So far, so good over here *knocks furiously on wood*, things have held up thus far in the cold. Yesterday I was able to finish writing chapter 2 of the long dormant Outlander!Theron fic, which felt like an accomplishment after five years of writer's block. Thanks to a pot of my beloved tea, today I was able to expand my beat sheet out to skeleton outline two more chapters. I count that as good progress, and will happily see where the muse leads me tomorrow next.
I'm not sure yet if I'm going to wait until I actually finish off a full first draft of this one to start posting like I did with Chance Encounters, or maybe do more of a "post as I go" type scenario. I think I'll probably at least wait until I get the full bones down of the beast, that way I don't wind running up against an unexpected road block like with that other unnamed story.
But since I've been productive and whatnot, I think I shall boot up into a game. It's been a few days since I powered poor Ben through content in his quest to flirt with Rass. You would think with Double XP, that I'd spend my time creating or leveling a new baby toon. But the hearts wants what it wants I suppose.
#look i'm literally sitting on my hands not rolling up and power leveling another grey clone#i should be applauded for my restraint#i keep forgetting tomorrow is christmas eve#and that i probably won't get anything done then#but it's been fun to kind of get my head back into the space of this au#you would think basically pre-writing the chapters would kill the urge to actually write it#but honestly it helps because i don't have to remember where i'm going#and can just loll around in the feels#wip stuff

live blog under the cut
Heads up about half way through I realized I go a bit further into analysis on where Zolf & the Kobolds are mentally than some people might be comfortable with. Just as they trust us to back off if the episode gets to real, I am trusting you to close the tab if my little live blog is hitting you wrong. If it makes a difference I have years between me and the reason I relate to this stuff.
"In Memorium" they are trying to kill us Ah they lampshaded the speed intros Yes Alex it is rather Paris Right to Azu & Zolf. Oh he's jumping right in. And there's my first pause of the episode. No “better” isn't a magic finish line you pass then never find yourself in that place again. No, knowing that doesn't mean you don't wonder if your back at square one every time you realize You Are In A Bad Place and Not Handling it Well. Gosh Azu is good at this. Yeah learning to walk away is hard. Learning to ignore the part of yourself that says "and never come back for their sake" is harder. Symbolic much Alex (Zolf is too small for the room, Azu is too large) Yeah it would be easier to not blame Zolf for last episode if I related to him a bit less. Okay they are talking about Hamid and their concerns for him directly. Yeah Hamid's relationship with power & privilege is an arc; and without the Doylist level of trusting Bryn & Alex, I can see where even if you trust/like him you'd be worried about it. With the best of intentions people misuse power. Azu quoted Grizzop at Zolf. Didn't name him, wonder if Zolf is ever going ask directly about his replacement in canon or if its best left to fic. Its easy to dismiss one's own successes. Okay fair and OW, Zolf isn't up to talking about Sasha; which is the part of this I was most prepared for. Hell yeah! He is coming down but not going to be attempting to lead so as to relieve pressure on himself. Maybe if he can let Hamid step up without making a Kew Garden thing he'll see how much he's grown. Hopefully without that setting off a "Hamid does better without me" thing. Yeah intellectual knowledge and it feeling real on an emotional level are very different things. Alex, why does it matter what order they are in? ALEX? The necklace? The Heart of Aphrodite shaped necklace? Azu got a Sign from Aphrodite approving of her reaching out to Zolf as an act of love. Yes! Blue Black no take backs! Yeah those two (players) know exactly what they are doing: breaking my heart in the best ways and not skipping over the actual work those two (characters) need to put into their relationship with OOC "its all fine now"s. Ok that settles the timeline, Azu went up same night, the device isn't made yet. Yeah Zolf wouldn't, probably best to back off while things are tender while being present enough to assure he isn't planning on leaving. Seriously bless Azu, this has to be at least as hard on her as Helen but she is letting the boys have room to work it out for themselves instead of "trying to help". The last thing either of them need right now is pressure especially on this point. Aw the Kobolds teach Cel draconic. Oh smart kid, not only is it just logical for the Kobolds to work with Cel directly, it might help them get over the "looking to see if the boss approves of how you breathe" stage. Especially if he is clear about not being threatened by them having advantage over him in this area. Heck of a relief this isn't hitting my rank issues. Ooh all the Kobolds are amazing engineers, wonder if its a Kobold thing or if Skraak recruited people with similar interests. Nice rework of the "Kobolds build traps" thing from pathfinder. I genuinely love how instead of pitching the original description of Kobolds out the window, Alex has backwards engineered it. Reputation for traps isn't a dishonorable approach to fighting, its a sign of their skill. They aren't minions, their trauma is interacting with a cultural attitude about rank in weird ways. Oh Cel! Cel is amazing. Under Shoin's orders they: made Magic Steroids, did maintenance (more towards the end as Shoin wasn't taking care of things), built the place initially, sourced ingredients, other Kobolds built the Mechkraken. Damn Shoin, they can't even be proud of all they were able to do in adverse circumstances because he tainted it. If they weren't forced to do it and have it used for ill ends, building the kraken would be impressive. A lot of that sounds like difficult work. Hamid stuff: yeah it is from a place of fear; and they would be hypersensitive and need to try to "defend him" so he doesn't react. Terrified of his anger? Handle anything that even annoys him to cut it off at the pass. And being a good person who doesn't like scaring them, Hamid is going to over do the very "Mary Sunshine" routine that makes Zolf think he doesn't appreciate the gravity of the situation. You'd think Mr "do a grief later" would get that Hamid doesn't have to walk the halls wailing to be aware of the end of the world. Not that the kid can win, if he cried and threw up it would be proof he hasn't grown from season one. Hopefully by taking a back seat Zolf will have a chance to see Hamid's actions and realize being chipper & wholesome doesn't mean stupid. Oh Alex has thought this through, one of these days I'll quit being surprised he actually gets this stuff. Not being able to read the person whose emotions feel like life & death is a Bad Thing. Thank Alex for Skraak. Weird seeing this stuff from this side, of course learning to focus on my end instead of being preoccupied with what was going on in the heads of people who were on Hamid's end of it was rather the point. Perfect balance, Hamid gives them enough space to realize he isn’t going to explode, Skraak "translates" into something clear enough not to stress them out. Like when Zolf snapped at Skraak when he pledged to Hamid; might not be pretty but not knowing what The Powers That Be want? Very bad place. Rank and clear orders are very important when appeasing those who outrank you is everything. Cel has dealt with a lot of young and unsure apprentices!?! Yeah well Cel isn't in their chain of command and gears don't get offended if you have an opinion on the right way to configure them. Cel is great Azu & Hamid talking about Zolf! Helen is wonderful! I thought this was going to be drawn out and indirect, instead they are actually facing things head on and dealing with them. Aw these two are so good for each other. Azu would set aside her own emotions. Hot damn Azu, getting right to it! Hamid can be amazingly open about his self awareness and it surprises me every time. It fits him and is a very good thing, but going from answering "how are you?" with "the Kobolds are doing well" to "I never knew how to help him" without it being jarring made me do quite the double take. Guess I was expecting more deflection. Yeah well you two are redefining your boundaries, entire relationship, and rank in specific, while being the perhaps the only people with enough of the picture to figure out how to save the world. Working out the balance between conflicting views on that, when neither of you knows what the end will look like was never going to be smooth. Oh yes and none of you have directly addressed that half of Zolf's rank & dick measuring stuff is because he doesn't know if he even has a role if he isn't The Boss or The Healer.* Oh the grin in Alex's voice as he tells them there is something else before the brorb interview. Whisky tumblers for each? Quite a sigh there Ben News? Big news? While they were in the institute? They ought to sit down. Wilde get to it. Ah Azu & Hamid are holding hands. Poor kid with his prop. Letter? Ancient Rome? Sasha? Are all the fics coming true? Their founder "Askingus"!?! Oh Sasha, oh Zolf! Lydia! Oh the kids! She named the kids after the party. She even found her faith. A break? How the hell are we only half way through the episode. Also hell yeah Lydia deserves all the awards, that was an amazing letter. XD Ben! Oh Hamid, we reacted that way to the epilogue that way too. It really is okay, it was a good end. Yeah he could use a drink. Poor Zolf. Hamid gives Wilde a hug. "technically I think that makes Sasha my boss". XP be cryptic Alex, The RSB will have it figured out by Friday. Ok Zolf got to read the letter on his own. Azu lit 3 candles, because Helen wants me to cry. Hamid is at Zolf's door with a bottle and two glasses. Lydia this is a compliment to your skill. More direct than I expected from Hamid. Oh these two! Okay he is drunk enough to go there (angry at Zolf for leaving but he gets it). About time someone told Zolf directly he's grown. Aw Zolf puts him to bed. Thank you Alex! Ben! (okay fair, if any of Hamid was left he'd cuddle). Sorry Cel! Lydia wanted to break/heal our hearts more than she wanted the plot to move forward ;) Good plan: take the orb to the anti magic field, only those who have already talked to it can talk directly. Info control. Hive mind/telepathy directly addressed. Finally what Shoin eats is addressed. Ok Cel has some teeth on them. Hasn't fed it, is using the vibration to threaten to explode his brain, (no English doesn't have enough pronouns we are working on it)... Oh good point better feed it. Aw Zolf is possessive of the kitchen. Shoin is still Shoin. Cel is not happy about not being recognized. Nice to hear the boys working together. The Infection might block him from being directly aware of being infected. Bullsh$% he backed himself up. Good point Zolf even if he does, they are separate lives, this instance can still fear death. Oh all the party have teeth, nice they don't have the "good guys have to be sweet & gentle with the baddies" thing Yeah Cel isn't stupid, the brorbs arm isn't a threat. Oh auto painting that will make the people theorizing on the bio side of how the Brorb works happy. A circulatory diagram, and am ocean of faces. Paints like a printer. A creepy charcoal sketch of London staring at the artist. *I swear on Rusty Tower if they let him hurt himself any worse because he thinks his new role is "a brick wall on wheels" I am joining the line to fight Ben in a Whetherspoons parking lot. Yes it would be in character but so would healing. There are other hills. Although seriously its been great having a character that shows so many of the aspects of depression that usually get left out. That Zolf is also a three dimensional character with a full personality beyond just "the one with mental health issues" while not making it look like those issues are tacked on or easy to handle? Stunning work.

