Ok I'm at this point starting to write harry potter but I can't really plagiarize j k Rowling bc I only watched the movies and it's been so damn long that I don't remember shit about the movies. I was like 9 or 10. I'm 22 now and tbh I'm not going to rewatch them. I'm only saying that is bc the only thing I remember from Harry Potter is a magic school and some of the buildings architecture was magical. That is it. I don't even know which of characters is a Hufflepuff.
Anyways uh I'm making a magic school called University of Harresas San Marico Magical Branch or what is called for short UHarre Magic. Harresas is pronounced like hair saw btw.
This is the campus map that I doodled

The architecture is brutalist with a lot of raw concrete and primarily cubical. The only buildings that are uses curves is the Clark Administration Hall and Wodiczko Hall. The Lihoradov Research Hall uses rectilinear shapes but appears more like a pyramid with balconies compared to the squared shaped relatives.
Yagi library is a library that is 20 to 15 stories tall library where most of its height is stilt like columns that go up and down in height at opening and closing times. The building is actually a colossal golem that comes down to rest at night and erects itself during the day. No it doesn't move, it's stays in place.
Here's how the inspiration for the Yagi Library looks like based on the UMass Boston Healy library

Weiss Hall is inspired architecturally by the Geisel library in university of California in San Diego and it's interior layout inspired by one of the buildings in my college called the Wheatley building. Why that building? Because it's a maze in there and btw each floor is a different layout too so good luck hun 馃槝. So I decided to go for the extreme: make it a magical labyrinth where you need to wander around the maze for 2 to 5 min before reaching your destination while keeping your destination in your mind. That includes if you want to leave or go to the restroom there.
Here's how the Geisel library looks like btw

The third magical building is the Watson building. It looks like a normal rectangular 5 story building, but when you go inside, the 5 floors repeat ad infinitum with each floor having an indoor balcony where you can see the floors and the windows repeating. The only place where you can fall off the 5th story and not die. Maybe you'll die from terminal velocity when they catch you in a net if you fell for long enough but who knows!
The rest of the buildings are normal brutalist buildings because they ran out of the budget for magical architecture but all of them are based on some brutalist architecture that I either made up or basing it on on real brutalist buildings I found on Google

I realised today tumblr is a good place to put my strange thoughts that i cannot thrust upon my Partners.
So I started reading this "Dark Romance Novel" about two young men who are theoretically in college (I'm over 200 pages in, and basically no education has taken place) but also members of rival fight club gangs? and the college is on an island? and there's a third fight club they both hate? Main Character #1 is the son of a Mafia boss and her enforcer. Main Character #2 has a Rich (implied nobility) Dad and is apparently a semi-famous artist because his mother is a famous artist (It's Nepotism all the way down).
While I recognize this story is primarily erotica I am still annoyed because the world building is so incomplete. I have so many questions about why the rival fight clubs hate each other? Whats the background here besides just incompatible personalities? Was it a Frat house prank war escalating to gang violence? I find myself skimming the well written sex scenes to get to the world building scenes. it's so sparce that i feel like i am reading a fanfic from an IP i don't know. Like if i could find the orgininal inspiration i would have a better standing in this book (which is part of a series but billed as a standalone)
This is why porn is supposed to have simple plots

I don't get it.
As a writer, a young one albeit, but a storyteller nonetheless, I don't get it.
I don't get the inconsistencies- weak, radioactive walkers can disable and disembowel an entire tiger- a tiger- but all carl gets is a relatively clean, surface bite?
Now listen here- I'm not saying my boy is alive. In fact, I'm quite stuck in the middle of that entire argument. But back to my point.
I don't get it. They've been hinting at some things for what, like, three seasons? And they haven't been explained. Excuse me gimple, but this isn't Sherlock and rick grimes is no Benedict cumberbatch (even though they both struggle with their accents on occasion).
There's no doubt in my mind that carl won't be immune. That's not this story. This isn't the last of us, alright? And a cure- that's off too. The walking dead (in the comics *eye roll*) is about survival, plain and simple. Now, they've decided to abandon the comics in this past episode so it seems, so sure maybe they'll go the extra mile and make him magically be okay if it is a walker bite and blah blah blah. But in terms of the comics, this is just odd. I mean that because, let's look at this, the show is still based on that orginin story. Maybe we can forgive some slips here and there and sure we're fine with the loose adaptations. And yeah maybe the comic storyline buildup lead to them completely abandoning the comics- but still, alas, what the hell? I don't want to believe it was out of greed. I don't want to believe it was because of chandler. I've met him- he seemed exhausted between school and working, and just being a teenager, but he was there and he was happy to be where he was.
It's sloppy. It's like when teachers tell you not to end with the main character waking up from a bad dream. It's lazy, even if we think it works and sounds cool. That's why i just can't believe they've done this.
If he lives because of the whisperer theory, then I strongly believe he got bit at a different time and they're trying to make us believe something. Who knows, maybe Lydia got too friendly. But it would be a semi-decent introduction to the group, but once again- haven't we been seeing them everywhere? Like, the guard off the tower evidence, the W's, whatever. It would exaggerate the whisperers odd way of living. But it would also be a reach.
Some say Gabriel will succeed and get the doctor back. Can we talk about Carl and Gabriels parallel story lines these past few episodes too? They're trying to help the group- trying to make the world better. Gabriel wants peace, and suddenly so does carl? They both even talk and get along somewhat with negan himself. They say the doctor will prevent the fever from killing him- since that's what it does, the fever kills (as Morgan said way back when) and then they come back. It's the disease that needs a dead brain to inhabit, so if his brain isn't dead... but still there'd be something wrong.
Overall, this is bad. A poorly written shock or a more in depth plot twist, I don't like how it was executed and I think most fans agree. You don't have to be invested to agree that something has felt off this season. Everything was forced. How'd rick get to the the other group? Why didn't he have backup? How did all the walkers get in the building and they still lived? Why did Daryl and Tara make such dumb decisions knowing they wanted to help their friends?
Until these questions are answered I'll consider them plot holes. Until carl is killed on camera and buried in the ground, he is alive.
Let me remind all those ignorant people complaining that it's just a story that humanity thrives on story's and language. That's why I love it- it is in our nature to share and get devoted to stories. We learn through stories, we understand through anecdotes. We get invested because we are those types of creatures. So stop complaining- something is very wrong here. I don't know what it is, but I feel it.
