Dear Gus & Magnus,

I woke up early to head to the office and record the DA before meeting Bryan at the warehouse, where we loaded up the Video Van to drive to San Antonio for owners meeting. We were deep in conversation and Bryan didn't see the "low fuel" warning pop up until it went to "0 miles to empty." I told him we could probably go 20 miles from that point. He agreed. And then literally two seconds later, we ran out of gas. I think the van is so heavy with all of our gear, that it couldn't get a proper estimate on our miles to empty. Whatever. I grabbed my headphones and started walking the 2.2 miles to the nearest gas station.

Honestly, I thoroughly enjoyed the walk, even though it was hot and I got sunburned. I always like walking, but walking down a highway took me back to my walk across the country. I felt free. And I enjoyed listening to my book -- "All Fours" by Miranda July. I liked seeing the houses out there that I wouldn't have noticed at 80mph. I liked looking at the wildflowers. I liked feeling like I'd earned a Gatorade when I finally made it to the gas station.

I did not necessarily enjoy carrying a full two-gallon gas can for the 2.2-mile walk back, but still, it was worth it. When I made it back to the van, I wasn't ready to get back in a car. But we had to get to a project site to take some drone photography, then get the van to San Antonio to unload Owner's Meeting stuff. Bryan kept apologizing for running out of gas, but I sincerely meant it when I said, "I'm glad it happened. I needed the steps."

Dilton Doily had an 'e' added to the last name somewhere 70s. In reprinting, they drop the last name -- too much trouble redrawing the title.

Interesting Joan no longer is shown with white roots, and then not. No, they probably aren't even thinking on this -- just, a white gleam for the sake of it not transferable to the digest.

Moving off from Joan and Betty, no one else is into it. Come the contingencies. Jughead lugged a five gallon has can into the car he is borrowing from Archie for his date with Ethel?

The half page Sabrina lay in a strange place -- at this point, the mortals she dates are aware that they interact with supernatural beings.

when simon is trying to tell his funny story it's obviously going a bit awkwardly (i maintain that this is because he was kinda put on the spot adhshs and then interrupted! like maybe it would've gotten better if you let him get warmed up smh @ jayne).

but also i love river absolutely grinning through it. other people are sorta of smiling encouragingly/politely, but river's smile is so WIDE and genuine. presumably because she can read her big brother's thoughts about the story and genuinely finds it funny and endearing.

Not sure why I only just noticed this.

I knew they took Charles's clothes and coat, but now I see that they also took both his and Father Mulcahy's helmets.

Also those are some chunky rotisserie chickens they got there. Add some BBQ sauce and I'm all down for that.

“kids spend too much time on their devices” well what else are they supposed to do? there’s no corner shops with pinball machines in them on every corner anymore. there’s no malls or stores in small towns for teens to hang out in without being suspected of shoplifting or kicked out for loitering. sidewalks are too broken for them to ride their bikes and there’s no bike lane in the street to make it safe for them. i just don’t understand where they expect these kids to go when they keep taking places away from them. and yes having no safe public places for them is what leads a lot of teens into addiction if they end up at a place where people aren’t truly looking out for them.
