FIRST POSTCARD!
In May, I'm starting a postcard club on my patreon! Each person who joins at 15 euro a month or more will be sent a postcard print of a painting or design by yours truly at the end of each month. I am also still posting daily (!!!) comics (as seen @externalmemorycomic ) at the cheapest tier as well! You can find the link to my Patreon in my pinned post (I don't want this to get lost because of an external link hehe) Thanks for reading!!!

The Last-Minute Sci-Fi Gift Guide
There's only one thing worse than procrastinating on getting gifts for your loved ones, and that's procrastinating on putting together a guide to help out everyone else with all those gifts. It's Dec 12, so you can decide for yourself which I'm doing.
Tumblr media
Art book: Worlds Beyond Time, $32
If you follow this blog, you might have heard of this one. I published Worlds Beyond Time: Sci-Fi Art of the 1970s this year after five years of work on it, and I think it's really good! 400+ images, 100+ artists, with lots of fun art history and jokes.
Also, it's just $20 right now if you order through my publisher and use the code SKIPTHELINE! Cheapest it's ever been!
Tumblr media
Card game: Coup, $14
In this "social deduction" card game, you play as a government official in a future dystopia who needs to backstab their way into power. Everyone starts out with just two cards in this bluffing game, so the tide can turn pretty quick when players start assassinating each other's cards. The fast pace makes it a good gift for someone who loves spies but thinks they don't like card games.
Tumblr media
Game to play over Zoom: Bad Spaceships, $3
If a bluffing game stresses you out, try Bad Spaceships: It's a collaborative world-building game in which you roll dice to see what area of your spaceship connects to another, forcing you to spitball exactly why this is the case. As the game puts it, you might fix the hull by playing Tetris, or charge your weapons in the swimming pool. You're basically getting weird prompts to tell a story that can evolve over the course of the game.
It's such an indie game that it comes as PDFs you download from itch.io, but you can play it just as well over Zoom, if you're looking for an excuse to catch up with your old digital nomad college friend.
Tumblr media
Movies/TV: Streaming service gift card
Gift cards are all well and good, but you can personalize them by recommending a few of your favorite shows as well. I suggest:
Hulu: Cowboy Bebop
Apple TV+: Severance
Criterion Channel: Ravenous, Paprika, Strange Days
Paramount+: Yellowjackets
Amazon Prime: The Devil's Hour
But to be honest, this entry is just an excuse to talk about the new Max show Scavenger’s Reign. Inspired by the work of French artist Moebius and with a clear debt to famed 70s animated film Fantastic Planet, this stylish sci-fi show features a bunch of humans trying to survive on a beautiful but hostile alien world. Perfect for lovers of fictional nature.
Tumblr media
Vintage sci-fi
This Etsy shop has some good stuff, like the 1971 Frank Kelly Freas NASA poster above, a bit of history that I even mentioned on page 167 of my art book.
Tumblr media
Penguin science fiction postcards, $28
These postcards have a ton of very cool sci-fi covers I've blogged in the past – great value if you want a lot of art for a low cost.
Tumblr media
Meteorite pendant necklace, $34
I think we all know what kind of rock your loved ones need around their neck: A chunk of meteorite straight out of the 1576 Argentinan meteorite fall.
Tumblr media
Book recs
For astronauts: Packing for Mars by Mary Roach, The New Guys: The Historic Class of Astronauts That Broke Barriers and Changed the Face of Space Travel by Meredith Bagby
For comedians: Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir, Even Greater Mistakes: Short Stories by Charlie Jane Anders
For sleuths: Six Wakes by Mur Lafferty, Drunk on All Your Strange New Words by Eddie Robson
For crafters: Knits of Tomorrow: Toys and Accessories for your Retro-Future Needs
For the resistance fighters: The Light Brigade by Kameron Hurley, An Unkindness of Ghosts by Rivers Solomon
For slasher movie fans: Clown in a Cornfield by Adam Cesare
Tumblr media
Syd Mead "Biomorph Vehicle" button down shirt, $49
T-shirts aren't classy enough for the world's coolest visual futurist, Syd Mead. I haven't actually bought this incredibly odd shirt, but I really need to.
Tumblr media
Art prints (and more) from 70s sci-fi artists
Artist shops can be surprisingly hard to track down on the internet, but here's a short list of ones I've come across. All of these artists are featured in my book (except one), so you can read up on them before you commit to a print.
