A VERY important thing- looking for a kidney.
As you know, I use my Tumblr to show art and advertise my streams, but I will go IRL here for a bit.
So, for the friends that know me. I have Polycystic kidney disease (or PKD), which, due to the cysts, has been degrading my kidneys. I am currently on a donor list; however, even with lifestyle changes and doing everything. My kidney function, or GFR, has been slowly decreasing, and if this continues, I MAY have to go on dialysis. I am currently working, and if that happens. That will affect my life and time.
So if your blood type is an O type ( + prefer but - can work), please consider if you want to. To possibly donate a kidney. I am registered under St. Louis University Hospital (SSM Health)'s donor list and will renew it this month. If you can help, feel free to reach out to SSM Health
I will provide some websites here as well. kidney.org/livingdonation ssmhealth.com/transplant americantransplantfoundation.org donatelife.net unos.org Phone Number for SSM Health's Transplant department: 314-257-8310 if any mutual is also interested. I can exchange IRL information as well. The hospital can also pay back lost wages, trips, etc. if you want to help. I don't have that information, but it can be asked. you are welcome to repost this as well. you can ask questions here. for mutuals, you can ask via Discord

Kidney Transplant in Bangalore
Blue Bliss Hospital
Being in this profession, having had the opportunity to visit all the reputed hospitals across the city, I had an opportunity to spend time at Blue Bliss Hospital, and I must say it stands out unlike any else when it comes to a kidney transplant in Bangalore. From the infrastructure to the caring people, this one institution has built a reputation of providing advanced nephrology and urology services under the guidance of the most advanced medical experts.
The nephrology team stood immediately apart, giving me the impression of being devoted to its service. At the very center of it is Dr. L.N. Raju, a name known as best Kidney Specialist in Bangalore, with over 20 years of experience. Dr. L.N. Raju’s treatment processes are all-encompassing: he favors clinical excellence plus human compassion, right what a patient and family member need when faced with such an arduous trial as kidney disease and transplantation.
The urology department at Blue Bliss Hospital is state-of-the-art. Working hand in hand with the nephrology division, the urologists oversee a smooth surgical coordination during transplants. Patients I encountered sang praises for the precision and patient-centeredness with which arguably the best urologist in Bangalore works. Their surgical success rates and meticulous care have made Blue Bliss Hospital a household name in the city.
It’s good to know that Blue Bliss Hospital does not serve just adults. For children with urological and kidney-related issues, the hospital provides the services of a dedicated pediatric urologist in Bangalore. While on rounds, I heard some parents express their relief on having found a team of doctors conversant with the peculiar way to treat their younger patients medically and emotionally-not something you’d hear of in many hospitals.
Since the hospital is multidisciplinary in nature, the patient is not seen by just one doctor but stands to benefit from collaborative planning and second opinions. Dr. L.N. Raju also known as one of the top kidney doctor in Bangalore, is in charge of this collaborative approach. His views are of not only many years’ standing but are also synchronized with recent global advances in kidney care.
From what I have seen, Blue Bliss Hospital is not interested in the treatment of conditions; they wish to treat people. Their patient-centric culture, ultra-modern transplant facilities, and access to some of the best specialists make it an ideal spot in Bangalore for anyone who wishes to undergo a kidney transplant in Bangalore. Whether you are an adult seeking kidney care, or a parent looking for specialist consultation for a child, the hospital is there with expert knowledge and compassion alike.

🌿 A New Beginning: Everything You Need to Know About Kidney Transplant in India 🇮🇳
When the kidneys fail, life can become a daily challenge. But thanks to medical advancements, kidney transplant in India has become a life-saving solution for thousands—restoring health, energy, and independence. Whether you’re a local patient or coming from abroad, India offers not just affordable care, but world-class medical expertise that’s changing lives every day.
Let’s dive into how the procedure works, what recovery looks like, and why India has become a top destination for kidney transplants.