All numbers divisible by 3, 5, or 7?
Ugh, math at three in the morning? XP
3: What season finale was your favorite/least favorite?
Hm. I really can’t pick a favorite, simply because every season finale is either bittersweet or very obviously leading Somewhere Bad. For the complexity, I’d have to say Swan Song is the leader, just barely edging out “Do You Believe In Miracles”. Least favorite is definitely season twelve, if only because it felt so sloppy and kind of rushed.
5: Which episode makes you cry the most?
I actually can’t answer that as I still haven’t seen all of the episodes, and my reasons for crying vary between gutpunch and rage, so… I dunno. We’ll see.
6: Which episode was the funniest to you?
Hands down, 6.9, “Clap Your Hands If You Believe”! XD
7: What’s your opinion on Megstiel?
Probably my favorite canon pairing for Castiel, and I’m sorry we didn’t get to see that explored more in the show.
9: Which episode title do you think is the funniest?
Tough choice there! I think I’m going to go with “Are You There, God? It’s Me, Dean Winchester”. Sorry, Dean-o, Margaret you are not.
10: What’s your opinion on Garth?
Answered that one!
12: Who is your favorite angel?
Castiel, though Gabriel is a close second!
14: What’s your opinion on Wincest?
You do know they’re brothers, right? ^_~ In all honesty, I can see it about as well as any ship for either brother, but I have to be in a certain mood for it and it needs to be handled with the utmost consent on both sides.
15: What’s your opinion on Lisa? (And Ben, if you want)
Lisa could have been great, both as a character and for Dean. I think the biggest problem was that she and Dean alway seemed to come together when they both needed different things from each other, and when Dean tried to be what Lisa was looking for it kept rubbing up against the fact that what he needed most wasn’t her. Both she and Ben were badly harmed, not by Dean being in their lives, but by his inability to be wholly in their lives because part of him was still on the road and in the Hunt, and by his repeating Mary’s mistake of “living normal” meaning no protections against the baddies he knew damn well were out there and would happily come a’calling for their pound of Winchester flesh, which he also knew could happen considering Adam Milligan lost his life to ghouls who wanted revenge on John Winchester for his killing their parent. Erasing her memory was a dick move and will in no way protect her from anything because sometimes it doesn’t matter what a person knows or feels for someone else, but what the bad guys think they know or feel– or know the first person feels for them. Overall, two great characters who were poorly handled by “plot”.
18: Do you have a favorite Dick (Roman) joke?
Probably a line from @rodiniaorzetalthepenquin ‘s fic Out Of Purgatory, “After you and Cas disappeared in a shower of exploding Dick….” (Go read it, it’s great!) Although Sam’s line about Dean using his computer for “More anime, or are you strictly into Dick now?” is priceless canon material. XD
20: Who do you ship Sam with?
Consent! (Also Castiel, Dean, Gabriel, Michael, Chuck, Anna, Max Banes…. XD Yeah, I think it would be easier to list who all I don’t ship Sam with. ^_^U)
21: What’s your opinion on Destiel?
Thanks, I hate it. No, really, you want to hear an unpopular opinion? Destiel in canon makes as much sense as the Joker and Harley Quinn, and is just as abusive and unhealthy. Harley should go be with Poison Ivy and Castiel should go be with Sam and leave the Joker to laugh at his own bad jokes somewhere he can’t hurt them anymore. Could it work? Maybe if Dean got a shitton of real, actual therapy and pulled his head out of his ass, or in an AU scenario, but as far as canon goes? Their friendship is already unhealthy enough and you want to add sex into it? (And let’s face it, most Destiel shippers do.) Thank you, please exit to the left, goodbye! (It takes a really careful handling and really fucking great writing to get me to read it, and you had better be bribing me with something amazing if you want me to write it.)
24: Do you read smutty fanfiction?
Not as much as I might if there were more of the pairings I want to read. As it is, the fics for my preferred pairings usually lend themselves more to plot than porn, with some notable exceptions.
25: Do you think Destiel will become canon in season 9? (Regardless of whether you want it to or not)
I really don’t. Oh, they’ll throw in some teasing here and there, but it would take the series ending for good before Dean, Castiel, OR Sam gets a canon relationship they can keep.
27: Which episode is the scariest to you? (Horror-movie type scary)
“The Benders”. As Dean put it, “Monsters I get. People are crazy.”
28: What’s your opinion on Sabriel?
I like it a whole lot better than Destiel, which really makes it frustrating considering how many times that pairing is used to “pair the spares” and give Destiel writers a couple of shipping cheerleaders. That said, there are Issues with the pairing itself that stem from canon, “Mystery Spot” in particular. Healthy communication and closure, or even just serious canon divergence is necessary for this ship to sail strong, but it can be done and done well! The frustration is still just as strong whenever it’s handled poorly or Sam’s very real and valid trauma is brushed aside or ignored. They both deserve better than haphazard narrative.
30: Do you have any friends off of the internet that watch Supernatural?
Sure do! At least three that I know of, including @jupiterjames , and probably a few more who don’t talk to me about it because they know why I didn’t go near Supernatural for years.
33: Do you like AU fanfics?
Sure! I usually have to be in a certain mood for them, and there are some AU scenarios I just can’t get on board with, but that’s a matter of personal preference just like any other aspect of fanfic.
35: What’s your opinion of Samifer?
Creepy and terrifying and an absolutely brilliant job of acting by Jared, both in “The End” and in “Swan Song”. (I would not ship them in a box, I would not ship them wearing socks, I would not ship them here or there– I WOULD NOT SHIP THEM ANYWHERE!!)
36: If you have an OTP, at what point did you start shipping it?
From the first moment I realized that it was possible to ship them, I have shipped Sastiel.
39: Which actor would you most like to meet in real life?
I’m told that Jared’s hugs are not to be passed up if given the opportunity, but in all honesty I want to meet Felicia Day. <3
40: If you could be any character on the show, would you want to? If so, whom? If not, why?
Answered that one!
42: What is your opinion on Sastiel?
You found my OTP! (Hey, you know me!)
45: What’s your favorite moment from any of the gag reels?
Answered that one!
48: What’s an unpopular ship you have?
If by unpopular you mean I ship I have that just really doesn’t have a lot of content, probably Samichael or Sam/Chuck.
49: What’s your opinion on Wincestiel?
Dean needs so much therapy…. ~is jabbed in the ribs~ Uh, I mean, yes! I ship that! It’s actually tied with Casabriel for my OT3.
50: Can you dig Elvis?
Leave the poor man to his rest, huh?
51: Do you listen to Carry On Wayward Son even when you’re not just watching a finale?
Sure, it comes on the radio plenty of times.
54: Do you think Sam should have completed the Trials?
Honestly, that’s a difficult one to answer. On the one hand, it’s entirely possible that closing the Gates of Hell would have been another “Nice Job Breaking It, Hero” moment this series is so fond of, creating a backup of damned souls with nowhere to go like we saw happen with Heaven, and it’s a popular theory that the two sets of Trials would mirror each other. However, I actually don’t think that the spell Metatron used to close Heaven’s Gates was even close to the real Heaven Trials, nor would it be in any way the same as the one for closing Hell’s Gates. We won’t know for sure, because Sam didn’t finish them, but Metatron’s spell ejected all the angels. Pretty sure Kevin would have seen if the Trials to close Hell were going to eject all the demons, considering he was banking heavily on all the demons being locked away so he could go home and not have to worry about Crowley and his demons breathing down his neck. That said, the Demon Trials were definitely taking their toll on Sam, but it’s all speculation as to whether that was because the Trials were killing him because that was the Trials, or because Sam’s demon blood was reacting badly to the influx of Power, or what. That’s up to fanfic authors to explore, but since canon didn’t take us in that direction we’ll probably never know.
55: How long would you survive as a hunter?
I’d do well enough, provided I wasn’t a victim of unfriendly fire, ie other hunters coming after me because they’re extremist assholes. I’d do better as part of the support system, running a hunters’ bar/restaurant and information network and phone tree.
56: What’s your opinion on Calthazar?
Balthazar deserved better than to be stabbed in the back by a Hell-corrupted Castiel.
57: Do you have a Netflix account? If so, what’s your username and password? Wait a second, just the first part.
I have no idea what the family Netflix username is since I’m usually not… using it? At all? Because my kids take over the television to watch Paw Patrol and Bubble Guppies and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood?
60: If you could change just one thing about the series, what would it be?
Fire BuckLemming.
63: What’s your opinion on Sam/Crowley?
I could see it happening, maybe. Crowley certainly respects Sam. The problem is that after Ruby and the continuous Sam-shaming over her that Dean/fandom does, Sam is really not keen to get involved with another demon like that, especially not after some of the things Crowley’s done to Sam and to people Sam cares about. Work with him as a wary ally, yes, but a relationship? Highly doubtful outside of AUs.
65: What’s your favorite (or at least a memorable) pop culture reference that has been made on the show?
Dean calling Sam “Velma”, particularly after Scoobynatural where we got canon Salma. Jinkies! XD
66: Just a random confession you have regarding the show/Asker makes up their own question.
I most likely would have continued to not watch this show if I hadn’t been drawn in by the fanfic first, and indeed actually started watching the show so I wouldn’t be breaking my own rules of not writing fanfic for a fandom for which I haven’t seen the source material when I inevitably gave in to the plot bunnies nipping at my vulnerable brain.

‘Marvel’s Spider-Man’ is an immersive, web-slingin’ masterpiece
Look out! Here's comes the Spider-Man!
Image: Insomniac
The highest compliment I can pay to Marvel's Spider Man is also the simplest: it makes me feel like I'm Spider-Man. Not sitting on my couch playing Spider-Man, I feel like Spider-Man. Everything from the ease of Marvel's Spider Man's controls, to its soundtrack, to the immersive New York environment comes together in the game to create a fully believable Spider-Man story and places players directly in the middle of the action.
