♧ doesn't like wearing suits because to him, they feel uncomfortable. sure, it feels a bit better after he sees how attractive he looks in one, but still. he'd rather not. likes all black suits though.
♧ owns a ton of those fluffy headbands because he doesn't like it when his hair get in his face too much. he usually wears it when doing chores like cooking, cleaning and such.
♧ the biggest gossip girl. he's quite introverted so he doesn’t get to chit chat with other people as much, but if he's with a friend or with his partner,, boy you can bet sunarin has all the tea.
♧ his bedroom walls are littered with movie posters, but mostly band posters. he has one of those posters from pinterest where there's a photo of a band's album's and all songs on said album are written on it for every single one of his favorite band's album and they all fit his room's vibe, thankfully. he probably wouldn't have put them up if they didn't.
♧ he'd never admit to it and he'll probably deny it until the day he dies, but he also has cute photos of his friends from high school. he keeps them in its own folder and he looks at it every time he feels homesick or sad. it never fails to make him feel a tad bit better.
♧ he still thinks those action shots of atsumu getting his ass beat by osamu are funnier though.
♧ makes tiktok thirst traps often, but they're usually just very lazy, like him tossing his hair around or using the BLVCK filter -- his favorite. nevertheless, it's very effective and everyone in the comments section needs to go to horn-knee jail.
♧ has been teased for the way he dresses, for wearing eyeliner, painting his nails and the such but never lets it get to him. he looks good and he knows it. besides, he knows that the guys leading those comments on his instagram gets no bitches unlike him 😎😎
♧ always walks around with earphones or a headset on. the only time he puts them away is when he's walking with someone.
♧ as a teenager, he had a chest full of posters he planned to put up. he wasn't able to do so with some of them because it didn't match the aesthetic he was going for.
♧ has a signature accessory he wears every time he goes out and it's a simple silver chain. it's not big or eye-catching at all, it's something cheap he bought when he was still a teenager, but it held a special place in his heart all the same. even in games he wears it as it's small and light enough to not be an issue.
♧ as a teenager, he used to cut his hair all by himself at times which led to some.. questionable hairstyles and bullying from the miya twins and honestly, if suna can point out a reason as to why he has a hair lady now, it's probably because of that. in his opinion, when the miya twins tell you that you look dumb, you have hit a whole new low.
♧ related to the last headcannon, he has no idea how to feel when he has the same opinion as those two when it comes to unimportant issues because when it came to important ones, they usually share the same opinions as none of them are bigots :)))
♧ likes softly listening to lana del rey and the humbug album while having breakfast.
♧ thinks he would have been a tattoo artist in another life. hell, if volleyball didn't work out, he'd probably pursue it.

Things that I think would happen if Bucky dated an Egyptian!reader
Based on this request from @aesthetic0cherryblossom
Tumblr media
disclaimer: credits to original creator/poster of image/gif. found on google/Pinterest
1. Bucky has always been fascinated with Ancient Egypt
American Egyptomania is what they call the time of renewed interest in the culture of ancient Egypt that happened in America in the late 19th century and early 20th. Like I mentioned in my first Arab reader headcanon list, with Bucky being from Brooklyn it’s likely that he experienced more diversity than most. Also with how social he was, I genuinely believe that he would’ve experienced more than Steve. Anyways his exposure to ancient Egypt would have come from the many museums in New York that were a part of Egyptomania however his knowledge about “modern” Egypt would have stemmed from his interest in the first world war. Egypt had a significant but forgotten role in the war and with his dad dying during basic training, I can see him having a special interest in it and thus learning more about Egypt.
Now, fast forward to 2023 a form of self-care for Bucky would be going to museums and essentially re-learning everything that he spent years reading about as a kid. And we know that he was a reader because he read the Hobbit when it first came out in 1937. It didn’t become mainstream until almost 3 decades later in the 60s so that would lead me to believe that he read literally everything that he could.
Back on track now, these museum trips are a way for him to catch up, as well as feel connected to who he was before.
Since he is tied to D.C. thanks to his government mandated therapy,  he goes to the Smithsonian more than any other ones. He loves the Eternal Life in Ancient Egypt exhibit more than anything, and he visits it all of the time.
Once again, this is where you come in. You two didn’t meet at the museum but instead literally ran into each other as he was leaving therapy. He was in a terrible mood and ran straight into you, spilling your coffee all over your white shirt. He felt awful and apologized profusely but you weren’t concerned.