💡 What is a Kidney Transplant?
A kidney transplant is a surgical procedure where a healthy kidney from a living or deceased donor is placed into someone whose kidneys no longer work properly. The new kidney is placed in the lower abdomen and connected to the patient’s blood vessels and bladder.
It’s most commonly recommended for patients with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) or chronic kidney failure when dialysis is no longer sustainable or desired.
🔄 Types of Kidney Transplant Procedures
Living Donor Transplant A healthy donor (often a relative or friend) donates one of their kidneys.
Deceased Donor Transplant The kidney comes from someone who has passed away and chose to donate organs.
Both options are safe, with excellent success rates—especially in India.
🔬 Pre-Transplant Evaluation
Before the transplant, both the recipient and donor go through detailed medical assessments, including:
Blood & urine tests
Imaging (CT scan, ultrasound)
Heart & lung function checks
Cancer screenings
Blood type & tissue matching (HLA typing)
Psychological and lifestyle evaluations
The goal is to ensure compatibility and reduce the risk of complications.
🏥 Kidney Transplant Surgery: Step-by-Step
General anesthesia is administered.
An incision is made in the lower abdomen.
The donor kidney is placed and its blood vessels are connected to the recipient's vessels.
The ureter is connected to the bladder.
The incision is closed, and a drain may be placed to manage swelling.
The patient is monitored closely for signs of rejection or infection.
⚠️ Risks and Complications
While kidney transplant is generally safe, like any major surgery, it carries some risks:
Organ rejection
Infection or bleeding
Urinary leaks
Cardiovascular issues
Side effects from immunosuppressants
Blood clots
That’s why post-op care and lifelong follow-ups are essential.
🏡 What to Expect After Kidney Transplant Surgery
Hospital Stay: Typically 3–7 days
Recovery Time: 6–8 weeks to resume work
Medication: Lifelong immunosuppressants to prevent rejection
Lifestyle: Regular checkups, a kidney-friendly diet, and hygiene are a must
Most patients regain normal life activities and feel significantly better within a few weeks!
📈 Kidney Transplant Success Rate in India
India offers excellent outcomes:
Living Donor Transplants: 90–95% success rate
Deceased Donor Transplants: 85–90% success rate
Graft Longevity: 15–25 years on average
Thanks to skilled surgeons, international protocols, and cutting-edge technology, India is now among the top countries for successful kidney transplantations.
💰 Cost of Kidney Treatment in India
One of the most compelling reasons why patients choose India for kidney transplants is the affordability. The cost of kidney treatment in India is substantially lower compared to countries like the United States, the UK, or those in Europe, while still maintaining high medical standards and quality of care. On average, a kidney transplant surgery in India costs between $11,000 to $15,000, which is a fraction of what it would cost in Western nations. This cost-effective healthcare model, combined with world-class facilities and skilled professionals, makes India an ideal destination for both local and international patients seeking reliable and advanced kidney transplant procedures.
🌍 Why Choose India for Kidney Transplant?
World-Class Hospitals with JCI/NABH accreditation
Expert Surgeons trained globally
Minimal Wait Times
Full Support for Medical Tourists
Multilingual Staff
Affordable Pricing with Top-Quality Care
Whether you're from within India or flying in from abroad, India offers compassionate, personalized care that prioritizes both affordability and outcomes.
✨ Final Thoughts
A kidney transplant isn’t just a medical procedure—it’s a new chapter of life. And when you choose Kidney Transplant in India, you’re choosing some of the world’s best healthcare services, offered with heart and hope.
If you're considering the journey, let the Cost of Kidney Treatment in India no longer be a barrier but a bridge to a better life.

The Importance of Organ Donation and Transplantation: A Call to Action
Organ donation and transplantation represent one of the most profound ways to save lives. Every year, thousands of individuals in need of life-saving organ transplants wait for a match. Unfortunately, many of these patients pass away before a suitable organ is available. This blog post explores the significance of Organ Donation and Transplantation, the gaps that currently exist in donor registries, and how we can all contribute to saving lives.
The Urgent Need for Organ Donors
Organ donation has the potential to save lives, but the current number of registered donors falls short of the demand. According to the National Kidney Foundation, 90% of Americans support organ donation, yet only 60% are registered donors. This shows that while there is widespread support for organ donation, many people still have not taken the steps to sign up as donors. By bridging this gap, we could save thousands more lives each year.
One of the most effective ways to increase donor registrations is through education. Many people are unaware of the simple process of registering to donate their organs. Additionally, there are still misconceptions about the donation process itself that need to be addressed. By providing clear and accurate information, we can help potential donors feel confident in their decision to donate.
The Role of Family Conversations in Organ Donation
It’s essential not only to sign up as an organ donor but also to have open conversations with family members about your wishes. Even if you are registered as a donor, your family’s consent is often required for organ donation to take place. According to the UK National Health Service, when a deceased individual was registered as a donor, only 6% of families refused the donation. However, when the person had not registered, 46% of families refused to donate. This shows that family discussions about organ donation are crucial in ensuring that your wishes are respected.
Having these conversations now can help avoid confusion or uncertainty in the event of a tragedy. It also ensures that your loved ones know your wishes and can make decisions on your behalf more easily.
Overcoming Cultural and Religious Barriers
Cultural and religious beliefs can sometimes impact an individual’s decision to become an organ donor. A survey by the Organ Donation and Transplantation Authority in the UK found that 40% of South Asian respondents believed organ donation was against their religious or cultural beliefs. In contrast, only 11% of white respondents felt the same way. This demonstrates the importance of addressing cultural and religious misconceptions through targeted education campaigns.
By offering culturally sensitive information, we can help individuals understand that organ donation is an act of kindness that transcends cultural and religious barriers. It’s important to note that many religious groups support organ donation, viewing it as a way to help others in need.
How You Can Contribute to the Cause
The process of registering as an organ donor is simple and quick. In many cases, you can sign up online or during your visit to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) when renewing your driver’s license. If you’re already registered, consider talking to your family about your decision. This can ensure that your wishes are honored and that your family members understand the importance of organ donation.
Another way to help is by raising awareness in your community. Share your story, encourage others to register, and support initiatives that promote organ donation. The more people who are aware of the importance of organ donation, the more likely we are to see an increase in the number of registered donors.
The Life-Saving Impact of Organ Donation
Organ donation is a life-saving gift that can provide hope for individuals facing end-stage organ failure. The more people who register as organ donors, the greater the chance of saving lives. Every donor has the potential to save up to eight lives, and the decision to donate can transform the lives of recipients and their families.
The need for organ donors is real and urgent. By signing up as an organ donor and having open discussions with your loved ones about your wishes, you can help ensure that more patients receive the life-saving transplants they need.
Conclusion: A Call to Action
Organ donation and transplantation are not just medical procedures—they are acts of compassion and generosity that can save lives. By registering as an organ donor, you’re not just giving an organ; you’re giving someone a chance at life. TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track urges everyone to consider the impact they can have on others by signing up today. It’s a small step that could make a huge difference for someone in need of a transplant.

