Fuukam. I don't really ship Fuuma seriously with anyone else. I guess I could bang ship him with some other X male characters (like one night stands simply for the thrill) but I can't ship him romantically with them. Just Kamui

In TRC I can't even see those bang ship options. So again, just Kamui.

His interactions with Seishirou in X were hilarious. I'd pay to watch Fuuma bother Seishirou everyday by looking like Subaru, rip off his wallet and crash at his place (and eat food) when Seishirou's not home. It'll be funny af to see their evil bastard convos where Fuuma's all 😏 #kinkshaming 😈 and Seishirou 😎 on surface but privately being like 'when will this kid leave me alone. Is this karma? 😟 will he stop looking like my prey while licking on that icecream so sensually? Ah what's with that smirk and - ah, he's kinkshaming me again 😑'

In trc I guess also with Seishirou since they're bastard brothers there. I'd so want to see shenanigans on beach and Fuuma surfing with Kurogane's arm while Seishirou is swimming in his priest outfit because god forbid anyone saw his younger brother has more shoulders. Also I'd so want to see Fuuma's and Kurogane's interactions, it'll be hilarious af to see Kuro being irked by Fuuma's fake smiles and carefree behavior.

Random headcanon:

X: ever since turning into antichrist, Fuuma sometimes keeps eye on Kamui from afar. Of course Kamui has no clue and Fuuma has no plan of using informations obtained while stalking to his gain. He doesn't even have malicious intent, he just deep down yearns for Kamui so much that sometimes he's unable to stay away. Fuuma knows their relationship is barely holding by threads and thay he can't just waltz up to Kamui and ask him how his day is going. He knows he must be strong and endure separation for sake of future and having Kamui go through realizations of his own.

Still, deep down Fuuma is aware of his own humanity. He can't stop the ache, he can't stop irrational yearning. So he watches from afar

TRC: since he's constantly on a run and travelling through dimensions alone, Fuuma sometimes worries about losing sense of identity. He barely forms long lasting bonds with people and has no family, hence feeling lonely and lost from time to time is inevitable. There's noone to reaffirm that something really happened and isn't fragment of his imagination

Hence in every world he settles in Fuuma purchases and finds trinkets on his own. Form older necklaces to compasses and ancient clock to even gemstones. Something that stores memories and reminders him of world he's been in and people he formed fleething conections with.

General opinion on said character:

X: I think Fuuma might be little underrated in fandom? Sure there are other side characters, but he's a main character and actually very very complex ar core. But I guess it comes down to fandom scratching their heads about his motives and what happened to him since that part is never explained in manga. We all have our headcanons and possible explanations but who knows what clamp has planned. Still, compared to Kamui, Seishirou and Subaru, I don't see TB/X fandom outside my mutuals circle talk about him very often...

you can't opt out of scans??!!

How dare i assume a usability option on a Niantic product was in fact as useful as it looked!! I am informed several times over now that this option to disable pokestop scanning, which i had not selected but had simply assumed would work, doesn't stop you from getting assigned the tasks, even though with that setting ticked it's impossible to complete them!

The coping strategy I already had was to get a scan task from a pokestop i visit frequently, and just leave it there for later so i don't get more scan tasks-- of course I was always getting them from stops I was absolutely never going to spin again, whether because I was traveling or because they're in an inconvenient spot I knew I was only ever going to bother getting to the one time out of completionism or whatever-- and that's apparently what you have to do when you disable scans. Just pick one up and leave it there because otherwise you get them every five seconds, *instead of* tasks you can actually do, *even though the program knows you cannot do this task because you have disabled it*.

Which really puts right out there how obvious it is that they really want you to have AR on and use your phone camera as much as possible. If you could just forget that scan tasks exist then even if you weren't wildly averse to doing them, you never would, because they're so time- and resource-intensive plus you sometimes die of mortification. But if they're still annoying even if you disable them, then you're more likely to give up and turn the feature back on, eh?

