Had a quick day trip to the happiest place in earth. Highlights: Finally rode the new GOTG overlay of TOT (loved it!), noticed a new creepy cherub statue in New Orleans Square (thankfully not a weeping angel), met Kristoff and Olaf from 'Frozen' (my Nordic brothers) and finished off the day with some delicious Mediterranean Skewers at Paradise Garden Grill (delicious food coma worthy nourishment). 6 Secret Spots to Buy Beer at the Disneyland Resort: California Adventure

First things first: Beer is not sold at Disneyland Park (except Club 33, but we're not usually allowed in there). I'm really sorry if I'm the one breaking this sad fact to you. (Here's a link to the hamster on a piano video to cheer you up.) But good news! You just have to walk over to the other park, California Adventure, to find many, many purveyors of cold, frosty brews.

You have obviously already consulted our post, The 5 Best Places To Get Beer At the Disneyland Resort: California Adventure. And now you are ready to advance to level 2: covert missions.

Here are 6 lesser-known places at Disney's California Adventure where I'll bet you didn't know that they sold beer.

6) Taste Pilot's Grill:

Occasionally the fries at Taste Pilot's Grill are excellent, so that's usually what I grab if want a snack with my beer.  And the Karl Strauss Tower 10 IPA on tap is always cold and delicious. Surprise! you can get good beer right near the entrance to the park. Just walk down Buena Vista Street, and then take a right at the fountain -- you can't miss it. If hoppy IPAs aren't your thing, Taste Pilot's Grill also sells Bud and Bud Light.

5) Lucky Fortune Cookery:

Do you like Sapporo? Yes? Then you're gonna love it here. Because except at lunch time and on very busy days at the park, Lucky Fortune Cookery usually doesn't have much of a line. So if you don't feel like waiting for a craft brew from the Karl Strauss Beer Truck (it's only about 50 feet away, but its line is often long), grab a Sapporo.

4) Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill:

Your two beer choices here are Tecate and Dos Equis Amber. So if you are into Mexican beers, then you will be in secret beer paradise. I normally opt for one of the craft beer choices from the nearby Karl Strauss Beer Truck. But if it's before 11:00 AM and you're very thirsty, Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill will be serving ice cold beer already but the Karl Strauss Beer Truck will not be open yet.

3) Paradise Garden Grill:

The food at Paradise Garden Grill is good and not terribly overpriced. It's a hidden gem. My recommendation for food: The Beef Gyro Platter (good stuff). And they serve both Sam Adams and Blue Moon. You have other (some would say "better") beer choices at Bayside Brews and Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta. But since it's tucked away into a corner of the park, Paradise Garden Grill usually has a much shorter line.

2) Award Wieners:

Beer options are limited in the Hollywoodland area of DCA. So the Karl Strauss Red Trolley Ale on tap at is a decent choice in an otherwise beer-barren stretch of the park. A word of warning though, Award Wieners gets busy during lunchtime.

1) Flo's V8 Café:

OMG! I can get a beer at 8 AM? And it's good? Sign me up. Bear Republic's Racer 5 and Red Rocket Ale are both on tap. Get your drink on early. We're not judging. Plus Flo's V8 Café has one of the awesomest outdoor dining patios in the park. Sip on your cold beer while the Radiator Springs Racers zoom by against the beautiful backdrop of Cars Land.
