Howrah Junction, more popularly known as Howrah Station, designed by the British architect Halsey Ricardo. It was opened to the public on 1 December 1905. This is the current Howrah station building including 15 platform tracks. On 3 March 1969, the first Rajdhani Express left Howrah Junction for New Delhi , is the oldest and largest railway complex in India, serving the twin cities of Howrah and Kolkata. Approximately 617 passenger trains pass through the station each day requiring its 23 platforms (the largest number of platforms in Indian railways) and serving more than two million passengers per day with the highest train handling capacity of any Indian railway station.Howrah Junction is one of five intercity railway serving the city of Kolkata, the others being Sealdah, Santragachi, Shalimar, and Kolkata railway station. Howrah Junction is also one of the busiest stations in India as per passenger footfall. ~ A haunted house in deoghar...the mystery is no one knows when people left this bungalow, it's abt 200-300 yrs ago and specially at night as discussed with the locals ...they hear some old cultural or dance concerts which goes inside this building and stops all of a sudden, and even after no electricity supply to this place you can see a part of this place is lit at night and has many another stories of theft and getting unconscious and stuff ...deoghar is a hub for such mansions and mysterious buildings declared by the paranormal experts as well . ~ Trikut Pahar is one of the most exciting tourist destination in Deoghar, where you can enjoy Trekking, Ropeway, Wildlife Adventures and a safe natural retreat. It is also a popular picnic spot and a place for Pilgrimage. In dense forest on the uphill lies the famous Trikutachal Mahadeva Temple and the hermitage of Sage Dayananda. Trikut Hills contain three peaks and the Highest Peak goes to the height of 2470 ft from the Sea Level and around about 1500 ft from the ground making it an ideal location for trekking. Only two of the three peaks are considered safe for trekking while the third one is inaccessible due to its highly steep slopes. The Ropeway takes the Tourists to the top of main peak only. The Charges are Rs 50 per person and it takes 10 minutes for a single Rope-Car to reach the cliff. An exciting 360 degree view of Deoghar is available from the Top of Trikut Pahar. Pilgrimage The three main peaks of Trikut Hills symbolize of the Trimurti form of Lord Shiva, represented by Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, from where it derives its name. It is said that Ravana used to do penance here. Sage Bam Bam Baba also used to come here for penance. About 200ft above the ground there exists several places of Pilgrimage including Trikutachal Mahadev Temple, Bhagwati Temple, Sage Dayananda Hermitage and Sage Bam Baba Temple. It also has Stream of Fresh and Cool Water. Forest of Trikut Pahar is called Garden of Lord Shiva because of Applewood Forests. ~ Located 10 kms from the main town, the Tapovan Hills are a famous tourist attraction in Deoghar. It is known for the Tapo Nath Mahadev temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is called Tapovan because it was a meditation spot in the olden days for Nagas.  The history goes that Sage Valmiki went there for penance and Sri Sri Balananda Brahmachari attained success through penance there.
