~alt!mute~

This is mute in the au!! I turned them emo pfft-

They would be pretty much just like how normal mute is, but maybe a liittle meaner- and also emo/goth, obviously.

So- similar to normal mute too- they don’t have a voice! In their childhood- they had an accident, that caused them to not be able to speak. but this time they have a little voice box/speaker thingy given to them by mrs.Neapolitan and they can use to speak and sing ! Which normal mute does not have ^^

I actually think they would have angst due to that, because in this version of the story instead of theatre being their complete passion, they used to love to sing.. and yeah, they can use a synthetic voice now - but.. they still can’t actually do it anymore.

depending on if noise and or noisette are still their childhood friends too- they would’ve known that too.. they probably know how horrible it is for mute- though they have another chance to speak they’ll never be able to have their normal voice back again.. and that’s all because of the accident.

Otherwise to lighten the mood alt!mute is much more gay than normal mute just because they prefer he/them instead of just they/them. And I love that.

Since I am actually bad at labelling genre’s, They were mainly inspired by artists like Jhariah, panic at the disco(minus bad person thing), some set it off songs, and also some songs from IDKHOW. :D

~lofi!Anthea~

Moving onto the sweet childhood friend of peppino! Her genre would be lofi!! <3 thought to do the whole “opposites attract” thing with peppy and Thea in this au!

I like to think she’s still peppys childhood friend in this, and pep would probably still be as oblivious as ever she crushes on him lmao.

Just like normal Anthea, she’s peppino’s biggest fan!! And she’s more than willing to do anything just to help him out! That includes being there when the story is going on- even if she doesn’t really want to be known much as an artist herself. and simular to how Dessert Dungeon starts she’ll probably get tricked by mrs.Neapolitan into suffering! :D

In this au, I thought it was fitting to keep two things normal Anthea had but as major plot points this time- one being her piano/keyboard. (As a child, Anthea would play piano. In this au- she never grew out of it really!) and her fear of drowning/suffocation.

The instrument that Anthea would have with her at all times would be a keyboard! Since playing piano comforted her as a child, she likes to play comforting and sweet songs for others- or duet to others songs to show support.

And since metal!peppino has the fear of fire— I thought it would be okay to keep anthea’s little traumatic event with water the same! <3 though I’m unsure if it would play out differently in this au.. if not, peppino would definitely know about her fear- I wonder if she’d know of his? 👀

She mainly keeps her singing voice quiet, but she *can* sing- and it’s very pretty, she just doesn’t like to have others hear her singing voice because of - THATS RIGHT FOLKS- the guy in her normal backstory still existing in this au! I’m tweaking things, and figuring out how peppino wouldn’t have found out about him in this au.. but Anthea still has lots of trauma! <3

Anthea in this au was inspired by well— lofi songs (think of like,, songs you’d hear on Spotify to sleep or whilst watching the lofi girl stream) But also some other songs that I think would fit/inspired me were:

I have more ideas for my other ocs! Like strawbetty (since she was inspired by sayu already) being a sentient ai! And the twincakes could be a capella duo!! But for now I’ll keep it to these two <3

Everything to know about(peppy)

~Basic info~

Name: Peppino spaghetti.

Nicknames: peppy, pep,

Age: adult. Probably about in his 40’s..

Gender: male (usually cis in this au, but in some versions trans.)

Pronouns: he/him

Sexuality: bisexual

Nationality: Italian

Species: human.

~backstory~

Even from a young age, peppino had always enjoyed cooking. It’s what tied him to those around him, and also gave him general joy when learning how.

He started dreaming about opening up a restaurant in his late teen years, though it looked like he wouldn’t be able to just yet when it came to him going to war.

Peppino was always a little anxious, but he was definitely much happier before going to war. He felt like he almost lost everything after that..

Except for Anthea..

With her help, and help from a friend he soon met a few years from returning (gustavo), he was able to at least work on his dream of opening up a restaurant..

The trauma he brought back changed him a little bit, but there was still that love for cooking, along with the help of the other two and that, it made it a little more possible for him to have a happy life after the war.

Anthea had reminded him of the good times before what happened too, she honestly played a big role in calming him down now.. though sometimes he had wondered if he lost a bit of her too, but he didn’t know why..

