[As he dies, Gothmog curses Ecthelion to be trapped inside his sword, never to reach Mandos or be free, and the curse holds until the Third Age, when Legolas Thranduillion picks up Orcrist from a ragged group of dwarves. Suddenly, Ecthelion’s soul is trapped in Legolas’ body, and they have to learn how to balance different personalities, desires, and loves, made all the more difficult as they start dancing around a potential romance with Glorfindel of Imladris—an elf who Ecthelion once loved, and now is courting Legolas, all without knowing where—or who—Ecthelion is now.]
