Marisa sighed and clutched the orange Big Gulp slushie in her hand. She didn't want to do this, she knew Harmony would be angry at her and truth be told, Joe hadn't really ever done anything to deserve this, but Marisa couldn't risk her secret getting out, not so close to the end of the year, not when so much was riding on her reputation. Marisa had plans, she would get married and have two babies, a boy and a girl, and live next door to Kitty and plan brunches and go to PTA meetings. Her wayward feelings for other girls were not part of the plan, and people could NOT know about them. With a heavy sigh she closed her locker and set off to find Joe.

Joe had just got out of his Calculus class, and he couldn't be any more ready for the day to be over. It just wasn't his day, and.. he kept getting weird looks from people. Some were nods, some where smirks, and some were.... well, he had no idea. The whole Prom King thing was kind of weird for Joe, actually. He wasn't used to all the attention. He didn't even know people liked him that much to even consider him being King.. ? Well, whatever. It wasn't like he was going to win.... Kurt and Elliott were the top, power couple at McKinley. He had a feeling they had it in the bag. Joe let out a heavy sigh and slammed his locker, dreading English, and maneuvered his crutches under his arms before heading down the hallway.... longing to spend some time with Harmony this afternoon.

Marisa chewed her lip as she walked down the hall, noting people's expressions. Some of the jocks and Cheerios she passed gave her a knowing, haughty look, while less popular kids looked worried and shrank away as if it might be for them. For the first time in... well, ever, Marisa didn't feel good about what she was about to do, she didn't wear the smirk on her face that usually came with slushing someone who needed to be knocked down a few pegs, if anything, she felt queasy. She wished the slushy in her hand was for the horrible Santana, or one of the wannabe freshman, but she had to stay focused.

Joe took his time to get to class, dragging his feet and keeping his head low. They weren't really doing anything important in English right now, so.. he could totally skip. They were just going over that Pride and Prejudice book they've been reading this semester, and Joe felt pretty confident in what it was about, and all the characters, and blahblahblah. Should he go.. ? Yeah.... he should go. Joe ran a hand through his hair, and turned the corner, not really giving a shit if he bumped into people. Fuck. Why did going to class suck so much.. ?

Marisa finally saw Joe shuffling toward her on his ever present crutches, lost in his own world. He mostly kept to himself, I mean sure he was mildly annoying, but Marisa knew what she was about to do was wrong on every level. He didn't deserve this, but Marisa had worked so hard, she couldn't let some idiot cat ruin it. Swallowing hard and bracing herself she called out to him. "Hey, Joe!" Waiting for him to look up before tossing the full slushy directly in his face.

Joe was way too caught up in his head to even realize that someone had shouted his name.... someone said his name, right? Joe looked up to see if maybe he was maybe just hearing things, when.... a cold slushie hit him right in the face. He gasped, and stopped walking, the ice stinging at his eyes and making his whole body shiver. What. The Fuck. Another one? That was, like.. the fourth one this year. Joe wiped the sticky substance out of his face and whipped his hair out of his eyes to see who had thrown it. He let out a low snarl. It was Marisa. She was standing right in front of him, an empty slushie cup in her hand and Joe could feel the anger begin to swell in his chest. "What in the fucking fuck was that for.. ?"

Marisa tried to muster a benevolent look and shrugged at him wordlessly with a smirk. She walked on, her Cheerios skirt swishing as she made her way down the hall. She tossed the empty cup in the trash and kept her pace slow and cool, before ducking into the girls bathroom to compose herself. Looking in the mirror it was the first time in her life she wasn't thrilled with her reflection. Whatever. This was something that had to be done, Harmony would be mad, but she'd get over it, and now that she'd done the cat's dirty work, maybe this would all just go away.

Joe glared at Marisa, too pissed to come up with anything to shout at her, as she sauntered down the hallway and out of sight. "Fuck...." He could feel eyes on him, and looked up to find a few people giving him apologietic looks, some giving him small smirks.... this was not what Joe needed right now. "What the fuck y'all lookin' at.. ?" He shook his hair out a bit, wiping what was left of the slushie off his face and some that had dripped onto his shirt, and crutced his way to the boy's bathroom. He had no idea why Marisa did what she did, but.. whatever the reason, it wasn't fucking fair. And, Joe had a feeling that she knew that and couldn't help, but wonder what Harmony was going to think of her friend slushing her boyfriend a month after his accident and a couple of weeks before Prom.

Thank you so much to our ARMYs who were with us over the past two days. We had prepared for so long I wanted to show it to you that much more quickly, and my desire to do well was so huge that I’m not completely satisfied [with my performance*]. Still, if [the MOTS ON:E concert] was a huge source of comfort and joy to ARMY, I am very satisfied with that alone. Let’s be strong and hang in there until the day we meet face-to-face again, and let’s love each other a lot more 💜I love you💜