Michael Whelan
John Harris
Syd Mead
Don Maitz
David B Mattingly
Peter Andrew Jones - Jones was one of just a few artists who declined to be included in my art book, but he has a distinct, colorful style that I would have loved to have featured!
Finally, here's one extra bonus, just for everyone who made it to the end of this article: The UK-based educational charity Centre for Computing History sells three big officially licensed John Harris posters featuring these three artworks, famous for their use as covers for Sinclair programming manuals.
Tumblr media
It's a great deal that I've never seen mentioned anywhere, and Harris' work has a timeless quality that makes it great for an unassuming wall decoration. If you're outside the UK, the shipping costs will be a pain, but there's no better deal for a classic sci-fi poster.

Please reblog so we can spread the news!!!!
>>PRE-ORDER HERE<<
Tumblr media
This past summer, I did a print run of the first part of the series, Sit Tight, Take Hold and printed 94 copies for charity. Many readers asked for books 2 & 3, and I had many others express interest in a 3-part bundle who missed the first run. I've spent November, December, and January prepping the next parts for print, and I'm so excited to share them with you.
So, what is included?
Option for a 3-book bundle including:
Book 1: Sit Tight Take Hold 424 pages on matte 80lb text paper, color printing throughout. Cover has matte lamination in color. Dimensions of the book are 6x9x.93. Weight ~2 lbs Art by Blairamok (See cover art above)

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Where are the proceeds going?
Tumblr media
Rainbow Railroad is a North American-based organization that works globally to ensure safety and asylum to LGBTQIA+ individuals. This is the same charity we donated to last time, and it was a resounding success. Last time, we were able to fundraise $1,600!
Continued FAQ below:
How much does shipping cost?
For US residents, bundles will cost a flat fee of $10. They will ship via media mail through USPS.
For anyone outside of the US, shipping has been estimated through the cheapest carrier, either USPS or UPS minus $10. Unfortunately, I cannot control the cost of shipping, and I know that it is extraordinarily high. The bundles will weigh anywhere between 4-6+ lbs, which is expensive to ship.
Wait, I'm from the US. Why am I paying more for Media Mail?
While Media Mail typically would cost $4-6, the increased price is to offset international orders, whose shipping will cost anywhere from $20-60 with the discount. I hope you understand. I want to make this as accessible as I can without personally eating any costs. I am not making any profit off of this project.
When do orders ship?
Once pre-orders close on 3/13, I will order the books. There is typically a 2-4 week turn around for them to be printed and delivered to me. I then have to package and ship everything from my house. I hope to have everything shipped 1 month after pre-orders close, but I am only human.
US mail should take 2-8 days. International orders can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks, so please be patient.
If you are only ordering a damaged copy or postcards, both of which have already been printed, I will ship those out sooner.
When do I get my PDFs?
The PDFs and book proofs are the same, and they are 90% done. PDFs will be delivered via email by me once pre-orders close. I am still doing small changes and edits to make sure they are perfect!
If I order a bundle, do I also need to order PDFs if I want digital copies?
NO! PDFs are included with the bundles and only the bundles. You will not have access to them immediately, only once pre-orders close and I email them to you! Like I said, they are 90% finished, and I am stilling making small adjustments. (Kerning, I loathe you!)
What percent of proceeds are going to Rainbow Railroad?
100%! This excludes the cost of printing and shipping. For reference, the first print run cost $1,254 for the books alone, not including shipping and packaging supplies. Anything remaining goes directly to charity. I am not keeping any costs for labor or making any profit on this.
Wait, there's bonus content?
Remember when I said I was done after the trilogy? Well, @tut557 popped into the Discord server and said, 'Hey, what if they played Mario Kart...' This spiraled into a long conversation about all the different media promos they might do, and then I spent this past November writing another 50k of the #RAINBOWROAD universe for NaNoWriMo. This is also available on AO3, and I will be posting weekly while preorders are open. You can find it here.

for once Redbubble doesn't have a sale on so I'm doing my own. Dropped my margins on posters and prints. Poster option is the cheapest unless you just fancy a lil postcard.
