLP Generation 5 has been made available on Netflix, and on Saturday I’ll be seeing it with my friends in the Milwaukee Bronies. I’ve had an uneasy feeling about it, and finally putting much of that into words was helpful. It was certainly interesting, and I’d like to share it with other people. I’ve done so with only a few, but I want to put this out there before anyone thinks my opinion is contaminated by either seeing the movie, or something getting spoiled. Tomorrow I may be relieved, let down, or just impressed that I managed to predict so much. Something I’ve definitely kept in mind is that with Generation 4’s premieres, finales, and own movie, the trailers were always cut unimpressively (IMHO). So I tended to be pleasantly surprised with pretty much everything I watch from G4, when I even bothered looking at the trailers. So I’ll be quite happy to be proven wrong this Saturday. Now…
They certainly didn’t intend to be flipping off everything Gen 4 established. No creator ever tries that when they’re brought into a franchise in the payroll of the IP owners. But for their society to regress to this point of segregation? The only thought process I can think of for this bizarre departure are A) The new show staff threw their hands up on matching anything with G4... or B) they came up with a totally fresh setting and timeline, and then some exec or analyst at Hasbro said “Heck no, you are GOING to connect this with our previous money-printing machine. Got it?” And that level of mandated storytelling doesn’t fill me with confidence.
I’ve heard at least one comparison to the Sequel Trilogy, which I expected. True, there’s some notable superficial similarities. It’s decades(?) later, the original heroes are spoken of as myths, for various reasons the world is in trouble, and our protagonist is a disciple-slash-fangirl of what the previous heroes fought for. But this is way more drastic and bizarre of a development.
The conflict in the Sequel Trilogy for the galaxy at large is that the Empire has returned, but rebranded. A new set of new jerks wanted power, teamed up with some of the old jerks, got a bunch of big guns, and held the galaxy hostage. That’s something that just happens in repeated strokes of history. It’s the re-drawing of a bunch of borders. The only moral failing there is being lax with fascists.
Having the Sequel Trilogy retread a plot also isn’t as weird as the My Little Pony franchise. The Force Awakens was made decades after the OT concluded, and the previous Prequel Trilogy took a really different direction and wasn’t received well. Then the franchise got completely new owners. So going back to its roots to start things out was a logical move. It’s only been THREE YEARS between these different shows of MLP, so the repetition doesn’t have much charm. Although repetition may not be the right word, since the setup for this show’s racial dilemma is way more extreme.
Equestria for some reason has gone through a jaw-dropping morale decay. Not only have they embraced division they were fighting against in seasons 8 & 9, they’ve regressed to the level of segregation before Equestria was FOUNDED. The Star Wars equivalent of that would be not only everyone fighting the First Order, they also suddenly don’t allow Wookies and other aliens to drink from the water fountains. Like, how the heck did that turn into a problem?
If the only progress undone from Gen 4 were the relationships with the non-ponies introduced later, that would actually make more sense. Social equality has reactionary backlash, which often occurs immediately after landmark victories. Ponies were the ones that held the most power on the world stage (some kinds more than others in Equestria).
But the WAY bigger issue isn’t internal logic and retcons. I learned long ago to set aside any expectation of a reward or pandering for my years-long commitment to a toy franchise. It’s the potential mishandling of the topic of racism, and I worry we’ve already on shaky ground. The morale of “segregation is bad” feels like bottom of the barrel, kind of copout way of tackling racism. At least, it does for settings that are extremely modern like Generation 5 clearly is. Segregation of people by ethnicity, by rule of law, has fully shifted to obsolesce in the cultural landscape of first world countries. Not even the most deranged lunatics in our government like Boebert or Greene advocate for it (not yet anyway). Stories about segregation can still be done really well of course, but it can’t just be about wiping it off the lawbooks and solving everything. It needs look at why people do this in the first place, who fights for it as the status quo, and what social structures and habits keep the thing in place despite the efforts of good people.
Of course, we still HAVE segregation in society. Not legally, but de facto thanks to economic status and civic planning. And not just physical separation, but grotesque imbalances of power and means. Look at job opportunities, home ownership, insurance evaluations, scrutiny by police, investment in local schools, etc. In G4 it was pretty clear that WAY more unicorns got to live in the lap of luxury or centers of commerce and education. Earth ponies were more spread out, rural, and based on an agrarian existence to feed the country. It’s not that G4 did much with it, but that kind of setup is way closer to modern day inequality, and would be a more fertile bed for those kind of stories. Admittedly, the Pegasi city in the trailer looked absolutely LOADED, so maybe we do have that element in store.
