I just realized, when they were younger, petey was the one who was like "ohhhhh I'm cooked, I'm cooked, I'm so cooked" the more and more closer they became (especially since they were pretending to not care about each other and his fear of commitment and closeness and to give in to these feelings), but now DOGMAN, after the horrible way that confession ended, with petey never talking to him again, and then when he saw him leaving for what he thought was forever (yet still waiting for petey in a subconscious way at their hometown), only to see him again, after all these years. and getting closer and closer, drinking together, hugging, dogman is like "oh fuck I'm cooked, I'm cooked, I'm so cooked" because he doesn't wanna mess things up again, from his perspective, but can't help his feelings literally "leaking out of him"

So I was at a baseball tournament most of the afternoon/evening watching my husband trying to recapture his "lost youth" (his words, not mine). It was crowded and required too much small talk with other people, but he was hot (my words) and it made him happy. In the end, I approve of this venture.

And now I've come back to an inbox full of love and warmth, and that makes me happy. 💖

Memories that Make Me Happy

Before we get into this category, I need to clarify something. I typically say I'm like Sang Woo of Semantic Error, because I see a lot of myself in how he processes and handles emotions and social situations. However, there is one pretty big difference. I am not strict in my personal routines. I'm strict in how I organize things. I'm strict in how I control things. I'm very particular about clothes, touch, etc. But routine? I don't want one.

I LOVE adventures, tinkering, and trying new things. It's learning through experience. The important thing is that I need to be the one to make the decision and be in control of it. I don't like it when other people mess up my plans or make plans for me. Things that limit my ability to be spontaneous and go with my flow are hard. I don't like being locked down. At all. It's why I have a problem making a predicted "watch list" for the week. Many of my adventures are solo ones, but I do love it when I get to have someone with me.

With that in mind, here's some memories that always bring me joy.

1. I took a trip to London with my bestie when we turned 21. We both saved up for over half the year to afford the tickets. We ate peanut butter sandwiches almost the entire week. But for five glorious days it was just me and her going wherever we wanted and doing the things that were important to us. So many good memories in that trip.

2. I participated in the "One Chip Challenge" at a family gathering.

My husband's cousin is military. He came to the family Christmas party with these chips and laid out a challenge to see if anyone was "man enough" to do it with him. As a competitive person, I volunteered. Macho cousin protested that they shouldn't "allow" me to do it. After all, I'm not a man. But no one else volunteered. So we did it. Macho cousin? He was crying like a baby within 30 seconds. Me? My mouth was on fire, but my face doesn't give away a lot in those situations. Everyone was like "is it even hot?". I was like "yeah. It is." In the end, he capitulated first and drank the milk. I got bragging rights, and a stomach ache for days (not that I would admit it to anyone). Should I take joy in his misery and loss? Probably not. But I do.

3. I had a fun time rolling down a giant sand dune with my children on a rare family trip where we were touring lighthouses. Note - it's not protected from that type of activity and is even encouraged there. No ecosystem harm. Anyways, sand in every nook and cranny. Not comfortable, but so much laughter with the kids.

4. I raced my husband to the top of a mountain on our 15th anniversary to see the sunset from the peak. Well, that was no real race. I was dying about halfway up. But we got to the top. The view was gorgeous, and we then had fun trying to get back down the mountain in the dark. Don't worry. There was a well beaten path, and we had flashlights.

5. I got to go to a Stray Kids concert (Maniac Tour) for FREE. My brother had a friend who was given tickets through their workplace. They couldn't go so they gave the tickets to my brother. He called me up and was like "I know you like Kpop. Ever heard of this group? Would you be interested in going?" Heck yeah. I had a blast.

Activities

Sing and make parody songs

Take long walks. I do it to process, but also because I really enjoy it.

Take hot showers or warm baths.

Craft/make stuff. I used to do some 3D printing, but I don't have access to a 3D printer anymore.

K-pop Zumba routines during work breaks. I really enjoy dancing. I took a ballroom dance class and regularly went shag dancing (it's a beach style dance) during college. But life with kids gets busy so this is about as close as I get to dancing these days.

