Remember:
NFCV was written by an actual sex offender but gets called progressive because it's got GIRL POWER!!
Berserk gets called mysoginistic though
Y'know what though to be fair? I don't wanna accuse fans of the show of being "abuse apologists" or anything like that because:
1) The show has MILLIONS of viewers and the news about Ellis didn't exactly make national news so I'm sure most of them don't even know about it
2) There indeed is something like separating the art from the artist, if we were to criticize people for enjoying media produced by questionable folks on principle then we'd never be able to pick up a book ever again
But also because of this anyone who desires to make the argument about the show being progressive or anything should absolutely keep this in mind.
And if I ever hear people dismiss the games as mysoginistic because Iga once said something about female characters not being fit for these kinds of stories well...
Let's just say I'll take the outdated sexist take on female characters in videogames over the guy who actually hurt dozens of real life women
Yeah, it would be absurd to accuse every fan of NFCV or similarly shoddy products to be bigots and abusers. I can accuse the producers, though :)
Sorry, there is no #girlpower or #pocrepresentation that can stand up against this genuinely vile rhetoric. I really can't care about muh lesbian vampires when Sam Deats lowkey implied that Alucard being bi made Taka raping him more okay (because why would he say that referring to the threesome scene? To confirm that Alucard would be attracted to a man. As if attraction or not matters when you are being taken advantage of like that). And, of course, it's very uncomfortable to see a real life molester attempting to write "stronk women", especially one that is pretty much the parody of a radfem...

Q: What new release are you most excited for today?. I'm so glad A Show For Two is officially out in the world! I read Counting Down With You back in March and fell in love with @tashiebhuiyan’s writing, so I can't wait to start A Show For Two - my audiobook hold just came in and I'm listening to it today. Here's a quick synopsis from the author on Goodreads, which is way more fun than the official synopsis LOL. If this sounds like something you'd like, try it out! Me personally, I'm always here for books that are love letters to NYC, my city!. A SHOW FOR TWO is a YA contemporary novel and a love letter to New York City. It's inspired by when Tom Holland went undercover as a student at Tashie's high school during her senior year which is so wild and cool! This book has hate-to-love, a POC romance since Mina is Bangladeshi and Emmitt is Half-Chinese, a celebrity love interest, a complex sister relationship, in-depth discussions of mental health, a chaotic film club, loads of gen z antics, and nuanced family dynamics as the main character navigates her last year of high school. #AlltheBooksMay22 - Favorite genre #novelebookreads - Romance books #SpringFlowersMay22 - New book Tuesday #LoversBetweenCoversMay22 - Star crossed #LMSMay2022 - Right in the feels #booknookbingo - New release #AShowForTwo #CountingDownWithYou #TashieBhuiyan #inkyardpress #pocrepresentation #boostingya #yalit #ireadYA #newbookalert #readingisfun #fortheloveofbooks #readreadread #booktography #yaromance #libraryofbookstagram #librarybooks #bookishflatlay #romancebooks https://www.instagram.com/p/CdYSM04LXm4/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Day 9#
#pridewithsheraships
#micahxangella
I call this ship #micahlangella, it might not make sense but I like how it sounds. I love ship names that mean something else.
I love them, I wish they had the chance to see each other again and be a happy family, like in the ”false reality” when the portal was open.
In the beginning, I didn't like Angella that much. I thought she was annoying, overly controller of Glimmer and she didn't treat Adora very well (which, I have to admit, was understandable). But she
progressively proved how lovely of a mother she was, the reasons behind her overprotection, her fear to lose Glimmer just like she had lost Micah; she warmed up to Adora and ended up treating like her own, it was beautiful. I completely fell in love with her and I was so devastated when she sacrificed herself, her final scene with Adora brought me to tears. I cried a lot. Really. A lot.
About Micah, when Angella tels him that she remembered the truth, that he was actually dead, he tries to talk to her but ends up disappearing. After that l told @aifosstuff : He is alive. I bet he's in Beast Island and Entrapta is going to find him. Close enough.
Anyways, yes it is the same pose as #glimbow. It was the only one that would well represent their height difference, that btw, I think it adorable.
They are both have non-white people as their VA, so I believe that they are also not white
Please tell me ship names that mean something else!
As always, you can find the other fanarts on my Instagram page, I have a highlight with them all. It's the same user name.
And if you want to participate in the #pridewithsheraships don't forget to tag us so we can see your art as well.

