The actor-politician said he will begin the ritualistic penance from Sunday at Sri Dasavatara Venkateswara Swamy temple at Namburu in Guntur district. “After undertaking the 11-day penance, I will visit Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy,” said Kalyan in a post on ‘X’, and appealed to the deity to grant him the power to do the ritualistic sanitisation to undo the alleged sins committed by the erstwhile YSRCP government. Further, the Janasena founder wondered how Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) employees and board members could be oblivious to these alleged irregularities. TTD is the official custodian of Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirupati. During a recent NDA legislative party meeting, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu claimed that the previous YSRCP government did not even spare Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple and used substandard ingredients and animal fats for making the popular Tirupati laddus, known for their unique taste. Naidu’s allegations sparked a massive public outcry across the country. via Today Bharat Jana Sena Political Affairs Committee (PAC) issued a statement demanding the release of the party worker, accusing the police of preferential treatment. A Jana Sena party (JSP) worker was arrested by the Mangalagiri police on Monday following complaints over a social media post criticising Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. Vasa Srinivasa Rao from Bethampudi, Guntur district was arrested for posting a 9-minute video on YouTube. ldquo;He has abused and disrespected the Chief Minister and the Irrigation Minister in the video. Around 16 people have lodged a complaint,rdquo; Mangalagiri Circle Inspector said. The Janasena Political Affairs Committee (PAC) chairman Nadendla Manohar has condemned the arrest, calling it a case of political vendetta. In a statement issued on Monday, the PAC called the action ldquo;a threat to the democratic right to freedom of speech.rdquo; Manohar also insinuated that the police were showing bias, since they hadnrsquo;t yet responded to complaints filed by Janasena party workers in August against the YSRCP social media wingrsquo;s posts on JSP chief Pawan Kalyan. Demanding that Srinivasa Rao must be released immediately, the statement warned that the PAC would organise protests in front of police stations if such arrests continued. Earlier in August, Andhra Pradesh police arrested a man called Sekhar Chowdhary for making a video that was circulating on social media, for criticising the YSRCP-led state government for failing to handle the floods properly. Police had also arrested three other men for aiding Chowdhury in making the video. The video also reportedly contained derogatory language against CM Jagan and Irrigation Minister Anil Kumar Yadav. Chowdhury was found to be a professional actor who had earlier appeared in the Telugu Desam Partyrsquo;s campaign videos. He was arrested based on a complaint made by Devendra Reddy, digital media director of the Andhra Pradesh government, to DGP Gautam Sawang. The Jana Sena PAC in its statement also suggested Jana Sainiks, or Jana Sena party workers to ldquo;take precautionary measures before making such criticism in future.rdquo;

Senior TDP leader Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy fired on the YCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy and Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan.  Somirreddy said that entire country is learning farming from Andhra Pradesh but opposition leaders are saying that AP should learn farming from Telangana. He said that Jagan and Pawan don’t know about farming.  He said that Andhra Pradesh has spent R.17,361 crores more than Telangana in the farming sector. He said that opposition leaders are criticizing without any solid proof.  He said that BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao should be made to cultivate some crop for six months to know the difficulties faced by farmers.  Somireddy demanded the statistics to show which state has done a better job in the farming sector than AP.  He said both Jagan and Pawan that their only focus is CM post and nothing else.  He opined that they are unnecessarily criticizing Chandrababu Naidu and people know the truth that the TDP government is working for the welfare of the people.

via Today Bharat nbsp; The TDP, once a major party in the region that has since become Telangana, has effectively been reduced to a politically irrelevant entity post the Telangana 2018 elections. ldquo;Congratulating KCR garu for winning the Assembly elections in Telangana,rdquo; said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in a tweet on Tuesday afternoon as it became clear that his nemesis K Chandrasekhar Rao was not just set for a comeback, but a sweeping victory in the Telangana polls. What was missing in Naidursquo;s reaction, however, was the acknowledgement that the experiment called lsquo;Prajakutamirsquo; had failed miserably. Entering into a pre-poll alliance with the Congress in Telangana appears to not have helped the TDP and the party could not even retain the seats they had won in the 2014 state elections. The TDP, once a major party in the region that has since become Telangana, has effectively been reduced to a politically irrelevant entity post the Telangana 2018 elections. Of the 14 assembly constituencies in which it contested, the TDP managed to win just two - Sathupally in Khammam and Aswaraopeta in Bhadradri Kothagudem districts. In Sathupally constituency, Sandra Venkata Veeraiah of the TDP took on Pidamarthi Ravi of the TRS and Namburi Ramalingeswara Rao of the BJP. In Aswaraopeta constituency, Mecha Nageswar Rao of the TDP won against Thati Venkateswarlu of the TRS and Bhukhya Prasad Rao of the BJP. The party, however, even lost seats such as Kukatpally and Serilingampally, long considered to be their strongholds due to a large presence of Andhra settlers who are party loyalists. Shortly after the elections were announced in September, the Telangana unit of the TDP joined hands with their longtime rival in Andhra Pradesh, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) to form the Prajakutami alliance. The Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) and the Communist Party of India (CPI) were also part of this pre-poll alliance. However, the formation of this alliance came at a cost of alienating loyalists of both TDP and Congress in Telangana, observed political analysts. Defections and caste equations In 2014, the TDP had won 15 seats in Telangana but over the course of two years 12 of their MLAs, along with their followers, defected to the TRS. The defection by first rung leaders had severely eroded the partyrsquo;s cadre base in the state. Come 2018 elections, the TDP brought in many new faces to contest for the party in Telangana. In the Serilingampally constituency, after A Gandhi defected to the TRS in 2014, the TDP fielded Bhavya Anand Prasad, a film producer. For their Kukatpally seat, the party banked on Nandamuri Suhasini, granddaughter of NT Rama Rao, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and film actor. Both these candidates lost the elections. Gottimukkala Padmarao, former Kukatpally constituency in-charge for the TRS who had resigned from the party in November, told TNM that people from the Kappu and Reddy caste in Kukatpally actively voted against the TDPs Kamma caste candidate, Suhasini. ldquo;The fact that she is the granddaughter of NTR did not sell due to the caste factor. The TDP made a mistake while allocating candidate seats, they gave 5 seats to the Kamma caste people, this did not go unnoticed by people of other castes. It should be noted that Jr.NTR also did not campaign for the party,rdquo; said Padmarao, ldquo;The TDP was banking on political loyalty towards their party by Andhra settlers.
