El objetivo de este ensayo es investigar e informar a cerca de una forma innovadora de combustibles, pasta de magnesio, usados en vehículos eléctricos.

“Powerpaste” es una pasta a base de hidrógeno de fácil manipulación y almacenamiento a su vez tiene 10 veces la densidad de energía que una batería ion litio, que se usará como combustible para vehículos eléctricos, en especial motocicletas eléctricas de hidrógeno.

La pasta fue desarrollada por el instituto Fraunhofer en Alemania y la problemática que atendieron fue que el transporte de hidrógeno se puede mezclar muy fácil en la pasta y al utilizar agua como catalizador puede brindarle a un vehículo energía, además de que esto eliminaría la red de estaciones de servicio para vehículos eléctricos, la organización alemana de investigación desde hace unos años ha estado investigando nuevas formas de suministrar energía por medio de hidrógeno.

Se considera el hidrógeno por sus características químicas para brindar energía, al día de hoy ya existen y funcionan en varias partes del mundo los automóviles eléctricos impulsados por hidrógeno, el problema es que necesitan 700 bar de presión los tanques reforzados en los vehículos de gran tamaño para abastecerse de combustible, entonces al ser implementados en vehículos más pequeños la presión tendría que ser mayor, algo que se volvería incontrolable.

La conclusión a la que puedo llegar es que puede que el hidrógeno sea el combustible del futuro, los tanques de hidrógeno en los automóviles son una solución aceptable, en mi opinión la mejor ya que por lo que entiendo los automóviles eléctricos a hidrógeno, no alteran el ciclo del hidrógeno, algo que es lamentable es que la pasta necesita agua para poder usarse en la motocicleta o scooter en cuestión, probablemente estén buscando una forma de utilizar la pasta sin la necesidad de utilizar agua.