What the trailers and press releases are saying feels weak even as just a segregation story. The ponies separating makes segregation look like a bunch of people moving out like feuding roommates… instead of being put in place by a group of people with WAY more power and money than everyone else. Segregation is portrayed as a mutual agreement, not exploitation. My worry is that they’re going to go to Pocahontas routes, and make the root of racism a select few rich figureheads spreading lies. And undoubtedly, rich people in the private and public sector DO profit off of ignorance and violence, and divert attention from real problems. But when white people in America were treating everyone as subhuman, it wasn’t FEAR that was driving it (at least, not exclusively). For one, it was profit and sheer convenience. Manual labor and the least desirable tasks could be foisted on to ‘lesser’ peoples, and they wouldn’t even require a humane wage. Even if there hadn’t been those empirical benefits, discrimination also brought the sadistic sense of self-importance that comes from standing on someone else’s neck. The imaginary structures of racism let people feel comfortable about their place in the universe.
I wouldn’t call Zecora’s introductory episode all that nuanced, but it was definitely more accurate to real life than the (hopefully hypothetical) scenario I described above. In Bridle Gossip, it’s extremely apparent that the Pony majority of Ponyville are the ones acting like tools, and singling out Zecora for being different. They are the ones obligated to apologize to HER. (Even though it’s of course awkward that they wrote Zecora as a rhyming witch doctor, when she’s meant to represent an African person. It might not be so bad if she wasn’t the ONLY Zebra, and the only creature coded that way.)
Companies and studios will gladly tell their audiences to sympathize with victimized individuals and populations of oppression, and hate the individual acts done upon them. But then they’ll get cagey about making some members of the audience feel any kind of guilt, from distantly benefitting from that system; or maybe even subtlety being part of one. It’s not good for the bottom line to name a civilian population for taking any racist, oppressive or outright murderous actions. No, it’s a single evil dictator (or CEO, or general) and their gaggle of cronies, who just needs to be overthrown. We see this toothless crud play out over and over because corporate entities are either A) that naive, or B) scared of some losers with megaphones losing their minds over the suggestion of self-examination. Some people are SO fragile at the idea of self-examination, or guilt. Because it goes back to having an identity, an innocent and sympathetic self-image.

Something that I find hilarious is the fact that the Disney Trilogy is such a dead end in terms of story possibilities and profit. Those movies were such a mess and have so little potential for further stories or spin-offs that literally NONE of the new announced shows/movies have anything to do with that era. And since none of the actors want to return to Star Wars, with Boyega and Isaac even outright scorning the idea, there’s no way that their stories can be continued in live action. And even if they DID want to continue the story, what would it even be ABOUT?? The rebuilding of the New Republic and making a new Jedi order after the old one was destroyed?? That’s just a literal rehash of the Disney trilogy LMAO ☠️
And in terms of profit, this trilogy is dead in the water. It made its box office money, sure, but aside from that, it’s not going to be a long-term moneymaker since none of the merch related to it sells. Like the profits on the merch were so overwhelmingly bad that when they unveiled the merch for the 40th anniversary of ESB, there was NO new merch for the sequels, even though the Mandalorian and Jedi:Fallen Order got a whole bunch. There were literal executives at toy companies complaining about how much money they lost on making merch for the Disney trilogy, and they outright stated that it doesn’t sell. And I know that Disney’s hoping for another prequels situation where fan reception got better over time, banking on kids being a future generation of fans who will grow up, express appreciation for the trilogy, and spend money on it because they love it out of nostalgia, but that won’t work because that would require today’s generation of kids liking it in the first place?? Nostalgia only works when people liked something as a kid, and today’s kids don’t care about Star Wars — they care about the MCU. So today’s kids won’t grow up to be a generation of fans who will loyally buy merch for the Disney trilogy. Instead, the only people who will bring in continuing profits for the Disney trilogy are the current fans, and as we have mentioned before, they are so few/dispassionate that Disney’s actually LOSING money on merch
LMAAAO, like at this point, Disney should just cut its losses, stick the Disney trilogy into an alternate universe, and replace it with a new post-ROTJ trilogy. Maybe that way, we can actually get a trilogy that gives us a coherent narrative arc, respects the successes and personalities of the OT trio, treats its nonwhite characters with respect, gives us storylines that aren’t just boring rehashes of Empire vs Rebels, and actually allows POC to be the main characters. I guarantee that THAT will bring in a lot more fan passion and money in the long run
i really do hope that disney and other companies can at least learn a lesson from this so it never happens again. they really thought that by using nostalgia they could make a HUGE profit but star wars fans aren’t like other fanbases.

