sad / heartbreak starter

Aries was in the middle of storming out when Felix said that. Really, he interrupted what was going to be a very dramatic exit. But then, Felix was even more dramatic than he was so it made sense he had to go and ruin that. Maybe this is a bad idea. That was what Aries had said right before deciding to storm off. He had regretted the words as soon as they rolled off his tongue. He didn’t know what this was. He knew it scared him to let someone in, to appear vulnerable. He knew it was the same for Felix. They weren’t used to it being anything more. 

He wanted Felix. In some ways he had even come to rely on him, he needed him but it was more than that. He liked being the only one allowed to know his most intimate thoughts, to see him stripped bare and know it was the real him, the one away from camera lenses and prying gazes. 

His words seeped the anger right of him. What was he doing? He knew this wasn’t going to be easy. That didn’t mean he could storm out every time they fought. The expression Felix wore wasn’t one anyone saw often. It was open and vulnerable. Aries crossed the distance between them with in long stride. He put his hands on either side of his face, pulling him in for a deep kiss. Felix matched his passion, his hands tangling in Aries’ hair, pulling him closer. He finally pulled away. “I overreacted.” It was easier than saying I’m sorry. He looked at him, his thoughts churning. 

Did you fuck her? He internally cringed. He wanted to wipe clean the memory of seeing Felix with that woman, his body leaning towards her far more intimately than Aries could wrap his head around and his boyfriend flirting back. He hated these moments of insecurity, the thought of messing this up, not being good enough. You’re mine. Except Aries wasn’t sure if he was or if he ever would be. Felix scoffed at the idea of belonging to anyone. It was too soon. He only knew he didn’t want to be anyone else’s. I need a drink. That was about right. 

Aries brushed his thumb over his cheekbones, his lips pulling in a smile. “I have to meet my parents for dinner,” a lie but a believable one. “You have that GQ shoot tomorrow, right? I’ll see you after.” Aries wanted to get drunk and not think about how Felix could break his heart in the blink of an eye. One of his hands intertwined with Felix’s and he squeezed as he took a step back, “We’re good, yeah?”