All my pieces are up in the shop, some available as stickers, tees, and bags too, but only when I think it looks cool :P

Rare (old) bts merch guide
2kool4skool
Tumblr media
Bighit (I refuse to call it HYBE) put 200 Polaroids randomly into the first press versions of 2kool4skool, most of them that I've seen have been group or duo pics but there are some solo ones just they are rarer. These Polaroids are all extremely rare though (especially as they get older 🥲) and honestly I rarely see any being sold. Most of the posts I've seen of them have been older so you might have some luck digging deep into old hashtags. I have no clue how much these would go for since I never see listings but in 2015 they were 200ish (if your selling them please for the love of god message me)
ORUL82 signed pc
Tumblr media
Once again, i rarely ever see these go for sale although I did find some listings from a few years ago on carousell (all were sold though). They never released the number of these as far as I know but they were only in the first press albums. From what I've heard finding a group pc signed is very hard but since there isn't much information or listings for it, its hard for me to say. And once again no idea on the pricing although I'd assume you'd have a hard time finding it cheaper than a few hundred.
MD diary
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the fan club merch included a towel, bandana, and diary (the MD diary which also served as a seasons greetings) which were originally sold at the prices of:
2014 Diary -24,000 KRW (18.37 USD)
Official slogan -18,000 KRW (13.78 USD)
Bandana -15,000 KRW (11.48 USD)
Plus a gift for those who bought all 3 ( the gift was 7 member pictures and 2 group photos). The diary included 3 full group postcards and 3 random photo cards (out of 7 total) with only 600 ever being sold. This one i do actually see get listed frequently Normally the postcards are $900ish each, diary is around $900-1500 but sometimes i see them for about 150 although normally damaged (they tend to be cheaper off tumblr), no clue on the towel or bandana 😔
1st muster
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Muster was the 1st fan meet and took place in early 2014. At the fan meet the bts in Thailand (aka now 1 in Thailand) came with two limited photo cards out of 7 total. You can still buy these now decently easy off ebay. The cheapest I've seen was about 100 and the most expensive was 500 but that one was sealed still. The pcs from it are usually 150 but some rarer ones like this can go for as much as 600
Tumblr media
The postcards can go from 200-900 sold separately and pretty much no one sells them in the set anymore. Although the wrappens are very rare DO NOT PAY 900 FOR THEM!! If you dig hard enough you can find them for around 120. The bandana is probably going to cost you about 200. There was a few other things sold at the muster but they're so impossible to find its pointless to put them in here, if your interest though feel free to message me.
Hip Hop Monster Dolls
Tumblr media
Only 95 of these per member were ever actually sold (some of which were signed) Jimin sold out the fastest and because of that has sort of become the rarest. I'm talking about the original ones right now (we will get to the others later) but first I think its important to point out the difference. The first ones came with a small badge of a members face and came inside of a black cardboard box
Tumblr media
meanwhile the second came in a transparent box with no badge. Another difference is the second ones say hip hop on the front rather than bts
Tumblr media
I'm honestly not sure how many of the 2nd were released but I'm assuming it was more since they go for much cheaper and a lot more are available. Anyways, the first ones are harder to find and are 500-1100 compared to the second ones costing as low as 60 or 100
Dark and wild Polaroids
Tumblr media
i need the taehyung ones 🥹777 Polaroids were spread across first print albums and signed (a few aren't but thats a very small amount) Majority are solo, some are duo, very few are trio, and even fewer are full group (by even fewer I mean 2). Once again these are sadly nearly impossible to come across and if you do expect to pay about $1000 or more 🥲
Red bullet
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Although I do see a lot of red bullet merch on here I feel like these two things are rare enough to be brought up. The postcard set goes from 180-500 (member pricing will be the death of me) and the poster set is 500. With the postcard set there was a total of 8 photos per member with 4 group photos making the total 60 photos.  The group ones are more rare because they were only included in the sets in Japan.