The part two to that fic sits halfway written and unfinished in my drafts… 😅 I abandoned it after an unexpected hiatus due to college and then just never went back to it afterwards… I honestly thought everyone had forgotten about it, but seeing as you’re now the third lovely to ask me about it…it’s making me want to pick it back up again 👀💖

The last time I ever wrote for the part two was in 2022, and it’s unedited/in my old writing style so I’ll share a snippet of it here just for you, but just know if this part two ever happens it’ll be sooooo rewritten 😭🩷 I’m still a bit self conscious about how I used to write, so bare with me on how this snippet I’m sharing with you is written 😭

Five Years Later

You slathered another clump of peanut butter on the slice of bread in your hand. You had searched the cupboards in the kitchen for anything else to make, but considering it had been weeks since you last went grocery shopping—you found nothing.

Once you finished making a hefty pile of sandwiches, you headed over to where Natasha had just finished her weekly meeting with the remaining active Avengers. After the battle at Wakanda, she found you by the tree clutching at the time capsule. She helped you get to the hospital and let you borrow her phone to call anyone you wanted to check up on. There was only one other person, and when Scott didn’t pick up the phone, you knew he was gone too. Not wanting to go back to San Francisco and face reality, Natasha suggested you stay at the Avengers Compound, in New York, with her. You agreed, thinking a fresh new start might help you move on.

It didn’t, but at least a beautiful friendship came out of it.

“Okay, so we really need to go grocery shopping tomorrow because this is the third day in a row we’re eating peanut butter sandwiches for dinner,” you whined, entering the room Natasha was in to see her holding back shaky sobs. “Nat, hey, come here,” you practically threw the sandwiches on the desk in front of her and rushed to her side. “What’s going on?” You asked her, pulling a chair beside her and placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. She tried to stop the tears, but it only made her body tremble more.

Okay so that’s all I can bare to share without cringing at my old writing 😅 I wanted to share the cover art with you too, but I cannot find it anywhere 🥺 I appreciate you letting me know you would be interested in their continuation!! 🫶🏼🫶🏼 Asks like these really motivate me to revisit stories, so if a part two does happen just know you’d be a big reason for it 🩷🩷

The third time omg that's amazing 🥺💗 You probably know it as well as me!

You're totally fine, you're asking in a really respectful way and I don't mind answering 💖 So I have the sequel fully outlined and I have started the actual writing. My problem with this fic is it's HEAVY and complicated. So I'm also rereading Clean Slate and jotting down notes so that I don't forget anything. I don't want to miss one of the breadcrumbs I purposefully left in the 1st book AND I'm also continuing to set up for the third and final. Believe it or not, I already started setting up for the third book in the 1st lol.

So yeah, right now I'm working on Masks because it's lighter content and my little peanut brain hasn't had the bandwidth to work on something as deep and dark as Fractured Reflections is going to be. I'm debating taking a week off work in March, maybe longer idk, I'm fortunate I have the banked time I can use, and if I dooooooo then I hope to get a good start on it. I often only have time to write if I use PTO 😂Life be crazy!

All that is to say, after waaaay too much information lol, best guess is this summer. Maybe June. Certainly knowing that there are people who are invested and excited helps fuel the fires so thank you for that!! 💙🖤

Sins of the Flesh is a tattoo shop AU! It's planned to be a multi-chap fic that focuses on Neil who is a tattoo apprentice at Foxhole Tattoo.

I don't have any snippets since it's still pretty much just an idea, but I have a few lil facts about the universe!

Neil wants to specialize in doing patchwork and cover up tattoos, he leans towards a more traditional art style

Andrew is a piercer in the same studio and specializes in facial piercings

Andrew's favorite candy in this universe is peanut butter cups (which they always have bowl of at the reception desk and he takes a handful in passing) which earns him the greeting of what's up buttercup? from Neil and Andrew absolutely loves it hates it 🥰