As Spider-Man, I can do whatever Me-Spidey wants. I can spend a few minutes checking Twitter or investigate a lead with Mary Jane Watson. I can stop by to visit Aunt May or do a little web-assisted sightseeing. If I pick up some noise on a police scanner it's entirely up to me if I want to go stop that mugging or kidnapping, and when I finally put my controller down...it feels like I've done my part to patrol the city as a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
SEE ALSO: Amazing 'Spider-Man' gameplay trailer features its best character: New York City
That's A Big Apple
As a New Yorker I was concerned about how "real" Spider-Man's city was going to feel. I wouldn't have been happy if there weren't at least a few indications that this was truly the New York of Marvel comics, layered on top of the city I know and love.
Luckily, the open world of Marvel's Spider-Man is a gorgeous blend of reality and comic-book fiction, where Washington Square Park sits just a few blocks away from Dr. Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum, and Avengers Tower stole One World Trade's thunder as the tallest building in Manhattan.
One of the game's collection quests involves getting pictures of some of New York's famous landmarks (and a few of Marvel's), which is an excellent way to get players to pay attention to the level of detail in the city — but don't get too caught up on only taking pictures of the big stuff. Some places aren't marked on the map and still reward XP for "Secret Location" pictures. Happy snapping.
It's hard to resist smack-talking the criminals, even if Peter's already doing it for you.

Meet Peter Parker
The best thing Marvel's Spider-Man does for Peter Parker is set the game eight years after his origin story (RIP Uncle Ben). In bypassing all of Pete's familiar beats, the game allows the player to take control of a seasoned, slightly cocky Spidey who's at the top of his game straight out the gate.
Peter as a main character is completely delightful. He's high-energy, very chatty, and so responsive to his environment that I often found myself talking back to him as he commented on his surroundings, made bad puns, and motormouthed his way through battles (one funny boss fight has the villain literally beg Spidey to stop talking. He doesn't.)
Making Peter a likable character —someone who feels more like a friend than a player avatar— is key in this game, because the plot really puts poor Pete through the ringer. His character development and emotional journey is much more interesting when people care about what happens to this version of Peter Parker, and it's hard not to care when he's so dang charming.
Web-Slingin' Good
The web-slinging mechanics in this game are nothing short of magical from the moment they're introduced.
The web-slinging mechanics in this game are nothing short of magical from the moment they're introduced. The learning curve for figuring out how to swing, release, and slingshot Spidey around the city is super small, so much so that I think the mechanics do a little too much of the heavy lifting required to make Spidey look cool.
Swinging also feels incredible in this game — the gentle rumble of the controller when Spidey is at the bottom of an arc is a nice touch, and the way the camera snaps and pans around when he puts a flippy flourish on a particularly well-timed jump is downright cinematic.
Hot New Dance Craze: Beating People Up
Marvel's Spider-Man thankfully bucks the trend of having a 100-page combat moves list in favor of having a few standard abilities that get better and more powerful as you play. Spidey can punch/kick someone, dodge around or under them, shoot webbing at them, and (this was my personal favorite) yank them up into the air and just absolutely destroy them in aerial combos.
That's not to say that the combat is simple. Each of those basic skills can be upgraded through the game, so a simple web shot to the face at the beginning can become a full-body web bind that turns enemies into human wrecking balls when spun, or an aerial combo can launch into an endlessly fun game of "come up here and fight me like a spider," as mook after mook is yanked up and smacked down.
Combat becomes even more fun when gadgets are involved. There are electric webs, deployable drones that help Spidey out, tripmines, a suspended gravity matrix that really ruins a bad guy's day, and way more. Using the gadgets in conjunction with Spidey's move set turns each fight into a quippy, graceful battle-dance. Getting it right looks awesome.
Rhino is...very large in this game. Real big.

Big Bad Bosses
Here's the thing: the boss fights in Marvel's Spider-Man are visually and stylistically dope. Each major villain in the game gets at least one set piece that showcases their dastardly skills and no two fights require the same strategy. However, I found that some of the game's bigger moments, many of which have shown up in gameplay trailers, are played via quicktime events.
To the game's credit, the transitions between straightforward combat and Telltale-ish quicktime battles is very smooth. There are some clever uses of it in some of the neighborhood crimes, and those feel earned because they're capped at the end of a regular battle.
But when the big stuff happened— and there are a lot of huge, blockbuster moments in this game — I did feel a bit miffed that my participation was reduced to timing a button press to the rhythm of an onscreen fight as opposed to actually fighting. Only a little bit, though. The story payoff was usually worth it.
It's The Little Things
Huge boss battles aside, a lot of the charm of the game comes from what happens outside of the main plotline, when Spidey is free to explore some of the small scale duties of being a hero. Marvel's Spider-Man smartly weaves in moments where Pete doesn't have a lot to do and goes on patrol, which can mean scanning for petty crime, taking some pictures, or following through on one of several side or collection quests.
Those smaller quests end up being important because they award different tokens that can be used to upgrade gadgets or suits (more on the suits in a minute), but they also have some interesting plot developments of their own. One of them leads directly into the first announced DLC for Marvel's Spider-Man and has to do with Black Cat, the others I'll try not to spoil.
Some of these smaller quests have payoffs beyond collecting tokens or unlocking a new suit, but not all of them. I wish that they all had some kind of cutscene or extra reward and a few times had a "that's it?" reaction to finishing a quest, but some of them have surprisingly poignant emotional beats.
No texting and web-swinging, Spidey.
Image: insomniac
Suit Up
Marvel's Spider Man's suit crafting and customization system is way more involved than I expected. Materials collected through the game can be exchanged for new Spidey suits, each of which comes with a special suit power and three slots for further customization.
There are thousands of possible combinations that can tailor the Spidey suit to any style of gameplay.
Those four customization options may not seem like a lot of variety, but there are thousands of possible combinations that can tailor the Spidey suit to any style of gameplay. I was delighted that after unlocking enough powers I could build a suit that looked like the one from Spider-Man: Homecoming, had a high resistance to bullet damage, helped me find secret photo opportunities, and let me use an electric guitar to knock people down with the power of rock (not joking, that's a suit power, it's dope).
So Much More
I've tried to stay vague in this review because a lot of the joy of Marvel's Spider-Man comes from experiencing the fantastic moments in real time. It's common knowledge by now that Miles Morales appears in the game, but to say anything about how and why would take away from how freaking cool it is when he appears. There are some twists I didn't see coming, others I saw from a mile away, and enough action and heart in between to make the game experience more than worth it.

Final Fantasy XV (First Impressions) Review
You know, I got Final Fantasy XV on the assumption that it’ll help me back on the PS4. I was practically devoting my time to the juggernaut of a gaming PC I built, that the poor black box on my shelf wasn’t getting enough of the attention I gave it back when I played Phantom Pain on it during my college days not too long ago. I wasn’t sure why else I bought it: I was never able to beat any Final Fantasy game before this one, so there was a possibility that it would tank from my gaming queue. Sure as hell didn’t turn out that way, judging by the hours atop hours I’ve played per day. Hell, I even beat the game not too longer after I bought it. But I’m not about to parade the rooftops and sing this games praises just yet. It’s probably not even my most favorite game, although it’s sort of up there, I admit. It’s a complicated relationship.
The story starts off stronger than most recent FFXV games, in that it doesn’t dump a whole bunch of stringy narrative threads all over the place. You play as Noctis, princely heir to the throne of the nation of Lucis, who must traverse the land and build up his royal magic with his three comrades, Ignis, Prompto, and Gladiolus, reunite with his fiancée Luna, and take the fight back to the Niflheim empire that had conquered his homeland. Like I said, that is as complicated as the story gets in XV, and I think that has something to do with the fact that Final Fantasy XIII, the previous single player game in the franchise, was critically not a very good game and was also mired in a confusing narrative, and Square Enix wanted to distance themselves from that for marketing reasons. I mean, the opening sequence starts the game proper with, and I’m not kidding here, a cover of Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me” as the title logo fades in. Right away, it tells you straight up that this isn’t your mom and dad’s Final Fantasy.
And it it’s as different as it gets, when compared to previous games in the series. Rather than having a hybrid action RPG style of gameplay, XV uses something called the Active Cross Battle system, which simply boils everything down an action game with RPG elements. I personally think makes the combat so much better than more of the alter games in the series. For one thing, commands are mapped directly on the controller for attacking, defending, and dodging, and Noctis has a whole suite of commands and abilities that are useful, but never feel too complicated to use in battle, like having his friends utilize their own special attacks or warp to a vantage point out of harm’s way to get a better look at the battle below. The battle system is solid, but not without a few nagging issues. For one, certain areas don’t really serve the battle system well, like cramped spaces and corridors or areas with a lot of obstructive, like trees and large rocks. Sometimes it’s hard to tell when to attack or when to block, especially when you can’t really see if an enemy is winding up an attack right behind you. Another thing is that there are special spells called summons, which call upon certain deities to aid you in battle. Provided they even decide to show up, because there doesn’t seem to be a way to tell when you can be able to summon them, or how long the cool down to summon another god is, and since they only show up when you’re really in deep trouble, you could probably get through the whole game without having to summon a deity, if you’re good enough.
The game is also, separating itself from Final Fantasy XIII, the game is mostly open world, with plenty of ways to get around and plenty of side quests and monster hunts to partake in. You can get around in the Regalia, your stylish car, or you can rent some of the classic Chocobo mounts, or you can rough it on foot to hunt for materials, bulk up your hunter rank by going on hunt mission for cash, search for hidden dungeons and go out fishing, and you can crash at the local motel and count up your XP and Ability points, that you can use to increase your stats, unlock new abilities, and make you and your crew much more formidable. The adventuring around the open world and the quirky interactions with the main four are what I think really kept me playing to the end. There’s a lot of streamline, yet rewarding tasks to uptake, and the multitude of traveling options, including the classic fast traveling, make things snappy and straightforward enough to keep your interest.