I've discovered that every single time I log out of PoGo, when I come back, it has disabled Adventure Sync and re-enabled the AR+ feature, and I'm trying to get in the habit every time I open the app of going and turning AR+ back off, because otherwise you go to catch a pokemon and there's no way to prevent it from turning on for a moment. Which I know is a way they get more data from you. And I mean, here I am, playing this incredibly invasive-of-privacy game, obviously I know they're getting data, but I really don't need them turning my camera on all the time when I've repeatedly asked them not to. But no! You have to re-disable it every time you log in.

Not exactly subtle.

It *does* tell me they don't get as much data out of Adventure Sync as they'd like, though. If you have the app open, they get more, so it not working well seems like a great way to encourage you to leave the app open more.

(Everyone knows, right, that if you're doing a task where you're stepping a lot but not covering much ground-- playing basketball, working in a kitchen, doing the ADHD Leg Bounce at your desk-- you should exit the app and let Adventure Sync count your steps, right? But if you're traveling at less-than-vehicle speeds (seems like up to about 10mph), you should have the app open, as it counts your "walking" by measuring distance since last ping.)

Pokemon Sleep

Got a new Growlithe that had better subskills than my old one.

I remember I changed the graphics to low and fps to 30 when I first tried the game because I wanted to lighten its load when recording sleep. Realized I don't need to do that when I have the PoGo Plus+ so I set it back to max/60. Wow that makes such a difference. Even just cooking is so much faster, which is a weird thing to tie to fps.

Soda Dungeon 2

Forgot to put yesterday that I beat Dimension 7.

Beat Dimension 8 today. Sorta by accident too. Just put them on a grinding run and when I checked back they defeated the dungeon boss.

Slice & Dice

Starting to get pretty good at getting to the last boss on normal runs.

It's very much a game that is "the only health that matters is your last one." If no one is dying this turn then just reroll to go all out offensive.

Poison has been king for a lot of runs too. One in particular I got an optional blessing that gave all allies and enemies 1 poison at the start of a battle. Luckily that was a custom mode run and I had 2 healers and 2 defenders so cleanse was readily available.

Crazy combo 1: Put duel on the 10 damage death skill. Did 20 damage + res from a healer + redo skill available but won the fight before use.

Crazy combo 2: Triple shuriken on Venom + an Artificer. Venom gave a crazy amount of poison with the single uses and the left skill ended up doing 20 on the dragon.

Episode 7 - We Find Out the Truth, Sort of

Percy and friends go through a bed salesman to get to the underworld. Charon stops them and calls Cerberus on them. Grover gets eaten and Annabeth soothes Cerberus. Grover gets spit out and they fly up over the wall. In the forest beyond the wall, Annabeth gets caught up in regrets and has to pearl out. In the desert beyond the forest Grover almost gets flung into Tartarus by his flying shoes. They discover the Master Bolt is in the bag Ares gave them. They go on to confront Hades. Turns out Hades is pretty decent and after a discussion, find he's not behind this whole thing, he just wants his hat. Then after realizing Kronos wants out, Hades does want the Bolt after all. They pearl out without Percy's mother. Ares comes to fight.

Oh also there's snippets of Percy and his mom from the past. We also get a first glimpse at Poseidon.

I really liked this episode. It's always cool how differently various media depict Hades (the place. I like to think they're all correct at the same time. Hades (the god) was pretty cool too. Simultaneously can't wait for the next episode and bummed that it'll be the end of the first season.

Ar Tonelico unplanned semi-liveblog?

So, I’ve been playing through Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia with @lazodiac​, and. Well, thought I’d liveblog-ish it? So, reactions to our last play session, of a chunk of the middle bit of a fifteen-plus-year-old PS2 game: commence.

This is picking up a bit of the way into the Aurica branch of Act 2.

