Carb addiction is real. Just because it's acceptable by the society. Because people are not aware about it. But carb addiction is real. And it can go real bad. When the answer to all your problems is those fries, or noodles, or oh so cheesy pizza, in the middle of the night, get it, the source is your emotions, and Not the food. Before you know it, you are addicted to the midnight cravings. At least that's what happened to me. Suppressed emotions came out in those yummy cravings. But that solved nothing. Just suppressed it for the time being. Just because it's Not alcohol, or drugs or cigarettes, its acceptable, but carb addiction can be real bad. I would love to know your take on their I . . . From size 24 to size 12. These two pictures are one year apart. I am still on my journey, but I feel I am a little proud today. I had never imagined I will fit in a size medium. And here I am. :) I feel a little proud of myself today. The past 10 months have been quite something. I am getting there on my transformation, and I love what I see ... I can only feel grateful... For the the person I used to be, and the woman I am now. They both are necessary. Same T-shirt, 5 months apart. The picture on the left wad taken in October. The one on the right was taken today. In the past 5 months, I have hit more plateaus than weightloss. But as I see these two pictures now, I believe these plateaus were necessary for my body to adjust to the new weight. I call it the maintainance mode. Have I felt disappointed during the plateau phase? Yes! Did I want to quit sue to disappointment? Sure I have had my breaking points, but I never could quit. This lifestyle I have chosen for myself, is now wired in me. I weigh myself everyday and have been quite frustrated, but what I must share is do not lose hope. The plateau may be a good thing for your body, to help it consume the fact that you are looking out for a different weigh. Give yourself time to heal. Things will happen. Be kind to yourself. You cannot fix something you don't know is broken. I saw myself as the person on the right, even when I was the one on the left. I felt pretty then, I feel pretty now. But there is a difference. My stamina has improved. My endurance is better. I don't feel the need to hide my insecurities under piles of makeup. I own my scars like badges. So what changed in this time so far? Well, everything if you see it, and nothing, if you really see it. My self esteem is boosted and well fuelled. Tip: Leaving sugar, especially in drinks, has helped me make wiser decision. 28th June 2018: I got a photo shoot done, 20 days after I had decided that I will change my life forever. Adapting a new lifestyle can be as easy and as difficult as you want it to be. It's all about the choices you make for yourself. Start somewhere. Small changes. Every step you take counts. Reassure yourself, but do not fall into the trap of seeking validation from everyone your eyes see. Everybody will have opinions. Some of them will be motivating, some will be knowledgeable, some will be productive, some may even be not very positive. So choose your company wisely. Have faith in yourself. Only you can envision your future self. So don't listen to things that do not resonate with your vision. And it's okay to say No. Go for it. Bring the new you out. Jim Carrey once said “I love my job! Everyone around me treats each other nicely. I make people laugh for a living.” Though we know how tough it must have been on the outside to make things look flawless on the outside, but then what is easy in life?