War of hormone pc
Tumblr media
IDK WHY NO ONE TALKS ABOUT THESE THEY ARE SO CUTE 😩At the end of Hormone War Promotions, an Inkigayo fan meet was held and you would get 1 random pc but a few were signed and if you got the signed one you got all 8 pcs! If you want one of these your going to have to sell a arm and leg, they go normally for 1k. I did actually see a Jimin one for 600 but I would not expect them to be around that
No More Dream Pony Canyon Music Card
Tumblr media
i feel like no one ever talks about this but every time BTS released a single in Japan, theyd hold a release event the first weekend after the single is released in Osaka and Tokyo. People who pulled winning lottery tickets from their cds got to attend the release event.  These normally included a Hi-Touch opportunity and a small performance. At these events, they sold music cards for their release. they always released 3 group versions of these cards some of which were signed. These tend to sell at around 70
Boy In Luv Pony Canyon Music Card
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i haven't seen anything go up for these lately but last time I did it was 200 something. If your looking for the solo member ones though I see them a lot on ebay for about 45
Danger Pony Canyon Music Card
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i don't really see the group ones for these either, but the member ones are typically about 80. If your interested in these types of pcs ill be making a separate post on them later!
while making this I realized it would make a LOT more sense to make this into smaller categories on different posts so ill be continuing this later! However if you have any questions in the meantime or need help trying to find were to buy things lmk (i check my messages very often 🫶)

Chapter 3
Tumblr media
Shinobu: One Oracle?
Kiho: It's a simple form of fortune-telling where you draw a card and decipher the answer.
Tarot and oracle are technically different things, but let's leave out that complicated stuff.
Shinobu: Wow, seems like it would be easy to join.…. Crap! I forgot I had to call Mika-nee about a customer.
I'm off for a bit, you two enjoy yourselves~
With that, Aizawa-kun left for the staff room, and the store fell silent for a moment. After a long, not short, but just the right amount of time, Kiho-san spoke again. As always, there's not a single moment of awkwardness or stagnation in the conversation he leads.
Tumblr media
Kiho: It says in the document that we need to discuss how to incorporate flowers into this fortune-telling.
Ito: About that... I was thinking of making bookmarks with flowers with positive meanings to hand them out at the end of the fortune-telling.
I think I can ask Ichikawa-kun to do the illustrations and design, and I've already found a few candidates for the printing store.
Kiho: Ah, that might be good. If you prepare several types, I can convey the fortune-telling results in a more connecting way.
Would you mind if I choose the flowers for the motif myself?
Ito: Eh? Not that I mind, rather, I'd be very grateful... but I don't intend to make it that much of a hassle for you.
Kiho: Don't worry, it's not a hassle at all.
Due to my previous job, I am quite familiar with flower language.
Ito: (His previous job made him knowledgeable about flower language? .....A florist, perhaps?)
Kiho: If you don’t mind, allow me to take over the work related to the bookmarks, including cooperating with Ichikawa-kun. I'm sure there is a mountain of other things you have to do, Ito.
Ito: (...I feel a bit reluctant to increase the work of someone, especially Kiho-san, who is almost like my boss.)
(Flower language is an important part of this project. It's definitely better to have someone who knows one or two things about it take on this task than for me to look for it with my superficial knowledge.)
In that case, let me take you up on your offer. Thank you so much.
Kiho: That settles it. But why bookmarks?
Ito: I initially thought about postcards, but I also didn't think there was much use for them.
Of all the practical things, paper bookmarks were the cheapest to make.
Kiho: I see.
Ito, do you dislike things that are not practical?
Ito: Eh? I wouldn’t say that..... Let’s see.....
It's fine if I receive it myself, but when I think about giving it to someone else, I tend to remove it from the options.
Kiho: Why would that be?
Ito: ……Uhhh...
(Is he trying to read my mind right now?)
Kiho: Sorry, you don't need to think too hard about it. I was just wondering. So, is there any particular reason?
Ito: I can only think of obvious reasons like there being a certain number of people who would find it annoying to receive one...
Probably nothing in particular.
Tumblr media
Kiho: Oh yeah?
Kiho-san gave a somewhat vague response before gently closing the conversation. But he still seemed to be asking, “Really?” with a smile. Maybe Kiho-san was wondering how I would answer that question. But in the end, he didn't check the answer.
Tumblr media
The reserved seats for the event were all booked shortly after it was announced.
The day before the event, just when I thought preparations were going smoothly and I would be able to greet the day without any problems…
The “unexpected event” happened.
Tumblr media
Ito: Good morning.....Ah.
(He’s on the phone.)
Yuzuru: ………Yeah, I can take your place for lunch today. I should be able to start without any problems, I will head there right away.