“I don’t even like this shirt anyways,” you told him with a smile that made him swoon.
After that, he’d see you every week after his appointment and he slowly started to look forward to Dr. Raynor. She made a comment about it which he quickly shut her down saying that “maybe our sessions are helping or maybe I just want to get out of here.” She reminded him that she could extend his court mandated appointments if she thought it necessary.
Finally he worked up the courage to ask you out and offered to buy you a new shirt. You accepted and told him that lunch would be a better replacement. He let you pick the place and you took him to Fava Pot, the only good Egyptian restaurant aside from your kitchen.
The two of you talked for hours about everything and nothing at all. Slowly the topic of you being Egyptian came out and it took everything in him to not lose his shit. Before he could stop himself, he told you all about how he’d loved Ancient Egypt growing up and how he’d go to the Smithsonian almost weekly to look at the exhibits. At first you did say a word but then the giggles erupted for you, causing everyone to look at your table. You grabbed his arm and drug him out of the restaurant without a word about why and the poor guy was so confused.
You finally explained that you would give him a real tour and alas your weekly museum dates were born.
2. Your culture is hard for him to grasp at first.
Important note for this hc": there is a very old and heated debate about whether or not Egyptians are Arab. While I’m Arab, I’m not Egyptian and not at all qualified to even touch that debate. With that being said, the cultural differences were specifically requested so my hope is that this section comes across as neutral in regards to that debate. If it doesn’t or i get something wrong, please correct me. Everyone deserves accurate representation.
As I said in my first Arab!reader list, there is a lot of misinformation about the Middle East and North Africa which makes research very difficult. The above debate is a prime example of this. Bucky tries really hard to do as much research as he can on his own so that he can surprise (and impress) you but ultimately has to ask you. He takes it as a personal hit that he can’t do everything in his power to understand you better because you’ve done that for him. However you remind him that he’s an Avenger and literally has biographies written about him.
“Rouhi, no one is expecting you to be a walking encyclopedia. Let me help,” you said in a gentle tone one night when he was getting frustrated with whatever show he was watching.
“That defeats the purpose of me learning about your culture. I should be able to do it on my own,” he threw back from the couch where he’s laying with the cat that he definitely didn’t want on his chest.
“You can do a lot of other things on your own. You’re a big boy, you’re 107! This, however, is difficult for anyone and I’m more than willing to help.”
He glared at you for calling him that and for pointing at his age but his gaze softened when you dropped onto the ground next to him with a plate of food. After that, in addition to your Arabic lessons, the two of you play trivia so he can learn more. It’s really you quizzing him on flashcards and every one he gets right, he gets a kiss. The arrangement works out in both of your favors really.
3. The more serious your relationship gets, the more Egyptian traditions/norms he incorporates into your life.
This starts out with little things like taking his shoes off when he walks in. With time he’ll start adding more things like visiting your family as often as you can as a couple and bringing some sort of gift, usually sweets or the chocolates that your dad loves. During dinner, he’ll make sure to get a second plate and leave a small amount leftover. He’ll change how he compliments you by making an effort to compliment specific things like how your hair looks that day or how he likes when you wear black. He’ll also start showing gratitude when you compliment him by responding to a compliment on the same thing. For example, if you tell him how good he looks that day, he’ll tell you that you look radiant. If you’re Muslim, he’ll add “Allah Yen’im ‘alik” which is how you wish someone Allah’s blessings (from my understanding).
Eventually he acts more Egyptian than you when you’re with your family and your mom will not let you forget it. She’s always telling you that Bucky is such a good man and how he’d be the perfect son in law. Those conversations are usually followed by her asking when you’re going to get married and looking him dead in the eyes to make her point clear; hurry up and propose. Ever the charmer, he’s able to rely on that Brooklyn sweetheart that lives inside of him and move the conversation to something else. Of course, your mom knows what he’s doing but she’ll allow it because she can feel the proposal in her bones (and it never hurts to have that brilliant smile directed at you.)

RECENT NEWS, RESOURCES & STUDIES, August 19, 2020
Tumblr media
Welcome to my latest summary of recent ecommerce news, resources & studies including search, analytics, content marketing, social media & Etsy! This covers articles, podcasts, videos and infographics I came across since the late July report, although some may be older than that.
