Felt a little inspired, drew both @billfrancois' Leif (and his main Pokémon Deweep) with my Grass Gym Leader Angela (and her main Pokémon Incerose)!
Please please please I implore you to check out Bill's stuff, their art is so cool—

We have a lot of punk-esque Pokémon, actually
And by a lot I mean four, Skuntank, Scrafty, Obstagoon, and Toxtricity (interesting that only one of these are not dark type). This intrigues me because when it comes to other alternative genres we're really drawing at straws, and I wonder why Pokémon Company picked punk four times specifically (not that I hate it, those are some of my favourite Pokémon!)
Something I'd love to see? A grunge, emo, goth (I know we have Gothitelle but we definitely could do with more) or metal based Pokémon, but NOT just the looks and also considering the music and the meaning of the genres themselves. By extension maybe more specific subgenres too, for example I associate Scrafty with Crust Punk all the time. What about an industrial punk Pokémon? Or queercore (THAT WOULD BE SO COOL) or riot grrrl?
This ESPECIALLY goes for if they're making a goth Pokémon ever again because the one line we got, as much as I love them, really was them doing Gothic Lolita and calling it a day (Actually I remember, I did make some Gothitelle regional variants a long way back, I should post those). THEY SHOULD EXPAND! Get super specific, are they doing darkwave? Gothic Rock? New Wave?, Maybe even focus on a specific band rather than subgenres, imagine a Pokémon based on Siouxie and the Banshees or Diva Destruction or the Crüxshadows (I happen to like the last two most).
That being said of course this is nuanced because we the players can interpret things however we want. This doesn't need to happen either! I just thought it would be really interesting to think about (and if y'all have any ideas please share! It'd be super neattt—)
Idk if I actively announced it in my skunk Pokémon post but I was gonna make a new alt skunk Pokémon as part of a pseudo starter trio (still debating how the triangle's gonna be). I'll probably base it off of the more occult nature of some of the music I've heard, but I'm gonna ask around to get a better gauge of how to really get a neat design down. The other members of the trio, if you're curious, are going to be an oppossum and a raccoon partially because of that one Oklahoma starter Pokémon meme and partially because we somehow don't have either as a Pokémon yet I think. They'll be alt too but idk what specifically I'll do for them yet

Hmm, now I'm wondering because I've seen it a ton
How exactly does pokeblogging/rotomblr work..? Is it kinda everyone's own thing in the community, or are there things planned and stories made collectively? I'm genuinely curious cause it's real interesting to me—

@warden-melli posted his and I was way too busy to post my Paradox Skuntank take on the same day oop—
Tumblr media
Iron Rebel, the Paradox Pokémon!
Ability: Quark Drive (if I'm going by game standards, if not Keen Eye)
Height: 1.25 m (4.1 ft)
Weight: 44.0 kg (97.01 lbs)
Dex Entries:
Scarlet: "In a dubious magazine it's listed that this creature, Iron Rebel, is a vagabond roaming and thriving in a world many years away."
Violet: "It's been rumoured that this Paradox Pokémon is a Skuntank that is adapted to billions of years out into the future. No one knows how it came to do so, nor does anyone know exactly why."
Shiny Colours:

Enigmas of Paldea, Volume 13
Iron Rebel: A Self-Mechanized Pokémon?
Signs of this Pokémon have been sprouting around Paldea according to people and their Pokémon being supposedly attacked by it, yet the signs appear to be different on every recorded occasion. Some say the Pokémon lashed at them with sharp, pointed claws, some say it threw what appears to be darts at them, and others report being subject to toxic smoke bombs or flaming blasts. As reported in the Violet Book all of these reports could easily be true, as Iron Rebel is capable of doing all of these things when battling or trying to catch prey.
Not much has been observed however, given its unruly disposition across the species and unwillingness to undergo any formal or man-made practice, but two things about it have been observed. Its fur and genetic makeup directly correlates it to the modern-day Skuntank, and the tip of its tail has over time developed into sharper quills and bristles it uses as projectiles, being able to grab them from its tail that it can still spray acids from. It's not known that this object was the result of an experiment or created by human means, which begs the question—how did Skuntank become Iron Rebel?