Then, I'll talk about the details later tonight.… No, not at all. I'm sorry, but I can’t say that I’m not grateful. Sorry for bothering you even on your day off.
Any time is fine, so please get some rest for now. Thank you for your cooperation.
Tumblr media
Yuzuru: Phew... Good morning. Sorry for causing a ruckus early in the morning.
Ito: Is it an urgent job?
Yuzuru: The ST Dept. has suddenly been tasked with an agent job. I was discussing that matter just now.
This is an ongoing personal guarding job that strictly requires Yu’s presence, and is also an irregular request.
He wanted me to take his place until tomorrow night.
Ito: ….! Don’t tell me Nina-san can't attend tomorrow's event?
Yuzuru: As you may have guessed.
That being the case, the only kitchen staff left will be Yashiro-san.
I'll have to think about it a bit.
Ito: ...I see what happened now.
Yuzuru: I wish I could have taken your place. But that is proving to be difficult.
Ito: That's true...
If Kise-san is going to take Nina-san’s place in the kitchen, someone else will need to take his place. At Aporia, which operates with a small but elite team, each person's role is already heavy.  Kise-san’s position and work, which covers the whole team, are rather special. Not something that can be easily replaced.
Ito: (But the kitchen shifts are always shared between Kise-san and Nina-san. Is there any other staff who can do the cooking...?)
Yuzuru: If I manage to adjust other matters, I think I can ask Ai-san to help out around the dining area.
And maybe I can secure some time to help out in the kitchen.
Either way, we'll need a full-time person. And that’s why I asked Tomose.
Ito: Eh?
(.…..Did I mishear something? Just now, I think I just heard a name that didn't cross my mind even once.)
Yuzuru: As for the menu, I have some time tonight, so I think I can teach it to him.
Ito: …..Currently, Nina-san is responsible for most of the cooking work.
It may not be much, but I'd like to help out a little more.
If you don't mind, please let me join in too. As long as you don’t find me a bother.
Yuzuru: No way! Not at all. That would be great. But it looks like we'll be meeting a little late today.
We'll have to come early tomorrow, so please don't push yourself.
Ito: You don’t have to worry about that. I'm actually grateful to be able to review what we sell.
By the way, excuse me for asking this. Just to confirm...
The one who is in charge of the kitchen...
Yuzuru: .....? You heard it. It’s Tomose.
Onda Tomose from ST. Dept.
Ito: …..! (So my ears weren’t playing a trick on me!)

Digital Printing
The Search is On: How To Find The Right Print Shop In Los Angeles For You!
In an age where digital communication dominates, the significance of print materials should be considered. Whether you're a business owner seeking marketing collateral, a student needing a well-printed thesis, or someone looking to preserve memories through photo prints, finding the right Los Angeles Print Shop is crucial.
Tumblr media
The abundance of print shops in the market can be overwhelming, making it essential to consider various factors before deciding.
Define Your Needs:
Before bidding for the ideal print shop, clearly define your printing needs. Print shops specialize in various services such as business cards, Postcards, brochures, or custom merchandise.
Knowing precisely what you require will narrow your options and help you find a print shop that aligns with your needs.
Quality of Printing:
Quality is paramount when it comes to printed materials. Examine samples of the print shop's previous work or request samples before placing a large order.
Pay attention to details such as color accuracy, clarity, and the durability of the printed products. A reputable print shop will provide high-quality Printing Los Angeles that reflect positively on your business or personal projects.
Technology And Equipment:
The advancement of printing technology plays a significant role in the quality of the final product. Inquire about the type of printers and equipment the print shop uses.
Updated and well-maintained machinery is likely to produce better results. Additionally, some printing techniques, like offset or digital printing, may be more suitable for specific projects, so ensure the print shop has the appropriate technology for your requirements.
Turnaround Time:
Time is often of the essence, especially in business. Check the print shop's turnaround time to align with your schedule.
While quality is crucial, a print shop that can deliver excellent results within a reasonable timeframe is essential for meeting deadlines and staying on track with your projects.
Cost Considerations:
Cost is a significant factor in choosing a print shop. Get detailed quotes from different print shops and compare them.
Be wary of hidden fees, and ensure the cost includes all necessary services such as design, printing, and delivery.
While cost is significant, remember that the cheapest option may only sometimes provide the best quality.