Please note I am taking the next week off, starting tomorrow (Aug. 19), so I might be a little slow in replying to any comments.
TOP NEWS & ARTICLES
USPS has become the focus of investigations due to reported mail slowdowns. Some small businesses who rely on USPS to deliver are suffering. “The longer the policy has been in effect, the worse the backlog gets.” As of today (August 18), the postmaster says they will rollback the changes until after the election in November. This is a rapidly-moving story in part due to the push for voting by mail, and should concern anyone who ships to US customers using regular mail (as opposed to couriers). Meanwhile, they plan to temporarily raise commercial rates during the holiday shopping season, but retail rates will not change.
Ecommerce sales are still up year over year. "Before Covid-19 hit the US in March, e-commerce made up roughly 12% of retail sales in the country. That figure grew as states issued shelter-in-place orders that shut stores and kept shoppers at home, creating tailwinds for a company like Amazon. But even as states have begun to reopen, e-commerce has remained elevated, according to Bank of America data."..."The Economist used Google search traffic for hints of how lifestyles are changing and found users are still searching terms related to cooking, crafts, and exercise above pre-pandemic rates. There has been a noticeable spike in interest around such products as gardening supplies, baking flour, and Crocs." The UK is still seeing a good increase despite the ease in reduction in lockdown restrictions. The growth is slowing a bit in the US, though.
Half of US small businesses fail in the first year (and other stats on small business).
It’s been second quarter report season, covering company performance from April to June 2020.  Here are results for major companies involved in ecommerce in some way (comparisons are year-over-year):
Amazon US: sales up 40%
eBay: sales up 26%
Etsy: sales up $146% [click the link to read my summary]
Facebook: revenue up 11%
Google: revenue down 2%
PayPal: revenue up 22%
Pinterest: revenue up 4%; active users up 39%
Shopify: revenue up 97%
Walmart [2nd quarter ran May to July]: ecommerce sales up 97%, same-store sales up 9.3%
ETSY NEWS
Admin are now posting a monthly update thread, in case you fear you have missed anything. This is how they chose to announce that non-seller accounts can no longer post in the forum. Since those account owners can still read the forum, that doesn’t mean you can call out your customers now.
Sadly, there wasn’t much media coverage of Etsy’s nearly-annual billing screw up, but this one did get some attention.
Etsy continues to get good media coverage for masks, including masks for your dolls. They also apparently got a decent slice of Google ranking for various pandemic-related searches in May [scroll down to the “Protection and Prevention” section].
However, Etsy is getting some bad press (along with Amazon), for allowing QAnon merchandise, because “the FBI has warned of the movement's potential to incite domestic terrorism.” Etsy replied to a request for comment saying that “that product listings associated with certain movements are allowed as long as they don't violate the company's seller or prohibited items policies, which ban items that promote hate or that could incite violence. The company said it is continually reviewing items on the site and could remove items in the future if they're found to violate Etsy's policies.”
More search trends on Etsy, this time kids’ items. I love how they think tie-dye was a ‘90s thing and not a ‘60-70s thing LOL. “a 318% increase in searches for kids tie-dye items...71% increase in searches for dinosaur wall art or decor*, and a 37% increase in searches for school of fish items….we’ve seen kid-friendly crafts spike in popularity, with searches for DIY kits for kids up 336%.”
Also, the holiday trends guide is out. “With the holidays approaching, and most shopping happening online, more shoppers will be looking for your help to make the season feel special.” The report is lengthy, covering Halloween to New Year’s, and most listing categories, while pointing out the possible pandemic changes to the usual trends. There is also an accompanying podcast with transcript.
Speaking of the holiday season, here are Etsy’s tips for shops. Note that it is a bit late, as businesses need to have their holiday items posted no later than July if they want to be eligible for most fall media coverage. Almost every point refers to an Etsy tool or feature, some of them costing you money, so use this as a very broad guideline & be careful to read between the lines.
They are still rolling out Etsy Payments to more countries: Morocco & Israel are the most recent. Note that Etsy Payments is not yet compulsory in these new countries.
Etsy Ads once again has graphs. Do you find them useful? (I haven’t run ads at all this year, so I can’t check.)
Sendle is the latest shipping company to have a label integration with Etsy shops.
Etsy asked US sellers to lobby their reps for more support for small business and other initiatives in the pandemic aid package.
