Aftermath - I over reacted, didn’t I
Original post:https://www.reddit.com/r/AirBnB/comments/c3uo0b/i_overreacted_didnt_i/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ios_share_flow_optimization&utm_term=control_2Guest fails to disclose child that is accompanying her and her husband. Unit has max occupancy of 2 and specifically mentions not child friendly. I asked them to leave due to liability concerns and a breach of the rules. They protest and I ultimately concede and allow them to stay. They left the place a mess I get a bad review as noted below. Here’s their feedback:The check-in process was very convenient and we were permitted to check in early. I checked in ‪around 1.30pm‬ and my 3 year old daughter and fiance arrived ‪around 2:30 pm‬. While we were at the park about an hour after they arrived, we received a message saying that we would have to leave and would be issued a refund because the host was unaware that we had a child as well. I traveled nearly 9 hours and was deeply saddened that I would have to find another place the last minute for my family to stay. However, Guest decided to go ahead and let us stay for the weekend, but this left us feeling unwelcome and as if we had to walk on eggshells. It would have been expensive and difficult to find somewhere else to stay so we accepted his offer. I was very disappointed that we were asked to leave with no notice because of our 3 year old daughter. If you have smaller children, I would not recommend this place, but otherwise it was very stylish, spacious, and clean. I have no complaints about the actual placeHere’s what I’m thinking of replying back:I’m sorry to hear about your experience. The listing specifically mentions that the unit is not child friendly as the fixtures can pose a potential danger to children under 4. During the booking process, I asked who was accompanying you during your stay and you made no mention of a child. I allowed an early check in and only came to know about a child after receiving a noise compliant from the tenants above. Despite being a breach of Airbnb rules, I offered a full refund and gave you time in the unit to source another rental. After you voiced concern about finding another place in time, I agreed to allow you and your family to stay for your entire booking period. Is this too harsh? Get $20 off your first AirBnB stay.

thank you for always mentioning what the dice are!
I try my best to! I’m personally too shy to ask most of the time if I do see someone post dice I think look really nice and don’t say what they are.
And like, I generally am writing something below the picture anyway so it’s simple enough to say “hey, this dice is by *blank*/I got them from *placehere*”-- if I don’t, either I forgot, my cellphone at the description, or I genuinely don’t know. Of those, the last option is usually the only reason why. I’m pretty on top of it otherwise, but my phone has eaten the description from time to time.
I also see so many comments on posts and things (not just here, but Facebook and Instagram) asking what a die or set is and sometimes, there’s never an answer.
I still consider myself really new with dice collecting and to this day, I’m still a bit confused on what all the sets are  (This is a huge issue especially with Crystal Caste for me and anything from HD Dice).
Not to mention places like HD Dice and other bulk sellers-- Since so many places rename them and sometimes have different pictures, it can also be incredibly hard tracking down some colors. So I at least do my bets to mention where I got them as well.

