The power of fashion

Some would pretend not to be concerned by fashion, and actually, it is possible to be, but it isn’t easy. Nowadays, fashion is present everywhere, and it dictates many rules to follow. And what about my personal experience with fashion? How much power has it upon me?

           Well, indeed, I must say that being in a French private middle school, my fellow students were richer than the average French people, and thus, they were all well dressed, in a classical way, but with expensive brands such as Burberry, carrying bags such as Gérard Darel’s. And what I can say is that those students had a really critical look when it came to fashion. So, I think, the gaze of those persons was the first way fashion reached to me.

           Afterwards, when arriving in high school (still a private one, therefore, still under the pressure the gaze of those teenagers), I began to be influenced by the looks of the stars of my favourite TV shows, and back then, I was really fond of Gossip Girl, a show about teens in the Upper East Side of New-York, and to copy the main character, I began reading Vogue magazine each month, and thus fashion kept influencing me.

           Now, I always keep an eye on what is coming next in the world of fashion by reading magazines such as Glamour or Be (etc.)  and there, by seeing their sum up of the many fashion weeks, my favourite being the Parisian one.

The best thing about fashion is the fact that everyone doesn't stay looking the same for too long! I love how often trends are changing, coming and going as some people like a trend so much they end up sticking to it rather than moving on and adapting to the latest trend that everyone does. What goes around comes back around!