And that’s not even considering the cast of Noctis and his pals. The palaver that they share make them feel a lot more human than Final Fantasy XIII’s cast, at least. One event really helps this point, where Prompto makes a comment about a seaside restaurant being romantic, and the other three, including the usually professional Ignis, tease Prompto about how he’s in such a romantic place with his three manly friends. They’re penchant for showing concern and ripping on each other makes the traveling, the fighting, and even the down moments of the guys camping in the woods much more enjoyable. Noctis is a lot more capable and human than most people give him credit for. He can get stoic, and he gets bratty every now and then, but it’s not like that’s just the way he is, and it’s not like he doesn’t have an actual personality. He has the weight of the world on his shoulders, the responsibility to his kingdom, and his lineage, to fight against the evil that’s plaguing the world. he regularly jokes with his friends out in the wild, and had come to tears on more than one occasion because of the situation he’s in, which is a lot more than I can say for most protagonists in many video games nowadays. One scene way at the end of the credits, really shows how much he cares about his world and his friends. They aren’t the most complex of characters, and the story isn’t that deep to help them out with that, but the four boys in this party really show that they had a lot of care in their creation.
Although going back to the story, it starts to fold in on itself way later, especially when the story reaches Chapter 13. I won’t spoil anything, but I will say that the story takes a massive halt, but also takes three steps ahead of us, and I was personally left wondering why the game hadn’t properly explained anything going on in this chapter, especially considering that a lot of important events in the plot apparently took place off screen. I personally didn’t mind that this chapter started to get linear later, but the fact that so many things happened off the story’s watch is just unjustified. It didn’t help that the game also takes your weapons and party members away for this portion of the story as well. Now that I think about it, too much story wasn’t good for the previous games, but not enough story, or having players piece together what should have been explained outright, is in some ways worse. As of writing, Square Enix has addressed the problem, and are even going as far as to create all new scenes and record all new dialogue to make the chapter more palatable, so it shows that SE is dedicated to their product, but only time will tell if these new scenes will but the kick back in the story’s step.
Along with the news of added content and support for the game, like the recently announced Episode Gladiolus and Episode Prompto DLC, the design skins for the Regalia, the Chocobo races, the fantastic-looking food that boosts your stats, and all the other little feature and gameplay elements that are just quick but impactful enough to keep you in the experience, there’s just something about this game that just drew me in. The story is fine, although a bit dry at times, and the combat is just fluid enough to work with, even though it can fall flat at times. But the groundwork that all that is built upon is solid, and the overall experience is done well enough that I really would consider it one of my favorite games of all time. It’s hard to pin down what exactly got me hooked on the game, and I admit that it’s not a game for everyone, but I personally had a great time with the game, and as it continues to be reworked and built upon with upcoming DLC, you know I’m gonna dive back into the main story when everything is said and done.

Cuddles (Kylux)
((OOC: sorry guys, have been feeling under the weather for the past 3 days of my 3 day weekend and i wanted to write something that mayyyybe would be a one shot between hux and kylo oTL so...enjoy? Idk. That and I really wanted to write Kylux for my Fiancee @cefinnuelle aaaaaaand also after looking at @pidgy-draws I kind of wanted to do a hurt/comfort/sickfic .....mostly i think because i’ve been sick xP idk....i’ll just shush up and get writing gay space husbands lolol aaaalso sorry, i didn’t want to write typical Starwars ....so....coffee shop au? New york au? idk...enjoy oTL ))
Between the sniffling and coughing all night ren couldn’t decide whether he wanted to leave the room or just end his husbands suffering. A cut to the throat would be just fine, however if he did that then he wouldn’t have someone to hold him at night. Poor hux was always weak when it came to the change of seasons and was plagued with a case of the common flu that was going around the neighborhood that they had moved into as of late. Hell, even his younger brother “Techie” wasn’t spared from it through the week and this is probably where he picked it up from, visiting him in his time of need (even if it was for only thirty minutes).
Ren turns over and holds his husband across the shoulders, spooning him. “Hux...?”
In a stuffy, hoarse voice hux turns his head slightly at the darker haired man. “Ren let me sleep. Long day...” he groans, pulling his partners arm around him, pulling the darker haired man on-top of him with a slight grunt.
“Hux! .....Hux....let go....” He whispers, trying to pull away. After five minutes of struggling to have his partner let go of his arm, he sighs and looks at his partners pale features. “Hux you overgrown man child...let go.” He succumbs to the later of the night and sighs, falling asleep holding his partner as he was pardoned to do.
------
The passing light on the sun against their window gave the signal that it was now day time, the start of a new day and the start of a new shift. Ren stretched slightly feeling that his once captured arm was free, he opens his eyes slightly to find that his partner was still facing his back to his knight in black cloth. He frowns and looks over to him. “Armi? Are you awake? You know you’re late to work right?”
There was little response other than a slight grunt and a pulling of the covers over his head, a slight sniffle at best. The knight stood up and walked over to the other side “Did you hear me? You’re late for work. Get up.” He pauses, smirks and walks to the foot of the bed, grabbing the blankets that covered his partner and yanked them exposing his partner to the light of day. “Get up.”
The redhead groaned and flopped to his stomach, hiding his face from the light. “Ren. What the hell are you doing?” he groans looking at his partner, pale features finally exposed.
“you’re late for your shift hux.” he smirked only to see his partners eyes tired and a flush of fever across his face. “Hux are you okay? it’s not like you’re always so...well...red? “ he walked over and kneeled over to his lover’s side of the bed, feeling his forehead before touching his partners. “Good god man.” “I know, I’m hot.”
“Well...no duh, why do you think I married you?” he smirked trying to place a smile on the others lips, but failed only to continue with a simple “...but I was going to say that you’re burning!”
Hux sighed a slight sigh of relief as he leaned into his husband’s cool hand. As if it were a gift from the gods as much to his dismay. “Maybe I should go in, we need the money...” he cleared his throat, trying to muster up the courage to go, only to let off a pathetic little cough.
Kylo smirked and shook his head ‘You sniffle and cough like a kitten.”
“Not funny.”
“Whatever, I’m going to call you in, get back into bed.” he said slightly pushing his partner back into the pillows. “you can hate me all you want, however one day of rest will save you from angry customers yelling at you for coughing over their coffee.” He sighed, pulling his cell phone out and putting in the numbers to the coffee house that they both worked at.
As Kylo continued to explain to their higher up that his manager on duty would not be showing up for his mid day shift. That in fact he may be taking the full day if he could get him to stay home for that long. As there was a mutual agreement the dark haired male looked over to his partner from over his shoulder. “Does anything sound good to you? Food or drink?”
The red head was already back asleep, knocked out from the fever that the poor young man was sporting. Furrowing his brows the other walked into the kitchen and called his mother. Only to retain a pick up from his father, groaning a bit to hear his voice.
“Ben?” “....Mom. Now. Let me speak with her.” The sound of rustling from the two only to hear a feminine voice “Ben sweetheart!”
A groan whenever they used his voice, it seemed to be more and more common. However, he just let them use his birth name to appease them through the holidays and through the rest of the days of the year when he felt that he needed to speak with them. It made them happy, as much to his dismay. “hey mom...I have a question for you...”
“Of course Ben, you know that we always have time for you no matter where you are and no matter what’s going on.” her voice seemed calm and happy that her son even chose to come to them on his own.
“Well...” he took a breath only to hear a shuffle from the bedroom followed by loud but strangely muffled coughing, as if hux was becoming more aware of what was going on with him alone. “Sorry mom, Armitage has a cold...I was wondering if there was any way that you would possibly know what would help him be up and around possibly by today if he wanted to be?” A silence over the phone came of the two only to hear a slight chuckle from his mother. “Ben, think. What did I do for you? What did I make you eat?”
Trying to hide his inner smart alac tone he would like to answer “Veggies.” but that would not be a good conversation between the two. “I honestly can’t remember mom...please help.” A small sigh came through the phone and an answer came. “Honestly Ben, I used to give you the attention you wanted, I’d cuddle you and make sure you were okay. I’d make you soup and tea, the tea always came with lemon and honey, the honey will work wonders on a cough.” she stammered a bit thinking “Oh. that and when you were younger, I remember when we were somewhat closer you and I used to watch movies together so you could nap in between. So...often Disney was a keeper, you know, you used to enjoy the movie series Galaxy battles.” she chimed almost in a state of nostalgia from when her son was young.
“Tea and honey. got it. thanks mom.” he hung up abrupt only to text a text after feeling guilt by his own actions towards his mother that he tried to estrange, but it just never seemed to work, I love you mom, thank you.
Pulling hux’s cat mug out of the cupboard he filled it with water, putting a tea bag into it and stashing it into the microwave for a total of two minutes. Once it had rang and finished steaming it, he pulled it out only to burn himself slightly by grabbing the bottom of the cup, cursing under his breath he grabbed the handle and put it onto the island separating their apartment kitchen from the living room.
As he listened to the small voice that rang in the back of his head. “Lemon...honey....” he rummaged through the cupboards looking for the two. He only could find a lime from Hux’s margarita binge from last week and some molasses. Close enough. He never would drink this type of concoction, however in his thought process of “If hux was really that congested, he probably couldn’t tell the difference.” He stirred it and continued to bring it to his partner.
“Armi?” He walked into the room only to see his partner reading time clock and doing work from his bed. “Armitage Hux! Why are you doing that?? you’re just going to stress yourself into getting sicker!” he scolded staring him down holding the cup of steaming liquid.
A sniffle and pulling his reading glasses off. “I’m sorry I just need to get something done if I want to stay on top of things.” his voice still just as nasal and a slight tiredness was in his voice. It made his lovers heart melt almost.
Kylo sat on the bed and looked at him. “Drink this. It’ll help with your cough i think.”
The red head put down his laptop from his lap as he looked at the drink “Did...did you use lemon or did you cut the lime up that I had in the kitchen?”
“L---lemon! Why...why would you think I would use lime?” he chuckled a little uneasily, looking at the drink only to see the floating lime at the top. “...Honey i’m sorry, i just wanted to make sure you were able to have something to drink, i hate hearing you like this...it scares me.” he handed the drink over, trying to find a way to pawn off the cup to his partner.