Taking A Step Back In Time With Shakespeare Birthplace Trust
After a focus week on Shakespeare that inspired our boys earlier in the year, we took them to the home of Shakespeare this weekend. If you are planning a trip to Stratford upon Avon this summer the then you are in for a Shakespearean treat. There are a variety of ticket options available, but the best value option is the town, cottage and farm pass purchased online. If like us, you live a reasonable drive away you would need to look at splitting the activities up over a couple of days.We decided that we would visit the houses in town first as they are all close together (around a 5 min walk to each one.) Then to end the day we took the boys to Mary Arden's farm to let off some steam. Unfortunately we didn't have time to fit in Anne Hathaway's cottage, but purchasing a pass would enable you to visit again within a year. The Shakespeare Birthplace Website is really useful with planning, giving you a guide to how long you would need in each property. I will be writing a more in depth review of each property we visited over on A Strong Coffee To Go.Shakespeare's BirthplaceWe started our day at Shakespeare's Birthplace. Here there is a short exhibition followed by a look around his house. On hand are some Tudors to explain what you are seeing. It seems we wasted a lot of money moving house so the boys could have more space, as in Shakespeare's day they would have shared a bed!Outside there were some actors who quite frankly amazed me by taking requests and acting out scenes from Shakespeare's plays.Shakespeare's New PlaceHere was a small garden filled with sculptures representing Shakespeare's work. I was shocked at how much the boys enjoyed this. However, activity books where they had to find each sculpture certainly helped.Inside was a small exhibition.Hall's CroftThis was the house of Shakespeare's daughter Susanna and her husband Dr John Hall. The children's interest was held here by a mouse hunt! Little Ikea mice were hidden in each room and the boys had to match the mice to the rooms.I personally enjoyed looking at old fashioned medicine. It took us a couple of hours to visit these houses and we could have really done with an hour longer at the car park so that Hall's Croft was not such a rush (I really hate pay and displays as you never know how long you will be!) We decided that we would then spend the afternoon a short drive away at Mary Arden's Farm.Mary Arden's FarmThis was the boys favourite part of the day, and could easily be a "whole" day with small children. Let's face it a whole day with kids is only 4 hours maybe 5 at a stretch. We arrived at just after 1. Unfortunately, we didn't realise that at 1-1.45 you can go down to the house and have dinner. When I say dinner, you can try some old fashioned dishes. We arrived just as they were washing up, but I am sure this would be really engaging for the children and worth remembering if you are visiting. The farm is small and has a number of actors dotted around the place, who stayed in character all the time.We were able to get a feeling for what it was like to live on a farm in Tudor times. There were many games dotted around the place, and when in Shakespeare's mothers farm, one needs to play quills and ink splots rather than snakes and ladders.Unfortunately, the weather had taken a turn for the worse and we were concerned that the falconry display might get cancelled. Luckily there is a barn, where we were treated to a talk about this gorgeous barn owl.We got to see her fly and learned lots about how she would have hunted. It really rounded off our day.Our visit to Stratford Upon Avon was really enjoyable and it was lovely to see the boys so interested in one of our countries greatest playwrights. Middle man has decided that he will write a short version of A Midsummers Night's Dream with his newly purchased quill biro. And long may my husband be alerted by e mail of big mans you tube Googling of the works of Shakespeare.Thank you to Shakespeare Birthplace Trust for providing us with entry in return for this review.

Excessive host checkout expectations for instant book, business-ready listings
I've been using Airbnb as a guest for a few years, but I'm new to using it as a business traveler. I'm finding that my expectations are misaligned with my hosts' on checkout expectations / procedures.Where on the listing are detailed checkout expectations disclosed upfront? Here's my idea of what's reasonable for a guest to do before checking out:Make sure all trash is in the garbage bins inside the house / apartmentClean all dishes that were usedPut back anything that was moved out of placeHere's what I've been expected to do, in addition to that:Take trash to outside binsTake outside bins to curb and put bins back the next dayStrip bed of sheetsThese tasks don't take much extra time, so I do them and I get great reviews for complying perfectly with the hosts' expectations. However, I'm annoyed that I have to do these (extra, IMO) things while paying $100+ cleaning fees. Although my company is paying, I still feel ripped off because it affects my time and my experience, and I'm the one who could decide to spend that money on a different listing where a host doesn't have excessive (IMO) checkout expectations.I read listings thoroughly before booking to look for this information, but of course, most of it is touting their amenities. It's a small thing, maybe, but it's enough to be a tipping point in favor of choosing hosts with less annoying checkout expectations. What's a good way to ask hosts for their checkout cleaning procedures before making the instant booking? I suspect hosts who accept instant bookings would be predisposed to accept guests who don't have any questions beforehand (perceived as less fussy, although that is not necessarily true).I'm just tired of finding out the day before my reservation starts, that a host has checkout expectations beyond what I consider reasonable. At that point it's too late to make an alternate booking and usually they have the Strict cancellation policy, so I'm stuck going through with it.I'm meeting their checkout expectations resentfully, at best, getting good reviews, not letting them know, and then just deciding never to stay with them again, but each time it happens, I'm getting a little more frustrated. What should I do differently in selecting my bookings and host communications to reduce this issue? Thanks.Edit: deleted a word Get $20 off your first AirBnB stay.