SEO: GOOGLE & OTHER SEARCH ENGINES
Google has stated that content on tabs is indexed and contributes to ranking as if it were on the page instead, but yet another test demonstrates that tabs may limit you.
Due to the pandemic, Google has delayed finalizing mobile-first indexing until March 2021. (They originally announced it would be finished this September.) That means you have more time to update your website’s mobile version, ideally with responsive design.
Site speed does matter to SEO, and Google is now asking some searchers how fast certain sites loaded for them.
User comments on your products, blog posts and website can help you improve your SEO. The article suggests ways of getting that feedback, and ways to use it. [I’ve even had buyers give me new keywords to describe my items, in their messages and reviews.]
Getting links back to your site is important to SEO, but don’t annoy people while doing it. [sort of humour & sort of a rant, but does give some useful background on why backlinks matter.] Internal links also matter.
There are some special tricks for food/recipe SEO, including structured data and even a WordPress plugin.
Another WordPress plugin: submit any new or updated pages to Bing to be automatically re/indexed.
Do your keyword research before setting up your website’s sections and sub-sections, as they should serve the buyer experience, not your perception of it. Same with choosing which pages link to each other.
SEOs are still trying to work out what happened with recent Google algorithm changes. Search Engine Journal claims that the May update was at least in part about demoting sites that had out-of-date or inaccurate information, so they suggest getting rid of the bad content on your site, or at least updating it. “Content pruning” has some advocates, but I wouldn’t worry about investing tons of time in this unless you have tons of time to spend. Just get rid of the blog posts that were wildly wrong, and the out-of-date filler. If you have a lot of sold out products, redirect those to relevant active pages.
Meanwhile, a “glitch” on August 10 led people to think there was a massive Google algorithm update happening, but it all got fixed in less than a day.
If you are behind on Google search news, here is a 7 minute video [with time stamped subtopics & resources links listed below], direct from Google.
(CONTENT) MARKETING & SOCIAL MEDIA (includes blogging & emails)
It’s tough to get started in social media if you don’t know the terminology, so here’s a list of the basic definitions you can consult if you get lost when reading.
Don’t know how to blog? There are formulas you can use; here are eight options, nicely laid out, with downloadable templates. Don’t forget to figure out what your audience wants to read. And make sure you avoid these common blogging mistakes.
If you have an email list but do not know how to take advantage of all the bells & whistles the companies (MailChimp, Constant Contact etc.) offer you, here are 4 ways to segment your lists. You can then send different offers or newsletters to different segments.
You can optimize your social posts for people with visual impairments; excellent tips here.
By the time you read this, the TikTok mess will likely have changed again, but here is an article on Trump’s order to prohibit US companies from doing business with TikTok owner ByteDance if the platform is not sold by September 15.
Instagram has released its TikTok challenger, Reels, in more countries.
Instagram is now offering a fundraising option, although it is a slow launch with some beta testing in the US, UK & Ireland to start.
Here are step-by-step instructions on setting up your “Shop on Instagram.”
Pinterest says that searches around self-care & wellness have spiked during the pandemic lockdowns. “Pinterest has recently seen the highest searches ever around mental wellness ideas including meditation (+44%), gratitude (+60%) and positivity (+42%) that jumped from February to May….Pinterest says that searches for ‘starting a new business’ are up 35% on average, as are searches for ‘future life goals’ (2x), ‘life bucket list’ (+65%), ‘family goals future’ (+30%) and ‘future house goals’ (+78%).” There were also some searches clearly about spending more time at home: “Productive morning routine (up 6x), Exercise routine at home (up 12x), Self care night routine (up 7x)”
LinkedIn has a new algorithm; here’s how to make it work for you. [Many of these tips also apply to social media in general.]
Spotify is now doing “video podcasts”. Apparently a lot of their podcasters already did a video version of the Spotify podcasts, but had to publish it elsewhere up until now.
Twitter now admits it is considering offering subscriptions to shore up its revenue numbers. “Shares of Twitter rose 4% in early trading Thursday following the earnings results....Twitter's growth plans are under close scrutiny as many advertisers pull back due to the pandemic. On Thursday, Twitter reported second-quarter ad revenues of $562 million, a 23% decrease compared to the same quarter a year ago. The company has also been hit by advertisers participating in an ad boycott of social media, linked to the nationwide racial justice protests.” Also, the recent hack is not helping them.
