@nightndaypropertymaintenance did a lot today! Dave put in new back steps, mounted a shelf/handrail next to the steps (more about that in another post), replaced some trim on the shed, and did a first coat of paint on our wrought iron railing. He also put up some plant brackets for me. Project-Based Learning that can be used when teaching multiple subjects

More and more teachers are using Project-Based Learning (PBL) in their classrooms. PBL is an instructional strategy in which students work cooperatively over time to create a product, presentation or performance. Two essential components are (1) an engaging and motivating question and (2) a product that meaningfully addresses that question. I strongly believe that using Project-Based Learning  helps to boost student engagement because they are given the opportunity to contribute to the class. I also love the idea of being able to use this in any class, no matter what subject you teach. One of the most difficult things for teachers to do when they first start trying to use PBL is letting go of some control of the classroom and trusting in students.
