Dick Dale (a.k.a, Richard Anthony Monsour), a Lebanese-American, was one of the great virtuoso guitarists of the early surf music craze. The Middle Eastern-style of music that he grew up around is evident in his music. Dale passed away in Loma Linda, California, on March 16, 2019, at age 81.