A soft smile came across the sickly redhead’s mouth and sighed slightly. “It’s a sweet gesture Kylo...thank you.” he took it graciously, looking at it “...you put honey in there?” he said taking a sip only to find the bitterness of the drink a little over powering due to the molasses, he chokes and looks at the cup. “Th---thank you ren....B---but I think I’m going to pass for right now, it’s good...it’s really good but....not right now.” he smiled slightly as he could feel the others arm around him, pulling him in awkwardly. “Ren...what are you--?”
“Shut up. I’m making you warm.” the dark haired man tried to justify the cuddling action towards his lover.
The other sighed and wrapped his arm around the other, sniffling and sighing. He could feel himself drifting off, only to feel a small kiss to his head, he smiled a little only to cough slightly, muttering an apology before he could drowse off. He could hear the heartbeat and it almost sang like a lullaby to a new born child. He sighed and closed his eyes only to feel himself slipping into the unconsciousness.
A few hours later he awoke still in kylos arms only to feel a little better, more awake. He looked up to his lover, only to hear him snoring, shaking his head he cuddled more and settled down for the night.
-----
The next morning hux was still a little raspy but he could manage, he was sipping his tea that he made for himself during this natural day off. He yawns and looks at kylo who awakes from the dead around noon, just like normal. “Good morning love.” the redhead greets.
“Morning---” the darker haired male broke out into a sneezing fit, groaning some as he pulled himself to the island, feeling almost as if he had been run over by a 8 wheeler.
Blinking and feeling some sympathy towards his lover, he walks over and runs his fingers through his lovers hair, softly cooing to him, “...perhaps I should make you some tea?”

A look back at Gus Malzahn’s first signing class.
Next Wednesday, Auburn will close on another signing class. Afterwards, everyone, including yours truly, will attempt to explain to you dear readers why this is a class you should be excited about based off the bits of film they’ve seen of said signees. Some will explain how the fact that one class has a higher player rating average means that their class is in fact much better than their rivals’ ranked 3 spots higher while others will point to the sheer depth of their class as why it is in fact the best.
But the truth is we actually have no idea how good or not good a class is next Wednesday. Yes, it’s been shown over and over again that schools who typically finish ranked higher tend to be more successful. You will never hear me debate that fact. However, the level of success of a class can’t really be judged until those kids hit the gridiron. So this week, we here at College & Magnolia have taken the time go back and re rank Auburn’s signing classes based on their actual success on the field. It will be interesting to see if some classes that were thought to be poor end up strong while great on paper classes turn to disappointment upon reexamination.
I should point out that we are ranking based on the success of the player while at Auburn. We aren’t concerned about where they landed in the NFL Draft or any success they might have had after leaving the Plains. We are grading strictly on how these players produced while donning the orange and blue. Our final rating is an average of grades (1-5) given to signees by the majority of the brain trust here at C&M. You could call it a C&M Composite score if you so felt inclined...
Anyway, enough rambling, onto the re-ranks!
Consensus Five Stars
We start first with the folks that we all agreed were 5* impact players for the Tigers. What we defined as 5* is pretty subjective but for me at least it’s someone that was not only ultra productive but raised the level of play of those around him as well. Three 5*s in a single class ain’t bad at all.
#14 QB Nick Marshall
247 Composite: 3* | #27 JUCO OVR | #3 JUCO QB | #6 JUCO KS
Career Stats: 320-532 (60.2%) 4,508 yards 34 TD 13 INT 147.5 QBR 325 carries 1,866 yards 5.7 avg 23 TD 3 rec 51 yds 17.0 avg
C&M Composite: 5.00
This was the easiest rerank of the class. Marshall was the engine behind Auburn’s high powered offenses in 2013 and 2014. I will completely admit to the fact that I was very confused on why Gus would take a flyer on a 20+ INT thrower from some JUCO when he had the stud QB of the future coming in the same class back in 2013. But you see, there is a reason I am an internet blogger and not a multi million dollar head football coach.
#18 K Daniel Carlson
247 Composite: 3* | N/A OVR | #2 K | #6 CO
Career Stats: 198-198 XP (100%) 92-114 (80.7%) TD
C&M Composite: 5.00
One of the dumbest things recruiting sites do is give kickers a ceiling of 3*s. Not here at College & Magnolia. Our experts here understand the value of kickers especially someone like Mr. Legatron whom not only leads Auburn in scoring but the SEC overall. That’s right, no human being that has ever played in the best football conference in America has scored as many points as Daniel Carlson. Did you see that Mike?
#55 BUCK/DE Carl Lawson
247 Composite: 5* | #22 OVR | #1 WDE | #3 GA
Career Stats: 67 tackles 24.5 TFL 14.5 sacks 3 FF
C&M Composite: 5.00
There will always be a feeling of what if with Lawson. What if he had not missed all of 2015? But that one year actually helped prove just how valuable a player he was to that Auburn defense. Teams always had to account for Lawson which opened up opportunities for guys elsewhere and his leadership was special. He’s now making a bunch of NFL front offices look super dumb which is just an added bonus honestly.
The Four Stars
What you are going to notice about this class is it is very top heavy. In some other re-ranks I will have to delineate a bit at the 4* level but in 2013, guys were pretty clearly either a consensus 5* or a consensus 4*.
#23 S Johnathan “Rudy” Ford
247 Composite: 4* | #306 OVR | #22 RB | #13 AL
Career Stats: 280 tackles 12.5 TFL 2.0 sacks 5 INT TD 11 PD FR 3 FF
C&M Composite: 4.17
Auburn flipped Ford from Vanderbilt late in the 2013 class and brought him on as a running back. He switched to defense before his sophomore year where he became an instant impact player and led the Tigers in tackles the next two seasons. I still think he could have been a dang good tailback if he left on that side of the ball but hard to complain too much about how his career turned out.
#1 Montravius Adams
247 Composite: 5* | #10 OVR | #3 DT | #2 GA
Career Stats: 147 tackles 19.5 TFL 10.5 sacks 2 INT 3 PD 3 FR TD 3 FF
C&M Composite: 4.00
I was a bit surprised to see consensus across the board that Adams was a 4*. This was a tough one because we all love Adams and there’s no denying he had a productive career for the Tigers. But consistency eluded him and he just never seemed to have that one big game changing moment in his career. If I were fully re-ranking the 2013 class he might be a 4* but he would be a top 50 player just outside the 5*s. If you disagree, feel free to make a passionate case for Adams in the comments, chances are high you will convince us.
#44 Cameron Artis-Payne
247 Composite: 3* | #60 JUCO OVR | #3 JUCO RB | #17 JUCO CA
Career Stats: 394 carries 2,218 yds 5.6 avg 19 TD 14 rec 151 yds
C&M Composite: 4.00
I vividly remembering telling my buddy with me in Atlanta when Artis-Payne broke off that tremendous late TD run against Missouri that the Tigers would be just fine at tailback in 2014. Artis-Payne was another successful JUCO hit for Malzahn and I think is overlooked in Auburn RB lore. He was insanely light on his feet for a 210 lb running back and delivered more blows than he took that season.
Borderline Four Star
Here resides one player where the C&M crew had mixed thoughts on his rank. The 4s outweighed the 3s though.
#25 Peyton Barber
247 Composite: 3* | #482 OVR | #30 RB | #42 GA
Career Stats: 248 carries 1,071 yds 4.3 avg 13 TD 11 rec 112 yds 10.2 avg
C&M Composite: 3.83
Barber’s career has been far from typical. A nasty knee injury robbed him of his junior year in high school and resulted in him not being as highly pursued as he probably should have been. He redshirted in 2013 and took garbage time reps in 2014 before emerging as the lead tailback for much of the tumultuous 2015 campaign when all of Auburn’s other more highly rated backs were all hurt. Then, after a fantastic redshirt sophomore year, Barber shockingly declared for the NFL though he gave a pretty good reason for it later. Now he’s Tampa Bay’s starting tailback after going undrafted and battling a learning disability all his life. Keep doing you Peyton.
Three Star-ish
Here we find a trio of key contributors that didn’t necessarily have consensus on their rank. One had a few more 4* votes while the other two picked up some lower 2* and even a 1* rank.
#80 Marcus Davis
247 Composite: 3* | #865 OVR | #69 CB | #126 FL
Career Stats: 83 rec 650 yds 7.8 avg 3 TD
C&M Composite: 3.33
Davis’s best year ended up being his first one. He never broke the 200 yard barrier after a strong debut season in 2013. But I will never forget that wheel route catch against Texas A&M.
#53 Devonte Danzey
247 Composite: 3* | #106 JUCO OVR | #2 JUCO OG | #18 JUCO KS
Career Stats: 10 starts
C&M Composite: 2.83
Danzey was never a star for the Tigers but was a crucial backup in both 2014 and 2015. He started 7 games at left guard in 2014 and filled in for an injured Xavier Dampeer at center the final 3 games of the 2015 campaign.
#50 Ben Bradley
247 Composite: 4* | #16 JUCO OVR | #6 JUCO DT | #3 JUCO KS
Career Stats: 36 tackles 6.0 TFL sack
C&M Composite: 2.50
Bradley was an important rotational piece for Auburn’s defensive line in 2013 and 2014. Never a major impact player, Bradley saw plenty of action and was a useful backup for the Tigers when Adams or Dontavius Russell needed a blow.
The Two Stars
This is an interesting category. Some names here I feel might have been judged too harshly while others probably given too much credit. As you can see, this 2013 class was very top but filled with a lot of signees who never really made a huge impact.
#8 Tony Stevens
247 Composite: 4* | #130 OVR | #16 WR | #23 FL
Career Stats: 50 rec 751 yds 15.0 avg 5 TD
C&M Composite: 2.33
I was a bit surprised to see Stevens rated so low by some of my esteemed colleagues. I personally had him as a clear 3* talent but can understand some of the harsh grading. Stevens would have moments where you believed the top 150 talent was showing out but would often times disappear for long stretches. His inability to stay healthy undoubtedly played a large role in those consistency struggles as well.
