The story so far with the PowerMac G3 so far...

I've got the system set up at my desk. It powers on and can boot from a Mac OS 8.5 setup disk, but...the hard drive (or hard drive controller. Would rather not go there...) is dead, and the OS 8 setup program doesn't like the Apple USB keyboard I have connected. I do have a lot of old SATA drives lying around, so I've ordered a PATA to SATA bridge. As to the keyboard, I'll have to do some poking around to see if there's a way to "help" OS 8 recognize it. More to do...