Understanding Disability in Capitalism
Tumblr media
I do not mention this much, but I suffer from a rather large amount of Fatigue, Now, I do not exactly know what is causing this. It might be Chronic Fatugue Syndrome, or CFS. It might be a result of my ADHD, Anxiety, and Depression. I do not know.
All I know is that I have been dealing with this for decades at this point. As a result, it has been hard for me to be as productive as I would otherwise have liked to, and I have constantly been considered “lazy“ for not working harder.
But the thing is, at least 4-7 times a week, I crash. This is often after doing a lot of mental or physical work, but after that, It might take a few hours to a full day before I can fully get back to being as productive as I used to be.
As someone who works for myself and does a lot of side hustles and run a business in order to mae rent, this can be rather hard for me. But I am not writing this as a pity party story, I am writing this to talk about our current system of Capitalism, and how disabled people are often left in the dust.
Tumblr media
When you think of a Disability, you probably think of someone in a wheelchair. You probably think of someone who is blind, or deaf, or paraplegic. And while these disabilities are indeed part of the disabled spectrum, many people who are ignored ot stigmatized due to having an “invisible disability“. These are disablities like mine that are are seen with the naked eye.
these include ADHD, Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, Depression, Anxiety, CFS, and more.
Since we live in a culture and society that promotes productivity above all else, and views the value of people on how much they can contribute to the economy, disabled people are often seen as “defective.“ and this is wrong.
Many of us are unable to work long hours on our feet, or unable to work particular jobs due to what our limits are. And if your boss pays you minimum wage, or close to minimum wage, you might not be able to survive on part-time work.
Many of us force ourselves to work way past our limits in order to earn more money to pay rent, pay for food, or otherwise support ourselves and our families. This often causes us significant amounts of pain and anguish, and harms our overall quality of life.
Tumblr media
We need to work to bring awareness to these issues, and to help craft a society where people like me do not have to kill themselves to make a profit. To provide for themselves and their families.
Donating to the Invisible Disabilities Association or the AAPD can help a ton. But most of all, educate yourself on these disabilities and how they may effect people, and be a good ally to people who have to deal with this on a daily basis.
Support people who have disabilities, and call out ableism when you see it.

( lady katherynne of house baratheon )        the storm’s light , thirty years old
kindness  -  light  ,  radiates  from  her  fingertips ,  but  she  wears  a  shroud  heavy  on  her  shoulders . she is sunlight  upon  the  sea  ,  freshly  bloomed  roses  sitting  next  to  a  gilded  cage  ,  birds  in  flight  across  a  grey  sky  ,  &  an  unspeakable  sadness behind  closed  doors.
there are brief mentions of depression , anxiety , infidelity, emotional abuse and supposed infertility below . proceed with caution !
born to lord and lady baratheon , mere minutes behind her twin, theoden.  katherynne quickly was regarded as ‘ the light of the stormlands ’  ,her kindness and disposition presented a child who was expected to bloom flowers underfoot.
she was a relatively sickly child and was very frequently kept indoors ( which is why now as an adult she loves nature more than anything else in the world )
as she grew , she proved herself to be inherently kind , compassionate, and genuinely altruistic, the concerns of others (particularly her siblings) always come before hers. in katherynne,  the  baratheon  children  found  their  greatest  protector  and  champion.
for this reason, she was relatively overlooked by her parents, despite their minimal attempts to connect with her, because she was so mild mannered and far less ambitious.
her father treated her more like a pet to be occasionally attended to than a daughter , more frequently, he searched for pleasure at the bottom of a cask, careful to ignore his children and spend away the house’s fortune. her mother was intensely critical of katherynne until her death. katherynne’s beauty and ‘demure’ nature , she reasoned , would make her valuable when she reached a marriageable age.
truly , though , katherynne was simply content to live a happy life . she was never particularly ambitious for anything other than that , something her mother resented she maintains that katherynne could have been queen if she were to only have applied herself more.
