but fr i think Detlaff would be God of love, lust and passion. it fits him well. and since he's chaotic neutral his domain also could be chaotic you know "love is love" and "no boundaries for love" etc that could be very fucked up in some cases

but same thing with Gale's ambitions that can be directed in the name of evil and destruction

Re: the differences in life expectancy between Gale and Dettlaff, one, either, or both could research how to make potions of longevity? It's one of the non-evil methods of expanding ones life and while they're difficult to make well, Gale is an accomplished wizard with or without Mystra's involvement, I'm sure he could manage.

In general, I have 2 global options for extending Gale's life.

The first (rather optimistically naive): Gale returns the crown to Mystra, but refuses the further role of the "chosen one", while he asks for all the years of faithful service and his achievements to let him live as long as Detlaff (it would be nice if there worked like "and they died on the same day").

Second: use "Rite of the Timeless Body". On Gale's own or with the help of Jaheira and Halsin.

And now I also read a little to dnd ways to extend live - there are potions and artifacts that can do that, like you said - potion of Longevity for example. And i think Detlaff will do everything that he can to make his husband live with him as long as possible :(

now i finally got all the endings with Gale (the last one was Professor one)

I didn't even think about NOT returning crown to Mystra since Gale has an orb and he could die

I like all endings with Gale (except his death obviously). I find interesting ideas for silly husbands in each haha. in the professor ending i like that Gale doesn't have to deal with Mystra, but sadly he's a human and Detlaff is a half-elf, so they don't have much time together. So i prefer more chosen!Gale for long life expectancy (Elminster is 13 centuries old)... but maybe there's a chance to combine 2 endings into one that I like more :^)))
