each time I watch the passenger the more I believe randy called 911 more so to protect ms beard than he was trying to save himself. the language he used on the phone was so vague, it seemed like he didn't want benson to get "in trouble". randy could have easily said that he had been kidnapped and he witnessed the bbb massacre... but he didnt.

then going back to the table to say him and benson need to talk, it would have been him begging for benson to leave ms beard and they hit the road and never look back. I wholeheartedly believe that a tiny part of randy wanted to experience life with benson outside of the town they grew up in.
