Butterfly Effect AU Refs (WILL BE UPDATED LATER)

Ok, the art might be a bit different from my current style as it is an old art piece, I have plans to update it in the future. So for those of you who have followed me on other sites might be familiar with my AUs and this is one of the 2 of the main AUs I have, being of Butterfly Effect AU. Which essentially the PPG and RRB have fell into their own tragic fates after experiencing an incident in each of their own lives, some being different of the same. More will be posted later on! Whether reposted or posting new things! So hope you guys like!

bunny ramble

bunny is the most endearing of her sisters and, despite her composition, a very open and genuine individual. some of it may come down to learning impairment, but for the most part her honesty and kindness are just a part of who she is.

there's an irony in the fact that she embodies a lot of humanity's positive qualities - empathy, warmth, mercy - while being made up of artificial ingredients that led to her disfigurement. to think she resonates with never judging a book by its cover is both accurate and also bittersweet, knowing how people will perceive her on first-glance only to learn what she's really like if they want to put in the effort.

it's a little sad, but mostly it's quite helpful. there's nobody bunny wants to be around less than the types of people who look down on others just because of their appearance. the shallow and judgmental are hardly enjoyable company.

at her core, bunny's just a gentle giant who offers kindness in spades. she cherishes her friendships, especially the bonds she has with her sisters, and looks at any interaction with a stranger as an opportunity to brighten their day. to bunny, it just doesn't make any sense to want to take your anger out on people, to hurt them.

that doesn't make her naive, however. maybe as a child - but what child isn't? as she grows, so does bunny's understanding of the world. she recognizes that she's lucky to have the safe and caring environment of the utonium household to explore the world from, with the support of her family, rather than having learned about cruelty and neglect the much harder way.

bunny is maybe a little too aware, as the subject of injustice and prejudice are both something she experiences from time to time, but also a subject she dives into head-first in her endeavor to understand.

her curiosity gained her a lot of friends in the long-run, too. curiosity over after-school clubs, in charity events, fundraisers, any kind of new experience has led to her making at least a few friends along the way and ultimately she's happier for it. bunny's a natural social butterfly.

she also learns a lot through other people. the connection she has with others opens bunny up to plenty of different worldviews and personalities to navigate, and over time probably led to her being a lot more compassionate and empathetic (as in, given time to hone in those skills.) while bunny may struggle with other forms of communication, there's still an innate fascination with all the different ways that people talk to each other and convey their feelings.

especially when it comes in the form of fantasy. turns out she's a bit of an enthusiast. bunny is just so imaginative; falls in love with fantasy-adventure books, comics, tv shows - anything within the genre bunny is probably obsessed with.

introduced to it through a D&D after-school club. made some geeky friends there, related a lot to some of the neurodivergent kids and how they projected onto their little characters as a way to explore and engage with the world. in particular, bunny really enjoyed the adventure - it was a way for her to pretend that she's somewhat similar to her sisters, that she can help people like a hero too, even if only as a fictional character in a fictional world.

bunny won't say that's why she likes D&D, or other roleplay games. she wouldn't want her sisters to feel bad. it's not like she feels bad, either, just that bunny is very much aware that there are some things she missed out on growing up. there was plenty of bad things she blissfully avoided too, so it's kind of a win-win.

in a way, bunny is kind of a hero without knowing it. her presence in a lot of the under-18s communities helps and inspires a lot more people than she realizes. she's always happy to lend a hand or ear to whoever needs it; being at communal events in the city always provides a safe space for people who feel like they don't belong. bunny's known as this tender, compassionate girl who doesn't judge whoever seeks out her company.

she always shows up to charity events with baked goods, drinks, etc. always looking out for people. a very steady presence and somebody that a lot of kids know they can rely on. it's nice.

(there's an enjoyment in the semi-anonymity too, that bunny isn't liked for being a powerpuff girl. she's liked for being bunny.)

she and buttercup get along best out of her sisters, probably in part because of their similar mentality in regard to what being 'a powerpuff girl' tends to bring down on them. while different, it's still insightful.

there's also the fact that buttercup is unapologetic for bringing bunny into the world. where blossom and bubbles obviously love here, but maybe pity bunny for the presumed suffering they seem to think she goes through, buttercup is simply happy bunny is here. maybe she'd do it differently in retrospect, but there's nothing about bunny's existence that makes buttercup regret her.

buttercup doesn't shy away from any kind of activity with bunny. a lot of the time they play sport - they're especially partial to soccer - though they spend time together doing plenty of other things too. it's nice to connect with buttercup on a more tomboyish front, knowing bunny fulfills a side of buttercup that is otherwise neglected (not maliciously, per se,) when it comes to their sisters' interests.

in general, they just have a lot of overlaps. buttercup both gets bunny, but not enough that it becomes predictable or boring. there's enough individuality between the two of them to enjoy each other and build a genuine friendship.

because of bunny's impartialness, she's somebody buttercup can lean on when she needs somebody to talk to or to vent her frustrations without being interrupted by meddling or being brushed off.

which isn't to say neither of them aren't close to blossom and bubbles; they are, just differently.

and not to be too tropey with bunny, but i think she'd fit in with the four main kids from 'mojo jonesin'.

mary, jeff, joey, and kim - some of them were kids who stood out from the rest in some way and wanted to compensate for it by having superpowers.

i think when bunny's younger she probably empathizes with them a lot, and they get closer; i also think they share an interest in roleplaying games, or action-fantasy adventures, etc. because of this.

//💔 she didn't die in my heart i love her so much. post is a little unrefined cus i'm making this on the fly. i was just overcome with thoughts abt bunny. i used to draw her all the time; her friendship with buttercup is so special !! i feel so bad that i rarely ever talk about bunny when she's a character i actually really like despite the single episode she featured. it's just that i only ever really involve bunny in projects focused solely on the powerpuff girls, since when i talk broadly it's hard to include all 9 - let alone 10. that being said, i don't think she'd have a lot of relevance to the rest of the characters, hence not including her. i worry she'd be drowned out; especialy because she doesn't have any counterparts - kristen and kim (both purple themed) don't count /j i didn't really want to turn this into a dispute on bunny's relationship with her learning disability and disfigurements, or anything focused on what she actually looks like, or any kind of ableism-related struggles she may have - but i do want to say i do think those aspects of her character would be important, as a rule. i just kind of wanted to ramble about the positives. i love bunny a lot !! 😭

Buttercup is a bug, a cave dweller, a natural born miner. Punching rocks. I think she'd do well underground I think she could power through the most dangerous of caves.

Bubbles is a fish, a sea dweller. Because her name is goddamn BUBBLES and also. In the show she has an octopus plushie so. Obviously.

Blossom is a bird, a sky dweller, because she's smart like many birds are known to be and also so I could give her glasses. She already has good eyes, but these are made to enhance them or whatever. Also, the sky sapheans control weather and Blossom had ice breath in the show so.

And, blessed bonus, Bunny is a normal type with the bat-wing mutation because she's my special girl.
