Decluttering success! It's always the items in places I briefly look over or items I'm contemplating on keeping that I tend to donate. But as our lives change, so will we. The good part about my decluttering strategy, is that I don't buy more items to fill up my space. Throughout this decluttering process and minimalist lifestyle, I've noticed that I don't need much to be happy or to survive. Life is great,and life is better when there's less stuff to worry about. A reflection on impermanence.

Series of 17 original photo prints on Fujicolor Crystal Archive paper taken with my Ricoh GR around Lewisham and Blackheath, London in 2021.

I wasn’t planning on printing these pictures.

Snow.

Looking at these pictures I realised it’s not what they’re actually about.

They’re not about the snow being there, they’re about transitions, they’re about changes and showing what’s underneath, getting out of this glacial era of the mind we have been in, a forced lethargic restless rest, an invisible layer that covered all of us.

Cement

30x40 cm prints from digital files

A series of large prints celebrating one of humanity's unsung heroes—cement—often condemned as one of the most frowned-upon materials in terms of sustainability. This series doesn't encourage reckless building but invites reflection on how we can preserve, care for, and cherish what has already been built. It challenges us to reshape, re-evaluate, and view things from a different perspective.

All images were created in the studio with compacted cement powder and shapes impressed onto it—a metaphorical approach to show the material's versatility. Ultimately, it’s how we use things, rather than the things themselves, that determines whether they are attractive or repulsive, beneficial or harmful.

The holidays are definitely over, which means the Christmas lights need to come down. I love the holiday season for the fact that I get to put up the white lights. Just a little bit of lighting can change the mood of any room. I usually will turn off overhead lights and use the Christmas lights when I want to have dim lights. Another one bites the dust. My ambulance ornament broke. I received it during my first year as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician). It was a beautiful ornament, but gravity happens. Although, I do have other ornaments from that time that pay homage during my ambulance years, and they're made of fabric so I know those won't ever break. This ornament will be added to my glass jar which I collect old blades for recycling. My family has always used a fake Christmas tree for as long as I could remember and each year I know what to expect in terms of the mess that will me made when putting up the three. I've been asked how I started my Zero Waste Lifestyle and why I started it. Most of the time when I tell people my story, it doesn't start from the same place like other bloggers tend to start from. My journey didn't start with an epiphany nor did I become a strict environmentalist. Ironically my journey started when I wanted to simplify my weekly routine of taking out the garbage. However, my journey did start while living in San Francisco. I think there's an elitist stigma around living a zero waste lifestyle, but I see it as a journey and you do what you can. I like challenges, so I tend to push my zero waste minimalist lifestyle to a point where I live very simple and bare.
