Remember when there were blogs around like “ur fave is homophobic!” and “ur fave is transphobic!” and we just let that happen bc we convinced ourselves homophobia was a funny joke now and not a real issue

#that’s what I think of every time I see one of those ‘‘ur fave is’’ blogs #this is ofc a broader issue I have where like #a large number of ppl seem to think it’s actually funny to joke abt being homophobic or whatever #and then terfs and alt-right weirdos just do it unironically and we all assume they’re in on the joke #it happened fucking constantly and every time I brought it up to someone they’d be like ‘‘lol but im gay what’s the problem’’#not that even that is an excuse when like. hi hello. I was in conversion therapy I’ve met plenty of homophobic gays #ppl who have internalized their homophobia and act out violently abt it due to that abuse #and that’s like. not to mention gays who r transphobic (there’s a lot of those)#anyway tldr don’t make homophobia into a meme pls and thanks #rambles #ask to tag