Things first went pretty well for peppino- but over the time some interferences had made it hard for peppino to continue his dream- but even when times got tough he had his friends to support him, though that couldn’t help with the piling debt- it was still nice. Anthea did open her own business to try and help with his too, though he never knew that was part of the reason.

Now once the pizza tower incident started, he had worried he was going to lose everything all over again. will he be able to stop the interferences before it’s too late?

~personality~

Peppino is still the same Italian chef we know and love, he’s extremely anxious and depressed, and he’s done with most people’s BS.

Despite what you’d be thinking though, He genuinely does like to work in his restaurant and it kind of reduces his stress— well,, sometimes it makes it worse, but mostly he feels better and relieved when he has an order to work on.

Though for the most part he’s fed up with humanity, he has a heart of gold still. He’s still extremely soft and emotional, which makes it hard for him to say no to others at specific times. He also genuinely wants to help people, even those he doesn’t really like.. but This does especially show with people he finds extremely important to him— especially Anthea..

Anthea out of anyone definitely means the world to him, and she can calm him down a lot faster than anyone else. she stuck with him through so much, and still tries her best to help him. Sometimes he feels too guilty to accept her help, but he appreciates it a lot..

Also animals seem to just like peppino, and some try to comfort him whilst he’s anxious (especially cats and dogs for some reason.) Though he’s extremely afraid of frogs for some reason..

Oh dear, the days are already zooming and fading away into each other.

Our nature hike was cancelled since there was too much snow. But was perfect for sledding! We hit the hills, tumbled down on our plastic seats, and walked on scenic trails on the Mönschberg.

The afternoon was still young, but the city went to bed a little early. We tried to go down to get sim cards at the store but left too late in the day and missed the bus. We had 2 hours to chill before dinner (and didn’t want to hike back up the mountain just yet), so we crossed the bridge and explored the New Town. Most things were closed since it was Sunday, but I found us cute little hipster coffee house. We all got hot chocolate and had a good time chatting and hanging out on the couches. I think this was my first time waving down the waiter for the check, too. I really like this system of payment and knowing how much you owe (taxes and all included). If something costs 3,50 you can round up to 4 and the rest is considered a tip (or you can ask for the change back).

The clock towers started ringing and we realized we should head to the restaurant that was a 20 minute walk in old town. At Gasthaus Krimpelstätter, we ate plain and simple comfort food: salad, Schnitzel, and french fries :) Back at the Mönschberg, we went down into the dungeon for a Salzy bonding game night.

Jan 13

In the morning, we got the rundown on community service opportunities for the semester and had time to prepare for our first volunteer session at the elementary school. We would be running workshops that allowed youth to practice their English.

In the afternoon, we sat down together in the student room upstairs and brainstormed an outline of cities we’d like to visit this semester. Even if we don’t completely stick to the outline, it’s nice to know that we have places we are interested in traveling to together, and it makes me more excited that this will soon be a reality for us each weekend :)

Later in the evening we had a dinner party at the house. Marcus made traditional sausages and salads for us to try. We were also able to try some grapefruit radlers. Quick historical background: drinking and driving is illegal, and that counts for cyclists too. So the radler was designed so that cyclists could enjoy a drink but would still be legal enough to ride their bikes.

Jan 14

My crusty, tired eyes took some time to open when my alarm went off. I splashed my face with some soap and water and head downstairs to have some bomb ass pancakes with fresh jam and hot tea for breakfast. Climbing 4 sets of stairs gets your heart pumping (and can make you sweaty if you’re wearing too many layers). Katharina walked into the room, plugged in the Aux, and got some bops playing in our classroom. She had us dancing around and stretching, which definitely woke all of us up for our 8:30am class.

I'm actually super excited to be learning German! It's activating the Spanish that's been sitting unused in the back of my head. It’s the weirdest thing ever. Every time I hear questions in German, I want to reply in Spanish. I’m honestly surprised by how much Spanish I actually know and remember. I almost feel like once you learn an additional language (other than your first language), it can be easier to pick up new languages.

Lowkey forgot that studying is part of studying abroad. I’m mentally here for the abroad part. But I’m also taking a handful of classes split up by different professors so it feels like 6-8 classes but it’s just 4??

In the classroom, we will be studying Western European art, architecture, and music in different styles and time periods. Outside the classroom, we attend museums, architectural sites, and concerts.

