Hello hello hello ! I was wondering if I could get a scenario for Bakugou if he had fought a girl during the sport festival who had a teleporting quirk (like tracers from ow) and throughout the whole fight he started to fall for her because of her strength and overall self (sorry if this is long af I just really love your writing and had this in mind for a while) thnxs buddy ! 💖
I was almost done with this request and for NO FUCKING REASON my laptop powered down. Lost all of it. I retyped it but I seriously wasn’t sure whether to cry or throw my laptop at the wall. still feel like crying.
Also I’m so glad you like my writing! Fortunately I play OW so I know how Tracer’s abilities work. However one of my biggest weaknesses in writing is action scenes, so this may be more thoughts/dialogue and after-effects than the match itself. Hope that’s okay!
You’re fast. You’re agile. You’re smart. But you’re also becoming predictable. Bakugou has become aware of every one of your moves, from when you attack with your right fist and lead with a kick of your left leg. He’s noticed all of it. Observant and strategic behind that explosive personality Bakugou most certainly is.
This had been going on for a while. You going in for an attack and him countering again and again. He knows that he can’t chase after you or else he’ll just tire himself out.
He didn’t come into this match imagining he would lose. No, there’s no way. He also didn’t come into this match with expectation. No, he’d wait to find out just how you fight.
He’s quick to catch on that you’re about to teleport to his right, tossing a kick his way. Bakugou steps back and dodges, swinging a hand in your direction ready to hit you with an explosion.
You teleport away just in time, and when you do, it’s exactly where he expected. Good. Right before you teleported away, Bakugou swept another attack in your direction, now to his left where he expected you to be. “Not so fast, shitty girl! I’ll kill you!” The crowd unanimously mutters to one another about his unhero-like behavior, but he pays no mind.
When you realize he’s about to hit you in the face directly with his crackling palms, you attempt to dodge but, to your surprise, rather than land an attack he grabs you by the collar of your uniform and tosses you behind him. “Gotcha!”
You gasp and prepare to make impact with the ground, Bakugou throwing you towards it, but instead, the violent and bruising connection never comes. No, he had gripped onto the front of your shirt in order to lessen the damage of the fall. He already got what he wanted anyways - between you is the line separating the winners and the losers of the Sports Festival.
You can beat Bakugou in a physical battle, you know this. However, you figured you could outsmart him and tire him out. All this time, you had been subtly pushing him back toward the line, hoping to knock or throw him across it when he isn’t expecting it. However, somehow, Bakugou caught on to your scheme.
The crowd eventually roared in cheers and applause, as they would any victor. Present Mic’s commentary and Midnight’s announcement of Bakugou’s win fills the stadium.
Laying on your back on the dirty and rocks, you stare up at Bakugou, who has been staring down at you this whole time. The fiery anger and passion isn’t in his eyes right now, leaving a different kind of intensity in his gaze. It confuses you and intimidates you, and when you open your mouth to question him he speaks first.
“You thought I wouldn’t notice what you were doing?” He says to you, with an odd calm seriousness in his voice. Part of you wants to ask if he’s the one who’s okay, even though he just tossed you like you weigh nothing.
Your eyebrows furrow, and you hear Present Mic say over the speaker, “Uhhh…Bakugou is the winner!” Once more, as if trying to get things to move on.
Bakugou ignores his cue to leave though, only doing it on his own time. “I was kind of hoping you wouldn’t, yeah…” You say eventually.
He’s still kneeling over you, and even though you could, you don’t make any move to get up. Then, without another word, Bakugou jerks you away and stands up, letting go of your uniform.
You thought he would curse and say something like ‘shitty girl’, but no. Instead, you slowly get to your feet and watch his back as he walks away from you, hands in his pockets as if this whole fight was nothing.
Somehow, Bakugou seems like he’s in a whole other league than you. A league that you some day will conquer and demolish in your wake. Hopefully, Bakugou surpasses that league beside you. You can’t be mad at him after all, and in fact, you admire him. ‘Some day, Bakugou, we’ll be head to head’. You then give a polite bow of respect to the audience before making your way to your own exit, a small, sincere smile on your face.
Once he’s alone, walking through the empty school hallway, Bakugou is surrounded by nothing but the quiet corridor. The same solemn expression is on his face, as if his mind is on a whole other planet. He takes this time to think to himself, or at least somehow deal with the way he’s feeling.
Truth is, he didn’t catch onto what you were doing until the perfect moment. You slipped up, kept glancing down at the line as if you were focusing on getting him to it. He began to notice your intentions then and only then.
You almost outsmarted him. If you didn’t do that, you might have even gotten him out of bounds. He didn’t think of you as a girl while you fought, no, he thought of you as an opponent. A formidable one.
But never will he let you or anyone else know that. And never will he let anyone know that, in the split-second between throwing you to the ground and catching you, he realized something else. Throughout that whole fight he had been surprised by you. Opposed by you. And now that it’s over, he respects you.
As it turns out, you are not only skilled, but you are a girl, too. He couldn’t just throw you to the ground, nor could he curse at you for being a girl. Then it would seem as though he thinks less of you, and hidden behind that, he would never want to hurt you.
Bakugou’s face scrunches in frustration. That’s right. He didn’t want to hurt you. And staring down at your face in front of thousands of viewers, he still felt like it was only you and him on that field.
His chest fills with a strange warmth the more your face starts to bombard his thoughts. With a growl, Bakugou clenches his fist and punches the nearest door, making a fist-shaped hole right through it. “Gah!!! Shitty (Y/N)!”
“…Um, Bakugou..?”
He looks up, seeing you standing about teen feet away with a mixture of confusion and unease on your face. Did he punch that wishing it were you?
You stare at him as he stares at you, the expression on his face still unreadable. Then, suddenly, he starts to approach you. You stiffen up, watching him, unsure of what he’s going to do or say. When he’s standing before you, he stops and looks down at you.
After a moment of quiet, he speaks. “..You can’t be so fucking obvious about what you’re looking at.” His gaze falls away from you, instead moving to the floor. “Your dumb ass gave it all away.” With that piece of advice, he walks past you, going back up to the bleachers to watch the next match.
When he made it back, plopping into his seat grumpily, Sero and Kirishima both turned to him, laughing. “Hey, dude, what the hell was up with that at the end, huh?” Sero asks.
“Yeah, we thought you were gonna kiss her or something! Or kill her! Seriously, poor (Y/N)! You really don’t go easy on anyone, do you?” Kaminari says.
Bakugou ignores them, crossing his arms over his chest and leaning back further into his seat. He didn’t need to go easy on you anyways.
“So? What’d you say to her? Everyone’s wondering!” Sero leans in closer to Bakugou, a big smile on his face.
“None of your business, duct tape boy!” Bakugou retorts, as he had been hoping he could come out here and forget all about you and the way he’s felt about you since your fight.
As he’ll realize, these feelings that have blossomed will not go away just because he wills them to, because every time you’re around he’ll be reminded of the way you make him feel.