still, she grew up with the finest instruction and training. she was deceiftully clever, learning the ins and outs of westerosi political games by observation. she’s more cunning than one would believe, but her intentions are honorable, so she rarely has use for those tactics (she’s completely able to spot them when they’re implemented by others)
when the time came , in order to settle a massive debt in his house, katherynne’s father   promised his daughter to the lord of house royce with absolutely no say in the matte.  katherynne left her home to brave the vale. the transition was difficult , and not at all aided by a husband who was , at best , indifferent to her very existence and at worst ( and it always seemed to  be worse ) , entirely opposed to her presence in his life.
again , feelings of inadequacy settled in her heart. despite her most valiant efforts to be a good wife , the lord  moryn royce never quite warmed to her. the marriage bed was for the purpose of procreation , or to satiate a marital ‘duty’, and she slept entirely alone every night.
lord royce had little interest in his young bride or the continuation of his house, yet he would rage about katherynne’s failures to any who would listen.  instead, he took pleasure in destroying katherynne’s image.. a man focused entirely on his own self-interest , he began to have affairs , painting katherynne as a cold unfeeling wife to any who would listen , entirely incapable of the duties of a ruling lady. eventually his indifference turned to resentment , and cruel words  & threats were often bandied about to put her in her place. it was not uncommon for her husband to slip her moon tea without her knowledge, to ensure that no child would come from their union ( even though the difficulty to produce a child was his own ) , nor was it uncommon for her to be locked away in her room. he began to spread rumors. of madness, feeble-mindedness. she was not presented unless she was asked for, and otherwise remained in the confines of runestone poor lord royce most thought , trapped with a wife so very pretty , and so very mad. the rumors have carried on to this day.
life in the vale  was often a very solitary , very miserable experience for katherynne , and to a certain extent it hardened her heart ( or at the very least , made her more practical ). she found solace in the only friend she had managed to make during her torment, and considered herself to be a friend of the arryn family.
she spent the entirety of her marriage trying to bear her husband a child, but each effort was fruitless. katherynne wanted nothing more than a child , and the dream seemed to slip further and further from her grasp. eventually word began to circulate that perhaps the lady was not capable of bearing children. no one once thought to question her husband and his fertility ( which was the 100% cause ).
her husband died , leaving her childless , directionless , and with no other option than to return to storm’s end, until the arryn family presented her with a temporary solution - a temporary space to heal.  – she remained in  the eyrie as  a member for a time , before she realized that her past would not stop haunting her just because she had the arryns’ protection.  she remained in the eyrie for some time following her husband’s death, until her mourning had ended.
katherynne would be called back to the stormlands once her mourning had ended, her father keen to try and restore her reputation and find another profitable match for her.
now, katherynne  has begun to teach herself to be comfortable as the maiden aunt to the children of her siblings. she is widely seen as ‘damaged goods ‘ not simply widowed , but having no evidence that childbearing is even a possibility for her. she fully intends to live out her days as a member of  in her brother’s home, though her heart yearns for more.
RANDOM FACTS & OTHER TIDBITS
kat is a very gifted high harpist
she has a head for history and facts, and is incredibly interested in politics — she’s a clever girl and has a lot of insight ( people just never use it why?? ).
she’s stronger than she looks, and has the tendency to keep her emotions locked away until she feels comfortable enough to reveal them.the same goes for her opinions, though she’s incredibly opinionated
she has a very witty & light sense of humor, and often uses it as a coping mechanism.
she’s genuinely?? passionate about people??
sneaky temper
cares so deeply about ot
knows how to keep a secret.
resident mom friend.
crippling fear of failure
will dote on any child at any time.
has a dog that she also dotes on like a child — he’s her biggest confidante.
prone to overreact a bit
she’s genuinely just tired ?? of having her life controlled by other people ( men especially ) ?? but trying to get out of that and assert control is a vicious cycle and she’s overwhelmed.
once you lose her trust, it’s incredibly difficult to regain.
soft but strong ? genuinely undaunted by most things and ready to face whatever life brings her.
because of the reputation that katherynne has garnered in westeros, when moryn died, there was speculation that foul play was involved. though katherynne had no real dealings in his death , many think to pin the blame on her.
altho-though she’s a person who generally fills the lives of others with light, she often finds it very difficult to do the same for herself. her moods are very changeable ( though she doesn’t let it show ) and she’s very prone to feeling nervous. though there isn’t really a westerosi definition for it that doesn’t extremely overlook the validity of mental illness, katherynne suffers from depression & anxiety ( potential in the form of bipolar disorder ), and tries to find little ways to cope with her ‘moods.’