That said, it is still possible to market using Twitter, and here are some of the basics.
YouTube is no longer sending email updates when a channel you follow posts new content.
ONLINE ADVERTISING (SEARCH ENGINES, SOCIAL MEDIA, & OTHERS)
Ad spend has increased again as lockdowns end, in some cases beating last year by a decent margin.
The Buy on Google program is ending its commission fees. Participants will also be able to integrate their PayPal and/or Shopify payment options. As often is the case, they are starting with the US first, but plan on rolling it out to more countries in the future. There are more details here, and a review here (with some of the drawbacks).
Google Product Ads are now showing the item’s “material” on the listing card (before you click). If you are doing your own feed for your website, you may have the ability to add the attributes needed for the details to show up.
If you find Google Ads too expensive, consider buying search ads on Bing.
eBay is experimenting with showing ads mixed in with unpaid listings; placement would depend on the same algorithm.
Here’s a new guide to Facebook Ads [videos & text]
STATS, DATA, OTHER TRACKING
Bing has launched a new version of Webmaster Tools.
There are ways to reduce the amount of traffic that Google Analytics designates as “direct traffic”; here are 15 of them.
Currently in closed beta testing, the Google Search Console now has an “Insights” function, just like Google Analytics. I’ve found the GA one useful for telling me things I don’t always look at, so crossing my fingers that they release this to everyone soon.
 ECOMMERCE NEWS, IDEAS, TRENDS
Shopify helped many businesses stay open during pandemic lockdowns, giving it the boost to start competing with the likes of Amazon in ecommerce. “Shopify merchants that had previously or entirely relied on brick-and-mortar sales would later report they were able revive nearly 95% of that revenue online.”
eBay started rolling out its Managed Payments system to more sellers worldwide on July 20th. Things seem to be going slowly, with some confusion.
But eBay is also having a 25th anniversary party for sellers on September 25th; don’t forget to register.
Walmart is still delaying its new subscription model to challenge Amazon Prime, Walmart+.
Amazon in the UK has launched a “Face mask store” part of the website. I haven’t seen this on other versions of Amazon. They’ve also increased some fees for some UK sellers, based on the new UK digital tax. And they are launching a site & presence in Sweden.
The Competition Bureau of Canada has launched an investigation of Amazon’s treatment of third-party sellers. “The bureau is asking any person or business that has conducted sales via Amazon.ca to contact them if they have any insights into the issues it is investigating.“
Amazon Prime Day has been postponed to later dates this year, starting with India on August 6-7. The remaining countries will apparently be announced soon.
If you use WooCommerce, here are a bunch of free plugins, with brief descriptions.
BUSINESS & CONSUMER STUDIES, STATS & REPORTS; SOCIOLOGY & PSYCHOLOGY, CUSTOMER SERVICE
Buyers do not all make purchase decisions the same way; Google uses its massive collection of data and some new studies to provide some examples. “Worldwide, search interest for “best” has far outpaced search interest for “cheap.”
It’s cheaper to keep repeat buyers than it is to find new ones; here are 16 ways to do that. One of my favourites is ““proactively providing information on how to avoid problems or get more out of your product” creates a 32% average lift to repurchase or recommend.”
It seems that researchers can never produce enough marketing guides on Gen Z and millennials.
MISCELLANEOUS (including humour)
I see a lot of new sellers, and some older sellers, confused about the idea of a business plan. HubSpot not only explains them, but also provides a downloadable template.
If you are thinking of changing careers, or just want to add skills to better run your current business, Google has many different courses, some of which they offer for free.
There are ways you can increase your productivity without (usually) working more hours. “A study published by John Pencavel of Standford University found that how much employees get done takes a sharp drop after 50 hours of work in a week, and even more drastically after 55 hours. The study found that employees working 70 hours per week actually produce nothing more in those extra 15 hours...taking a power nap in the middle of the day can help you process new information and even learn new skills.”

Let us Read a Story❤️
Lost in a forest🌳
Five wise men got lost in the forest.
The first one said:
I will go left. My intuition tells me that.
The second one said:
I will go the right because the right comes from the word rightness.
The third one said:
I will go back, we came from there. It means I will go out from the forest.
The fourth one said:
I will go straight, we should move forward. The forest will end and something new will open.
