This is a Parker Duofold Classic Pens CP5 Modern in sterling silver, released in 1999. The Modern has tapered ends evoking the original streamline Parker Duofold, introduced in 1929. The cap and barrel are engraved in a high relief Fishnet pattern, created on a modern engraving machine, intended to reflect contemporary design, and made from two linear engravings: circular rings counterpointed with a wavy diamond pattern. The pen is fitted with the tapered cap top and emblem featured on the 1996 style modern Duofolds. The nib is an 18 karat gold Parker Duofold banner M medium and the trim is gold plated. The cap band has CP5 and the 500 of 1,888 edition number laser engraved. The edition was limited to 500 pieces, so this pen represents the final number of the edition. This is an Eagle flat top lever fill fountain pen in red plastic c. 1926-1930.  This 5 7/16 inch long pen clearly was meant to compete with the big red Parker Duofold, even adding a black cap top and barrel end.  The pen dates to the late 1920s because of the patent clip, a design by Benjamin Hanle patented on March 29, 1927, but submitted the previous year.  There are not patent markings on the pen or clip.  The gold nib is stamped WARRANTED over 14K over 8, indicating the nib size.  All the trim is gold filled.  The clip is stamped EAGLE PENCIL CO. U.S.A.  The cap band is stamped 14K GOLD FILLED.  The lever is stamped EAGLE PENCIL CO. and EPCO on the tab.  Late 1920s newspaper advertisements suggest these pens retailed for $1.50.

This is an Imperial fountain pen made of cream and red candy-striped black celluloid from the late 1940s.  The coin edge cap top with washer clip and overall shape recall the Parker Duofold pens from the 1920s.  It was made by the Imperial Pen and Pencil Company of Nassau, New York, founded in 1945 and operated until bankruptcy in 1956.  It's a 5 inch long lever fill fountain pen with a warranted 14 karat gold nib.  The clip is stamped with a crown next to IMPERIAL.  There are no other markings on the pen.  Instead of a cap band, the cap lip has five grooves cut near the lip.  The trim is lightly gold plated and most of that is worn off.
