This is Posty. She is the mascot of My Little Pony Trading Post, an old school forum dedicated to toy collecting, or almost anything pony-related.

This took me some time. This is not easy, but I did it. The original concept has 3 Carrier pigeons flying around as her helper, showing her map and clock. I changed it into one Fairy Tail giving her a card because I didn't want to draw 3 birds. I apologize about the watermark.

On December 28th 1908 Postman Robert  Cunningham set off in blizzard conditions from Ballantrae to deliver the mail to the Glenapp residents. less than 2 miles away.

Another one from one of the Great storms of the Early 20th century, Robert Cunningham died at the age of 27 after being forced to take a detour across moors near the Ayrshire village of Ballantrae.

He froze to death alone just a short distance from his home.

The Postman's Gazette of January 30, 1909, recording the incident, stating: '

'Robert Cunningham, of Ballantrae, Ayrshire, found on the

morning of the 28th of December, that, owing to the fall of snow

overnight, it would be impossible for him to do his usual route --

Ballantrae to Glenapp and back -- with his pony and gig. He therefore decided to carry the mails through on his back.

''This he managed successfully; but on his return journey he was

overcome by the severe blizzard, and, three days later, was found dead

in the snow.''

Members of the Postman's Union erected a cross in 1909 to commemorate

''the heroic attempt of a comrade who lost his life in a noble attempt

to do his duty''.

Reports at the time said: "Weather conditions outside the sheltered glen were terrible, and when Robert did arrive home his brother Matthew and two friends set off to meet him.

"Failing to find him, and almost exhausted, they were sure he must have remained at one of the hospitable houses on his route, and returned home.

"The fact that he was missing became certain on the Wednesday and a search was organised. His body was found on the Thursday afternoon, lying his empty mail sack and covered by the snow."

In 1991 the Memorial was restored at the expense of the Union of Communications Workers and rededicated on 20th. September 1992.

no kiss ready in 35 minutes - had Robert Schofield and Dobson - till 9 ½ set the one levelling dressing down near dry bridge for the new railing and paid the other his bill for rag wheel stones, drain stones etc - dullish finish morning F56° at 9 ½ am - breakfast 9 35 in ½ hour - from 10 10 to 1 standing over Robert Schofield and his man Joseph Smith levelling for new railing near dry bridge under Road wall embankment in front of the house  and dressing up near garden middle door - then walking till about 2 - then a few minutes with my father and Marian at the at their dinner and with A- and she and I with my aunt a few minutes reading her printed letter A- had received for me this morning by the postman or by John - a quiz up the blue festivities (ball and dinner) - myself being named among many other persons - saw A- off on her pony to Cliff hill about 2 ¾ - from then to 6 ½ with Robert Schofield  dressing up the walk near the middle garden door or with Joseph Smith and Robert Mann ¼ hour setting out embouchure of new drift - to be 300 yards before getting to gall then to drive 200 yards farther and would get more water than we have already got - no Holt today as yesterday A- came back at 6 - and I came in at 6 ½ - dinner at 6 40 - had SW- to coffee - 20 minutes with my father and Marian - wrote the above of today till 10 5 - fine day - ½ hour with my aunt till 10 35 at which hour F57°