The fifth said:
You are all wrong. There is a better solution. Wait for me. He found the tallest tree and climbed into it. While he was climbing, everyone else scattered towards their own sides. From above he saw, where they should go to leave the forest faster. Now he could even see how in what order the other wise men will reach the end of the forest. He climbed higher and saw the shortest way. He understood the problem and found the best solution!
Do you think that he was the real wise man? It's not a cliche(read as cleeshe) story where only one wins! The others were wise too! *Everyone is Special in their own way* So, each one was wise in their own way. Let us see what happened to them!
The one who went to the left, found himself in a thicket. He had to starve and fight with wild animals.
But, he learnt how to survive in the forest; he became a part of the forest and could teach others the same.
The one, who went to the right, met thieves. They took everything from him and made him steal with them.
But, after some time, he had woken up something in those thieves that they have forgotten humanity and compassion. The remorse was so strong in them, that after his death they also became like the wise men.
The one, who went back, made a pathway through the forest, which soon became a road for those who wanted to walk in the forest without getting lost.
The one, who went straight, became a pioneer. He visited the places where no one else was and opened wonderful new possibilities for people, amazing healing plants and magnificent animals.
The one who climbed into the tree, became a specialist of finding short ways. People turned to him when they wanted to find the fastest way to deal with their problems, even if it didn't lead to any development. This is how the wise men reached their destiny.
So, I am asking to the one who is reading this.
(I know majority of the people will just scroll down. If you are reading this, I am very thankful💖 So, will you please drop a ❤️ in the comment section to let me know that you are reading this? It will inspire me alot! Just curious 😉)
What can you understand by this? Yes, each and everyone of us are unique. Then, let me ask you. Why are you sad over little things happening in your lives? Why are you comparing yourselves with others? Why aren't you happy in your lives? Just ask yourself.
Now, see in this story. All those men found their destiny in different ways. Because they were all different from each others! We too are different. Some people will find their destiny soon. Some will take some time. Some will not find at all. Your destiny will reach you. Everything will reach you at a perfect time! You have to Struggle for it. Sometimes you maybe lucky! But your character plays a major role in determining your destiny! Just imagine that, what would happen if these wise men were just crying over their fate and not doing anything and just waiting for their destiny? What's the point in it? They did what they could do in that time. That made them find their destiny even after struggling. So, You. Your character and attitude determines your destiny. You will and must face a lot of troubles in your life. So, at that time, you should use your senses to overcome it. Don't copy from others. Because all people are facing different kinds of problems and have different attitudes and destinies. For example, you are suffering from fever. Another person is suffering from diabetes. Both of you are suffering from diseases. Each of you have diseases but they are different in their own way! So, they require different treatments. Imagine that what will happen if you are taking the treatment of that person? That doesn't make sense.😇
Similarly, we all face problems. They are of different kinds and have different solutions!
So, whenever you are facing a problem, deal it in your own way. Don't try to copy others. Because you are special! You can take inspiration from them, but never ever copy them. You may have to struggle alot and you may have to face alot of challenges and criticises. But, you should never ever give up! You must stay focused! Focus on the process which will lead you to your goal! Enjoy the process! Overcome the struggles💔 Forget the pains and understand the lesson taught by it💖
Never Ever Give Up❤️Be the Real You❤️You are Amazing and Special❤️There is no one like you❤️You are Unique❤️ Believe in Yourself❤️ Be You❤️

A December Deception [Part 1]
Word Count: 1597
Series Warnings: A few curse words, pining, fake dating, fake living together, group conspiracy, teasing, probably second hand embarrassment?, and last but not least: Christmas (I feel like this is a legit warning).
Summary: Prompt found on Pinterest: I told my sister I have a boyfriend so she’d stop trying to set me up with people but now she’s coming to visit I’m in too deep I need a boyfriend ASAP.
A/N: Aaaaahhhhhh I’m freaking out. I’ve never EVER in my life posted the start to a series without having at LEAST half of it written! Please be patient with me updating this. I’m still working 3 jobs. I’m gonna shoot for updates on Fridays, okay? Sound good?  This series is also a cry for help. I spent forever in the “Steve Rogers fluff” tag trying to find some cute fluffy fics and everything that was coming up was either angst, or Steve cheating on the reader, or reader cheating on Steve WITH BUCKY which would never happen okay, or reader leaving Steve for someone else…and I want to help rectify the situation. So here, take this Stevie fluff fest. Special shout out to @sarahwroteathing. She’s always so supportive and amazing and I’m so lucky that she’s my best friend. I don’t know what I’d do without her
Please comment and let me know what you think! Being as busy as I am, I’m not going to invest time in this fic if nobody likes it, ya feel?

