Gemerlap Graduation

Beberapa waktu lalu banyak orangtua yang mempermasalahkan tentang besarnya biaya acara graduation atau acara pesta kelulusan yang dirasa terlalu berlebihan atau kurang penting terutama untuk anak-anak sekolah di jenjang sekolah usia dini , PAUD, TK hingga SD.

Menurut para orangtua, graduation ini belum dipahami anak-anak yang masih terlalu kecil dan faedahnya gak ada. Apalagi juga harus keluar uang tambahan untuk sebuah acara yang anak-anak pun belum paham.

Soal pendidikan pasti selalu ada pro kontra. Gak usah soal graduation, soal tidak diwajibkannya pintar calistung untuk tes masuk SD pun jadi perdebatan.

Sebagai orangtua, bisa dibilang sejauh ini saya termasuk orangtua yang sedikit protes soal apapun . Soal pendidikan kah , soal harga bahan pokok naik kah , soal kemacetan kah dll. Bukan sok pro pemerintah, tapi protes pun buat apa. Bukan juga pasrah manut aja. Karena memutuskan sesuatu pun pasti tidak pernah mudah.

Jangankan soal keputusan pemerintah, keputusan yang dibuat perusahaan aja seringkali beda satu dan lainnya. Kalau sudah diputuskan, di protes pun jawabannya hanya "Keputusan manajemen sudah seperti itu."

Apalagi soal pemerintahan, pendidikan suatu negara dan pernik-perniknya.

Soal graduation alias pesta kelulusan ini rasanya tidak pernah ada aturan pemerintah yang mewajibkan. Tapi, semakin kesini memang semakin banyak sekolah-sekolah yang menjalankannya. Kita tidak akan bahas soal kenapa mahalnya dan suudzon perihal dananya dikemanakan yaa…

Sebagai yang pernah merasakan wisuda ketika SD (karena kebetulan sekolah swasta), dan bahkan ketika lulus kuliah , jujur gegap gempita di hati rasanya tidak ada. Ketika jenjang SMP dan SMA bisa dibilang saya agak lupa bagaimana rasanya selain banyak-banyak berdoa supaya lulus dan nilai bagus. Kebetulan juga saya bukan orang yang dulu sering ditunjuk untuk tampil di depan. Sebagai anak rumahan hasrat tampil rasanya masih terkekang.

Lalu, apakah orangtua saya sebagai penyokong dana satu-satunya ketika itu berbahagia menyambut wisuda-wisuda dan acara perpisahan kelulusan anaknya ??

Seingat saya, dari yang bisa saya ingat Ayah dan Ibu saya begitu bangga dengan adanya Graduation Ceremonial, ketika saya SD seperti semacam stimulasi menyaksikan saya di wisuda betulan ketika dewasa nanti. Yang kebetulan, ketika kuliah hanya ibu saya yang bisa menyaksikannya karena ayah sudah berpulang. Beda hal dengan acara musik atau perform anak sekolahan pasca kelulusan, sebagai Maha Orang Tua Rumahan, tentu orangtua saya tidak suka.

Ngeliat saya coret-coret seragam saja mereka langsung istighfar, karena orangtua saya lebih suka melihat sesuatu dalam bentuk upacara atau ceremonial yang terasa lebih hikmad dan sakral. Bisa lulus tepat waktu ditambah dengan nilai yang bagus adalah satu-satunya hal yang patut dirayakan di keluarga saya, bahkan hari lahir pun lewat. Saya ingat betapa rapih nya Ayah pakai baju batik, dan Ibu yang dandan cantik maksimal untuk anaknya yang ada di peringkat tiga di kelasnya.

Padahal waktu saya jadi "anak" perasaan saya biasa aja selain kepingin sekali dipanggil jadi yang nomor satu di kelasnya biar Ayah dan Ibu makin bangga.

Belasan tahun kemudian, saya di wisuda, lulus kuliah. IPK 3, sekian tinggal sedikiiit saja untuk bisa dapat slempang cum laude. Tapi gagal. Itu pun Ibu sudah sangat bangga dan semangat meminta saya mengikuti tradisi di kampus naik kereta kelinci , foto bareng teman-teman dan semacamnya, tidak lupa foto studi sekeluarga sambil bawa ijazah dan pakai baju toga. Bangga betul Ibu saya.

