I didn’t make it into the shop yesterday, but it was a day well spent nonetheless. I took a big step towards becoming the person I want to be, and attended the @black.run.preserve trail maintenance 101 course. I’ll be adopting a section of trail and performing periodic maintenance throughout the year as well as monitoring the environment and reporting changes and disturbances. There will be a bit of a time commitment, but the benefits from time spent in nature will far outweigh any lost shop time. I feel privileged to take on this new responsibility and look forward to some productive time in the woods. In order to further the continuum of woodworker and woods-worker, beginning today, a portion of all TheJawnShop profits will go towards supporting the maintenance of trails in BRP. I’ll also be organizing trail maintenance sessions a few times a year if any of my followers are interested in volunteering their time. No woodworking today. Family was in town for a quick stopover before flying home, so we took them to see our favorite cedar grove in the preserve. The world changes when you walk in here.