#6 Jeremy Johnson
247 Composite: 4* | #164 OVR | #11 PRO QB | #7 AL
Career Stats: 179-282 (63.5%) 2,223 yds 20 TD 11 INT 73 carries 210 yds 2.9 avg 9 TD
C&M Composite: 2.33
There’s no point in rehashing this story that has been told plenty. All I will say is that I greatly respected the way Johnson handled his struggles both during his collegiate career and after. He’s still got a fan in me.
#29 Brandon King
247 Composite: 3* | #176 JUCO OVR | #14 JUCO S | #28 JUCO KS
Career Stats: 19 tackles FR
C&M Composite: 2.33
Despite having a pretty nondescript career for the Tigers, King has carved out a niche in the NFL as a special teams beast and is finishing his 4th year with New England. Not a bad way to make a living.
#47 Cameron Toney
247 Composite: 3* | #433 OVR | #28 ILB | #15 AL
Career Stats: 7 tackles
C&M Composite: 2*
I really liked Toney coming out of high school but there were some concerns about his athleticism. He proved too slow to play linebacker and not big enough to play defensive line. I think though he could have been a half decent Buck if he could have played in Kevin Steele’s system. Muschamp moved him there in 2015 before he left the team.
#75 Deon Mix
247 Composite: 3* | #459 OVR | #25 OG | #7 MS
Career Stats: N/A
C&M Composite: 2.00
Mix was a career backup for the Tigers before transferring to Houston. There was always talk he was in the “Mix” at center but it never came to fruition. Sorry, just wanted to type that sentence.
The Busts
Probably harsh but this is a harsh business. There’s an uncomfortable amount of 1s in this class though it’s not a huge surprise considering that Gus had to scramble to put this class together after being hired.
#22 Khari Harding
247 Composite: 3* | #635 OVR | #45 S | #5 OK
Career Stats: 4 tackles
C&M Composite: 1.17
I loved Harding’s tape coming out of high school and was so excited when the Tigers stole him away from the Hogs. But sadly, illness in his family cut his Auburn career short and he transferred back to Tulsa where he never really made much of an impact.
#44 Kenny Flowers
247 Composite: 3* | #67 JUCO OVR | #3 JUCO ILB | #13 JUCO KS
Career Stats: 9 tackles TFL
C&M Composite: 1.17
Flowers was a hard hitting backer out of JUCO who looked poised to find a role early on a defense that needed help at linebacker. That never materialized and Flowers left the Plains without ever hearing his name called much on Saturdays, though he did win the Defensive MVP in the 2014 A-Day Game.
#97 Elijah Daniel
247 Composite: 4* | #55 OVR | #6 SDE | #2 IN
Career Stats: 23 tackles 5.5 TFL 3.5 sacks
C&M Composite: 1.00
Daniel was a nice signing day surprise that did not work out. After an encouraging sophomore campaign that saw the Indiana native make the move inside where he proved more effective, Daniel was dismissed from the team after being arrested for burglary.
#83 Dominic Walker
247 Composite: 3* | #500 OVR | #71 WR | #76 FL
Career Stats: N/A
C&M Composite: 1*
Walker decided to join teammate Tony Stevens on the Plains in 2013, flipping from Nebraska which did not go over well with the typically pleasant Bo Pelini. Sadly, Walker’s career didn’t amount to much on the Plains and he transferred to Troy after redshirting.
#37 Kamryn Melton
247 Composite: 3* | #542 OVR | #40 CB | #18 AL
Career Stats: N/A
C&M Composite: 1*
Melton was apart of the DB migration in 2015 when Will Muschamp came back to town. He ended up playing two solid seasons for Troy in 2016 and 2017.
#21 Mackenro Alexander
247 Composite: 3* | #585 OVR | #40 S | #86 FL
Career Stats: 4 tackles 1.5 TFL
C&M Composite: 1.00
Auburn’s first attempt at a package deal under Gus went poorly. Clemson landed 5* Mackenzie Alexander who went on to have a brilliant career for the purple shaded Tigers. Mackenro picked Auburn where after two seasons of not contributing he transferred to Iowa State where he had a solid senior year.
Earnest Robinson
247 Composite: 4* | #296 OVR | #43 WR| #11 AL
Career Stats: N/A
C&M Composite: 1.00
Robinson failed to qualify after signing with the Tigers and then was arrested for setting up a man for a robbery a year later. Kid had immense talent but that can only get you so far.
This class was ranked #10 overall in 2013 which was only good for 6th in the conference because that’s life in the SEC. It proved incredibly top heavy with three clear 5* impact players, one more borderline 5* talent, two outstanding tailbacks and then a whole lotta meh. This was really Gus Malzahn’s Year 0 class considering he didn’t have all cycle to recruit these kids. So while this class lacked depth, it did provide plenty of punch at the top of the list to make it a solid first signing class for Malzahn. Tomorrow, we will take a look at the very interesting 2014 group.

Examining Jay Ajayi’s (Former) Offensive Line and Right Knee
On the surface, a fourth round draft pick for Jay Ajayi feels like highway robbery.
Here’s a guy who ran for 1,272 yards and eight touchdowns last season. He’s 24 years old and under contract for $705,000 next season.
So what’s the catch?
Is this a classic case of sending your team a message? Making an example out of a guy? Did Ajayi wear out his welcome in Miami? The ex-Dolphins running back reportedly did not have a great relationship with head coach Adam Gase, who criticized his running backs after Thursday’s 40-0 loss in Baltimore. Gase said that his team has “got to stop trying to hit home runs all the time” and insinuated that some Dolphins don’t even know the full play book.:
“Offensively, it’s a joke,” Gase said. “We’ve got too many guys that don’t want to take it home with them. Until our best players actually put forth some effort, it’ll be [expletive].”
In 2017, Ajayi has 465 yards and zero touchdowns on 138 attempts. He’s on pace for about 66% of last year’s total yardage production and is finding zero red zone success.
Kyle mentioned earlier that Miami’s offense is pretty bad, and that can’t be understated.
Jay Cutler was poor and Matt Moore is worse. The Dolphins are the only team to score under 100 points this season and they rank dead last in total offense. Teams were able to stuff Ajayi with eight man fronts and sell out in rushing defense to make a one-dimensional offense become zero-dimensional. The Dolphins also spent a lot of time playing from behind, so they were chucking it in the losses against Baltimore (40-0), New Orleans (20-0), and the Jets (20-6). Somehow, they’re 4-3 and will probably be in the wild card hunt because their defense is pretty good.
Here’s Ajayi’s 2017 game log:
He had a nice day in Atlanta and also in the Tennessee win, but his 3.4 YPC average is way down from last year’s 4.9. Fantasy owners were constantly bitching because he wasn’t finding the end zone.
A lot of his runs look something like this, where blockers are being pushed into the backfield and he finds himself trying to juke or create something for himself two yards behind the line of scrimmage:
Here’s another example, where he’s barely able to squeeze through in an effort to reach the line of scrimmage:
Watch how far Anthony Steen (65) gets pushed into the backfield on this Jay Ajayi run. Who wants to guess why Ajayi is averaging 3.5 ypc? http://pic.twitter.com/mm1fmkrcTM
— Omar Kelly (@OmarKelly) October 23, 2017
There’s little red zone film to dig up from this season, obviously, since Ajayi hasn’t scored. Believe or not, Miami doesn’t have a rushing touchdown at all. They have nine passing touchdowns, seven of which have been caught by Kenny Stills and Jarvis Landry. Ex-Eagle Cody Parkey leads the Dolphins with 32 points scored on 8 XPs and 8 field goals.
I did find this clip of Ajayi running it from the five yard line in the Chargers game, a play where he’s stuffed by a linebacker. Does he hit the right hole here?
It really doesn’t matter, because this is LeGarrette Blount and Zach Ertz territory anyway. Ajayi can run goal line plays, but he won’t have to in this offense. He’s a guy who can burst through the line and break off a big run, unlike Blount, who has shown some flashes but usually has trouble getting upfield on those stretch/outside zone runs that the Eagles continue to call. Ajayi will be much better on those designs while Blount needs to be the de facto goal line guy.
Based on the clips above, nobody is going to have success in the red zone running behind that Miami line. And when you’re struggling, sometimes you lose your focus and try to do things that take you out of your element. I think that’s the case with Ajayi in 2017, which is probably exemplified here, where he makes something out of nothing:
Jay Ajayi had no blocking in Miami, and he still did things like this http://pic.twitter.com/hmj0xnbBi8
— Ben Livingston (@bliv94) October 31, 2017
The Dolphins’ offensive line is responsible for the NFL’s second-worst rushing yard total (535). Only Arizona is worse, and they’ve been hit by injuries and multiple members of the Eagle defensive line.
Miami is also tied for second-worst with a 3.2 YPC average among all runners. They have 30 negative rushes on 168 attempts. So 18% of their runs have gone backwards.
And the number you see below on the far left, “EXP,” is the combined career starts for their five linemen. They’re 14th out of 32 teams in that category, so you can’t blame it on youth.
Is the knee an issue?
ESPN’s Jeff Darlington had to go and be the asshole by dropping this after the trade went down:
Something to keep in mind about Ajayi trade: Dolphins don’t believe he has much left in his knees. Longer-term play. Something to watch for.
— Jeff Darlington (@JeffDarlington) October 31, 2017
I mean, look, it’s fair, but Ajayi would still have to pass a physical before the trade is finalized, so I don’t know if there’s much of an issue here. Ajayi did have problems dating back to his Boise State days, when he tore his ACL as a freshman and had to have his right knee surgically repaired.
That was 2011.
He returned in 2012 and put up 3,796 yards and 50 touchdowns in the next three seasons, so it seemed like the ACL was no longer an issue.
But his draft stock declined amid reports that the knee was still a problem and might require future surgery. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Ajayi had a “bone-on-bone” issue in that same knee, so the concern was basically that a heavy workload would limit the longevity of his NFL career at a position where even healthy players don’t last too long to begin with. Miami didn’t seem concerned at the time and drafted him in the fifth round. Some boards had Ajayi originally going above the likes of Tevin Coleman, David Johnson, and Ameer Abdullah.
As for the rest of his medical history, Ajayi did miss some time in 2015 with a hamstring pull and broken ribs. That cut short his preseason and kept him out until November of his rookie campaign. He dislocated a shoulder in December of last year but played in the season finale against New England, so that didn’t turn out to be a long-term thing.
