I am having a very rough time of it lately and would love some pretty dragons to look at. Might get around to drawing busts of some this week! I could really use a (creative) distraction.

Please show me your silliest and most talkative dragons. The story tellers, the lore keepers, the class clowns, the dragons that are like if an exclamation point was a personality ! I think that would cheer me up :,)

So I've been working on this pair of Sandsurges since they came out, and I've finally gotten to the point they just need a wasp gene each.

This is Deep Rising 7 (and a detail of the dragon), a piece my mom commissioned. She was undecided on whether she wanted an angel or a "pretty" dragon, so we decided that we would just include both.

The angel has a lot of Art Nouveau influence. I'm a fan of Alphonse Mucha's work, among others, and I delight in the frilly details.

The dragon has its inspiration in both fish and butterflies - no particular species; just a generalized "I like eye spots" kind of thing.

I made this with Prismacolor pencil over watercolor. This is from before I started doing a lot of ink drawing ahead of time, so I think there's an overall lighter look to the piece.

I like G1 doubles and low-digit ID dragons as well as the next person, but I have as much (or more) fun finding pretty, cheap G1s and making breeding pairs of them. I hatched one of these and found the other for 50g on the AH. Stonewash/pearl/robin and stonewash/pearl/lapis.

I've had a beast of a cold for the last few days, but I wanted to get this out before the new year! while I've sort of made my peace with my first take on Lilia's UM poster, I really wanted to do a version with the new context that chapter 6 gave us. because. c'mon.
