Pokémon AU

Since I’ve been playing Shining Pearl recently, I got some ideas (oh no) where the McGees settle in the Old Chateau after having moved from region to region, which is haunted by Scratch

I haven’t quite figured if Scratch is a Rotom (with reference to the TV and that it’s a unique fellow there) or the run of the mill gastly line pokemon, but I’m leaning towards him being a Rotom

The usual things happen, he tries to haunt her and the fam to no avail, living in the house’s electrical supply (which is now unfortunately self supplied which means that he has no way out of this house), but since the ghost council is much lesser of a threat (unless you want to count the failed phantoms as Spiritomb and Darkrai as the council head), the curse doesn’t happen

Since the McGees have been moving around so much, both Darryl and Molly haven’t gotten their starters, though for Molly she doesn’t exactly mind since she’s not gunning for the league challenge or the professor’s work, and once Darryl gets in on the program it’s a Chimchar

Honestly I envision Molly more as a Pokémon ranger? I just can’t envision her with a specific Pokémon. Scratch ends up being her Rotom phone once she baits him with snacks and getting out of the house through her phone

Since she’s not interested in joining the league championship nor the contests, I kind of imagine Molly as someone who just wants to explore the region and make friends? A Pokémon ranger would definitely deliver that and would be kind of appropriate due to her inclination towards the outdoors and stuff? Also missions to calm the ghost Pokémon and solve problems and schemes?? Ya I sold myself to the idea of Pokémon Ranger Molly and her trusty Rotom Capture Stylus Scratch

Maybe it’s like a camp for the school, like the Wilder Scouts, so that’s how Molly gets hold of a capture stylus

I can’t really think of a bookshop in the Sinnoh region, but since Canalave City with the library is next to Jubilife where the school is, Libby lives in Canalave and the bookshop is near/is the library

Libby has two main pokemon: a Honchkrow (the family Pokémon which evolved after she had a lot of time on her hands), and a Turtwig (because turtles, and also colour match, they’re both green, fantastic). She’s also not interested in the league championship or the contests, but instead she intends to join the International Police under officer Looker in the future, and also wants to discover the secrets of Sinjoh

On a smaller note:

Andrea’s family owns the Veilstone departmental store and she advertises for it in the Jubilife TV station. She actually excels at the Pokémon contests and will advertise for the departmental store when she wins, and her starter is a piplup (since it’s an arrogant adorable penguin)

Does Team Galactic exist? Eh, undecided, but it would be cool to make it happen, where Molly ends up drawing circles to calm gods, Scratch is trying to power up the stylus as best as he can, and Libby is trying to figure out how to break the red chains while they buy time (and space lmao). How did they get to this point? Well it all started when trying to chase a theory…

Coming in on a bit of a busy day huh? Congrats, Americans. I’m so glad the right choice shone through. Also, if anyone tries to talk to me about what age’s Tony was in college: I’m bisexual so I don’t math, and  he has a lizard that breathes fire. We’re takin’ liberties.