Regarding trade cost, the Eagles had three fourth-round picks next season, so losing one of them isn’t much at all. Trading one of them for an affordable running back who can help you win now is even better. The Eagles last five fourth-round draft picks were Mack Hollins, Donnel Pumphrey, Jaylen Watkins, Matt Barkley, and Brandon Boykin, so it’s not like they’ve been snagging game-changing talent in that round anyway.
So even if the knees end up being a problem, this is still a low-risk move with high potential. This isn’t coughing up a second-rounder in desperation to put the team over the hump.
Also, it’s worth noting that the Cowboys now have to look elsewhere if they’re thinking about grabbing a replacement for the soon-to-be suspended Zeke Elliott.

I am not going to strive for eloquence or poetry. I am not going to back up my assertions, conjectures, paraphrased quotes or invective with links or citations. I am not going to spell-check beyond what I can catch as I sweep through and lay down words. I will fuck up homynyms.
The name is: I now hate John McCain.
I have not gotten much sleep this week. I am very tired.
I have watched approximately 100 hours of C-SPAN coverage this week collectively, concurrently watching the Senate and House on two televisions. On sits on the right hand side of my desk and one about twenty feet away from me, next to a big bay window. Between me and the latter television is a long wooden table the surface of which is covered by a piece of glassing lying atop. At the end of the table and next to the television, a palm tree made of shiny foil, with broad green leaves at the top and numerous ribbons streaming down that make up the trunk, hangs from the ceiling. It dates from before my time, probably from a Christmas party with a leiu theme.
I have the two televisions blaring C-SPAN (and C-SPAN 2, which broadcasts the action on the Senate floor) because I am tracking, in real time, the progress of pieces of legislation that are of interest to the clients of my firm. The number that is of importance to me differs from week to week but as we approach the end of the 110th Congress, it has swollen to over 70 separate bills that I must know - at an instant - the exact status of. Bills are passed at a tremendous rate in the final weeks of a session - agreements breached, differences smoothed over and sausage made - and clients are anxious to know the exact second that situations regarding legislation that could drastically affect their operation.
A parenthical note, slackly placed: those 70 bills are a fairly small proportion of the over 7000 bills introduced this Congress in the House and near 3000 introduced in the Senate - and that doesn’t include the non-binding resolutions, rules, nominations and other sundry business of those august bodies.
Aiding me in my tasks are numerous alerts I’ve set up, lists of bills introduced each morning that I sort through, the morning whip notices sent to member’s offices that I get forwarded, calls to the Cloak Rooms to get updates about scheduling (Once I called the Senate Democratic Cloak Room and was put on hold. Sen. Durbin (IL-D), the Deputy Majority Leader picked up and asked what I wanted. I asked him when a vote I was interested would occur and he politely handed the phone over to a staffer, laughing), Hill rag schedules I print out and mark up and the like. On week’s like this week, my desk is covered in these sorts of things, along with facebooks containing all the members and their office numbers, lists of interest areas (health, defense, etc.) and the partners related to them, client codes, sticky pads, invoices for the library, a tattered rolodex and a legal pad filled with hundreds of obscure rows of numbers like so:
224 | 3 180 | 22 1 present 404 | 25
which indicates a vote result - Democrats on the top row, then Republicans and then the total.
My desk is messy.
Rising out of the midst of this paper spew is my monitor, where the mess is replicated as best I can electronically. I most commonly have several dozen tabs open - like most of us, I think I am fair in assuming - along with up to 48 open emails (I am certain about the number because if I open any greater amount than that then I have to scroll up and down to see them in XP when I roll over the Outlook tab on the bottom of my screen) that I am dumping news clips, floor updates, synopsis of press briefings, pdfs of bills, responses to research requests and furious emails to the Wall Street Journal about their site redisign. I also tend to have a handful of Gmail chat windows open, I’ll admit, a remnant of a youth that is rotting away precipitously.
Today I sent approximately 150 emails, which probably seems fairly slight but, in my defense, some of those emails contained up to 30 articles on a single topic.
I am fairly busy at work.
And yet, compared to many people, my job is extremely easy. I don’t dig ditches, for instance.
I also am not a staffer for House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank. Today, they went to bed at around 5:30 in the morning because they had meetings in an attempt to cobble together a solution to the fucked up financial system of this country until 5 a.m.. This sleep, a sweet respite from a week of similarly late nights, was brief however. The meetings resumed at 8 a.m..
This insane workload was not without its achievements, however. Since Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson and Fed Reserve Chair Ben Bernanke released their completely politically tone-deaf and almost certainly irresponsible proposal to buy up a vaste swath of assets, up to $700 billion at a time, they had accomplished great progress in reaching rapprochment with the other parties involved - House and Senate leadership of their party and the Republicans, the Administration and lobbyists for the entire universe of interests that sought to influence the effort.
By Monday, they had released their own draft bill, along with a version offered by their counterparts in the Senate. Both of these bills expanded the famously terse and expansive three-page Treasury proposal into 40 and 50 page documents that included executive compensation provisions, mortgage foreclosure mitigation, and far greater oversight over the process.
I want to reiterate this: although numerous parties - particularly the Presidential campaigns - bloviated about the principles that they demanded be in the bill, the working copies of what was actually being negotiated included limits to compensation and ‘golden parachutes’, a bipartisan oversight board, equity in firms assisted by the plan and the possibility of lowering the scope of the bailout so that only a portion of the $700 billion would be advanced. The outraged statements about the bailout, the anger and panic they whipped up and the press-conference proposals were all directed at a version of the bill that had been immediately discarded.
Yesterday, our tired and plucky FSC staffers had managed to get Treasury to accept their proposal in a general form. This moved the process forward a great deal and was able to withstand dumb ol’ Chris Dodd, the Senate Banking Chair, lumbering in and demanding to get some loving attention from Paulson and Frank.
This framework culminated in a joint press conference early this afternoon whose luminaries included Frank, Dodd, FSC Ranking Member Spencer Bachus, Republican Senator Bob Bennett (a lobbyist who somehow managed to find himself a Utah senator and who was standing in the stead of Don Rickles-lookalike, former Democrat and earmark sponge Senate Banking Ranking Member Richard Shelby of Alabama, who has seen the $700 billion abyss and has run away in terror) and other key negotiators. They announced that there was agreement on the path forward and a very good possibility that a rescue package could pass by the weekend.
It was all a coincidence of course that this agreement was announced before John McCain, whom I earnestly hate, could meet with the President, Barack Obama and other interested parties.
I hate John McCain. He is a contemptible person. I want to see him in pain.
Imagine the joy that the FSC staffers must have felt today. Imagine all the work that they have undertaken, painstakingly and carefully, to try and solve an imminent crisis to the country that they love. Imagine the dedication to work as hard as they have for relatively little pay. Imagine the sacrifices that they have carried, the responsibility.
They must adore their general, Barney Frank, whose unkempt appearance led many unfamiliar with him to remark with shock at how tired he looked. While he certainly was fatigued, he always looks like shit. He is a chunky bedraggled Jewish homosexual with a speech impediment and someone I admire as a hero.
Yesterday, on a day in which he had to stay up and delay negotiations in order to hear the President deliver a USA Today rundown of the crisis and ask Congress to fix it for him, Frank responded to a question about John McCain’s decision to announce that he was pulling out of the debate tomorrow and tell people that his campaign was suspended. Frank said that it was “the longest Hail Mary pass in the history of either football or Marys.”
John McCain had a remarkably bad day yesterday. It began with a desperate conference call in which his pollster tried to bluster away an ABC/W Post poll that showed him dropping 9 points back of Obama. It ended with David Letterman juggling his ripped off balls on the air while offering a squirming Keith Olbermann a bite. In between saw him delay responding to a effort by Obama to set up a joint statement because he was meeting with a baroness, an act of extreme personal cowardice to try and shirk the debate and tired negotiators telling him not to come to Washington because it would just fuck things up.
John McCain came to Washington.
John McCain fucked things up.
The one group of interested parties who have not fully been involved in the negotiations have been House Republicans. This is largely because they are a death cult who should be put to the flame by rational men. The proposal that the Republican Study Group, a conservative caucus that makes up slightly more than half of the full House Republican delegation, issued early in the week suggested that the key was to have a capital gains tax holiday for two years and to drill in ANWR. Clearly the financial crisis would be solved if banks and fund managers stopped paying taxes. The poor dears were holding toxic securities from all the worry that they’d have to contribute a cent to the upkeep of their nation. John Campbell, a contender for the chairmanship of the RSC in the next Congress, has probably completely killed off his chances by supporting the general idea of a bailout.
Spencer Bachus, the senior Republican on the Financial Services Committee, was the main - and often only - House Republican involved in the negotiations. He had acceeded to the principles of the agreement reached today. Then he admitted that he “was not authorized by [his] colleagues to make any agreement on behalf of House Republicans.”
That left their stance on the negotiations “fuzzy” in Barney Frank’s words.
When John McCain arrived in Washington, the first thing he did was meet with House Republican Leader John Boehner and a group of RSC members. Later on in the day, he said very little of importance at a meeting with the President, Barack Obama and the negotiating partners. Meanwhile, House Republicans demanded that the entire negotiation begin again, bearing a new proposal that they had not mentioned at all up until that point.
RSC members held a press conference this evening to discuss their plan. They loudly asserted that McCain had not expressed support for the RSC proposal and had not told them to delay the negotiations. It was just one of those things that happens.
Their proposal would be to create a new federal insurance program to back toxic mortgage-backed securities. They say that since the federal government insures subprime loans through Fannie and Freddie, it would be easy. And it wouldn’t cost a thing because the insurance pool would be filled with premiums paid by securities holders.
Although several members of the group of RSCers that held the press conference are members of the FSC and asked questions at the hearing held this week featuring Paulson, Bernanke and SEC Chairman Chris Cox, none had brought up the idea at the time.
