note notifications are so fucking annoying too idg the appeal at all
i always regret making popular posts the notifications are so annoying but you can't turn them off in case someone posts absolute bullshit you need to respond to. also you have to use an extension to turn them off on single posts otherwise you hide notifications from people you care about and ugh

(this was too long for a reply) i can see what u mean with it coming across as rude but i don't think that post was anywhere near as harmful as pro-ana shit itself since anorexia is a legitimate disorder with legitimate consequences & i dont really agree with the fetishization of it? like losing weight is great and i know this is easier said than done but just try to do it through healthy means bb (also sorry if this comes across as condescending? i don't mean it to)
i think it's all just a shitty cycle and both sides are equally to blame for the prevalence of eating disorders.
i came into it because i felt like shit from the exact same type of people, who said 'just eat and feel good about yourself and lose weight normally you freak'.
then people who CAN'T eat and feel good and lose weight normally turn to bulimia and anorexia and extreme dieting because they have nowhere else to go, and say those things because since they can't celebrate being normal why not celebrate being broken.
there's also this weird association of anorexics/bulimics that aren't in the eat-or-die phase with being too lazy to put in the effort to lose weight, when, in fact, most of us do more exercise than those that condemn us. every turn that someone with an ED makes is met with 'no that's not right' without telling them what is right.
we get mixed signals all the time with 'wow! you look so good now that you've lost all that weight!' and in the same breath 'you're not starving yourself, are you? that's so stupid!'
nobody can make their mind up on what to do with eating disorders, and until they do people are left in the crosshairs.
if i could do it normally, don't you think i would?