I wanna talk about Disney for a moment. Specifically, Disney’s Star Wars.
Because to me? What they did with these Star Wars movies? Classic Disney at this point.
They bragged about how ‘diverse’ they were with the new Star Wars movie. Rey, Finn, Rose, Maz, Phasma, and so on. Disney rode in on their high horses to grandiosely announce how ‘diverse’ they were.
And yet.
Let’s take these in order, shall we? I’m going to try and keep these points somewhat brief, as I could go on for ages about this. Please do bear in mind: I hold no animosity, and a great deal of sympathy for these actors, and I do not condone any slander against them as people. We can criticize the character, but the actors should be off-limits.
Let’s begin.
With Rey, they bragged about the first main female character in Star Wars -ignoring Leia, Ahsoka, Padme, and so on. However... They wanted to brag about giving us this ‘gift’, but they did nothing with her. Rey was the classic blank slate character, a Mary Sue straight from the pages of a young writer’s FF.net fiction. They spent exactly zero time turning Rey into a well fleshed out character, instead just settling for, ‘she wants to find her family’. They spent zero time turning Rey into a human being, and settled on, ‘she is perfect and can do no wrong’. They ended the series with Rey literally taking everything she hadn’t earned, and then stealing the OT characters’ name, and said, “Look how progressive we are!”. They didn’t want Rey to earn things on her own, they didn’t want to give her plots where she learned that a name was meaningless, and didn’t define her. They just wanted her to look cool, be badass, have zero faults, and be the main centerpiece. They wanted their ‘good ally’ tokens, but didn’t want to put any work into it.
Fin had a similar problem; they bragged about the first main black Star Wars character (again, ignoring Lando, but we’ll let that go for now). But what did they do with Fin? They spent zero time on his continuity, zero time on his personality, and by RoS, he’d become nothing more than the comedic relief -something I particularly find abhorrent, given that this was the classic ‘funny black best friend’ trope that I’ve seen so many times. He went from being a Stormtrooper to a janitor. Even John Boyega criticized this, saying that Fin was given no direction, no purpose, and that they shoehorned him into RoS. In the posters for the Asian market, he was literally shrank down to almost nothing, and hidden away in the bottom corner, to appease the Asian markets. Disney wanted their ‘good ally’ token for having a main black character, but didn’t want to put any work into it.
Rose? What even was Rose? Was she a character? They took an attractive woman, and made her frumpy for some reason. They turned her into the laughing stock at her ‘we do it by saving what we love’, turning her into the lovestruck girl willing to damn her friends, and her cause, for the sake of the guy she fell in love with over a few hour period. The only background we received was that she joined the Resistance because rich people funded the First Order who destroyed her home. That was it. Her lines were atrocious, her character development non-existant, and she was literally the most obvious, forced, ‘see, capitalism bad’! billboard I have ever seen in my life. (Note: I’m not complaining about the ‘message’, but rather the delivery: this is akin to telling children, ‘murder is bad’ -and then acting like you’ve said something poignant). They wanted their ‘good ally’ token for having an Asian female, but they didn’t want to put any work into it.
Maz Kanata? Shit, don’t even get me started on this walking Yoda ripoff. She was in TFA solely to give Rey the lightsaber, and tell her to find Luke. Literally, she does nothing else. She’s not given any character, any dimension. The one opportunity we had for getting some background on this character -namely, how she had Anakin’s lightsaber -we were told, ‘Eh, don’t ask’. Like, literally, the character said, “Another time.” in response to being asked how she had it. She appears in TLJ just long enough to say, “Go find this dude who spends all of his time in this casino, and ask him to help you -I’m very busy, so I can’t help you, but this guy I’ve had sex with in the past -he can help you.” That was it. Her entire screen time was about two minutes. They wanted their ‘good ally’ token for having a half-black/half-Hispanic actress voicing her, but didn’t want to put any work in to.
And good lord, Phasma. This character was presented in the movies as the ultimate bad guy; both Gwendoline Christie and Disney screamed from the rooftops about how awesome it was that there was a Star Wars female villain, and how we would love her due to her ‘actions, and her character!’. And then we were presented with roughly seven minutes of screen time, in which she did nothing, other than antagonize Fin somewhat, only to pathetically die to the janitor man. They wanted to get their ‘good ally’ token for having a female villain, but they didn’t want to put any work in to it.
