ash genuinely WAS born to be my muse.. i have never enjoyed drawing a character more or felt it come so easily. he has all the features that i love to draw. my friends have been joking with me that he is my Male Muse since i saw the movies for the first time last september. well it hasn't stopped! so glad i found him. ash williams 4ever

just wanted to say i love your artstyle so much and the ash consistency is so good! i think the poses you draw are so dynamic and interesting, the way you illustrate blood looks natural and clean

are the brushes you use custom made?

hello hello ^_^ thank you soooo much for saying this, it means the world to me. not to expose myself here, but one of my biggest art insecurities is face consistency, ESPECIALLY with my OCs, so this compliment comes to me like an unexpected treat. i think drawing bruce campbell and ash SO much since september has really helped me refine that skill. and thanks for what you said about my poses too! i have always struggled with them too, feeling as if they are "too stiff".. especially if i use a reference, which i usually don't, unless it's a redraw or something, so another unexpected compliment treat! THANK you twice.. and of course, blood has always been my favorite thing to draw (see: me in high school drafting a giant painting of a person with a broken nose because i was finally permitted to depict blood in my "fine art" elective class LMFAO) so this makes me smile. really can't say how much it means whenever someone decides to drop me a little message like this.

lastly, the brushes i use! no, they aren't custom made at all, which is a good thing, right? i'm a creature of habit, and ever since i got an ipad in 2020 i've been using the default 6B pencil brush from procreate's "sketch" subfolder to line and color pretty much everything. the way that i achieve the soft gradient is holding my apple pencil on its side and erasing or shading, like i would with a real pencil, and i have always liked that function. the only other custom brushes i have used recently are these ones from my incredibly talented mutual. highly recommend for anyone that likes monoliners or sketchy textures! outside of digital art, copics and liners are my medium of choice, so i def enjoy the marker look.
