Who eats as much popcorn as I do?! 🙋🏽‍♀️ so many myths exist to tell us that we will have inflammation from carbohydrates (especially “processed” carbs), disease will take over, and you are in for sure doom. Let me just simply one thing: our bodies were designed to process and digest all carbohydrates and use them in each of our cells. The media has engrained in us that without their “clean health foods” we will certainly develop heart disease, diabetes, increased inflammation, gut issues, etc. It’s a marketing tactic! This is why we live in a paranoid world. Consider this, if you stress about the food you eat, maybe your stress is giving you flares. If you emit foods, maybe lack of nutrient is making you feel crappy. Carbs and processed foods are not always the answer! But that seems to be our first go-to. Down to our body’s chemical makeup and the chemical makeup of carbs, we were born to digest carbohydrates. That is actually really fascinating! Dietitians go through YEARS of chemistry for this very purpose. Trust that your body can handle the foods you eat. Trust that your gut is a powerful organ designed for the intake of sugars. And trust your mind to listen to what your body needs. That’s the most powerful tool.