Perhaps they knew that it would have been savaged. I am not a financial expert, so I speak from ignorance, but perhaps Paulson would have suggested that there would be no way to value the insured assets - the whole problem at the root of the crisis - and that CDOs wouldn’t be covered. Perhaps they would have looked like insane ideologues who were unwilling to confront a crisis.
We don’t know, of course. We do know that negotiations will continue through tomorrow night and that this may cause McCain to duck out of the debate. We do know that McCain has done absolutely nothing to advance the negotiations and whose appearance and interference has severely compromised advancements that were being made. We do know that he is an unforgivable little shit, contempible and hate-filled.
We do know that McCain (HOW FUCKING DARE HE) has single-handedly invalidated and trod over the incredibly difficult work of hundreds of people. People who are trying, in a totally thankless and anonymous way, to help save a part of their country.
I didn’t hate him. Honestly, it was more about the Ds and the left-wing shit that is my heritage.
But I want to punch his fucking kids right about now. I want to scream at him until I pass out.
What a fucking dick.
Who’s going to be the Sean Robinson of the healthcare fiasco?

It's the third week of being back at work, and I hate it and feel like a terrible human being. I also feel like I Wasted my time during lockdown, even though I know I sometimes didn't. Like, I did some things. I got things done. I'm happy about that. Work is making me so tired, but I did kind of know it would which is Why I didn't watch TUA during lockdown, so I could watch it now while I feel so useless and like the day is already over.

S2 E6
Run Allison :O
D:
Hehe.
Aw.
It suddenly occurred to me out of basically nowhere, that I am a dumb. So, Lilah legit tells Diego her mom taught her to fight. And I was like :o I dig it, tell me more. Then literally like two episodes later she's sharing her tragic backstory about how she found her parents dead at age 4 and it went Right over my head, if that's true then how could her mom have taught her to fight? And I should have realized. I'm dumb. I mean, neither of those things were false, and she said them both sincerely enough, but, just presented as such without explanation those two things contradict each other. I was clearly not paying attention. I suppose Diego wasn't either, cause he didn't notice it either. XD
Of course she does XD Is the fish going to be there? Because I miss him.
"My Pursuers." I love that.
D'aww. Team Zero for the win. Lol. XD
TMI Ben :P
Oh no, that's not what he meant. XD the nodding, lol. This cult is really just doing its own thing X'D
This little montage, such fun :D
Ooooooooh snap. Oh :o
I guess the consequences of Allison's powers are that they're kind of addictive? and it's easy to lose herself in using them. I'm interested to know how Mr H...managed? her, as a child. How did they discover her powers? Did she have a wild rebellious phase where she just got everything she wanted with no one the wiser XD
I wanna play bingo.
These two are gonna have a real falling out. Or. Falling through. X'D
Are we gonna have a legit posession at some point? :D
Also, Ben feeling offended about sounding like Dad...like, I gotta know what happened to Ben my guys.
(before posting this I browsed tumblr -_-' and I got a little spoiled about Ben, but seemingly nothing I haven't already been suspecting though, so I guess it's not too bad)
We're all invited!
Oh, Dave D':
The Handler is being a busy busy bee. Setting everyone up just the way she likes. Let's hope Five doesn't decide to change his socks. :/ :P
Five's little smile.
Daddy's girl? Interesting, after I was just wondering what she and Mr H were like in her youth.
Dat no-nonsense entrance.
Mr H even brought a notebook XD
And Yet. XD
Oof.
Mr H looked So amused when Allison made Diego do that.
Oops XP
Mr H is a time. O.O A very self-assured time though. I. Like, don't hate him? Like, not at This time. Not, for who he is right now. I feel I ought to dislike him, for who he was or will be and what he did with them as kids, but, right now. He's just very interesting, and I can't dislike him because he makes sense.
Ben yass!
Yeah, Five is the only one that makes sense to you Mr H. Aw Diego, I'm sorry.
A smidge XD
Ah, they all got it.
That makes so much sense, starting with seconds.
How interesting, he's pretty accepting of the world ending apparently, but in another time he trains literal kids to prevent that from happening? Time travel will make your head hurt. I'm not sure how time travel works in this universe, but we have seen things Happen, and then be Changed afterward because Five traveled back to before they happened and so things happen differently the second time around. So, to just answer a thought I've been having by myself over here XD I don't think Their Mr H who is dead in 2019 had This meeting with them in his timeline. Only after we travel back to 2019 will he have had this meeting, because he couldn't have had it before it happened and it only just happened Now. So he adopted them and prepared them for the first apocalypse not because they told him he does, in this time here, but rather, for some other reason. At least, originally. Since they've now told him all the things, This might Become the reason he adopts them in This Version of the timeline.
The way Five says, they have to "get out of" the timeline, makes me think there's a million possible timelines, which is probs accurate.
Out of interest I'd like to mention, that poor Five is such an innocent bean concerning these apocalypses, because he hasn't been a part of what actually starts it either time XD he only arrives for the end or the aftermath. His fam is a time. XD
Aw, Five and Mr H are a nice pair. I feel like Five thinking he gave Mr H a hard time as a child is interesting, because on the one hand, that's something adults sometimes say sincerely to their parents, and it's fair of them to say that. But all of his siblings of course, would never say that, and probably still wouldn't no matter how old they get. But, Five's teenage years and entire adulthood, he spent without Mr H, so Mr H wasn't there to mess him up the way he had the others'.
If Five hadn't traveled into the future, would he hate Mr H as much as his siblings do?
That's not ominous.
That feeling when you inherited dental equipment from your father (right? I forget) and are then being tortured by two-thirds of the Swedes with it. :|
Some other place. Some literal other time.
CAAAAARL. like the llama.
Surprise! It's not a good surprise.
D:
These green colours are a mood.
We've got some traveling to do.
I guess we'll see if events in this point in time, like the apocalypse, actually change the future of the current timeline? Or, when Five goes forward to the board meeting, will they be in a second timeline? Will they be unaffected by the apparent apocalypse, and be in a timeline prior to when Five's fam arrived in the 60's because the fam is in the process of basically resculpting that little section of time, technically for the second time because Five has now joined them so these ten days prior to the apocalypse are kind of not "set" yet? So whatever consequence they have is yet to be determined. And, if the Handler is to be believed, 2019 still exists as it was before they traveled and before their first apocalypse, because she claims to be able to take them back there. Which also suggests to me, that whatever causes the apocalypse, is their fault sure but it also hasn't happened yet. Like, I guess JFK's assassination has got to be the point of no return right? Whatever happens there has to be the thing that sets the apocalypse in motion officially. I haven't actually been trying to figure out what causes it, because I don't feel smart enough to pick up on any potential clues that might allow me to piece it together XD so I've just been going with the flow.
I feel like I could explain what I think time travel and the timeline works like, better, in a picture. :/

Last two eps! I made popcorn for this. Let's get it. B)
.::this warning is for spoilers only::.
Episode 9
Mr H's increased exasperation XD
I was wondering where Mom was when this began. And now here she be! She was made especially for Seven? :D I'd say it was sweet, but seeing het turn her head around is more creepy than anything else XD
I feel like it's so easy to see Leonard is Up To Something, from the beginning; it's in what he does and how he says things, but it's also in the cinematography, and I regret I wasn't paying better attention to the music, but I bet it's there too; but like, From the Outside. Like how Allison does too. And I just always wonder when I see this sort of thing in a show, if it was happening to me in real life, would I be able to notice??? I am so cynical and so...alone? Self-reliant? I don't know that I'm actually capable of allowing just a regular person into my life, never mind one who actually claims they Want to be there. :|
And if they have alterior motives, would I recognize the signs???
This relationship weirdly fascinates me, but also terrifies me.
Oh she's not dead! So far. :|
I love needles XD
Aw, Diego XD
I was thinking about Ben yesterday. Wondering how he's there all the time..? Also, is he younger than them? Did he not die as a young boy? Is his statue not much younger than what he looks like now? Is he really a ghost, or a manifestation of Klaus's guilty conscience, is a thing I thought early on XD
I want to know how he died.
Whooooa.
Who got the Patrick Swayze reference? XD I've never actually seen That movie, but I know the thing, but I also have no idea how I know it. lol
Hawt! Mr H did claim hehad more potential :D
Vanyaaaa, they don't even suspect you :'(
She finds the journal again!
Pro tip Leonard, make copies, keep notes, use code. Keep your originals safe. XP
The way things are going, is Leonard actually going to get that prosthetic eye within the next two days? It seems like he has too much going on XP
Leonard's house is full of greens. Which is a mix of blue and yellow... Not sure what exactly I want to make of that.
Yeah, no new eye for you Leonard.
Knife!
Waaaaiiit waitwait. Wait. I'm having second thoughts about Leonard's eye. Was the eye not already shipped out? I thought, so, because wasn't Five going to the lab to see who it was sent to, but then the fire? Was the prosthetic eye business not also a scam? Which means Leonard is Not Mr Apocalypse causing man? I mean, he sort of Is, but is he the owner of the eye in this timeline? Or was him having lost an eye. Was a misdirect? Am I overthinking it and am I confused, because I only half-remember things, lol.
What does dead Leonard mean for the planned apocalypse. :| Is it still on?
This poor donut lady. What was her name again?
I guess the eye burnt down in the lab then? Why would it have been made, for Leonard, so long before he lost his though? In this timeline. I'm confusion. I probably just missed a thing somewhere.
Aw, Pogo. I feel kinda bad for you.
Heehee, Klaus and Five! XD
"I'll get it" like as if Dolores was gonna XP
Everything goes, but we draw the line at biting Diego. XD this whole scene! Ohemgee, I legit wrote that before he said it! Lol. I am laughing so much right now XD
I'm still suspicious.
Aw, Five. Five's circumstances with regards to his relationships with his siblings, is so interesting, because...the last time he knew them they were all kids? He falls into step with them pretty easily? Like, he accepts all of their goings-on, and how they've been divided, because he recognises they're older and must have changed? But he also feels like he treats them exactly the same as he did before? Like, similar to that "pick up where we left off" feeling you get when you see a really old, good friend again after a long time apart? And like, he's just still on good terms with them and cares about them, and thinks about what he can do for them, just in whatever situation. I just love that.
Oh, Vanya. :'(