I redrew my starters because last time I made a background around them—
On the left is Sedolcat! A polecat-based Pokémon that hosts a seed on its head. It's real smart, coming up with crafty ways to forage and hunt to sustain itself and the seed it cultivates!
In the middle is Sizziligot! A goat-esque warrior that fights with a fiery passion, literally and figuratively. They make bows out of their own fleece and practice their aim with sticks and branches they set ablaze!
On the right is Seremink! A water mink that takes great inspiration from its beauty and the beauty in those around it. It fashions its fur and hair-like water to be much like human trends, taking both people and Pokémon by surprise with its attention to style!
These are the first forms of my starters in which their evolutions are still a work in progress. What I do know though is that they're all loosely based on a Greek God/Goddess, being Artemis, Ares, and Aphrodite respectively—

Felt inspired and drew a thing! Was gonna introduce more of my region before then but ehh whatever—
Tumblr media
Meet Shasta and her Poison type team! And no, she's not even the Poison gym leader lol
You'd meet her in post game as a character you could both battle and befriend! I have a real massive post game planned and she's a small part of it—

Hmm I keep seeing other people's Pokémon regions and trainers and original Pokémon and whatnot and every time I both think it's super cool and think that I really need to redesign and reorganize every single thing about my Pokémon region
Is that just a me thing? Do I even need to? Idk

The fakemon project thingy I've been putting together is so funny because it's 6 years old at this point
This means it's older than when I figured out I'm trans, which for some reason means a lot of early character designs compared to the ones I'm making now are so so basic lmao
Not only that but it actually affected how I was gonna do production. See, I was going to make 18 gym leaders, and younger me was going to make half of them male and half of them female. There are way more genders than that though, so I'm probably scrapping that whole idea and I'm just gonna do whatever the fuck I want with those 18
Though, some characters have actually survived from my younger years and I guess I'll post a few of them while I'm at it (under the cut!)
Tumblr media
CHIRST THIS OLD ART 😭 (it's the only image I could find!) but yeah, Aquaitha was her name but I'm probably changing that. Water gym leader, sailor's daughter, she sails on her spare time and by spare time I mean sometimes she'll disappear for weeks at sea. It's said her and her father together have gone to all of the known regions in the world!
Tumblr media
Did I name her? Surely I named her right? I don't remember. Anyway, grass gym leader, a lot like Erika but what if she was punk. She likes to grow and nurture all sorts of grass type Pokémon but her favourite are the ones that are dangerous or unconventional!
Tumblr media
Pyriellie! She's my personal favourite, fire gym leader, and was a vigilante that had a tendency to commit arson towards organizations and people that have wronged her or she feels are wronging Pokémon. She's also a pyromaniac though so sometimes she just does arson because she's stressed. The league forced her to work as a gym leader because "if her prison is like paradise then why would she ever run away?"
Tumblr media
Mercedes! The poison type gym leader, good friends with basically everybody in the league. She can be a little intimidating but she's not nearly as dangerous as she lets on. Also works part time in the region's sanitation because she genuinely loves the job

A little extra bit about Shasta from the post before (this one!)
Her and her whole team all have one main thing in common, being that they all stink. Yes, literally.
Shasta was and is your standard, run-of-the-mill trainer in town, at least before she developed Trimethylaminuria (also known as TMAU, it's an actual condition that this site goes more in depth in) which with a combination of herself not really caring and her society being so focused on purity and cleanliness led to her being outcast into the wild. That's where she meets most of her Pokémon team (she always had Gloom), a team much like her that she treats as one united family!
Also yes, she has one of my fakemons on her team and while I'm still kinda developing it the general synopsis of the Pokémon, Hoazazzin (working name), is that it processes poisons and chemicals in its diet to use and exude to swiftly and silently take down prey, and provided its loosely based on the hoatzin bird it breaking down and releasing aromatic compounds makes sense to why the Pokémon can also stink, probably using that to stun and attack prey—

Did a little doodle of the three starter Pokémon of the one fakemon region I briefly mentioned I was developing a while back (here)!
Tumblr media
Names aren't set in stone, but for now they're Sizziligot, Sedolcat, and Selemink (going from left to right)! Conceptually it's a contrast between Brawn, Brains, and Beauty in exactly that order, I'll probably introduce them dex-wise sometime soon to give more insight—
Which one would you all pick?

To be honest @/billfrancois is kinda inspiring me to share a bit of my fakemon stuff—
I've been working on it for a few years, I'm nowhere near done or anything but I'm wondering if I should start posting what I've got too.... Heh, I just might—