The Humanitarian Aspect of Organ Donation and Transplantation: A Call to Action for the Greater Good
Organ donation and transplantation stand as one of the greatest achievements in modern medicine. Each year, countless lives are saved thanks to the generosity of organ donors. However, despite the progress in medical technology and surgical techniques, a significant shortage of organs remains, with many patients losing their lives while waiting for a transplant. This disparity highlights the humanitarian need to address the organ donation system, ensuring more lives can be saved.
The Growing Need for Organ Donation
According to the National Kidney Foundation, while 90% of Americans support organ donation, only 60% have officially signed up to become donors. This presents a gap between public opinion and the actions necessary to save lives. Increasing this number is vital to meet the growing demand for organs. Simple, accessible processes for registering as an organ donor are crucial to making this a reality.
The Barriers to Organ Donation
Many individuals hesitate to register as organ donors due to misconceptions or lack of awareness about the process. A survey by Donate Life America revealed that 50% of respondents didn’t know how to become an organ donor, and 33% didn’t realize they could sign up when renewing their driver’s license. These statistics demonstrate a significant need for clear, widespread educational campaigns aimed at informing people on how they can register.
Additionally, the decision-making process is complicated for families, particularly when loved ones have not made their wishes known. The UK National Health Service found that families were more likely to refuse organ donation if their loved ones were not registered as donors. In fact, 46% of families declined donations in these situations, whereas only 6% refused when the deceased was registered. This highlights the importance of discussing organ donation with loved ones and making clear, informed decisions ahead of time.
Cultural and Religious Sensitivities
Cultural and religious beliefs can also play a significant role in whether individuals choose to become organ donors. For example, research from the Organ Donation and Transplantation Authority revealed that 40% of South Asian respondents believed organ donation conflicted with their religious or cultural values, compared to only 11% of white respondents. To address these concerns, culturally sensitive educational programs are crucial to help overcome misconceptions and encourage more diverse populations to participate in organ donation.
The Role of Urgent Care Centers in Organ Donation Awareness
At TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track, we recognize the critical need for awareness and action in organ donation. As part of our commitment to improving health outcomes, we are raising awareness about the importance of organ donation and transplantation. By educating patients and the general public on how to sign up as donors and discussing the significance of organ donation with family members, we can make a substantial difference in the number of lives saved.
Our efforts aim to bridge the gap between awareness and action, particularly by addressing misunderstandings around the organ donation process. Simple steps, such as registering as a donor during routine health visits or when renewing your driver’s license, can save lives.
Take Action Today
We urge everyone to consider registering as an organ donor, a simple yet powerful act that can change the life of someone in need of a transplant. Organ donation is an act of incredible generosity and compassion, and it has the power to offer hope to those waiting for a life-saving transplant. By making this decision and encouraging others to do the same, we can increase the number of available organs and reduce the number of deaths waiting for a donor.
Conclusion
Organ donation and transplantation are integral to saving lives. However, much work remains to ensure that enough organs are available for those who need them. By increasing education, encouraging people to register, and discussing the topic openly with family and communities, we can significantly improve the rates of organ donation. At TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track, we are committed to raising awareness and fostering the humanitarian effort to make a real difference.