The lesbian kissing scene? Not only were they unnamed characters, one of which I don’t think we’d ever even heard speak... Not only was it a brief, four or five second shot of them kissing in the background... but it was cut from international markets. They wanted the American progressives to give them their ‘good ally’ tokens, but they were too afraid to stand by their decisions.
And that? That pretty much sums up Disney at this point. They’re the ultimate cowards. They will do only the most cursory things to get the progressive community to hail their movie, but they won’t do a penny more. They’re too afraid of losing money. They’re too afraid of angering the international markets. They want the appearance of being socially progressive, but they don’t want to put anything but the the briefest of efforts into doing it -and then they minimize what they have done.
It’s sickening. I have zero respect for cowards. I respect people who’s opinions I find abhorrent more than I respect cowards. Because it takes conviction to stand by something you believe in -it can be wrong, disgusting, or immoral, but at least you have some conviction in what you believe. You’re willing to take a stand for what you believe in.
But cowards? Cowards jump to stay with the ‘in-crowd’. Cowards do whatever it takes to make sure nobody says anything bad about them. Cowards care about profit over conviction.

Three for one hosting 2020 Review  –  Features and Benefits
There is no need to argue more, the first and the hugest benefit you will get from three for one hosting is money saving. I mentioned how cheap but optimized it as all round this review, sure you already feel eager to own it.
However, it doesn’t just stop there, Three for One Hosting is definitely a powerful host being equipped with high capacity and background techs that you can absolutely place your trust in. To give you a more detailed overview about it, the host has been ranked as one of the best supplier in the field that host over 50,000 accounts, which has been increasing every single minute. The success thanks to both the capacity and the specialized support team working efficiently to always come up with numbers of blowing mind ideas. You know, in this field, “specialized” is not a simple word, it contains much more efforts and professional to be claimed as such since providing support for hosting is really difficult compared to supporting for an app or an ebook. It requires lots of comprehensive knowledge and high skilled techs who master hosting so as to offer any service quickly. This is not cheap, but three for one hosting already had that in place for years.
Furthermore, trust me three for one hosting is way better than other common hosts in this field. Picture for you a scenery of using other hosting offers you might encounter. For example, you buy a reseller account on some unknown hosting company from those hosts but they don’t have any real business connection with, launches that. In a lot of cases, they have to provide their own support that you need to handle a skeleton crew of untrained Vas several times. It will be such as mess in that case since you will get delays, wrong answers, and eventually you will have to ask for the refunds for being too irritated with the poor service. And remember, a refund is not something you gain but literally it takes money back out of your pocket, too. That’s a win for the vendors on the people who don’t refund or complain, but in fact, a lose for you. Those bad situations I certain that happens numerous times, so don’t irritate yourself spending your own budget on them.
Another point that I need to mention about is the long term benefit that you will gain from three for one hosting. As you know, the price of web hosting services is hiking recently. Disclose for you the sad fact that the company behind cPanel (the app you log into on almost all web hosts) announced the increasing price and the change of payment condition last year. They used to charge per server, which was already expensive yet now, they’re going to charge per account, which costs even much more. That hit every cPanel installation at every host, as you and me. Sometimes, the cost you have to pay for cPanel licenses is way more than the server you have. No matter how much benefit you gain from the website, you need to pay for it month after month, no exception. Just imagine your profit is none for several months while you still need to suffer from the expensive cost to run the website. It it totally absurd and irritating! On deals where it’s feasible, like this one, practically, three for one hosting would able to absorb the additional cost. Where necessary, the hosting offers pre-emptively moved to a different control panel solution that looked just like a theme update to users. This one is totally a blowing mind and sophisticated function that you rarely find in other hosts. Many of others would never anticipate such situation so that when things happen, they suffer paying huge bill that they didn’t count on in their unlimited hosting deals. And at the end, the worst scenery is that they couldn’t afford more, quit, shut down and then disappeared. I certain to you that you can trust that three for one hosting will never be on the same page with them!
Last but not least, the 2020 version of three for one hosting remarks with several upgrade form Power SSD hosting, professional add ons, software package and many more! Try it out and believe in me there is no way you will feel disappointed!

for the ask meme, how about 1, 8, and 13?