“Noooooo! No, no, no, no, no!” You cry out, tossing your phone over Wanda’s legs, and falling face first into the couch.
Wanda chuckles and tries to smooth your hair away from your face. “What’s wrong, honey?”
You push the top of your head into her thigh, groaning. “My sister’s coming over for Christmas.”
“Friendmas,” Maria corrects.
“I thought she was going to your parents’ for Christmas?” Pepper asks, coming back to the living room with a new bottle of wine.
“She was; but, apparently, they’ve decided to go on an Alaskan cruise.”
Natasha took the bottle from Pepper and filled her glass before refilling yours and Wanda’s, too. “So, what’s the problem? Why aren’t you stoked to have her over?
You sit up, hands flying to your face. Pushing the heels of your hands into your temples, you shut your eyes tightly against the judgmental looks you’re bound to receive. “She, uh. She tries to set me up with everyone.”
“Oh, no!” Wanda laughs, “What an awful sister! Is she bringing some hunky fireman to dinner?”
“Nooo…that’s.” You sigh and drag your fingers down your face dramatically. “Uh, okay here’s the problem. She thinks I have a boyfriend.”
“A what, now?” Natasha asks, failing to hide a smirk.
Your face falls into a serious pout. “You heard me, smartass. A boyfriend.”
“Oh.” the room says collectively.
“A boyfriend that lives with me.”
“Oh.” Interest colors their voices.
You’re ready for the couch to consume you as you inform them, “A boyfriend that I’m, apparently, very much in love with.”
“So,” Pepper clears her throat. “Where is this dashing man that’s swept our girl off her feet?”
“Dunno, but he needs to show up before tomorrow.”
There’s a sharp rap on your door that makes you jump and nearly spill your wine. You struggle to get up; it feels like the couch is aiding in trying to swallow you whole.
Nat looks around the group. “Who the hell is knocking? We’re all here. It’s girls’ night, right?”
Everyone else looks around in comedic confusion. You scoff at your friends and smile affectionately as you finally free yourself from your couch. You make your way around the sectional before unlocking your door. You pull the handle up a bit before yanking it open.
“Steve!”
“Hey, neighbor!” he greets warmly.
There’s a dramatic gasp behind you. “Oh, my god! Steve can be your boyfriend!”
Awkward silence filled the room. Steve’s eyes went wide as you felt an embarrassed blush warm your face.
“Steve can be her what?” Steve asks, voice suddenly high and squeaky.
“Yeah! This is perfect!”
Natasha vaults over the couch, grabs her friend, and pulls him in from the hallway before closing your front door with her hip. His eyes are still wide, brows pinched in confusion, mouth flapping in unformed questions, looking to you for answers. You press your lips into a line, reaching out for his arm as you address the room, “We’re not dragging Steve into this, you guys.”
“But he’s perfect!” Wanda objects.
“You already know each other.” Pepper says levelled, like he should have been the only clear choice. “You’re already comfortable with each other.”
“He’s–he’s my best friend! Of course we’re comfortable–”
Steve finally swallows the lump in his throat and asks, “Why do you need a boyfriend?”
“Her sister’s coming for Christmas.” Maria says.
“Can I tell him what’s happening? Please?” Exasperated, you grab Steve’s arm and pull him to your room in a desperate attempt at privacy. You knew the girls were going to be listening outside your door. “I’m sorry about this,” you start, leaning against your door while Steve settles in your chair at your desk. “You don’t have to get into this at all.”
“How is your sister connected? Why do you need a boyfriend if she’s coming over?” Steve sounds…nervous? You can’t process his reaction, you’re busy trying to keep your anxiety and embarrassment under control.
Your head falls back against the door with a dull thud. “After Scott and I broke up, she tried to set me up with everyone in her contacts list.” You explain, deliberately not looking at Steve. “It was easier to lie to her and tell her I met someone than to go on another awful date.”
He looks up at you, eyes bright. “So, when you went on all those dates, that was your sister setting you up?”
