SURPRISE! We're back for a WIP Wednesday!

I'm trying mosaic overlay crochet for the first time and it's going pretty well! The stitches themselves are very simple but you definitely need to be able to count (harder than it sounds). I love how the pattern reveals itself over time! Also highly recommend some kind of pattern app that lets you highlight pattern rows. That's been a huge help. I've been using the free version of knitCompanion on Android. I'm also kind of scared about the border, but that's a long way off. I'm going to try a double border that kind of contains all the yarn ends. There's no way I weave all those in.

This is for my brother and his wife who are about to have a baby. There's absolutely no way I will be finishing this by the time she is born, but I will almost certainly finish it before she is a year old (probably?). I'm very excited to see Pooh's little belly, all happy and full of honey!

Pattern from Nerd Princess Designs (Ravelry store) and this pattern is fantastic. The instructions are so helpful and they provide tons of resources to get you started with the technique! Also a huge variety of patterns to choose from.

Mosaic Overlay Crochet Pattern - Fleur de Lis Motif

I took a break from my WIP to properly write down the pattern for my fleur de lis motif, and I wanted to share because I think it'd be cool as fuck if it's useful enough to end up in other people's works.

The pattern is for just the motif, not the border. The border is a modification of Juniper & Oakes's envelope border technique that you can find for free on their website.