1.  Fave/Least Fave MovieFAVE:  Answered here!LEAST FAVE:  The Last Jedi.  It hasn’t aged well for me and the longer I sit with it, the less satisfying I find it to be.  I would say that it’s probably the most polished of the ST movies and I can absolutely make sense of Luke Skywalker’s journey, but I just don’t find it satisfying.I don’t like the pacing of it, that an entire third of the ST is spent only inching the plot forward by a matter of days, it makes the scope of the entire sequel trilogy feel so much smaller and less epic for it.I don’t like that watching Luke’s scenes isn’t fun for me, that the longer I sit with some of the moments of humor, the less they work for me.  Luke tossing the lightsaber over his shoulder?  That really only sort of worked for me the first time, after that it just feels weirdly mean towards everything that lightsaber meant, good and bad.  Which is the point, I just don’t care for it.  Same for how Luke whacking Rey’s hand and making that sarcastic face is an amazing face pulled off by Mark Hamill, but I don’t like how mean-spirited it feels on repeat watchings, not for Luke Skywalker.I don’t like the wasted potential of Canto Bight and the lack of connecting it to anything that has come before, despite that it’s supposed to be Galactically Famous And Important.  I don’t like the total lack of Finn being right there and having a hugely important reason to be angry about the people who profit off war and what that steals from other people’s lives.I don’t like how little Ben Solo interacts with Luke or Leia.  I understand the lack of Leia, she was supposed to be more in IX, but even if he’d gotten as much interaction with her as he did with Han in VII or Luke in VIII, that still feels like the only relationship that got any kind of development was with Rey, that it makes the scope of his character feel very small to me, when he’s supposed to have significant relationships with all of the OT trio.  It makes his confrontation with Luke that much less powerful for me, because they barely said two words to each other otherwise.I don’t like that Poe fucks up and fucks up in this movie and then Leia still turns around like, “Why are you looking at me?  Follow him!”  Like, I don’t think Poe is a bad person and I do think he’s leadership material and his mistakes are totally sympathetic and not unreasonable at all, but this movie didn’t do the groundwork to show why that is, I had to depend on the comics and novels to fill in those gaps for me.  And I don’t like that criticism of Holdo’s actions often got dismissed as misogyny when, okay, no, I’m on her side, but also there’s a point to be made that maybe a better leader might have noticed the mutiny brewing under her nose.  At least something to talk about, even if I am absolutely on her side, because she didn’t owe him an explanation.  (Also, those comments about Rian wanting to see her shape in the feminine dresses?  Ehhhhhh.)I don’t like the idea of Rey’s parents being “nobody” is devastating for her, because she never cared about bloodlines or importance, other than who they were to her.  I get that the movie meant, “They don’t care about you.”, which is what really hurt Rey, but it got wrapped up in the idea of being “nobody” and it just didn’t work for me.And I think it relies too much on being reactionary to what it thinks the audience wants and then going in the opposite direction–which is still basing a lot of what the movie does on audience reactions, rather than doing something that felt more organic to me.  Sure, TROS does the same thing, but at least I had some fun while watching the movie.AND DON’T GET ME STARTED ON “ANYONE CAN HAVE THE FORCE” BECAUSE NO FUCKING SHIT THAT’S WHAT THE PT JEDI WERE AND ALSO TCW SHOWED VERY CLEARLY THAT THEY WERE NOT THE ONLY FORCE USERS IN THE GALAXY AND THE FORCE HAS NEVER BELONGED TO THE JEDI.8.  Fave/Least Fave ConceptAnswered here!13.  Fave/Least Fave KissFAVE:  NO KISS WILL EVER BEAT THIS ONE:
Tumblr media
(Well, unless Obi-Wan finally dip kissed Anakin in the afterlife, but they haven’t actually SHOWN that, yet, LOL KIDDING.)(Sort of.)LEAST FAVE:  I dunno, either the Finn/Rose one (because it had no impact) or the Ben/Rey one (because sooooo much discourse inspired by it that it’s kind of eaten the fandom), mostly because they didn’t inspire anything in me personally, though, if people like them, then as long as you’re not an asshole about it, then I hope they enjoyed them

First month of the soft lair reset’s now behind me, and what a month it’s been! So, I’ve detailed the hows and the whys in this post, but in brief: I put all my permas in the den and all my items/currency in the vault and started over. I, uh, may also have only bought G1s so far because I like pain, apparently.