Book of the Month ~ January
Check out my January pick for the book of the month! #bookblog #representation #diversity #diversebooks #pocrepresentation #localbookstore #smallbookstore #supportsmallbusiness
One of my goals for the year was to buy a book once a month and support my local bookstore. I love the place and most of my bookstagram pictures were taken there. I haven’t been borrowing my brother’s camera lately, hence the lack of photos, but I promise I’ll get back on it next month.
My pick for January is:

let’s talk about viola davis and julius tennons’ company juvee productions
Viola and Julius have a production company called JuVee Productions (created in 2012) especially to give voices to people of color.
“We started JuVee because we wanted to see narratives that reflected our multi-ethnic and multifaceted culture, we wanted to be a part of classic storytelling, and we didn’t want to wait.” -Viola Davis
Tumblr media
“We put this series together because we wanted to give artists a platform to share their experiences. It’s an important part of the inclusion conversation happening now in Hollywood that’s often overlooked…simply giving people the space to be heard,”
They’re fighting against inclusion and representation of people of color in media, on television or in films: “We’ve become the company that’s the voice to the voiceless. For us, everything is about inclusion." -Julius Tennon
Tumblr media
“The shift in storytelling should be inclusive and we aim to make it a reality,"  -Julius Tennon
Tumblr media
JuVee Productions according to its website, has a mission to create a space for people of color:
“With an emphasis on producing narratives from a diverse range of emerging and established voices alike, JuVee Productions aims to become the go-to creative hub where the next generation of filmmakers and artists have the space to craft dynamic stories spanning the broad spectrum of humanity.”
People of color needs more representation in media because they are not sufficiently recognize for their talents. We need more actors, actresses, and artists of colors who post web series or in different platforms.
"I know that i'm 51, i'm an African American actress of a certain hue, of a certain size and I know that I definitely would  not have reached this point in my career without people who had the vision and the scope to see my talent. So my production company is my way of giving back, of passing the baton on to other actors, voices like me. Cause that's the only way you're gonna slowly see change. I mean people talk about the diversity all the time, Oscars So White, all of that and  what's missing in all of that, is that individual's contribution to changing it. You can't change it by constantly criticizing it. You can"t change it if you don't plop down your money for a ticket to see one of those so-called "diverse" movies. And you can't change it if you're a studio exec and you're not greenlighting those stories. Then there will be no change. Because the talent is out there, the voices are out there" -Viola Davis about JuVee Production and #OscarsSoWhite

Okay, the reason why it's alright for a character that has been made white to be played by a poc is because there aren't many to begin with. There are far more white characters in the media than black ones. Imagine giving a kid 90 gum balls and then giving a kid right next to them 7 gum balls. Obviously taking a few gum balls from the kid with more would be like nothing to them. As taking pre existing white characters and having poc actors play them would be the same. #POCREPRESENTATION
if there aren't many it's the problem of the "POCS" (which i hate using because it's an extremely offensive and disgusting way to group people inside of, but that's for another day.). these "POCS" have more than enough chances to put theirselves in the media and yet they're the main ones complaining. i don't understand it.
secondly as i said before it's perfectly fine for a white character to get changed to a "POC", i don't care about that. but since you're claiming it can't be the same way around, there is no way we can just keep throwing white characters away  because they're "over represented" and just tell white people to suck it up. if you want a "POC" character that badly, just make one.
honestly, i don't give a single hoot about race. i don't care if a white gets changed to a "POC" or vice versa. unless the race of the character is very important to the plot (which 9x out of 10 it's not). i never said white characters weren't in abundance. all i said was that "POC" ones aren't this type or rarity to the universe.

Beware the Kitten Holy ~ Lumberjanes Vol. 1 (Book Review)
I finally got around to reading Lumberjanes, check out what I had to say about it! #bookreview #graphicnovel #allages #diversity #representation #diversebookblogger #blackgirlreads #lgbtqrep #pocrepresentation
So, I had no idea that Amazon Prime had books that you could get for free with it (thank you Goodreads).
Lumberjanes is one of those graphic novel series that just about everyone has talked about at one point or another and with good reason. Now I understand just why it’s so popular!

I'm 5 minutes into Fresh Off The Boat and I like it already. The kid (based on Eddie Huang) looks almost exactly like how I looked as a kid and I've never seen that on television before... I'm tripping. Representation matters. And 90's hip hop soundtrack is always welcome.

How could I forget to share this banner here 😅❓As I take baby steps in furthering the #Triadin tales, while also learning more and more about using #clipstudiopaint on my #Wacom #cintiq #companion, today I needed to take a pause and appreciate how impactful the community/ies I’m a part of have been, especially in recent months. I am humbled by the growth I am involving myself in, and the passion that has driven my principles since I was a child is only burning being hyper and hotter. #representation matters and that is why I intentionally chose not to include any [cis] white characters among the main cast of this story. I may elaborate on this decision, but if you’re looking for white leading roles,go mainstream- I’m here to dedicate my gifts and talents with those who need and deserve them the most. That is why Triadin exists, and it exists to honor, empower, inspire and connect our people, so we may all thrive together. My 2020 Watch-list
Check out what I'll be watching in 2020! #tvshows #diversetvshows #representation #diversity #grownish #pocrepresentation #pocrep
It’s no secret that I love watching TV, especially with all the representation I’m seeing on my screens. I made a watch-list last year and had a whole lot of fun doing it, so why not do one this year too?
My list has expanded quite a bit this year and I’m sure I’ll add more as the year goes on. These are just the TV shows I’m most excited to continue watching in 2020.
