Viral Hemagglutination.... Viral hemagglutination is not an antigen-antibody reaction. When agglutination reactions involve the clumping of red blood cells, the reaction is called hemagglutination. These reactions, which involve red blood cell surface antigens and their complementary antibodies, are used routinely in blood typing and in the diagnosis of infectious mononucleosis. Certain viruses, such as those causing mumps, measles, and influenza, have the ability to agglutinate red blood cells without an antigen-antibody reaction; this process is called viral hemagglutination. This type of hemagglutination can be inhibited by antibodies that neutralize the agglutinating virus.. . . . . . . . . #microbiology #microbiologymemes #microbiologist #microbiologylab #microbiologylaboratory #microbiologia #microlove #microbiosh #microbiologyart #biotechnologist #immunology #immunesupport #immunesystem #medicalmicrobiology #pathology #pathologyaddict #doctors #immunologiest #blood #bloodgang #bloodgroup #cellbiology #biologyteacher #biotecnika #biologia #microbiologylife #microbiologyclass #csirnetlifesciences #csir #csirnetpreparation (at Bangalore, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAyu1tkjvP9/?igshid=1f6y6b4weurzz

An agglutination reaction. When antibodies react With epltopes on antigens carried on neighbOring cells. such as these bacteria (or red blood cells). the particulate antigens (cells) agglutill3te. IgM. the most efficient Immunoglobulin for agglutination. is shown here. but IgG also participates in agglutination reactions. Whereas precipitation reactions involve soluble antigens, aggluti-nation reactions involve either particulate antigens (particles such as cells that carry antigenic molecules) or soluble antigens adhering to particles. These antigens can be linked together by antibodies to form visible aggregates, a reaction called agglutination. Agglutination reactions are very sensitive, relatively easy to read and available in great variety . Agglutination tests are classified as either direct or indirect.... . . . . . . . #microbiology #microbiologymemes #microbiologist #microbiologylab #microbiologylaboratory #worldofmicrobes #asm #bio #microbiology_lab #immunology #immunesupport #immunesystem #medicalmicrobiology #pathology #pathologyaddict #microbiology_love #mbbs #microbiologyclass #biologia #biolog #microbiologia #biotech #biotechnologist #biotech #research #cellbiology #biologyteacher #microlove #microbiosh #micron #microbe (at Bangalore, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAwJIGijwwU/?igshid=k51fg49gmcqe

Types of adaptive immunity... Adaptive immunity refers to the protection an animal develops against certain specific microbes or foreign substances. Immunity can be acquired either actively or passively. Immunity is acquired actively when a person is exposed to microorganisms or foreign substances and the immune system responds. Immunity is acquired passively when antibodies are transferred from one person to another. Passive immunity in the recipient lasts only as long as the antibodies are present-in most cases, a few weeks. Both actively acquired immunity and passively acquired immunity can be obtained by natural or artificial means....... . . . . . . . . . #microbiology #microbiologymemes #microbiologist #microbiologylab #microbiologylaboratory #microbiologia #microlove #microbiosh #microbiologyart #biotechnologist #biotech #bacteria #lifescience #biotech #biotechnologist #biotech #immunology #immunesupport #immunesystem #medicalmicrobiology #pathology #pathologyaddict #microbiology_love #mbbs #mbbslife #nursingstudent #nursingschool #hospitality #hospital #infection #immunologie (at Bangalore, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAth0GpDJL4/?igshid=ooww9ri0jxqo

The structure of a nerve cell..... All organisms respond to external stimulation, a property referred to as irritability. Even a single-celled amoeba, if poked with a fine glass needle, responds by withdrawing its pseudopodia, rounding up, and moving off in another direction. Irritability in an amoeba depends on the same basic properties of membranes that lead to the formation and propagation of nerve impulses. Nerve cells (or neurons) are specialized for the collection, conduction, and transmission of information, which is coded in the form of fast-moving electrical impulses. The basic parts of a typical neuron are- The nucleus of the neuron is located within an expanded region called the cell body, which is the metabolic center of the cell and the site where most of its material contents are manufactured. Extending from the cell bodies of most neurons are a number of fine extensions, called dendrites, which receive incoming information from external sources, typically other neurons. Also emerging from the cell body is a single, more prominent extension, the axon, which conducts outgoing impulses away from the cell body and toward the target cell(s). Although some axons may be only a few micrometers in length, others extend for many meters in the body of a large vertebrate, such as a giraffe or whale. Most axons split near their ends into smaller processes, each ending in a terminal knob—a specialized site where impulses are transmitted from neuron to target cell. Many neurons in the brain end in thousands of terminal knobs, allowing these brain cells to communicate with thousands of potential targets. As discussed on page 162, most neurons in the vertebrate body are wrapped in a lipid-rich myelin sheath. . . . . . . . . . #microbiology #microbiologymemes #microbiologist #microbiologylab #medicalmicrobiology #immunologie #immunology #immunesupport #immunesystem #medicalmicrobiology #pathology #pathologyaddict #mbbs #mbbslife #biotech #biotechnologist ##biology #phd #doctors #research #scientists #microbiologyresearch #medical #neet #neet2020 #pharmacology #csir #csirnet #medicalmarijuana (at Electronic City) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAG8TBQjxMQ/?igshid=1bmtyy1vhgqu5
