Okay, about Larry Stylinson. You’re right, I did fall into YouTube Blackhole. And Twitter. And I just watched 1D San Siro concert. By watching, I mean I actually paused the work I’m doing and looked at the screen while it played. Admittedly I was also doing chores but! It wasn’t just background music! It counted!

When I said I could put Larry Stylinson in a microwave and be done with it, I mean the theories and compilation videos are so readily available and easy to digest like, comparable to instant meals.

It’s so neatly packaged, too. Like, I was introduced to Larry Stylinson basically yesterday. Now I could recite the storyline in my head whenever I please. Or when I want to please you, in this case.

It made so much sense if they were already sort-of friends and then got put together in a band. Plus, I don’t think the way Louis jumped into Harry’s arms is something a relative stranger would do. And if they only knew each other out of everyone there, it’s no wonder they were both so apparently clingy and codependent. It’s like a situation where both of them went ‘I have no idea what’s gonna happen next, but at least I know you and you know me. So we’re bestie now. No take back!”

There’s a twofold marketing exploitation to Larry Stylinson that I see from miles away.

If that’s who she is, then bless her soul. However, for the sake of this argument, we will proceed with the assumption that she’s the star employee of the decade.

Losing loved ones and grieving for them are inevitable parts of human lives. Nothing put more things into perspectives than losing someone so fundamentally dear to you. When I heard Louis Tomlinson’s ‘Two of Us’ for the first time, I remembered walking through an actual forest my grandpa planted for us because he wanted to make sure his great grandkids would have a nice home to grow up in. Do you remember when you called and told me that he died the night I got on my first solo international flight ten months after the fact? I wanted to hate you for keeping something this big a secret from me. I wanted to hate everybody at home for that. But then you told me that it was what my grandpa had wanted. If you buy the theory, then the good news is both Fine Line & Walls seemed to have a positive ending. One thing I know for sure, though, is that no matter how convincing a conspiracy theory maybe, it could all be built upon a faulty assumption. I’d probably have a way easier time disregarding Elouner if I didn’t have you as a solid proof in my life that, yes, people like the best autocorrect exists. It’s funny how I feel no hesitation at all in categorizing Haylor as a calculated move. Because in my head that’s just par for the course in business. And it genuinely terrifies me in a way. In eerste instantie waren wij van plan om de keuze-opdracht ontwerpen te doen. Maar na twee lessen bedenken wat we gingen maken besloten kwamen we niet verder dan een voorkom wurgketting. Oftewel we waren niet echt in een creatieve bui. We besloten dus om toch een andere opdracht te kiezen die ons toch interessanter leek. Dat werd concept ontwikkelen. Toen moesten we een artiest gaan uitzoeken. We wilden graag een muzikant. We zeiden allebei Beyoncé, maar wilden toch nog even verder kijken. We hebben nog gedacht aan Lady Gaga om te koppelen aan een goed doel tegen verkrachting of om te strijden voor de rechten van de LGTB mensen, maar bleven toch bij Beyoncé. Toen moesten we een goed doel gaan kiezen. We hebben haar levensverhaal opgezocht en hadden een aantal zaken waar we een goed doel bij konden kiezen, waaronder miskraam, kind prostitutie en tegen racisme. We hebben gekozen voor kind prostitutie. We hebben gezocht naar organisaties die daar projecten voor hebben. We zijn uitgekomen bij de organisatie Humanium. Die organisatie vecht tegen alle vormen van het verwaarlozen van kinderrechten. We zijn van plan om haar een nieuwe hit te laten maken waarvan de opbrengst naar die organisatie gaat. Voor de videoclip gaat ze op bezoek bij kinderen die geholpen zijn door Humanium. Ook kiest ze daar kinderen die als achtergrond dansers mogen optreden als Beyoncé zingt op een speciaal georganiseerd Benefietconcert voor de organisatie Humanium. De opbrengst van dit concert gaat ook naar de organisatie. Toen we aan de slag gingen bedachten we ons dat er nog een stichting is die zich inzet voor kinderprostitutie en dat we daar al zelf meer over wisten dus zijn we gegaan voor ‘free a girl’. We gingen op de site kijken voor informatie. We willen Beyoncé een paar concerten laten de doen vlak bij de plekken waar free a girl projecten heeft. Ook willen we dan andere artiesten ook optredens laten doen. Voor de presentatie van het concept maakten we een PowerPoint. Daarin wilden we eerst wat vertellen over de organisatie free a girl. Dus we gingen op de site zoeken voor informatie. Die informatie hebben we in de powerpoint gezet. In de dia daarna hebben we uitgelegd waarom we denken dat Beyoncé en de organisatie bij elkaar horen. Om de slagingskans te bekijken hebben we opgezocht met welke andere goede doelen Beyoncé verbonden is. Dit blijken vooral stichtingen voor kinderen te zijn. Dus wij verwachten dat ze zich wel in wil zetten voor free a girl. Daarna geven we uitleg over hoe we het lied en de videoclip voor ons zien. We willen graag een vrolijk gevoel bij de mensen oproepen vandaar dat we de beat van het lied up-tempo willen hebben. In de videoclip willen we veel kleur en vrolijke kinderen. Maar wel willen we tussendoor beelden van verdrietige kinderen zodat het contrast duidelijk wordt. Het is de bedoeling dat de kinderen in de videoclip worden gespeeld door kinderen uit opvanghuizen. Beyoncé krijgt van ons zelf de mogelijkheid die kinderen uit te zoeken. Ons tweede onderdeel van de campagne zijn de benefietconcerten om geld op te halen voor free a girl. We dachten eerst eraan om de concerten in de landen te geven waar projecten van free a girl aan de gang zijn, maar toen bedachten we dat dat helemaal niet handig was. We verwachten namelijk dat de mensen in meer westerse landen sneller zullen komen naar de concerten en ook meer zullen doneren. Toen moesten we gaan kijken naar de hoeveelheid concerten we wilden. We willen niet teveel want dan is het het concert niet meer bijzonder genoeg. Daarom hebben we gekozen voor het aantal 5. De steden die we hebben gekozen zijn: Amsterdam (Johan Cruijff Arena),  Londen (O2 Arena), Berlijn (Olympiastadion),  Milaan (San Siro stadion) en Parijs (Parc des Princes stadion). We willen in Amsterdam beginnen omdat de stichting Nederlands is. Parijs vinden we een mooie plek om te eindigen in het stadion van Paris Saint Germain. Dat stadion heet namelijk ‘Parc des Princes’ en alle meisjes zijn natuurlijk prinsesjes. We dachten eerst aan om de 2 weken maar dan moet Beyoncé de hele tijd heen en weer reizen dus doen we om de week. In de tussentijd kan Beyoncé op bezoek gaan bij slachtoffers van kinderprostitutie in dat land. We wilden een vrolijke sfeer om de concerten heen dus worden ze gehouden in de lente/zomer. Ze zijn telkens op zaterdag, beginnend op 18 mei en eindigend op 15 juni. De bijbehorende powerpoint is ons eindproduct. Terugkijkend op deze opdracht hebben wij meer geleerd over Beyoncé en de stichting Free a Girl. Het verband tussen deze artiest en deze stichting hadden wij zonder deze opdracht niet gehad.
