I'm back a bit! The past time was so tough that I could no longer relate to myself. A person can tolerate a lot, it has a lot of elongation, but sometimes something breaks. A moment to choose for yourself and to see yourself as number 1. Today I made another eye look that fits my blog post for tomorrow. And furthermore I have made some photos for some articles. 2016年に限定21部で発表されたハンドメイド写真集『Picture of My Life』がイタリアのceiba editionsから普及版として刊行されました。

1998年に両親を相次いで自死で亡くしたことをきっかけに、自らの生を物語化した写真作品を作り始めた上田順平は、目の前のありのままを写真と文章に記すことを得意とし、家族の記念写真・父の描いたドローイング・絵画などを撮影し自らの作品に組み込むことで物語を制作しています。

第15回三木淳賞を受賞した「手紙」から派生した本作『Picture of My Life』はその総決算として私写真の新たな記念碑を打ち立てています。

「両親の死後、父が作った家族アルバムを見たときに、当時21歳の私を貫いた感覚を作品にして、人に見せたいと思いました。そして『Picture of My Life』の手製本を完成させた時、私は39歳になっていました。着想から完成まで18年かかっています。自身が経験した悲劇的な喪失を自分で扱うには、私には18年の歳月が必要でした」

A decade ago, as a second year student at #bezalelacademyofartsanddesign in 2009, I created this comics based on my own childhood story: when I was 4.5 years old, I went to the children psychiatrist with my mom. She decsideed to give me one more year in kindergarden beacuse I was obsessed with "my little ponies" figures. In my comic pages I recreated the moment of my fate: the moment when I painted all over the walls my favoraie "ponies" and got my revange.