(spoilers follow)

Revisting the Hexagonal Plate: Okay, little hints at what the Misha route would be like. Wonder what she needs that power cylinder for? I really like the thing this game is doing where the two character routes are “which of these characters are you helping on their character development and important plot missions” rather than “which team do you bring into the sole singular mission relevant to the plot” – things are happening where we’re not looking!

Aurica is suddenly unwell – oh, right, we didn’t dive to fix the hole in her mind back when we were first told about that! Except, um. We did, and it was just the regular dive, no plot stuff. Feels a bit awkward, that the game let us dive in the intervening section of sidetracking but then didn’t let us look into the issue, instead of closing off the shop to justify how we let things get worse.

On doing that plot-dive... well, I’m not sure I trust this. On the one hand, “this character is a reincarnation/descendant of divinity” feels pretty cliche here and this is absolutely the sort of game that would play it straight... on the other hand, everything we’ve previously seen about the hole-in-her-mind has been in relation to Mir, the main villain, and the viruses she controls (or at least sends? uses?) getting into Aurica’s head (unless some of that was just whichever character sings EXEC_PURGER/. getting hijacked? but even if so, there was still the bit at the weather control stuff), which makes this feel falsified, too cliche, likely a plot. And I have been moderately spoiled by seeing a localization shift: that Mir is called Mule in the Japanese, and we know that Aurica’s Hymn Code is MULE_TEIWAZ_ARTONELICO. So that seems relevant to the hole, and Mir getting into Aurica.

Divert a bit to progress the Cosmosphere and get some more magic.

Aurica Cosmosphere, Level 6: Okay, this is the most blatantly horny the game has got. No, Aurica, you are too horny, cold shower! And... that’s not a good ending. Not confident the Angel Aurica is any better here, just differently bad and being too forceful about insisting on it. Would note that Kari Wahlgren seems to be doing the same voice here for Horny Aurica as she’s previously used for interventions in lower-level dives by Demon Aurica.

Some crafting to round it off:

Aurica’s made a Dokkoi Parfait, that is, she made a parfait out of a Dokkoi Set and a carton of milk. A Dokkoi Set, looking at the art, appears to be a full three-course dinner; there’s meat and potatoes and omurice and a bit of salad and a little bowl of maybe-soup and what looks to be an entire whole (small) roast fish. And she made a parfait.

Also she made Lyner a hand-knitted sweater with a big heart on it. (High elemental resistance, worse stats otherwise than the hakama she made the last time something like this happened) He’s feeling embarrassed by this, but... come on, Lyner. You don’t have room to talk, you’re going bringing Aurica into combat encounters in a teddy-bear-lion costume. Though also, I am suddenly reminded of that one Citation Needed bit on “the Sweater Curse”:

Yet More Ar tonelico!

Last time: cooldown from the culmination of a plotline, and then everyone coming together to Fix That Airship Lyner Crashed At The Start Of The Game And Then Sort Of Abandoned In The Woods.

(okay, sure, the mayor of that small village whose name I forget said he'd keep an eye on it, but still)

(all this was before I started liveblogging/LPing it)

Anyway. Then we went off alone with Aurica (not like that, you) and found that she was in fact very annoyed about the outfit we'd put her in (a towel, so, fair, what the heck Gust). And now we're there, or a hill (Monument Hill) near there!

Nice place. Roamed around a bit, nothing much came up (just random encounters and barely-hidden treasure), and in fact going here was completely optional. But there's enough of a map we'd probably have to come back anyway.

So it looks like I'm dipping my toe back into original fiction and doing a sequel to my old series from the early 2000s.

Ars Magna: Reign is me taking all that craziness from my college days, and applying all my experience and the like retraining myself to write again, to turn the above into the fuel for an adult former 'magic girl' to turn her experience, traumas, and power around and go after her enemies.

What I find interesting about filters for AR photos is that less is usually more. I wanted to make these look more... Intense or dramatic, but it didn't really work out. Maybe with a different photo editor, idk.