And our final mystery class will begin sometime towards the middle of the semester. It was originally going to be taught by Kathleen Feely (one of the History professors from the University of Redlands) but she wasn’t able to attend last minute. So I believe we will have two visiting professors from the Salzburg area (or maybe one is joining us from the US for two weeks) and they will be focusing on Austrian (and/or German) film and social justice within Austria.

After classes, we had an Asian fusion stir fry/ chow mein dish for lunch. It even had a little kick to the flavor too  (okay Marcus I see youuuu - and also hear all your little hums and random songs and noises in the kitchen)!

DOWN TIIIIME - will it ever exist other than today?? We all gathered in the Winter Garden to watch Deadpool. I joined everyone on the couches but focused on starting my journal entries since we have to get 20 down each week.

Raine and I were also responsible for making brownies for one of our community service organizations (Caritas). I am the girl who burned water twice when trying to make mac and cheese, and nearly forgot to add the third ingredient to a 3 ingredient boxed brownie recipe. Cooking and baking stresses me out. At least I learned from previous mistakes and now know what not to do! And this was just another round of boxed brownies where you just add ingredients. Easy peasy, right?

Welp the directions were in German and the stove was foreign. We had no idea what setting to put the oven on so that it would warm up and bake the goods. I ended up watching 3 YouTube videos on German ovens and their settings so that I would understand de ways.

Luckily, we figured it out, shoved them in the oven and left them there for 40 minutes to bake. We came back just in time for them to be done and the kitchen smelled delightful. I mean, one of the corners was slightly crispier than the others, so we cracked a few windows open so the smokey smell wouldn’t set off the overly-sensitive fire alarm. But I would call it an overall success.

We got ready to head down into the city and Patrick forgot to set an alarm to wake up so we were a little late to dinner. We went to a pizza shop (Il Sole) and I had salami pizza. They also brought out little glasses of neopolitan ice cream for dessert. I feel like all I write about is food. But what can I say, I'm a fan of eating. Terrified of cooking but I'm down to try any dish.

“A kind and gentle florist, one that just so happens to be peppino’s childhood friend. She seems to see the good in most and that includes peppino— as she is completely clueless to him being the right-hand man to a mafia

To be fair, peppino does try and keep her in the dark about it too- she isn’t allowed to visit any of his restaurants for this reason. But it does seem that the idea of peppino being in such a situation is a topic she’s most oblivious on. As if she couldn’t really see him as evil in any shape or form— and if she knew, perhaps that wouldn’t change at all.

There are times she can defend herself, though there are rumours that a traumatic event happened in the past that had caused her to have forgotten parts of her past— including the traumatic event. peppino was there for the event, and wants to keep her safe and protect her from danger like that from now on. Though, Knowing it’d be risky if she got too involved with him he doesn’t visit her often, but when he does he still can’t help but get a bit soft…

Though when someone on pizzaheads side discovers their closeness.. will Anthea still be shielded from all of this?”

Fun fact! I came up with this whole backstory before I even knew about this au <3 it was for normal evil peppino at first! I just changed It ever so slightly for the mafia au! Though I understand the love for evil X evil I also really like evil X oblivious sweetheart so much >v<

I also decided her being a florist would be best in this au >:3 like to imagine that peppino listens to her ramble on about flower meanings— and eventually he started secretly asking her for flowers to give secret messages and stuff >:D she probably does get the meanings of the messages he’s putting together with flowers but because he just says they are for one of his restaurants she just brushes it off, thinking it’s slightly odd.

~mutey/masky(mute)~

“A loyal guard dog. Masky is apart of pizzaheads little gang- and to an extent Darling’s part of it too, though cares more about Noise than anything else involved. They and noise had known each other since childhood- and have had history together. Noise was there for most of masky’s trauma— so they are greatful and plan to stay with noise through anything.

when noise started gambling— they didn’t really like that, but felt powerless to stop him..

Instead they opted to help noise in other ways, making sure to protect him and doing little things for him. Now and then they would slightly try and protest on the addiction, but when that failed they wouldn’t do more but continue to stay by his side through it.

Now, they ended up working at pizzahead’s casino with noise— though they never wanted to be involved in the first place they wouldn’t want to get out of this mess without noise— so they silently repress their own feelings and do any job they are told to.

..though if it ever came to them finally standing up for themself, and disobey darling.. would they still be alive to keep noise happy?”

