A Dark n’ Stormy Halloween Rock Show spotlight! 😈 Pisa Cake is “A Slice Of Fabulous” that brings on the sweet n’ sassy - all tied up with lurid enchantment! Prepare to be teased and pleased! Be sure to reserve yourself the best view with seats in VIP! . Pisa Cake's interest in burlesque began more than a decade ago when she saw a show for the first time at just 18 years old. Unable to ignore the allure of the glamorous art form, she found herself attending shows regularly and learning as much as she could about burlesque's origins and history. In her mid-twenties, she began seeking out education and mentorship from local starlets, and in 2011, she finally hit the stage herself officially as one of Tucson’s first unaffiliated burlesque performers, and has since produced and/or performed in over eighty productions. Today, our state boasts countless performers and producers, and she couldn't be prouder to be part of such a eclectic, talented community of rebels. . When not on stage, Pisa volunteers in animal advocacy with local rescue Tucson CARES (Companion Animal Rescue, Education and Support), and crafts pasties, accessories, organza boas and more to benefit rescue animals in Arizona under her brand Accoutrements for the Animals. @pisacake . Burlesque happens to be a hobby of mine (albeit a sporadic one, but one nonetheless) and I am also the roommate/BFF to local performer, Pisa Cake. In between life we have rhinestoned into the early morning, performed and even traveled (Burlycon '11, WUT!) together in the name of our beloved craft. So when she gets FEATURED IN A BOOK I have to cosign that shit and buy like five copies. BUT! There will be no books to look lovely on my coffee table if the goal funds are not raised. So, I'm asking you for help. Every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated! I am unable to hug through the interwebs but know that I am sending virtual hugs of thanks.
Tony Marisco's Kickstarter for the project can be found here.

I tell you I'm just BRIMMING with Halloween excitement! I’m excited to be a part of Natasha Noir's annual creepy burlesque show, The Witching Hour Revue , celebrating its third year at The Flycatcher, on October 28th
This show is going to be incredible, with both local and Phoenix-based performers, hosting by Steven Romo, multiple duets and brand new acts, a Costume Contest with great prizes, and more. My piece is especially close to my heart because I'm embodying a character I call The Queen of Halloween, and she's all about celebrating Halloween nostalgia and aesthetic - she's bleeds Halloween from the stripes and cobweb fabrics the costume is composed of, to a certain timeless Tim Burton character the act closes out with. ;)