You nodded, finally having enough courage to look at Steve. He’s smiling, almost to himself. “But, listen. You don’t have to worry about it. I’ll just tell my sister that my boyfriend is on a work trip or something–”
“I’ll do it,” he says softly but surely, “I’ll be your boyfriend.”
“You will?” The whole world has been lifted off your shoulders.
Steve stands, smiling, ready to hug you and calm your nerves. What Steve wasn’t ready for, was your choked squeal. He also wasn’t anticipating you to run and jump into his arms in your elation. He catches you easily, laughing, albeit somewhat nervously, and holds you tightly to his chest.
“You’re the best friend I’ve ever had, Steven Grant,” you say, releasing him from your attack hug, moving your hands to cup his cheeks. “Thank you, thank you, thank you! I owe you big time. Whatever you need. I got you.”
Steve totters back to his apartment, full of conflicting thoughts like I’m the luckiest guy in the world and what the fuck have I gotten myself into?
He opens the door, finding Bucky in the same place he left him: less than a foot away from the television, screaming into his headset at the lack of respect his teammates were showing. “Fuck you, Wilson! You pull that shit again, I’m not helping you respawn!”
“Losing again, Buck?”
“It’s Wilson’s fault!” Amidst the gunshots, Steve vaguely heard Sam’s reply over Bucky’s headset. “No, screw you, dude, you know this loss is on you!”
Steve ignores his friend and heads to the kitchen in search of a snack, or something. He’s not quite sure what he wants. He just needs to do something. He opens the fridge and stares unseeing at the contents, replaying the conversation he just had with you. He was going to be living with you for the next couple of days. Not that he practically wasn’t already. Steve was nearly always over at your place when neither of you had work or class…
But this was so much more. He was facading as your boyfriend. He’d get to see what it was like to finally hold you that way, to kiss you, to look at you without wondering if his eyes were going to combust into hearts and lead you to the realization that he’s been in love with you for so long. He was so excited to let his real feelings out, but so nervous. What if this opened a can of worms? What if–
“Dude, I’m making you pay for the whole electric bill this month if you keep that fridge open!” Bucky scolds, closing the refrigerator door and effectively snapping Steve out of his trance.
“Shit, sorry.”
“What’s gotten into you? I was callin’ you; do you want to play COD?”
“Uh,” Steve rubs the back of his head, feels the heat of his blush creeping up his neck, “I can’t. I’ve gotta take some of my stuff to Y/N’s. I’m staying over there for a couple of days.” He sidesteps his best friend, hoping to avoid the conversation altogether. Steve pushes into his bedroom when Bucky finally processes his words.
“Hold on. Did you tell her?” he asks, running into Steve’s room, eyes bright and excited. “You sly dog, you finally did it! What did she say?”
Steve smiles and scoffs at his best friend. “She wants me to be her fake boyfriend and stay over for the next couple of days while her sister’s here.”
Steve laughed as he watched Bucky try to process the situation. He shakes his head, brows furrowed in complete confusion. “Pal, I’m gonna need you to explain what the fuck you just said.”
“Y/N’s sister is coming to visit for a few days. She told her sister that she had a boyfriend that’s living with her.”
“So, you’re the boyfriend?”
“Well, yeah. I gotta take some clothes over there…probably some stuff, too. Ya know, make it look like I live there.” Steve disappeared into his closet in search of a dufflebag.
“Steve,” Bucky calls, biting his lip and running a hand over his jaw. “You sure this is a good idea?”
Steve reappears, stack of clothes in one hand, duffle in the other. “Why wouldn’t it be?”
“I’m just worried about you. I know how you feel about this girl, and I don’t want you gettin’ hurt just ‘cause she asked you to play pretend.”
Steve reaches out and grasps Bucky’s shoulder. “I appreciate the concern, Buck, but everything’s gonna be fine. Her sister’s only here until the day after Christmas. I can handle this.”
Bucky smiles and pats Steve’s shoulder affectionately. “You better take some of your paintings to hang on the walls.”
Steve’s eyes widen with realization. “I should take my kit over there, too.” He mutters to himself.
Bucky watches his best friend flit around the room, gathering clothes and art supplies, smiling like he’s bursting with excitement and anticipation. While Steve is distracted, Bucky pulls out his phone and pulls up his text thread with Natasha. Tell me what you know about this fake dating situation.