Customer Service:
A print shop with excellent customer service can make the printing process smoother. Responsive and helpful staff can assist with design, offer recommendations, and address any concerns you may have.
youtube
Read reviews or seek recommendations to gauge the level of customer service the print shop provides.
Location:
The location of the print shop is another factor to consider when making a decision. Consider how often you will need to visit the print shop and how accessible it is to ensure you choose the most convenient option.
Conclusion:
When selecting a print shop, it is essential to consider multiple factors such as quality of printing, technology and equipment, turnaround time, cost considerations, and customer service.
Doing your research and comparing different print shops will help ensure that you make the best decision possible.
C&M Printing specializes in high-quality printing services for businesses and individuals. Our experienced team is dedicated to delivering results that exceed your expectations.

USPS Bulk Mailing Services Near Me
Whether you’re sending postcards or flyers, your bulk mail needs to be accurate. USPS address verification ensures that your data is clean and up-to-date before you print. This is important because human entry errors, ZIP Code changes, new construction, and annexation are common causes of poor-quality address data.
The USPS has a variety of postal rates for different types of mailings, but the one that most businesses use is Marketing Mail. Why You Should Order Postcards From Your Cheap Print Shop in Glendale
Postcards are a fantastic way to promote your business or brand. They’re easy to get into the hands of your customers and won’t cost you a fortune in advertising costs. Finding the right place to have them printed is important when you want a quality job without exceeding your budget. Our cheap print shop in Glendale is your best option. Keep reading to find out why postcards are such a great idea.
They are Affordable Chances are you have an advertising budget, so it makes sense to find ways to promote your company without spending too much. When it comes to targeted marketing, postcards happen to be the cheapest way to get our name out there. Postage is lower in cost than other mailing options and printing itself is also lower in cost than flyers, posters or billboards.
It’s Simple to Measure Their Impact When you start an advertising campaign, you need to know that it’s working. Postcards are easy to track because you know at the outset how many you mail out. You will also be able to keep track of subsequent contacts or inquiries as a result of the postcard. Many companies use postcards as test marketing to find out which methods bring in the most business.
They are Versatile As a business owner, you can use postcards in many different ways. Send out postcards to introduce a new product or service, or use them to advertise an event or show that you are hosting or participating in. Postcards are also a simple way to let customers know about a sale or to drive traffic to the company website.
They are Efficient Unlike traditional mailers, postcards aren’t in an envelope. That means that customers will see what you want them to see without having to open anything. This reduces the risk that your advertisement will simply be tossed in the trash without being looked at. You can expect your postcard to make an impression upon viewing, which is a great way to bring in new customers.
They Have a Big Impact Not only is it easy to measure the impact of postcard mailers, but you can expect them to have a pretty big impact before you do any of that measuring. Why? Because they are small, which means you have to keep it simple and to the point. Customers don’t have to page through a pamphlet or booklet to get to the point. You can use a combination of attending grabbing colors, graphics and designs to grab a potential customer’s attention.
They are Stealthy If you want to reach your customers without the competition knowing what you’re up to, postcards are a much stealthier way to do so than are billboards, radio advertisements or television commercials. When you send out postcards, only those on your mailing list will see them, which is a good way to get your offers and promotions out there, without the competition taking your ideas.
Ready to start your postcard campaign? You will love all of the benefits that the method has to offer, as well as how easy it is to get started when you place an order at a cheap print shop in Glendale. Let Printing Matters help you create the perfect postcard for your brand. Contact us today to get your postcards mailed out in no time at all.

Print Postcards in Bulk
Postcards are a highly effective, cost-efficient marketing tool for promoting discounts, grand openings and events, services, new products and more to a targeted audience. They also serve as great fundraising tools for nonprofits.
Tumblr media
We offer 1st & 3rd class bulk mailing options. Choose the option that best suits your needs.
If you are looking to reach a larger audience, consider Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM). You will be able to select your specific targeted area and choose to have us pick up your mailing list or you can upload your own.
When choosing the size of your postcard, make sure to leave room for the essential information and a central image or visual. The smaller postcard sizes of 4" x 6" and 5" x 7" provide a good balance between space and cost. For a more substantial feel, we recommend our 14pt or 16pt cover stock.
Postcards that have a glossy finish on one side are more eye-catching but require more care to maintain compared to our matte paper options. To maintain the shine and keep your postcards looking new, apply a layer of varnish to each side before use.
