Symbolism
Human species seem to have a fascination towards the use of symbols, and there is no reason why it shouldn't happen for it is symbolism that has enabled us to form structures of communication, calculation, categorization, etc. It is this ability ours to separately reflect on the world without a stimulus-response sequence that is called a symbol.
The first known civilization, Sumer, had traces of script and language. From there the advancement of symbolism has been reflected in naturally occurring objects such as trees, branches, sun, moon, etc., & human-made objects such as brooms, carpets, prison, etc., or even abstract shapes such as numbers, squares, circles, etc., have assumed to have symbolic significance.
Symbols initially were meant to be denotative, but with one's experiences with the symbolized, the symbols form connotative associations. It is because of those associations built in the unconscious, the study of symbols in the psyche has been significant.

It is because of those associations built in the unconscious, the study of symbols in the psyche has been significant, and it is these associations that find expression through language, music, art, or religion. We, with our symbol making propensity in language, have separated our world into nouns and verbs, where, names are denotative of things, and verbs are denotative of events, for names are what take part in the verb or make the verb happen. If this becomes the basis of our communication and thinking, and if we use only this method to understand the world by fragmenting it, we then would create a fragmented reality. Money, for example, is one of the most fluid symbols, so much so, where it symbolizes the all goods assumed for wellbeing i.e., wealth, but, in our everyday common sense, money has almost become synonymous to wealth, we presume a wealthy person must have a lot of money and therefore might be in a state of wellbeing. We are so used to symbolizing that we might mistake the symbols for being the symbolized, or in this case, we might believe, symbols get you to the symbolized. In the first part of the paper, I intend to experiment with ideas revolving around symbolism, further playing around with them to realize their depth in an individual, primarily, and then in collective. This area of research seems to be significant as it focuses on a somewhat innate nature of mind, hence allowing it to be subliminal as perception is built upon or based on the primary or initial built ideas which may seem so obvious that it remains unchecked. In later stages, I now, also see myself looking at how symbolism impacted the endeavors of ‘visual arts’ broadly speaking. I feel I’d be more open to new, fascinating ideas and be more experimental, improvisational while generating inferences.
