Hi Keri, first of all I hope you had a good christmas. This is more of a rant but I wouldn't mind advice but you don't have to. So, every month before my period and throughout my period I suffer from a really low mood and crippling cramps. I don't mean like mood swings that are just part of pms, I mean I feel so low I get serious thoughts of harming myself. Once my period is over I genuinely feel back to my normal self but to feel like that for 2 weeks a month is pretty draining and even puts a strain on my relationships with people. I went to my doctor but he just told me it was normal pms but I'm not sure. Am I overreacting and this is normal for everyone who has a period?

So it’s absolutely not normal. For some reason…the medical field just ignores women’s increasing difficulties with anything to do with their menstrual cycles.

My mother had problems for years, and it took finding the right doctor and bleeding everyday for nearly four months for them to discover a grapefruit sized tumor in her uterus. Once inside, they had to do a total hysterectomy.

I’ve never had any of those things. 3-5 day light periods, very rare cramping - that was my period experience. And my mom was suffering every month. Twice a month towards the end. Every woman in my family has had a total hysterectomy before 40 so I was anticipating it growing up….unless something major happens in the next year, that’s not the case with me.

Advocate for yourself. Read up on PCOS, PDMM, and other related conditions. Demand testing. If your doctors brush you aside, demand they notate that they are refusing testing and find another doctor.

We’ve been gaslit as a fucking sex to believe that suffering is normal. And that is just not the case.

As someone with PDMM, it disgusts me to see Zena use it as an excuse to just be the worse and hurt people. You don't get to take your pain out on others, regardless if you have a condition like PDMM. I know I can get pretty shitty when I'm on or around my time, but I always apologize and try not to snap at others. Zena can control themself, they just choose not to.

Yeah, everyone has a choice where to direct their anger. I have BPD and consciously made the choice not to direct that anger towards people I care about.

It's manageable. Zena's just an asshole.

Imagine she had a bucket hat and face mask (because you can't have both glasses and a face mask in pdmm, there are no bucket hats, and the outfit alone doesn't do a great job at hiding her identity), and this was her previous outfit

Now that she had to change it, she looks a little bit more like this, but with a face mask and glasses. Also, the hat should be lower so that it actually covers something, but girls don't have those kinds of hats in pjsk apparently ._ .