Custom postcard printing is not the cheapest option as it requires a large amount of time to adjust the machinery to accommodate your unique size. However, if you stick to the standard sizes of 4" x 6", 4.25" x 5.5", 5" x 7" or 6.25" x 9" (EDDM eligible) we can print them for you at a much more affordable price.

Is Direct Mail Expensive?
A direct mail campaign is a smart investment that can yield big returns. The cost of such a campaign can vary, however. While some pieces may cost $10 or more, smaller efforts can be budgeted by a small business.
Tumblr media
Costs can also vary depending on the type of mailing list and design. Some companies offer free templates or discount codes for their customers.
A good direct mail campaign will not only improve brand awareness and reinforce customer loyalty, it can be a boon for your bottom line. It can provide a higher return on investment (ROI) than digital marketing.
The costs associated with a direct mail campaign can be difficult to calculate. There are several factors to consider, including copywriting, design, and postage rates.
The cost of producing a postcard or catalog is largely dependent on the size and weight of each piece. Larger items will cost more, while printing in bulk can save you money. Choosing a cheaper printer or design agency can also help.
While it is not the cheapest part of a direct mail campaign, the postage rate is a pricier component. Depending on the type of mailer, a single postcard can cost $0.20 to $0.60, and a catalog can cost up to $0.60.
youtube
One way to reduce direct mail cost is to print in bulk. Many printers will offer discounts when you order in larger quantities. Similarly, it can be cheaper to use an in-house copywriter or graphic designer rather than hiring an outside agency.

Cost to Print and Mail Postcards
Printing and mailing postcards is a great way to advertise your business. These simple marketing pieces communicate with your customers and prospects quickly, and are inexpensive to mail. However, the cost of printing and mailing postcards can vary depending on several factors.
Tumblr media
One of the most important factors is the size of the postcard. Larger postcards are more expensive to print, but they have more room for design. If your postcard is too small, you may not be able to fit all the information you need.
The price per postcard also depends on the quantity you order. If you have a large mailing list, it will be cheaper to send a few thousand postcards than a few hundred. The same goes for smaller lists.
The color of the postcard is also a factor. The best way to ensure that your postcards look crisp and colorful is by using a CMYK color system. If your postcard needs a UV gloss coating, this will add to the cost.
Lastly, you should consider the turnaround time. This is the time it takes to print and mail the postcards. Using a printer that can turnaround your postcards in two days is less expensive. But using a printer that can turn around 3,000 postcards in two days is more expensive.
youtube
You should also think about your data processing options. The USPS offers EDDM, Standard Mail, and First-Class Mail, which can all offer different benefits. The EDDM program is the cheapest and allows you to target neighborhoods.

ordered a couple more 4x6 albums so i can store my kpop postcards lol; had so much trouble finding ones with plain covers i just went with the cheapest not-ugly option. sadly i don’t think michaels stocks the one i bought previously which turned out to be a really good one....
i need to buy a couple more different size albums to hold the other photos/cards/prints that are odd-sized and don’t fit into my current albums. i also want to buy an album or two for the art prints i won’t be framing.......i’m probably going to need a new bookcase, too. maybe just a small one i can dedicate to kpop collection and then that will free up space for more of my books/manga.
although i don’t really want to buy more furniture when idk if i’m going to renew my lease next year! i don’t want to fill my room with heavy furniture if i’m going to have to move it later..!! <--- girl who is lazy and does not like lifting heavy objects
i keep thinking abt this one tweet i saw that was like ‘you all need to get hobbies that don’t involve (passive?) consumption’. like on one hand i get it, on the other hand even a creative hobby like drawing or sewing requires SOME other media consumption after a certain level so you’re gonna have to be more specific than that, i think. but that tweet has made me aware that a lot of my ‘hobbies’ are just buying thing + consuming thing + rinse & repeat. and they’re not like......a HOBBY hobby, i guess?
listening to music is an easy hobby. watching anime is an easy hobby. i am so tired at the end of the day it’s just easier to sit down and watch/listen than actively draw or sew or journal.
...i do miss journaling, though, like i miss sitting down and writing about my day and organizing my weeks/projects and making silly lists.....if i ever get a desk or table space for myself, i want to try it again.