Here’s a brief summary of what I accomplished:
Got four dragons to level 25; still grinding for stones for one
Bought tinctures for all four, as well as two Eliminates, six berserkers and six ambushes. Mage stones were fortunately dirt cheap
Breedchanged four dragons; fully gened three (including two gem genes!!); number four will be completed later this month
Bought apparel for everyone, including cycled and gem-exclusive apparel
Became best friends with Crim
Can do G&G in my sleep
Also gonna change the rules a little re: exalt profits
The saga goes into detail under the cut.
The First Coliseum Team
Dinah and Isaac at the top there are my new progens; I bought Jairus (bottom left) on the same day, with my funds from capping the streak, to get a Coliseum team up and running right off the bat. I figured Coli’s my best chance of making profit and getting what I needed for my growing lair, so all my hard-earned dragon cash went into battlestones.
Boy oh boy that was absolutely grueling--I made Isaac a mage but couldn’t afford my first Eliminate until the gang reached level 16. Had zero lucky drops so I had to save up for the second one too, and finally got it when they were level 24. Add six ambushes, six berserkers and three tinctures on top of that and hoo boy. At least the mage stones were dirt cheap.
So, battle stones were brutal, and getting ‘em all to 25 took me about three weeks. Coli’s slow when you scratch your way through the battles; the occasional elemental slash speeds things up slightly, but... yeah it took time. They hit 25 on June 18th and I could finally start saving up for their genes.
Genes and Apparel
Coli wasn’t kind with genes or apparel either, I vainly hoped it’d give me at least one of the three things I wanted from it: Python, Morph or a Cleaver. Hah, nope! Only Candycane for you!
I thought the gem terts were absolute madness to save up for, but they proved to be the easiest. I’ve mentioned it before, but I got a Hawksbill Goliath drop, I got four eggs (almost felt like a newbie!!) and sniped a couple of the new rings and suddenly I had all my gems in order, I could afford both genes and the gem apparel I wanted. I’m, uh, probably not going to make a habit of getting dragons that require either gem or coli genes or gem apparel, though.
The treasure, though, I got from playing G&G pretty hardcore, hoardselling Coli drops and visiting Crim every hour I was on! Took time but it’s predictable, and whew I completely forgot just how good a source of income Crim is when you’ve got a few items.
Saar, The Third Coli Farmer
So farming with a mage and two fighters is just... such a slow going. I tried, I really did, but it drove me up the wall, so I acquired Saar for the neat sum of 20 gems, just three days ago, and now he’s gonna fight for me. I got him up to 25 yesterday, but he’s not ready to earn his keep yet, ‘cause he ain’t got no battle stones. Pinkerton gave me two Berserkers so that’s nice, and once I cap my lucky streak tomorrow, I’ll buy him an eliminate. After that, well, just two ambushes to go and we’re up and running.
He also fortunately looks beautiful with all treasure genes, hooray! He still needs Trail and Veined, but I’m almost done chucking stuff into Baldwin’s cauldron now and can probably start brewing reinforced glass beakers and stuff tomorrow. As an aside, I’m noticing junk apparel’s the hardest thing to come by as a newbie; I do get some from the Coli but nowhere near the rate I get familiars to throw in the cauldron.
My goal’s to have him ready in time for Thundercrack, and I think that should work just fine.
Lore
Has been rather lackluster so far; I’ve been working on other creative projects and these have just slowly been boiling in the backburner. I also kinda need my dragons dressed to get a proper personality from them, y’know, and now that that’s in order, the ideas are starting to bloom, so! Lore’s gonna be something I focus on going forward.
Rule Changes
So one of my initial rules was that all the exalt profits from my Dragonwish Foundation breeding projects would go directly to the vault. I’m gonna change it slightly, 75% of the profits go into the vault and 25% stay with the new lair, for a few reasons:
All my nests are in use solely for DWF; I can’t buy random fodder pairs for the new lair and breed them without completely throwing off my already-tight DWF schedule
There’s only one of me, even though I pretend I’m running two lairs. When I’m done leveling the day’s dragons, I’m not really up for sinking even more time into leveling a new bunch of dragons.
25% shouldn’t be too OP, so I’ll try it out and see where it goes. If I do feel it takes the challenge out of the new lair, though, I’ll scale back, of course. I won’t really notice the changes until Earth’s pushing again, anyway.
Goals for the next month
So, I already stated two of ‘em: Complete Saar with stones and genes, and work on lore. Not the world’s biggest goals but I like to keep it realistic.
I also gotta figure out if I’ll run a pure G1 lair or if I’ll buy non-G1s. That’ll probably be easier to figure out as I flesh out the lore and get ideas for new characters.