Dan kini, setelah jadi Orangtua saya menghadapi pro kontra soal pesta wisuda. Kebetulan anak saya baru akan sekolah tahun depan, tapi saya diberikan kesempatan memandu acara graduation kakak tingkatnya lebih dulu.

Di awal, rasanya "Waaahhh heboh sekali yaaa acara kelulusan TK."

Tapi setelah satu per satu menyaksikan setiap anak yang tampil, dari adik tingkatnya hingga sang superstar yang akan di wisuda, saya menyaksikan sendiri kebanggan orangtua disana.

Betapa mereka gemas dengan tingkah anak-anaknya, ikut sibuk menyiapkan kostum selucu mungkin, dan ikut terharu melihat si kakak tingkat di wisuda.

Saya sendiri membayangkan foto anak saya ada di layar pun pasti akan heboh sendiri, sibuk mengabadikan setiap sekecil apapun momen yang tertangkap ketika dia berkegiatan di sekolah.

Apalagi, Tuhan berikan saya dan suami saya anak yang suka sekali tampil. Makin saya ingin menyaksikan dia ada di atas panggung dengan penuh percaya diri dan kami pasti akan begitu bangganya melihat gerak gerik tingkah lucunya. Saya tidak akan bahas soal biaya, tapi sekarang apa sih yang gak mahal ? Apa sih yang gak perlu biaya ? Anak sekolah aja udah mahaaaal, rasanya pengap harus ditambah dengan pengeluaran tambahan. Betul kan ?

Tapi bukankah kalau di awal memasukkan anak ke suatu sekolah berarti sudah harus siap dengan biaya-biaya lain yang ditimbulkan ?? Tenang, saya juga bukan si paling kaya , rumah juga masih ikut mertua. Malah sedang atur keuangan seketatnya. Kalau memang tidak suka dengan acara serupa , graduation , tampil di panggung , lomba dan semacamnya sebaiknya jadikan sebagai salah satu pertimbangan di awal memilih sekolah. Karena jangan salah, tampil-tampil untuk acara sekolah juga ada biaya, dari siapa lagi kalo bukan kita , para orang tua. (sgc)

So that each child develops a love for discovery, forms a personality of their own, and learns to respect others.

According to the Reggio Emilia Approach, all children have full potential with an innate sense of curiosity and endless imagination. They are creative, capable of constructing their learning. And they have a birth interest to explore while they follow their interests. They also stay connected with others. Adults nurture the education of children by providing a rich environment and support. Instead of a one-size-fits-all curriculum, Reggio Emilia uses a child-centered approach.

Children are active participators in their learning

Unique reciprocal relationship with their teachers

They believe the child has a hundred languages. That means Children have multiple ways to express themselves

Waldorf

The Waldorf education system was developed by Rudolf Steiner nearly 100 years ago. He was an Austrian philosopher, social reformer, and visionary. Waldorf Preschool Programs primarily focus on engaging the head, heart, and hands, or we can say they focus on thinking, feeling, and doing. And they build up these focus areas using academic, arts, and practical skill curriculums in Waldorf Preschool Programs.

Anyhow, Waldorf preschool programs may differ from one to another according to the culture, geography areas, group size, ages, and teacher’s approach. But their principle is to develop the primary three focus areas.  

Waldorf programs share the following fundamental characteristics.

First of all, this article is not an activity list. This article will explain the significance of doing preschool activities at home. Just think for a second, are your kids saturated by mobile phones, TVs, or Laptops? I think the answer will be Yes for most of you. That will build a strong foundation for team-working and leadership in a child’s mind.

What are the activities that children relish?

They like to enjoy their activities. So always remember to do the learning activities with fun. Don’t tell them that they are learning. Teach them through fun activities, and it is the best-proven method to teach kids at preschool age. Also, make sure to appreciate them at the end of an exercise. Tell them that “they are awesome.” Give them Star marks. Also, make sure to correct them if they are doing something wrong. And never give an appreciation if they do not deserve it. Because if you do so, they won’t try to improve themselves.