Mute is probably the biggest simp in this au AND that’s saying something 😭👍

Like normal mute also can’t talk- so they’d have to find some other way to communicate such as cherades, a whiteboard or a voice box ^w^

Noise despite not really realising how important they are to him— understands mute very easily still too..

Since noise seems more focused on making money in this au - it takes a while but eventually he comes to realize how important mute truly is to him.. but, the problem is it may be too late before that happens 😔👍

~whippy/sugar(Chelsey)~

“Whippy works for pizzaheads little gang, but more for Darling herself. She used to be a highly trained assassin but with some “small talk”, Darling was able to “convince” her to work for her. For the most part she is only needed as a bodyguard for Darling, though there are times she is given jobs to kill someone.

With such a cold expression, you’d expect a heart completely void of love. Though this is what she’d like you to believe— not only does she take care of two orphaned twins as her own siblings (after her real ones died in an “accident”), she had caught feelings for a specific cop(vigi).. and even fully knowing that her love was unrequited - she couldn’t stop herself from getting a bit soft around him.

It’s possible that this crush weakens her slightly, and may even make her hesitant to do one of her jobs in the future..

Though if it ever came to him being her target, and the safety of the twins relied on it— how could she ever deal with the possibility?”

Yeah if you thought mute gets hit hard in this au- Chelsey’s angst may be a contender for my favorite in this au~ she is completely taken over the edge and never will be able to be truly happy 😔

It’s unknown at how long they’ve known each other, but a while ago she had joined in on helping with pizzahead’s gang, working for the casino in secret and keeping her “mostly” innocent makeup brand separate.

She’s madly in love with pizzahead and is very loyal towards him, she watches others that work for him (and her) to make sure they keep in line, and isn’t afraid of dispelling punishments to those she sees are lacking slightly..

When she figures about the quarrel between peppino&gustavo’s gang and pizzahead’s gang, she immediately takes matters into her own hands to find a way to take peppino and Gustavo down..

And when she discovers peppino’s weakness, his childhood friend.. let’s just say things get a bit interesting..~”

The only two with seperate nicknames that others call them is Chelsey and mute , others call mute “masky” and Chelsey “Whippy”. :)

-I have ideas for the missing two ocs too (strawbetty and Evi) BUT Evi’s doesn’t have enough structure yet and strawbetty’s will come later— it’s definitely boring compared to everyone else’s story’s LOL <3 strawbetty’s nickname would be berrie tho!

-mute was just starting to warm up to noisette and even crush on her too when noise and her broke up- they had to quickly get back on noise’s side after.

Everything to know about(Fake Peppino/Froggie)

~basic info~

Name: onippeP ittehgapS

Nickname: pip, froggie(his favorite name), Bruno

Age: unknown , but adult. close in age with Evi.

Gender: intersex, but identifies with male

Pronouns: he/it

Sexuality: panromantic demisexual

Species: clone.

(TW: in the backstory there is talk about mental abuse, and lab experiments)

~Backstory~

Pip was the most successful out of many attempts at cloning peppino. And even despite that he still had some flaws, he was as close as they could get him- but not close enough for what pizza head and pizza face had wanted.

Despite this, pizza head had went on in trying to train him to be like peppino. Unlike mrs Neapolitan he was a bit kinder to his experiments, and did more encouraging of the behaviour he wanted then testing him(though that doesn’t mean he didn’t get tested on oh boy.), but that doesn’t mean he didn’t get a bit manipulative to pip.

Pizza head (and occasionally pizza face) had done all he could to make him like peppino, mentally and emotionally manipulating him to feel bad about any of the things that weren’t perfectly like peppino. Though at first he kind of wanted to find his own path, It got to the point where it triggered him if he was called a fake by any means..

Unlike Evi, he was able to roam around the tower freely, being the most perfect clone they could get of course. He was still deemed a failure by pizzaface, but pizzahead hadn’t gaven up on him.

They had found an old but familiar(to him) pizza place , “Bruno’s pizza”, where he resides in most of the time now, though sometimes he goes to wander around other places accessible to the tower.

Once he found another lab in the tower, curiousity got the best of him— he found another experiment by the name of “Evi”, who he got attached to instantly. Though he usually preferred being called peppino, the nickname she gave him stuck as one he cherished the most.

“Froggie.”

Now he resides in the tower, sometimes going to find Evi and take her back to his little home/pizza place.

~personality~

Froggie is much different from peppino, as he usually isn’t anxious. He can definitely have meltdowns and anxiety like attacks, and in a way they are worse than peppino’s- but he’s often smiling (and not just cause his face is permanently stuck that way), and usually is much more curious and childish about things.

You could compare him to a dog in some ways, if he trusts you and cares about you- he’s very friendly and loyal to you, though he’s not as friendly if he doesn’t trust you, and if he doesn’t like you at all and you try to hurt him or someone he loves- he will bite you.

Similar to peppino though- he is very determined about things that are important to him, though it can make him Stubborn sometimes. Though more differently What he places his importance on can sometimes seem random, but to him it makes sense.

~Basic info~

Nicknames: Mute, Mutey, Mu, Doxxy(rare), little shit number 3

Age: adult. Same age as noise and noisette.

Gender: “mind your fuckin’ business”/“whatever” (Nonbinary, intersex)

Pronouns: they/them (you can call them anything but that’s their preferred ones)

Sexuality: pansexual.

Species: human mixed with a cat.

(TW: this backstory contains childhood abuse, losing your voice, and possibly more.)

~Backstory~

from a very young age, mute has always liked acting. They always loved theatres and big stages— their two friends from childhood (noise and noisette) knew this too, it was one of the first things they found out about mute.

There was two factors that got in the way of that, sadly.. their parents disapproval and soon enough, the accident that happened in their teen years.

Mute’s voice box had gotten very badly damaged, the doctors were able to make it that they could still breathe- but they couldn’t speak anymore..

Despite this, with the encouragement of their two friends, they didn’t give up— soon getting even better when they got away from their not so great parents. to this day they are pretty good at acting and cherades.

Those two friends of theirs who were there for them are now their partners- who are noise and noisette. And they love them very much.

They now reside in the tower with them, running their own theatre.

~personality~

Mute is a theatre kid at heart, and can be pretty dramatic at times— but usually it’s all in good fun to them, and their two partners.

Like noise and noisette, they can get pretty annoying , even despite their lack of a voice. That doesn’t stop them from being a little shit from time to time, and never will. <3

Though even if they can be dramatic and annoying, they are much more chill than noise. And obviously less talkative than noisette. Only being more ruthless to their rival Anthea. Otherwise when they switch off theatre kid mode they are usually pretty cool. And they usually do know when to stop. Usually.

They are extremely loyal and loving towards their partners, they mean more than the world to them— even more than their theatre and acting career. They would drop everything for them in a heartbeat.

Though they are much more chill than their partners, If given a voice or a whiteboard they either meme with it(the whiteboard at least) or swear like a sailor(for both) gotta use your voice to the best of its abilities somehow huh

Everything to know about(Evi)

~basic info~

Name: Evi

Nicknames: ivE, eve, vivi, vi

Age: unknown, but an adult. One year younger than Fakino.

Gender: Demigirl

Pronouns: she/they

Sexuality: panromantic demisexual

Species: an experiment. (Humanoid made out of Angel food cake, frosting and human/cat/bird DNA.)

~backstory~

Evi was made in a laboratory in the tower by mrs.Neapolitan, when very first created- she started out pretty cheerful and childish. The reason for her existence for mrs Neapolitan though was mainly to have another test subject, one humanoid but still made out of something sweet..

Once mrs Neapolitan started to do tests on Evi , it made her much more anxious and distrusting of most things and people, especially mrs Neapolitan. The experiments she went through were cruel— some not being that ethical. But even when she tried to run away mrs.Neapolitan would always find her..

Though one day, when trying to escape the lab, she met another experiment. This one was one of pizzahead’s experiments— fake peppino. This was the first time she wasn’t scared of someone at first sight, at least not as much as usual..

..after playing and getting to know each other, they became friends. And now to this day fake peppino is the one Evi trusts the most.

~personality~

Evi usually is scared and timid now due to being tested on, she jumps at very loud noises, and cries alot when she’s in the laboratory. but when she’s with someone she trusts she’s sweet and childish. She loves to find little gifts for fakino like rocks and flowers, and is happy to help him out with anything she can.

She’s usually fairly weak, though she does have an eldritch horror-like form and inbetweens that she can shift into if she really really needs to fight— but that’s extremely rare to see, as usually Evi is too afraid to fight anyone.

She has a few cat behaviours and a few bird behaviours, I’ve mostly only decided on the cat behaviours like purring, and nuzzling/brushing against those she cares about.
